The article offers a guideline to users of broadband Internet connections in Australia. It is explained that the user's location will be a major factor in the available types of broadband connections. The six types of broadband Internet connections are the Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), cable, wireless, ADSL 2 and 2+, naked DSL and satellite connections.

Abstract

The article describes the six types of broadband Internet connections, which are the Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), cable, wireless, ADSL 2, naked DSL and satellite connections. ADSL employs the user's telephone line but can offer much faster speeds than a dial-up connection. The cable connection employs the cable wires for cable television and is at least as fast as ASDL2+.
