NASICON-structured Li 1.3 Al 0.3 Ti 1.7 (PO 4) 3 (LATP) solid electrolyte has low grain boundary conductivity, which impedes its practical application. Herein, W was adopted to partially replace the Al element in LATP to improve its grain boundary conductivity. The W doping reduces the crystal lattice of the electrolyte, which is detrimental to the grain conductivity. But the doping of W can make the grains closely connect and reduce the voids between the grains, which can greatly enhance the grain boundary conductivity. The LATP sample with the W doping content of 0.03 (LATWP003) exhibits the highest total ionic conductivity of 1.186 mS/cm at 30 ℃, which results from the optimum grain boundary conductivity of 2.315 mS/cm. Moreover, the LATWP003 electrolyte displays a negligible electronic conductivity of 2.01×10−9 S/cm. The LiFePO 4 /LATWP003/Li battery with PVDF-HFP polymer protective layer can be charged and discharged. Therefore, the W doped LATP sample is a promising electrolyte for lithium-ion batteries. Background: Clinician notes are structured in a variety of ways. This research pilot tested an innovative study design and explored the impact of note formats on diagnostic accuracy and documentation review time. Objective: To compare two formats for clinical documentation (narrative format vs. list of findings) on clinician diagnostic accuracy and documentation review time. Method: Participants diagnosed written clinical cases, half in narrative format, and half in list format. Diagnostic accuracy (defined as including correct case diagnosis among top three diagnoses) and time spent processing the case scenario were measured for each format. Generalised linear mixed regression models and bias-corrected bootstrap percentile confidence intervals for mean paired differences were used to analyse the primary research questions. Results: Odds of correctly diagnosing list format notes were 26% greater than with narrative notes. However, there is insufficient evidence that this difference is significant (75% CI 0.8–1.99). On average the list format notes required 85.6 more seconds to process and arrive at a diagnosis compared to narrative notes (95% CI -162.3, −2.77). Of cases where participants included the correct diagnosis, on average the list format notes required 94.17 more seconds compared to narrative notes (75% CI -195.9, −8.83). Conclusion: This study offers note format considerations for those interested in improving clinical documentation and suggests directions for future research. Balancing the priority of clinician preference with value of structured data may be necessary. Organic compounds display several electronic and structural features which enable their application in various fields, ranging from biological to non-biological. These compounds contain heteroatoms like sulfur, nitrogen and oxygen, which provide coordination sites to act as ligands in the field of coordination chemistry and are used as chemosensors to detect various metal ions. This review article covers different organic compounds including thiourea, Schiff base, pyridine, thiophene, coumarin, triazolyl pyrenes, imidazole, fluorescein, thiazole, tricarbocyanine, rhodanine, porphyrin, hydrazone, benzidine and other functional groups based chemosensors, that contain heteroatoms like sulfur, nitrogen and, oxygen for fluorimetric and colorimetric detection of Ag+ in different environmental, agricultural, and biological samples. Further, the sensing mechanism and performances of these chemosensors have been discussed, which could help the readers for the future design of highly efficient, selective, and sensitive chemosensors for the detection and determination of Ag+ ions. Scanning tunneling microscopy shows that copper deposited at room temperature onto a freshly exfoliated MoS2 surface forms Cu(111) clusters with periodic preferred heights of 5, 8, and 11 atomic layers. These height intervals correlate with Fermi nesting regions along the necks of the bulk Cu Fermi surface, indicating a connection between physical and electronic structures. Density functional theory calculations of freestanding Cu(111) films support this as well, predicting a lower density of states at the Fermi level for these preferred heights. This is consistent with other noble metals deposited on MoS2 that exhibit electronic growth, in which the metal films self-assemble as nanostructures minimizing quantum electronic energies. Here, we have discovered that it is critical for the metal deposition to begin on a clean MoS2 surface. If copper is deposited onto an already Cu coated surface, even if the original film displays electronic growth, the resulting Cu film lacks quantization. Instead, the preferred heights of the Cu clusters simply increase linearly with the amount of Cu deposited upon the surface. We believe this is due to different bonding conditions during the initial stages of growth. Newly deposited copper would bond strongly to the already present copper clusters, rather than the weak bonding, which exists to the van der Waals terminated surface of MoS2. The stronger bonding with previously deposited clusters hinders additional Cu atoms from reaching their lowest quantum energy state. For liquid crystal display‐based devices, the memory sub‐system and backlight consume a notable amount of energy, posing a critical concern, especially for portable devices. This work introduces an integrated display system (IDS) aimed at combining technologies for energy‐efficient memory usage and backlight power optimization, which have been addressed independently until now in the existing literature. Two modifications of approximated memory are proposed to find an optimal scheme for energy‐efficient memory usage as part of the proposed IDS schemes. Additionally, three distinct IDS schemes are proposed and compared to identify an optimum solution, ensuring energy efficiency maximization while maintaining image quality for each image. Experimental results demonstrate that 42.19% of energy consumption in memory access and 37.57% of the backlight power consumption can be reduced, while maintaining the image quality in terms of two different metrics. The agility of satellites equipped with large and flexible structures, such as solar panels or antennas, poses a significant challenge due to the influence of elastic dynamics on attitude motion. This results in reduced pointing accuracy and dimensional stability of the payload. To address this issue, an Active Collocated Attitude Control (ACAC) system has been developed, utilizing actuators for both the elastic dynamics (distributed piezoelectric devices) and attitude control (ON-OFF thrusters). In the initial phase of the project, the algorithm underwent extensive verification using a high-fidelity numerical model of a spacecraft with two very-low frequency flexible solar panels and a payload consisting of two long booms and a transversal antenna's reflector. The paper focuses on the second phase of the project, which revolves