This paper aims to open the discussion about a hidden damnatio in a Pedro García de Benabarre's painting that belongs to the MNAD of Buenos Aires and is part of the Spanish Renaissance art heritage of Argentina. I will examine the implications of some scratches trying to annul the devil's powers and the modern decision to "disguise" these interventions in pursuit of certain restoration criteria and museumification mechanisms.
