The article discusses a research study which investigated the prevalence of laterality defects other than situs inversus totalis in primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD). Study results are presented including the presence of electron microscopic defects and PCD-causing gene mutations. Data provided shows the laterality defects included in situs ambiguus (SA) subgroups, the demographics and clinical features of participants with SA, and the diagnostic testing of participants with classic PCD and SA.