around the experimental verification of the control architecture concept. To achieve this, a scaling procedure employing the dynamic analogy approach was implemented to determine the design parameters of a free-floating platform equipped with elastic appendages. This ensured that the resulting elastic multibody system displayed similar dynamic behavior to the full-scale satellite. Based on the scaling parameters, a test rig was manufactured, and actuators and sensors were optimally positioned. The performance of the ACAC system was then compared to that of traditional benchmark controllers. The results show that the ACAC system demonstrates superior capabilities in performing fast slew maneuvers without developing unstable interactions with the elastic dynamics. • Agile maneuvers of large satellites could excite rigid-flexible interactions. • A robust control of attitude and elastic dynamics is implemented to improve agility. • Performance obtained with numerical models is verified with scaled-down test-rig. • Simplified dynamic equations are developed to determine scaling conditions. • Experimental results of the robust control are consistent with simulation. Polymer self-assembly can prepare various shapes and sizes of pores, making it widely used. The complexity and diversity of biomolecules make them a unique class of building blocks for precise assembly. They are particularly suitable for the new generation of biomaterials integrated with life systems as they possess inherent characteristics such as accurate identification, self-organization, and adaptability. Therefore, many excellent methods developed have led to various practical results. At the same time, the development of advanced science and technology has also expanded the application scope of self-assembly of synthetic polymers. By utilizing this technology, materials with unique shapes and properties can be prepared and applied in the field of tissue engineering. Nanomaterials with transparent and conductive properties can be prepared and applied in fields such as electronic displays and smart glass. Multi-dimensional, controllable, and multi-level self-assembly between nanostructures has been achieved through quantitative control of polymer dosage and combination, chemical modification, and composite methods. Here, we list the classic applications of natural- and artificially synthesized polymer self-assembly in the fields of biomedicine and materials, introduce the cutting-edge technologies involved in these applications, and discuss in-depth the advantages, disadvantages, and future development directions of each type of polymer self-assembly. High-entropy pyrochlore iridates A2Ir2O7 with multiple trivalent A cations were synthesized. The parent ternary A2Ir2O7 displays a variety of electronic phases depending on the size of A cations; Pr2Ir2O7 with a large A cation shows semimetallic behavior down to low temperatures, whereas A2Ir2O7 with smaller A cations, such as Nd2Ir2O7 and Eu2Ir2O7, displays a (semi)metal to magnetic insulator transition as a function of temperature. By further reducing the A cation size, smaller than Y3+, A2Ir2O7 becomes a Mott insulator, and long-range magnetic order takes place below room temperature. The metal–insulator transition and magnetic ordering turned out to be robust against strong disorder induced by the mixing of more than five A-cations in the high-entropy A2Ir2O7. The transition temperatures were found to scale with the average ionic radius of multiple A-cations. In contrast, high-entropy A2Ir2O7 including Bi3+ exhibits metallic behavior down to 2 K, which is likely associated with the presence of oxygen vacancies as in the parent Bi2Ir2O7. Although these indicate that the overall electronic structure of A2Ir2O7 remains intact in the presence of high-entropy configuration at the A-site, the transport properties suggest that fine details of the band structure may be modulated by local distortion. Electronic displays, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones, have dramatically altered the way information is accessed and become significant factors in human daily life. They interfere with the blink rate and increase dry eye symptoms, which lead to more discomfort compared to hard copy while reading. Digital eye strain occurs when an individual suffers from symptoms, or they are exacerbated, while performing a task requiring digital screen viewing. This study assessed the tear film status immediately following reading on a laptop computer screen versus an identical hard copy. Thirty young adults with normal ocular health and reporting no significant symptoms of dry eye (ocular surface disease index (OSDI) score < 13 and non-invasive tear break-up time (NITBUT) > 10 seconds) read a text as hard copy and on a laptop computer screen for 30 min on separate days in a random sequence in a controlled reading experimental condition. The texts were matched in size and contrast and presented at a viewing distance of 40 cm. The NITBUT and strip meniscometry tube tests were administered at baseline and after reading in both conditions. The median baseline NITBUT decreased from 13.0 s to 10.0 s (P < 0.001) after hardcopy reading and to 7.0 (P < 0.001) after reading from a laptop computer screen, with a significant difference between the task medium (P = 0.001). The baseline strip meniscometry tube results decreased from 6.7 mm to 5.0 mm (P < 0.001) after hardcopy reading and to 5.0 mm (P < 0.001) after reading from a laptop computer screen, but there was no significant difference with the task medium (P = 0.085). Reading in both conditions led to tear film instability in terms of the tear film quality and quantity. Additionally, the computer screen has a greater impact on the TBUT compared to hardcopy reading, while these two reading mediums had a similar effect on the tear volume. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Flexible glass with high bending strength is a remarkable component of flexible electronic displays. However, as a brittle material, its bending properties often do not meet requirements of application. To address this challenge, the application of chemical strengthening stands out as a viable approach to significantly bolster scratch resistance and bending strength in flexible glass. This study focuses on a conventional one‐step chemical strengthening method, employing molten potassium nitrate, to reinforce ultrathin aluminosilicate glass produced through the secondary down‐drawing thermoforming process. Effects of ion‐exchange temperature and time on mechanical properties of strengthened 110 µm flexible glass were investigated, and moreover, properties of strengthened ultrathin flexible glass with various thicknesses were compared. The results indicate that, after chemical strengthening at 380°C for 1 h, the compressive stress (CS) of 110 µm glass reaches 864.60 MPa, and the depth of layer is 15.86 µm, at which time the glass has the best bending performance and scratch