Participation in public problems involves diverse strategies, including the challenging and transformation of hegemonic affective configurations. By exposing and disrupting the established emotional norms, actors gain affective agency, enabling resistance against the prevailing status quo and facilitating active engagement in democratic deliberation. To explore this idea, we present a sociocultural analysis of the Empty Spain Revolt (Revuelta de la España Vaciada) as a compelling case study. Employing semiotic-enunciational discourse analysis, we focus on the affective-emotional dimension, utilizing the movement’s Manifesto and photographs of banners from the March 31, 2019, demonstration in Madrid as our primary sources. Our research reveals the emergence of affective agency through three gestures: 1) Indignation as a Catalyst: Indignation serves as a driving emotion, stemming from frustration due to perceived neglect. This emotion fosters the assignment of responsibility to political parties and fuels demands for immediate action. 2) Pride and Urban-Rural Dynamics: The appeal to urban subject emphasizes the interdependence between urban and rural areas, advocating for justice, equality, and rural dignity. 3) From Resignation to Obstinance: The transition from a resigned figure to an obstinate figure shifts the enunciative agency. The resolute voices of the obstinate subject sustain a collective identity and enable a politically active subject. Our analysis underscores the pivotal role of affects and emotions in shaping public problems and in the articulation of actor. The process of dismantling existing affective configurations and presenting alternative ones not only influences encyclopedias and imaginaries but also impacts collective agency and power structures. Although it is a promising theory for understanding complex ongoing political processes, historical institutionalism has rarely been used to adress urban management and urban planning issues. We aim to (re)construct the trajectory of management and dissemination of communication and information technologies (ICTs) in Curitiba to identify critical junctures and events. Methodologically, it is a case study based on documents and discourse analysis. The results show that Curitiba used to be avant-garde in technological diffusion but today it develops more responsive than anticipatory actions; over time, the role of technology diffusion and management shifted from the urban management and planning structure to the direct municipal administration structure; technological initiatives have always taken place and are taking place sharply and decentrally for the consolidation of an ecosystem; the ideals of forming a digital or a smart city were motivators of Curitiba's current situation. The ideology underlying the game of politicians and party affiliations has been put aside in alignments of local groups to carry out technological adjustments; and that the management and diffusion of ICTs remain controversial in political disputes. The conclusion is that the political-technology dyad has absorbed the impacts of critical events, resulting in the remodeling of municipal institutions and organizations linked to the management and diffusion of ICTs that also need to deal with the game of interests and external pressures. The establishment of the modern state in contemporary Iran brought about a fundamental change in the traditional education. The special function of the educational institution in its modern form is to reproduce and institutionalize the ideology of politics. Emphasis on the ancient history of Iran and the central role of the emperor in the Iranian political system during the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi has been formulated as an external manifestation of nationalism in various studies, but the intentional injection of this ideology into the content of history textbooks has not been studied by any researcher. In the present study, from this perspective, attention has been paid to how national components are reflected in textbooks through linguistic analysis. The technique used in the linguistic analysis of the content of history textbooks in the second Pahlavi period in this research is derived from the research of Ruth Wodak (2015) in this field. She pays attention to 5 different levels of language formation stages for the formulation of scientific propositions. Therefore, this study, in the dialectic between history and ideology and power, seeks to investigate the strategies of political institutions (second Pahlavi era) in creating the text, interpretation, and the selection of historical propositions by examining the content of history textbooks according to Ruth Wodak’s approach of historical discourse analysis. Introduction: The educational function of the nursing role is considered an instance of link with the community. Objective: to unveil health promotion practices based on educational radio advertisements of nurses in 1983 in Chile. Material and method: qualitative perspective, with linguistically oriented discourse analysis, and review of the literature in databases: Scielo, Google scholar, Science direct, with keywords: community health nursing, role of the nurse, health education, history of nursing. Results: the education function in the nursing role shows power edges and is associated with the political context of the time. The care of the child and the family is associated with the responsibility of the woman, with explicit instructions that the mother must comply with in order to obtain optimal health for her children. Hygiene measures such as hand washing are strongly instilled in the prevention of infectious - contagious diseases. Discussion and Conclusion: Health promotion, exercised as a radio educational activity, was an alternative for linking and channeling with the most vulnerable population, to achieve states of family well-being and made it possible to make visible the educational function of the role of professional nurses. This article analyzes and compares the following of Twitter users during the two electoral debates of the general elections in Spain in April and November 2019. Through the collection of the official hashtags #ElDebateDecisivo (970,706 tweets) and #DebateElectoral (821,521) respectively from 9 am on the day of the debate until 2 am the following day, we analyzed the polarity and basic emotions of the messages posted on the social network using algorithms with R software. A network theory study was also carried out to determine each account's affiliation to each group. The results show a polarization in the network, with well-defined groups with hardly any relationship with other groups of different ideologies. It is also observed that the entry of a new player, Vox, into the second debate completely alters the rest of the centerright parties, which end up seeing it from a much more negative perspective. The hegemonic economic model based on commodity extraction has subjected the people of the countryside and forests to processes of expropriation and violence in Brazil. The appropriation of common goods, the concentration of land, and agrochemical dependence, make unveiling the ideological-conceptual construction of agribusiness centered on economic indicators that are anchored in the maintenance of subsidies provided by a bourgeois state - which facilitates the commodity corporations' subsumption of land rent and life - essential. We analyzed the political-discursive strategies undertaken by agribusiness, identifying the hegemonic characteristics and unity of discourse as a conceptual site to persuade society. Finally, we assess the Bolsonaro administration's ongoing strategies to enable the appropriation of protected territories in provisioning expanded capital accumulation via agribusiness and mining. This article discusses reading and reading comprehension, based on notions coming from Psycholinguistics and Discourse Analysis. In this act, we aim to promote an approximation between these areas in order to construct a vision that can be applied to the understanding of language in use, as the ability to read, taken in its polysemic fashion, lends itself to the interpretation of various semiosis. After conducting a bibliographic review, we present these perspectives and submit them to a dialogue. In this discussion, it was possible to understand that both strands of study contemplate the relations among author-text-reader, which indicates that the construction of meaning is a process related to social practices. Inclusion is a process full of signs that highlight trajectories, experiences, practices and subjectivities related to deaf students in regular schools. About this, we aim to problematize some of the signs of inclusion of these students through some curricular assumptions that have as basis to contribute with the idea of an "education for all", asking: what such assumptions through homogenization have signaled about deaf subjects and their schooling? Therefore, we opted for Discourse Analysis of some Brazilian documents at the Ministry of Education level, since this movement of analysis allows us to perceive some discourses and practices of "education for all" to define - to a lesser or greater degree - the curricula schoolchildren, which signal a repositioning of different ways of discussing deafness and the deaf in a context closer (or not) to their condition of cultural, social and linguistic difference. At the same time, we encourage school alternatives to think of the deaf as an author and actor of a minority culture, as a user of a natural language, as a heterogeneous group that demands a bilingual and multicultural education, although they belong to curricular policies that often grant little space for them. that. This essay aims at describing the process carried out during the master's thesis in the Postgraduate Program in Languages, in the area of Language Studies, with the French Discourse Analysis approach, whose pillars are Dominique Maingueneau and Michel Foucault. However, here, the method of cartography will be presented based on a Deleuzian perspective, having as main theoretical support the book Pistas do Método da Cartografia: pesquisa-intervenção e produção de subjetividade. The result is the possibility of narratively intertwining theory and practice, presenting the power of this method in areas of science beyond psychology. In this article we have studied the conflict around scientific discourses as power speeches in two environmental conflicts in the city of Cordoba, Argentina - Pueblos Unidos and Vudas against Porta company. We have worked with 20 in depth interviews combining content analysis and discourse analysis techniques. From the analysis emerge two body configurations: First, environmental affected that refers to the contaminated bodies and to the conflictive relation with the scientific discourse that, articulated with the interests of capital does not account for the affliction presented by the bodies. Second, the existence of healthy bodies, free of pollution and the denunciation of scientific discoursed for manipulating the studies in order to sustain the idea of pollution. In conclusion, the scientific discourse functions as a discourse of power that goes through the struggles. The different configuration of bodies in each case is explained as an effectuation of the singular articulation that has occurred between the different fractions of capital and the scientific discourse. This paper presents a dialogical analysis of discourses with intolerant tones against President Dilma Rousseff published by mass media during her impeachment process. Based on a dialogical perspective on discourse, it analyzes verbal and visual utterances from magazine Isto É, in its April 06, 2016 issue, and from newspaper Folha de S. Paulo, in its May 02, 2016 issue. We observe how media produces those discourses and targets subjects with intolerance. Our results reveal that while intolerant tones are addressed to a specific victim, they also presuppose a chorus of support from those who share their values and feed their production, reception, and transmission. This process encourages intolerance and polarization within society. The arguments made in this paper lead us to think about the relevant role played by a responsible media that respects differences and is proactive, critical, investigative, and committed to social issues. Objective: to identify