With the development of geospatial information science and technology and applications in numerous areas, cartography and geospatial information education is becoming increasingly more important in training graduates equipped with new capacities. Cartography and geospatial information education are crucial to cartography and geospatial information science, as a discipline and a profession. The contents have always gradually been changing, as well as corresponding effective approaches to deliver sustainable and resilient education. In the new normal era of post COVID-19, summaries and reflections on the progress of available practices and theories can support better design of effective and quality education. In this paper, the conference papers and abstracts on educational topics published in the last 10 International Cartography Conferences are used to trace the path that educators in cartography and geospatial information have gone through. Bibliometric analysis is conducted on educational topics, authors, and regions. A domain term knowledge map is drawn showing that the number of publications on education in the International Cartography Conferences has been increasing. The geographic distribution of authors is very concentrated, with authors from European countries contributing about 50% of the publications and those from the top ten countries contributing 60%. Works in many other regions are less reported. The research topics are mainly focused on undergraduate and graduate education in geographic information systems, secondary education, education atlas, learning theories, learning environmental design, online education, etc. Pedagogies and experience of distance learning and online education in the last 20 years have been well applied. However best practices of online and distance education are rarely reported to support effective new normal education in the context of COVID-19 pandemics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aims to clarify the term CSR. In the aftermath of the events of 2020, the interest in analysing the concept pre- and post-pandemic is crucial. The first mentions of the concept date back to the 19th century. The most important development occurred in the second half of the 20th century. There is no generally accepted definition of CSR. They coincide in the concern for environmental, social and economic areas. And in attending to stakeholders. Companies are pursuing the SDGs and have opted to apply CSR in companies in the wake of the pandemic. Organisations have found their most supportive side in this health crisis situation. This paper addresses what I consider to be the world's main problems, although I recognise that there are also other problems at present, such as inflation and the war in Ukraine. I will try to address the main problems, which are of interest to CIRIEC, which is an international organisation that pays particular attention to what is called the Third Sector" or "Social Economy", an area that lies between the private business sector and the government despite I am not, I must admit, an expert in this last field. I will deal with it in the context of discussing a couple of problems we face in the world that I think are really important. The first problem is economic inequality, which I know something about. The second problem is climate change and environmental problems, which I think are the most important. I will also refer at the end to some problems related to the COVID pandemic. Seventy-five years ago, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights promoted a vision of education “directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms" (United Nations, 1948, 26.2). In 2015, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) took this further, stating in SDG 4 that “the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes required by citizens to lead productive lives, make informed decisions and assume active roles locally and globally in facing and resolving global challenges can be acquired through education for sustainable development and global citizenship education” (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization [UNESCO], 2016, p. 14). What might the adoption of this educational mission involve for higher education? And what does it mean in a challenging global context following the COVID pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine? This paper argues that the current global tumult should catalyse reflection as to the purpose and content of higher education. It focuses on the importance of education for “values and attitudes”, emphasized as an essential component of global citizenship and leadership education in the rubric of SDG 4. It proposes a return to the philosophical categories of “character” and “virtue”, arguing that the societal orientation of global universities and their aspiration “to educate the citizens and citizen-leaders for our society” (Harvard College, 2022) necessitates a renewal of theoretically rigorous, pedagogically effective, and practically relevant character education. Along the first lockdown of the world because of covid 19 pandemic, the professional media regained their monopoly of reliable information linked to the health crisis of all kinds: political, social and economic thanks to the journalism of quality. Journalists were on the front lines to ensure the necessary and reliable information for their audiences during the unprecedent global pandemic crisis. The public was in need of exact news and this was assured by the quality journalism only in field and online. Professional journalists were in the frontline but this had its cost. This paper deals with the issue of the safety of journalists in the practice of their profession during the 2020 crisis, in several countries. Thematic analysis is applied to examine the challenges, risks and fears of journalists during that time through individual and collective experiences of journalists, testified, published in media articles or expressed on professional forums around the world. In some countries the journalism was considered as "a public good" and so media organizations have taken the necessary measures to ensure a safe functioning during lockdown periods but political power has stigmatized journalists and puts more pressure on them than in normal times. There have been even more restrictions on access to official information and several cases of journalist's imprisonment and harassment are reported. The data analysis show evidence of lack of physical, psychological, financial and digital security protection of journalists in several areas of the world. The pandemic influenced to worsen the basic conditions for a quality journalism to live. Introduction: This paper presents the results of cognitive and emotional representation of COVID-19 in the sample of adult Poles during the peak of the second wave of the pandemic (November-December 2020). Aims: The study was designed to investigate the mental and emotional representation of COVID-19 in adult Poles. It was hypothesised that the representation would have a different structure depending on gender, age, education as well as personal experience of COVID-19 or other medical conditions. Methods: The survey was carried out in November and December 2020, and involved two hundred Polish adults aged 17 to 58 years (Mage = 32.59, SD = 10.19). The subjects were surveyed via the Google Forms web survey platform. A link to the survey was sent to the participants on Facebook. Results: Three in four respondents were found to believe that COVID-19 indeed existed, and that a virus was the most important cause of the problem. According to nearly one in two respondents, the effects of the disease were exaggerated by the mass media. On average, the respondents tend to believe that the severity of the disease may be controlled by one's behaviour. The emotional representation of COVID-19 reflected predominantly negative emotions. The respondents were convinced that the disease led to significant consequences affecting the domains of personal life and work. Discussion: According to many participants, the effects of the disease are overestimated in media reports. The lack of knowledge about neurological and neuropsychological complications suggests that this aspect of the disease is insufficiently emphasised in the mass media during the second wave of the pandemic. Conclusions: Individual variables and experience of COVID-19 affect one's cognitive and emotional representation of the disease and one's beliefs concerning the mitigation of risks. This means that any future information related to COVID-19, and the promotion of knowledge concerning the possible mechanisms of disease development, must be conveyed in a way adjusted to gender and age as well as the level of education. The need to continue to offer professional assessment services in pandemic situations has given rise to the remote use of tests designed for face-to-face administration. This practice of tele-assessment modifies the original conditions in which the test was constructed, standardized and validated, and therefore should be accompanied by an analysis of the potential risks. This paper describes the threats associated with remote test use, and suggests several recommendations to mitigate them. When considering the remote administration of tests that have been constructed to be used in person, the professional should be aware of the risks and benefits associated with this practice, and once these have been evaluated, he or she should act accordingly. In this retrospective unicenter study we aimed to outline the key features of the first 100 cases of COVID-19 hospitalized in our clinic after designation of it as front line unit for hospitalization of these cases. Thus, the average age of cases was 44.7 years (SD: 15.9) and the prevalence of female was 57.4%. By age groups, prevalence of young patients (7.8%) was significantly (p < 0.05) lower than the prevalence of adult patients (77.2%). The most prevalent occupation (31.7%) was healthcare worker. The most frecvent exposure to source of infection was represented by attending healthcare facilities (44.6%), followed by having contact with COVID-19 confirmed/suspect case (30.7%), and recent international travel (18.8%). Of the 30% of cases in which at least one health precondition was recorded the most prevalent (13.9%) of such condition was chronic cardiovascular disease including high blood presure. In regard with severity, to note that 6 patients died within 14 days of hospital admission, all fatalities have occurred in very old patients and 83.3% of them had chronic kidney disease.