resistance, and half of the faceplate spacing during glass breakage can be enhanced from 38.02 ± 2.7 to 8.40 ± 0.62 mm. For ultrathin flexible glass from 40 to 110 µm, after treatment at 380°C for 1 h, the CS of thick glass is higher than that of thin glass, and the enhancement of bending performance is better. Self‐powered pressure detection using smart wearable devices is the subject of intense research attention, which is intended to address the critical need for prolonged and uninterrupted operations. Current piezoelectric and triboelectric sensors well respond to dynamic stimuli while overlooking static stimuli. This study proposes a dual‐response potentiometric pressure sensor that responds to both dynamic and static stimuli. The proposed sensor utilizes interdigital electrodes with MnO2/carbon/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as the cathode and conductive silver paste as the anode. The electrolyte layer incorporates a mixed hydrogel of PVA and phosphoric acid. The optimized interdigital electrodes and sandpaper‐like microstructured surface of the hydrogel electrolyte contribute to enhanced performance by facilitating an increased contact area between the electrolyte and electrodes. The sensor features an open‐circuit voltage of 0.927 V, a short‐circuit current of 6 µA, a higher sensitivity of 14 mV/kPa, and outstanding cycling performance (>5000 cycles). It can accurately recognize letter writing and enable capacitor charging and LED lighting. Additionally, a data acquisition and display system employing the proposed sensor, which facilitates the monitoring of athletes' rehabilitation training, and machine learning algorithms that effectively guide rehabilitation actions are presented. Electronic paper displays rely on electrokinetic effects in nonpolar solvents to drive the displacement of colloidal particles within a fluidic cell. While Electrophoresis (EP) is a well-established and frequently employed phenomenon, electro-osmosis (EO), which drives fluid flow along charged solid surfaces, has not been studied as extensively. We hypothesize that by exploiting the interplay between these effects, an enhanced particle transport can be achieved. In this study, we experimentally investigate the combined effects of EP and EO for colloidal particles in non-polar solvents, driven by an electric field. We use astigmatism micro-particle tracking velocimetry (A- μ PTV) to measure the motion of charged particles within model fluidic cells. Using a simple approach that relies on basic fluid flow properties we extract the contributions due to EP and EO, finding that EO contributes significantly to particle transport. The validity of our approach is confirmed by measurements on particles with different magnitudes of charge, and by comparison to numerical simulations. We find that EO flows can play a dominant role in the transport of particles in electrokinetic display devices. This can be exploited to speed up particle transport, potentially yielding displays with significantly faster switching times. Electrochromic (EC) fibers capable of optical transmission, reflection, and emission modulation are highly desired for promising applications in electronic display, adaptive camouflage, and visual sensation. However, the non‐uniform electric field of the fiber structure and the lack of electrochemically stable transparent conductive electrodes still limit the practical applications of EC fibers. In this work, scalable EC fibers with long‐range modulation performance and electrochemical stability are fabricated using Ag@Au nanowires (AANWs) nanonetwork and parallel dual‐electrode. Benefiting from the electrochemically resistant Au shell layer that inhibits the oxidation of the nanonetwork electrodes, the EC fibers still maintain excellent EC performance even after 300 color changes. The synergistic interaction between the unique AANWs nanonetwork and the parallel dual‐electrode structure enables the 10 m‐long EC fibers to maintain rapid switching speeds and excellent color uniformity. Additionally, the utilization of mechanical looms to weave long EC fibers has facilitated the practical application of EC fibers in wearable displays, adaptive camouflage, and visual sensation. Comprehensive Summary: Duration‐tunable afterglow materials have garnered considerable attention in various applications. Herein, carbon dots (CDs)‐based long persistent luminescence (LPL) composites with a tunable duration in an ultrawide range of seconds‐to‐hours levels were designed and prepared for the first time. In contrast to the established CD‐based afterglow materials, we reported that CD‐based composites exhibit LPL in the form of exciplexes and long‐lived charge‐separated states, enabling the LPL to be prolonged from several seconds to over one hour, exceeding the typical regulation range (limited to 1 min). Further studies revealed that the relationship between the excited and charge‐transfer states of CDs plays a pivotal role in activating the LPL and regulating its duration. Furthermore, these composites exhibited high photoluminescence (PL) quantum yields of up to 60.63%, and their LPL was robust under ambient conditions, even in aqueous media. Their robust and superior LPL performance endows these composites with a strong competitive advantage in dynamic display systems, such as tags for time‐resolved data encryption and displays of the remaining time of takeaways. This study offers an approach to preparing CDs‐based LPL composites with tunable durations and may provide new insights for the development of rare‐earth‐free LPL materials. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Even though monitoring and control enactment are key aspects of self‐regulated learning (SRL), Adaptive learning technologies (ALTs) may reduce the need for learners to monitor and control their learning. Personalized dashboards are effective in supporting learners' monitoring and can potentially support control behaviour. Allowing learners to enact control over their learning process, seems to hold potential for increasing their motivation. Objectives: Therefore, this study's aim was to investigate the relation between control enactment and motivation. We examined how learners enacted control while learning with an ALT with personalized dashboards and examined the relation between learners' enactment of control and their motivation. Methods: Seventy‐eight primary school learners (Grade 5) participated. During the lesson, learners worked on mathematics in the ALT and concurrently were shown personalized visualizations that supported monitoring and enacting control over their learning process. Learners could enact control to change problems' difficulty to easy, medium, or hard. Motivation was measured before and after learning. Results: The SEM analyses showed that how learners enacted control was related to their motivation. Choosing difficult problems was related to more enjoyment and competence while choosing easy problems related to more