nurses' social representations about the relationship among prostitution, health and the Family Health Strategy. Method: qualitative study supported by the Theory of Social Representations, carried out with 12 nurses from the Family Health Strategy. Data collection used the Free Words Association technique and structured interviews. The data were organized using an association of the lexical content and the Collective Subject Discourse, presented in a figure and tables, analyzed in a descriptive and interpretative way. Results: the social representations of the nurses influence the actions and behaviors offered insofar as they are restricted to the sexual and reproductive sphere, to the detriment of the contextual aspects of everyday life, work and health. Conclusion: nurses' social representations link sexual practices to the risk of catching sexually transmitted infections and lacks the articulation of health promotion and the principle of integrality. In recent decades quantitative studies have documented an increase in paternal involvement. These changes have led to hypotheses of a new model of fatherhood. The aim of this paper is to explore the discourses of Spanish fathers regarding paternal involvement, identifying its structure and changing tendencies. The analysis is based on eight focus groups conducted in Madrid and Barcelona. Among the main findings we emphasize that the transition of fatherhood, not without contradictions, is causing the traditional homogeneous fatherhood to evolve toward a more complex and multidimensional conceptualization. The article analyses and compares the thinking on citizen participation of elected and non-elected officials, as well as social activists of the Spanish cities of Madrid, Barcelona, San Sebastián and Lleida. The research is based on Q methodology, whose combination of quantitative and qualitative elements can generate systematic, rigorous and quantifiable evidence, without sacrificing the complexity and richness of language. The results reveal three distinct perspectives on participation (integral, regenerative and distrustful), that differ notably in their appreciation of political institutions and social organizations. However, results also point to the existence of a core of consensus beliefs, which opens the door to building more legitimate and effective participatory institutions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The aim of this paper is to understand how discourses of electronic media present reflections and refractions of resistance practices of the youth in organizational spaces as shopping malls ; these practices are currently known as Rolezinhos. Originality/gap/relevance/implications: Considering urban spaces as socially produced and cities as practical and discursive stages of symbolic dynamics of segregation, we discuss the processes of occupation of shopping malls in the city of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, by youngsters from run-down areas, named Rolezinhos by electronic media. Key methodological aspects: We adopted the French Discourse Analysis as the basis of analysis of this research. The analysis corpus consists of discourses present in fifteen electronic news portals of the city of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, which produced during the year 2013 eighteen reports on the collective occupation of shopping malls by youngsters from run-down areas. Summary of key results: Resistance practices have expanded the boundaries of organizational spaces once they displace control points of the actions of subjects and question the construction of the shopping malls as organizational space to segregate disadvantaged social groups, emphasizing the potential for resistance and reframing of groups marginalized in these organizations. Key considerations/conclusions: We understand the "rolezinhos" as achallenge of the limits of organizational space that produced border displacement of organizations. They are effects of changes in the relations of socioeconomic forces that were in the streets and, when expanded into organizational spaces, caused tensions which remain latent because the streets continue their dynamics and will again challenge these boundaries. When gamers, especially of MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games) like World of Warcraft®, talk to one another they adapt language to their needs, as do all speakers. It is a common misconception that expressions such as smileys, acronyms and neologisms are a deterioration of current language. On the contrary, they can be regarded as instances of creativity, efficiency and in-group markers. Moreover, these expressions help gamers to position themselves in conversations, thus they can be regarded as active interaction strategies in the gaming discourse. But while communication is of crucial importance to achieve goals and for role-playing in MMORPGs, there are many communicative challenges for gamers, such as high-stress situations, missing paralinguistic cues and intercultural obstacles. This article aims to broaden understanding of the phenomenon of legitimacy of civil society organizations (CSOs), interpreting it in the light of the critical capacity theory, proposed by Boltanski and Thévenot (2006). More specifically, it identifies, by means of discourse analysis of representative actors from the field, which are the justifications supporting the action and existence of CSOs, providing them with legitimacy. Having as a basis the theoretical framework and an analysis of the trajectory of the field in Brazil, some hypotheses were formulated: 1) that several reasonings are used in the justifications; 2) that the meeting between these reasonings provokes disputes and conflicts; 3) that it enables constructing footbridges; and 4) that there are predominant reasonings isolating the existence of other ones. Through discourse content analysis of 46 representative actors of the field of CSOs in the Brazilian South region, the hypotheses were tested and we found out that the predominant legitimacy dimensions in these CSOs are the pragmatic and moral, which stimulate the adaptation of CSOs to externally set standards, making plurality and, thus, democracy in the field weaker.
