The article reports on the results of the Farm Rents 2007/2008 survey of the British Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), which found that arable farms in England saw a 5% decline in average full agricultural tenancy (FAT) rents in 2007 as dairy farmers posted a 10% gain. A 2.1% drop on the average price of all FAT agreements has been reported across all sectors. A 0.9% gain has been reported in farm business tenancy (FBT) agreements during the same period, particularly in the cereals sector.