pressure and tension. Learners who complied with the suggested difficulty level experienced less choice, but also less pressure/tension and more enjoyment and competence. Conclusions: These results provide avenues to account for broader learner characteristics like SRL and motivation to optimize learning. This way, hybrid systems in which control enactment is a shared responsibility of the system and learner, can be improved to support SRL development. Due to global warming and the disturbance of the interannual variability of precipitation, the frequency of extreme drought events has increased. The impact of global climate change on water resources is becoming increasingly apparent, then it is particularly necessary to explore the carrying capacity of water ecological environment under extreme drought conditions, which can guarantee the ecological water security in river basins. This study takes the Guanzhong area of the Wei River Basin as an example, calculating the water environment carrying capacity of 40 areas in the Weihe Guanzhong area in different levels of years under extreme drought conditions by comprehensive evaluation model of carrying capacity and using geographic information system GIS to display the spatial distribution of water environment carrying capacity in 40 regions. According to the results of the spatial distribution of water environmental bearing capacity, four different schemes are designed to improve the bearing capacity. The first plan reduces the industrial water consumption and irrigation quota by 5%, the second plan increases the industrial water and sewage treatment rate on this basis. the third plan further improves the development and utilization rate of surface and groundwater, and the fourth plan, on the basis of the first three plans, supplies 600 million cubic meters of industrial and agricultural water to Guanzhong region. Through comparative analysis, without taking any measures, under the extreme drought conditions, the water environment carrying capacity of the 40 areas in Guanzhong is all in an unbearable state. Overall, plan 4 has the most significant improvement in the water environment-carrying capacity, especially the Dong zhuang Reservoir of the Jing River which has played a very important role in enhancing the water ecological environment carrying capacity of the downstream water of the Wei River. Electrochromic devices (ECDs) possess the performance advantages in terms of color adjustability, low power consumption, and visual friendliness, emerging as one of the ideal candidates for energy‐efficient smart windows, next‐generation displays, and wearable electronics. With the development of the information industry, the wearable three‐dimensional (3D) near‐eye display that can provide complete visual information has attracted increasing attention. Compared with other existing 3D display technologies, the holographic display is a promising true 3D display technology that can fully record and reproduce the original 3D scenes. The ability to present a continuous parallax and depth perception gives holography technology an unprecedented promise in the next‐generation 3D near‐eye display. However, currently available holographic near‐eye display systems can only provide a limited viewing area (including the field of view and eyebox), greatly restricting its practical application. Focusing on the development requirements of large viewing‐area 3D holographic near‐eye display, the reasons are introduced first why the viewing area of current holographic displays is limited and then the existing solutions from different aspects, including multiplexing‐based methods, steering viewing window methods, aperiodic wavefront modulation methods, and some emerging holographic display technologies are summarized. These various solutions are analyzed respectively, and their representative works are investigated. In addition, the different applications of holography in the near‐eye display system are also discussed. Introduction: Quantitative research and quality improvement (QI) both seek to improve care provided to patients. However, clinicians often blur the lines between how to appropriately analyze data from these methodologies. Clinicians may inappropriately use statistical analyses for QI initiatives, rather than using run and statistical process control (SPC) charts to analyze improvements in outcomes. Objective: The purpose of this article was to address the analytic methods used for QI initiatives in the clinical setting in an effort to show clinicians how to identify meaningful improvements in clinical practice. Methods: In this article, we provide an example comparing the same evidence-based practice/QI initiative (chlorhexidine gluconate bathing in a medical intensive care unit) using a quasi-experimental pretest/posttest research design with statistical analyses completed with t tests with analyses using run and SPC charts to show the data trended over time. Using a pretest/posttest design, chlorhexidine gluconate bathing compliance improved from 63%to 65%, a nonsignificant change, P = .075. These same data plotted on run and SPC charts, however, show a shift and a trend, indicating clinically significant improvements per QI methodologies. Conclusion: The example in this article highlights the pitfall of relying only on statistical analyses and P values to determine the importance of a clinical project, and provides a practical example for how run or SPC charts can be used to identify improvements over time. Attaining highly uniform operations in a disordered system presents a persistent challenge. The utilization of ion migration in amorphous materials to trigger the resistive switching process of the material usually results in inferior uniformity of the memristive device. Here, we demonstrate that the resistive switching behavior can be activated through carrier doping in the disorder system, and highly ordered resistance modulation is achieved in Ag-doped albumen. By manipulating the doping level of the carrier, the localization of the free electron wavefunction can be tuned, leading to multi-level variations in resistance. This memristive switching behavior is in all electronic and displays excellent switching uniformity, holding great potential for applications in high-density memories and neuromorphic computing chips. Electrochromic devices have important applications in building energy conservation, next‐generation displaying, and security encryption, while durable and high‐performance electrochromic materials are highly desirable. Herein, a Zn‐based electrochromic smart window by using 3D ordered macroporous amorphous WO3 (a‐WO3) arrays as cathode is reported. Benefiting from a 3D ordered macroporous structure with a high specific surface area that accelerates the ion diffusion and migration, and the oxygen vacancy modulated a‐WO3 providing abundant zinc ion insertion channels, the as‐fabricated zinc‐based a‐WO3 inverse opal (a‐WO3‐IO) device exhibits excellent