This work investigates the use of computational simulation to discrete events with the software ProModel, as a tool to support decision making regarding the truck fleet dimensioning and uses the data from Civil Mineração Ltda., a company of aggregates for civil construction. The development of the work followed the traditional methodology of dynamic simulation as problem definition, data collection, model creation, validation and execution. The validation criterion considered was the comparison of the actual production with the simulated one, considering a tolerable error of 5%. The validated model allowed us to simulate several scenarios with different numbers of trucks and to evaluate the system in terms of fleet size, crusher efficiency and operational criteria. It was possible to verify that the smallest fleet that allows to maximize the crusher consists of 3 trucks and that the model can be used to dimension and to maximize any system of loading and transport, changing only the operational data.
