In this article, we reported a new poly(diacetylenes)-based sensor (PDA-IBA) for silver ion detection and reduction through the chelation of imidazole moiety. The poly(diacetylenes) polymer functionalized with imidazole groups. As the concentration of silver ions in the solution increased, the PDA surface underwent oxidation concurrently with the reduction of silver ions was demonstrated through imidazole receptor. This chemical reaction resulted in a noticeable change in the color of the solution, shifting from blue to dark red. The limit of detection (LOD) was determined to be 0.034 mM. Zeta potential data analysis and electrochemical measurements further confirmed the PDA-IBA was capable to reduce Ag+ into Ag0. Moreover, the silver species produced were validated through inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Additionally, the color change observed in PDA-IBA as a response to silver ions was effectively demonstrated by integrating it into a paper-based sensor. This study introduces an innovative and promising approach for enhancing the capabilities of chemosensors in detecting and reducing Ag+. Abstract: Ruthenium‐containing organometallic ionic liquids with the B(CN)4 anion were developed that generate microporous amorphous coordination polymers upon UV irradiation. UV light irradiation of [Ru(C5H5)(C6H5R)][B(CN)4] (R=butyl, ethyl, octyl) quantitatively generated a yellow powder of a coordination polymer with the formula [Ru(C5H5){B(CN)4}]n. In this reaction, the arene ligand is eliminated by UV irradiation and coordination polymer is formed by coordination of the cyano groups of the anion to the Ru ion. The photogenerated solids exhibited nitrogen absorption properties due to their microporous structure. The stability of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazol-2-ylidene (NHC) in N,N -dimethylformammide (DMF) in the presence of acids was studied by cyclic voltammetry. The NHC was easily obtained by cathodic reduction of a solution of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium salt (BMImX) in DMF. The voltammetric measurements allowed to determine the NHC presence (and its concentration) in solution, due to the NHC oxidation peak. Moreover, carrying out the measurements as a function of time, it was possible to determine the half-life of NHC in DMF containing three different organic acids. The half-life was defined as the time to halve the NHC concentration (with respect to the initial one) τ 1/2 . It was found that when acetic acid is present in solution τ 1/2 is considerably smaller than τ 1/2 in its absence (15 min vs 69), while in the presence of 2,6-dimethylphenol and diethyl malonate (weaker acids than the NHCH + ) τ 1/2 is considerably higher (130 and 140 min vs 69). A hypothesis on the role of BMIm + and X − on the stability of NHC in DMF containing acids is reported. The reactivity of the NHC (studied in this paper) was tested in classical base-induced organic reactions, and the results are in accordance with the voltammetric analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To continue our previous work, the structure and some properties of a new series of 1,2,3,4-tetrazine 1,3-dioxides annulated with an imidazole ring or oxazole ring were studied in this paper. Four imidazolo-v-tetrazine 1,3-dioxides (ITDOs) I1-I4 and eight oxazolo-v-tetrazine 1,3-dioxides (OTDOs) O1-O8 were designed. We employed the density functional theory (DFT) in B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) to study their geometrical structures and the homodesmotic reaction method to calculate the enthalpies of formation. Detonation properties and stabilities were also studied. Generally speaking, ITDOs and OTDOs have more preferable stabilities than TTDOs or pyrazolo-TDOs. I3, I4, O1, and O2 were found to be comparable to the energy level of RDX; O5 and O6 are even as powerful as HMX. The stabilities analysis in this paper can also prove that the five-membered ring deformation and the steric hindrance change caused by the different substituents will affect the stabilities of the structures of 1,2,3,4-tetrazine 1,3-dioxides annulated with a five-membered nitrogen-rich heterocycle. Other factors, such as the position of the electron-withdrawing substituents or the position of coordinated oxygen atom, are worthwhile to investigate in future work. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