electrochromic properties, including large light modulation (83% optical contrast at 700 nm), fast response time (5.3 s for coloring and 3.2 s for bleaching), and robust cycling stability. Moreover, a solid‐state a‐WO3‐IO prototype electrochromic smart window is demonstrated for light modulation, electronic display, and power supply. In the pursuit of highly active electrocatalysts is crucial to overcome the sluggish kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Herein, Fe–CoS 2 /carbon nanotubes anchored on carbon polyhedron (Fe–CoS 2 /CNT CPs) is prepared by using zeolitic imidazolate framework-8@zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-8@ZIF-67) as template. A series of analysis demonstrates the incorporation of Fe via wrapped Fe-EDTA can exert charge transfer between Co and Fe and optimize the adsorption of targeted intermediates, which favors for enhanced OER performance. Moreover, the catalytic effect of Co and Fe not only promotes the growth of carbon nanotubes but also enhances the degree of graphitization. The carbon skeletons embedded with carbon nanotubes derived from ZIF-8@ZIF-67 offer high specific surface area and strengthen the electrical conductivity of Fe–CoS 2 /CNT CPs. Therefore, compared with its counterpart and commercial RuO 2 , the designed Fe–CoS 2 /CNT CPs with regulated electronic structure displays the lowest overpotential of 293 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm−2 in 1.0 M KOH solution for OER. This Part covers Learning Management Systems, infographics, podcasting, videos, websites, social media, online discussion forums, simulation, virtual patients, extended and virtual reality. Intertwined are other topics, such as online small group teaching, game-based learning, FOAM, online social and collaboration learning, and virtual care teaching. Perception in virtual reality is often compared to the perception of pictures. There are, however, important differences. A virtual reality environment, unlike a picture, is interactive and immersive. These properties give rise to novel theoretical challenges. Building on James J. Gibson's analysis of the perception of depictions, we raise three questions about perception in virtual reality, to which we offer tentative answers: (1) Is virtual reality a kind of picture perception? Answer: No. A virtual reality headset is better understood not as an image-based display but as a pair of electronic spectacles that allow the wearer to sample a simulated ambient optic array. (2) Who creates the information in virtual reality? Answer: The information is a joint creation of hardware developers, software engineers, and the observer. The observer is a co-creator of the information that they detect. (3) Are there affordances in virtual reality? Answer: Yes, but there are limitations on what a given virtual reality environment can provide to its users, resulting from the details of how the environment is implemented. Visual misinformation poses unique challenges to public health due to its potential for persuasiveness and rapid spread on social media. In this article, librarians at the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Library System identify four types of visual health misinformation: misleading graphs and charts, out of context visuals, image manipulation in scientific publications, and AI-generated images and videos. To educate our campus's health sciences audience and wider community on these topics, we have developed a range of instruction about visual health misinformation. BACKGROUND: The monitoring of fetal heart rate (FHR) before intrapartum has been crucial in modern obstetrics. FHR has been used for about 300 years to determine fetal status, leading to the development of monitoring devices to prevent fetal death during gestation. While medical devices like fetal electrocardiograms exist for disease detection, their size and cost limit individual use. OBJECTIVE: To address cardiovascular issues during pregnancy, a mobile system is developed to display heart rates and blood pressure on mobile devices. The system is generated from a medical device with Bluetooth communication, supplementing traditional monitoring. METHOD: The study focuses on creating a mobile system that connects to mobile operating systems, enhancing treatment, diagnosis, and patient monitoring. The mobile system displays cardiovascular data obtained from the medical device. RESULTS: The results are expected to have an immediate impact on cases where abnormal measurement parameters of the monitoring system occur during pregnancy. The use of mobile systems or applications on smartphones is seen as beneficial in distributing processing and census of embedded health systems. CONCLUSION: The study highlights the potential benefits of mobile systems in distributing processing for health systems, particularly in addressing cardiovascular problems during pregnancy. A materials scientist named Frank Mücklich has won the Albert Keil Prize for his work in improving the reliability of electrical contacts in cars. Topological transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) have attracted much attention due to their potential applications in spintronics and quantum computations. In this work, the structural and electronic properties of topological TMDCs candidate ZrTe2 are systematically investigated under high pressure. A pressure‐induced Lifshitz transition is evidenced by the change of charge carrier type as well as the Fermi surface. Superconductivity is observed at around 8.3 GPa without structural phase transition. A typical dome‐shape phase diagram is obtained with the maximum Tc of 5.6 K for ZrTe2. Furthermore, the theoretical calculations suggest the presence of multiple pressure‐induced topological quantum phase transitions, which coexists with emergence of superconductivity. Aerosol jet printing (AJP) is a new non-contact direct writing technique designed to achieve precise and intricate patterns on various substrates. Specifically, the pneumatic AJP process breaks down the ink into fine particles, significantly reducing the risk of nozzle clogging and rendering it highly advantageous for industrial applications. This paper focuses on the optimization of the line electrode formation process using soluble silver clusters as the conductive ink, along with the aerosol formation procedure. The main parameters of the AJP process, namely sheath flow rate, atomizer flow rate, and dispensing speed, were identified and examined for their influence on line width and resistivity. Through this analysis, an operability window, including optimized conditions for printing high-quality lines using the AJP process, was established, along with a regression equation enabling the statistical estimation of line width. In summary, the outcomes of this investigation underscore the feasibility of an integrated printing system capable of precision control over line width, achieved through the optimization of AJP process parameters. Furthermore, it