The article reports that Kemtron has introduced a restriction of hazardous substance-compliant aluminum passivation process for its aluminum honeycomb electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) ventilation panels. The process has removed the hexavalent chromium, considered to be a potential lung carcinogen, which is present in some aluminum passivation processes. The company has also invested heavily in a new state-of-the-art production facility to make the EMC honeycomb vent panels. The standard honeycomb vent panel is constructed from two layers of aluminum honeycomb.