was established that pneumatic AJP offers robust process stability. The practical applicability of the proposed optimization techniques was assessed, highlighting their potential utilization in electrode formation processes within the electronic and display industry. Cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM), especially single‐particle analysis, has become a powerful technique for visualizing the structure of biological macromolecules at high resolution. However, data acquisition in cryo‐EM is time consuming because it requires the collection of thousands of images to achieve a high‐quality reconstruction. Real‐time preprocessing and display of the images can greatly enhance the efficiency and quality of data collection. This study presents AutoEMage, a new open‐source software package that automates data transfer, preprocessing and real‐time display in cryo‐EM experiments. AutoEMage also includes a real‐time data monitoring system that alerts users to issues with their data, allowing them to take corrective actions accordingly. Navigation is a joint operation between humans and technology. Navigating high-speed craft (HSC) is a more critical and risky task than other types of ship navigation due to high speed and time limitations. Situational awareness (SA) is the understanding of what is going on around the navigators. HSC navigator who has an insufficient level of SA may lead to wrong decisions and even accidents. In this study, an analysis of Turkish HSC navigators' SA levels has been carried out in their working environment. Situational Awareness Rating Technique (SART) and pairwise comparison of the effects of Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA), Automatic Identification System (AIS) and autopilot on SA questionnaires were applied. According to SA, navigation operations, factors that mostly affect SA and suggestions that would increase SA were sorted in accordance with the navigators' perceptions. The results show that the level of HSC navigators' SA is high and sufficient. Finally, considerations are introduced to keep acceptable levels or increase SA on HSCs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To determine the impact of a business intelligence dashboard tool to optimize automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs). Methods: A pre-post implementation design was used to evaluate key performance indicators (KPI) before and after the implementation of a dashboard tool to optimize ADCs. Eleven ADCs were optimized in 2 phases according to dashboard recommendations: (1) removal of unused medications over 90 days, (2) adjusting periodic automatic replenishment (PAR) levels, and (3) addition of commonly dispensed medications. The KPI measures that were assessed included inventory cost, no. of stocked medications, stockout percentage, vend to refill ratio, and missing dose messages from nursing. An interrupted-time-series regression was used to quantify the impact of ADCs on the means of measured KPIs. Results: Differences in mean distribution of all KPIs, except missing dose, between the pre- and post-ADC periods during the Phase 1 period were statistically significant: inventory cost (54.2 vs 56), stockout percentage (1.55 vs 1.12), vend to refill ratio (6.83 vs 6.14), and missing dose messages (221 vs 229). Only the mean ADC utilization (57.3 vs 64) and missing dose (228 vs 179) were statistically different between the pre- and post-ADC periods in Phase 2. The interrupted-time-series analysis showed that Phase 1 optimization significantly reduced the cost of inventory (β = −$1.238.00, P <.01), no. Stocked medications (β = −8.2, P <.01), percent stockout (β = −.49%, P <.01), vend-to-refill ratio (β = −1.29%, P<.01) and ADC utilization (β = −.2, P <.01). Dual-display encoded libraries have resulted in the identification of pairs of synergistic binders, which have been further developed into high-affinity ligands. Novel selection modalities based on simultaneous display of binding molecules with molecules of selected functionality have recently been developed, creating opportunities for screening target proteins both in solution and in a cellular context. The versatility of encoding designs makes it possible to modulate the distance between ligands. Dual-display libraries can be used to explore ligand geometry and spacing for improving binding synergy. Affinity maturation by selections is an established use of dual-display encoded libraries and is an accessible method for improving the binding affinity of known ligands. DNA-encoded chemical library technology (DECL or DEL) has become an important pillar for small-molecule drug discovery. The technology rapidly identifies small-molecule hits for relevant target proteins at low cost and with a high success rate, including ligands for targeted protein degradation (TPD). More recently, the setup of DNA- or peptide nucleic acid (PNA)-encoded chemical libraries based on the simultaneous display of ligand pairs, termed dual-display, allows for more sophisticated applications which will be reviewed herein. Both stable and dynamic dual-display DEL technologies enable innovative affinity-based selection modalities, even on and in cells. Novel methods for a seamless conversion between single- and double-stranded library formats allow for even more versatility. This paper introduces a novel differentiator-based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller for a wind energy conversion system (WECS) equipped with a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). Building upon our previous algorithms, the proposed controller reduces the need for detailed system information and displays enhanced robustness against parameter variations and disturbances. The innovation lies in the elimination of the need for explicit functional forms or specific parameter values in the system's dynamics, relying solely on relative degrees and control directions. Utilizing a higher-order switching differentiator (HOSD), this paper outlines a method for overestimating the time derivatives of system outputs, thereby simplifying both the controller design and stability analysis. Compared to existing solutions, the proposed method requires minimal information, offers simpler control law structures, and follows a systematic design approach with fewer design constants. Simulation results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed controller in both tracking maximum power and regulating reactive power to zero, suggesting a more efficient and simplified approach to MPPT control in WECS. Healthcare providers often encounter clinical trial results in the form of visual data displays. Although there is a robust literature on patient responses to data displays in medical settings, less is known about how providers comprehend and apply this information. Our study provides a scoping review of the literature on providers' reactions to and perceptions of data displays. We searched article databases (PubMed, PsycINFO, Web of Science, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, the Cochrane Library) supplemented by handsearching. Eligible articles were published in English from 1990 to 2020. We identified 15 articles meeting our criteria. Studies with physicians were more prevalent (13/15) than those with other healthcare providers (6/15). Commonly assessed outcomes included objective (10/15) and subjective comprehension (4/15), preference for certain data display formats (6/15), and hypothetical decision-making around prescribing (4/15). In studies that assessed comprehension of clinical trial concepts, scores were average or below what would be considered mastery of the information. Data display formats that were preferred did not always correlate with better comprehension of information; lesser preferred formats (e.g. icon array) often resulted in better comprehension. Our findings suggest that healthcare providers may not accurately interpret complex types of data displays, and it is unknown if such limitations affect actual decision-making. Background: The substantial growth in gamification research has connected gamified learning to enhanced engagement, improved performance, and greater motivation. Similar to gamification, personalized learning analytics dashboards can enhance student engagement. Objectives: This study explores the student experiences and academic achievements using a gamified dashboard in a large, introductory STEM course. Methods: We examined two groups of students enrolled in different sections of a one‐semester‐long physical geology course with a total enrollment of 223 students. The only difference between the groups was that one had access to the dashboard. The data collection included students' assignments, overall performances, and exam scores. Students in both sections completed a Science Literacy Concept Inventory survey at the beginning and end of the term. Additionally, students completed an end‐of‐term survey containing open‐ended questions on their experience and interactions with specific elements. Results: Students shared mostly positive comments about their experience with the dashboard, and the final grade of students with access to the dashboard was 13% higher, on average, compared to their peers in the non‐dashboard section. Conclusion: With low costs and little time invested, gamified dashboards could have a significant impact on student performance in large STEM lecture courses. What this paper adds: In this paper, we examine the differences in academic performance between students with and without access to a gamified learning dashboard in an undergraduate Geology course.We observe that students with access to the dashboard (the treatment group), outperform students without access (the control group). The greatest benefit is observed for students who use the dashboard more frequently.Students reported that the progress tracker, the badges, and the rewards all incentivized their use and provided useful feedback about their performance. Students who did not adopt the dashboard expressed a need for more detail about the tool and its purpose. Before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the College's Hirons Library & Learning Center (HLLC) library marketing efforts included word of mouth, information literacy instruction session, physical and electronic displays, and announcement on the library webpage to library users. In March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the HLLC, in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research & Training (OIRT), designed two new library marketing campaigns using the project management app, Notion. Both campaigns were designed to meet the new and changing needs of our new, predominately remote, users. In the first library marketing campaign, the HLLC's marketing goal was very focused and deliberate in purpose. The library emailed the College community messages to increase awareness and usage of the library's eBook collections. In the second library marketing campaign, the library broadened the purpose of the marketing campaigned to promote online resources, tools, and virtual programs. The library sent text messages to the students. In this edition of the column, we describe how our marketing efforts have changed due to the pandemic, including which strategies we employed, and the extent to which we recognized success with these new efforts. Urban excavation is an indispensable process for many construction activities such as road paving, house building, and pipe rehabilitation. However, the everincreasing complexity of underground utilities (e.g., water mains, gas lines, and sewage pipes) in urban environments challenges the safety of urban excavation, posing tremendous risks of potential collision and damage accidents. By obtaining real-time excavation information and high-fidelity simulation to evaluate safety risks, digital twin (DT) has an unexplored potential to improve urban excavation safety (UES). This research aims to investigate how a DT for urban excavation can be developed and used to improve UES. First, a multisensory solution is proposed to equip the physical excavators with the capability to precisely estimate their three-dimensional (3D) poses based on the kinematic model and social spider algorithm (SSA). Second, a building information model (BIM) of buried utilities and a 3D model of the excavators are integrated to form a dynamic virtual model that mirrors the actual excavation process. Third, based on the physical-virtual coupling DT, a real-time safety control method is proposed to proactively monitor urban excavation, dynamically assess collision risk, and timely warn against unsafe behaviors. A system prototype was developed and applied in a case study in Shandong, China. Results show that the system can precisely twin the pose of the excavator, increasing the estimation accuracy of the translation by at least 4.0 cm. The system can display the dynamic spatial position of the excavator and the buried pipes in 3D and automatically guide the excavator to operate safely in real-time, thereby avoiding potential collision accidents. Maritime safety is important for all stakeholders. On the other hand, maritime accidents occur despite rapid advances in technology. One of the most important aspects necessary to realise safety at sea is the safety of navigation. Navigating high-speed craft (HSC) is a more challenging and risky task than other types of ship navigation. A HSC navigator with insufficient safety culture (SC) may lead to wrong decisions in challenging physiological and psychological conditions. In this study, an analysis of HSC navigators' SC in terms of bridge operations has been carried out. Nordic Occupational Safety Climate Questionnaire (NOSACQ-50) and pairwise comparison of the effects of Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA), Automatic Identification System (AIS) and autopilot on SC have been applied to 38 Turkish HSC navigators. Navigation operations according to SC, factors that mostly influence SC and suggestions that will improve SC have been identified and discussed in accordance with navigators' perceptions. The monitoring performance of the photovoltaic system in real time is required for estimation and optimization purposes. This monitoring system has been the subject of extensive research, but in general it employs costly commercial software and as well as other license-based software. This paper discusses the design of a photovoltaic parameter monitoring system that uses Internet of Things technology to monitor in real time. This software is intended to be as interactive as possible in order to display all measurement data in the form of graphical according to a user-specified time interval. The constructed system is tested to display the measurement parameters of the fixed and dual axis solar tracker. The test results indicate that the system can display data in real time. Every data shown is accessible from any location and at any time, so long as the device being used is connected to the Internet. The aim of the study was to highlight the relevance of including blink regularity as a new parameter to fully characterize blinking; (2) Methods: A novel characterization of blink parameters is described, including spontaneous eyeblink rate (SEBR), percentage of incomplete blinks, and blink regularity. A pilot study was designed in which tear film break-up time (TFBUT), blink parameters, and the time percentage of ocular surface exposure were determined in eight subjects (52.0 ± 16.6 years, 4 females) in three experimental conditions (baseline, reading a hard-copy text, and reading from an electronic display). Blink parameters were monitored through asynchronous image analysis of one minute video segments; (3) Results: All blink parameters were influenced by experimental conditions. A trend was observed in which both reading tasks resulted in an increase in ocular surface exposure, mainly related to a combination of reduced SEBR, increased percentage of incomplete blinks, and loss of blink regularity; (4) Conclusions: A complete characterization of blink parameters is relevant to better understand ocular dryness related to surface exposure and to advice patients towards a reeducation of their blinking habits. Background: The term "Telemedicine" is being used in the medical and health sector to treat patients and to provide medical guidance remotely. The intellectual output from India in terms of publications was harvested from Scopus® with the keyword "Telemedicine" and analyzed by using bibliometric techniques. Methods: The source data was downloaded from the Scopus® database. All the publications on telemedicine and indexed in the database up to the year 2021 were considered for scientometric analysis. The software tools VOSviewer® version 1.6.18 to visualize bibliometric networks, statistical software R Studio® version 3.6.1 with the Bibliometrix package Biblioshiny® were used for analysis and data visualization, and EdrawMind® was used for mind mapping. Result: India contributed 2,391 (4.32%) publications on telemedicine to a total of 55,304 publications worldwide until 2021. There were 886 (37.05%) papers that appeared in open access mode. The analysis revealed that the first paper was published in the year 1995 from India. Steep growth in the number of publications was observed in 2020 with 458 publications. The highest, 54 research publications, appeared in the "Journal of Medical Systems." The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, contributed the highest number of publications (n = 134). A considerable overseas collaboration was observed (USA: 11%; UK: 5.85%). Conclusions: This is the first such attempt to address the intellectual output of India in the emerging medical discipline of telemedicine and has yielded useful information such as leading authors, institutions, their impact, and year-wise topic trends. Multiplexing technologies can be used as a platform for low-cost, high-performance, and large-capacity holographic displays and data storage systems. In this paper, a polarization multiplexed method is proposed to realize two different information channels under orthogonally linear-polarized incidences utilizing the coding metasurface. Based on the modified weighted Gerchberg–Saxton (GSW) algorithm, a two-bit coding metasurface is designed with a set of double-layer cross-type meta-atoms to encode the holographic phase information, which can reflect two independent holographic images with respect to different incident polarization. The experimental results agree well with the numerical simulations and the theoretical predictions, which make the proposed multiplexed two-bit coding meta-hologram a great potential in numerous applications such as data storage and information processing. Phosphate tungsten and molybenum bronzes represent an outstanding class of materials displaying textbook examples of charge‐density‐wave (CDW) physics among other fundamental properties. Here we report on the existence of a novel structural branch with the general formula [Ba(PO4)2][WmO3m−3] (m=3, 4 and 5) denominated ′layered monophosphate tungsten bronzes′ (L‐MPTB). It results from thick [Ba(PO4)2]4− spacer layers disrupting the cationic metal‐oxide 2D units and enforcing an overall trigonal structure. Their symmetries are preserved down to 1.8 K and the compounds show metallic behaviour with no clear anomaly as a function of temperature. However, their electronic structure displays the characteristic Fermi surface of previous bronzes derived from 5d W states with hidden nesting properties. By analogy with previous bronzes, such a Fermi surface should result into CDW order. Evidence of CDW order was only indirectly observed in the low‐temperature specific heat, giving an exotic context at the crossover between stable 2D metals and CDW order. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Designing photochromic systems with information displays has been seldom studied but is critical to the realization of instant hand-writable system. Previous instant hand-writable systems with inorganic photochromic materials limited to low color contrast. Herein, by controlling the sintering environment and ion doping concentration, an excellent light response is achieved by engineering the formation of oxygen vacancy defects in Ba 3 MgSi 2 O 8 :0.25%Dy3+, the maximum color contrast as high as 80.7%. A hand-rewritable system fabricated using these photochromic materials exhibits excellent writing and erasing reversibility in response to UV illumination and thermal stimulus. In addition, a large luminescence modulation of 86.2% is achieved due to the well overlap between the emission peak of Dy3+ and the absorption peak of Ba 3 MgSi 2 O 8. The resulting insights will be useful to researchers in inducing oxygen vacancy defects in high-performance inorganic photochromic systems for superior functional design. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
