Background and Objectives: Patient satisfaction surveys are implemented as an essential quality improvement tool in healthcare markets. This study investigates patient satisfaction in public secondary and tertiary hospitals and identifies factors contributing to inpatient satisfaction, particularly trust-related factors, to eventually improve the quality of care in the healthcare system. Methods: A population-based cross-sectional survey was conducted between February and April 2021 in 31 Chinese provinces. Telephone interviews with computer assistance were used to gather data. Spearman Rank Correlation was used to analyze satisfaction with hospitalization services between secondary and tertiary hospitals. Multiple Linear Regression was used to determine the influencing factors of overall patient satisfaction. Results: Inpatients reported more satisfaction with inpatient care when doctors treated them respectfully (p < 0.01). Inpatients with higher self-identified social class reported higher satisfaction (p < 0.01). Inpatients who trust in most people in society (p < 0.01) and trust in the Chinese healthcare system (p < 0.01) reported higher satisfaction. Female inpatients reported higher overall satisfaction (p < 0.01). Conclusions: The study of Chinese inpatients in secondary and tertiary hospitals highlighted the importance of respect from doctors, their self-identified social class, and their trust in influencing satisfaction during their hospital stay and called for additional research into policy measures. Objective: This study compared the effects of virtual reality-assisted gait adaptation training with the overground gait adaptation training on balance and walking in patients with stroke. Methods: Fifty-four eligible patients were enrolled. All patients were randomly divided into a virtual reality and control group, with 27 patients in each group. The virtual reality group received virtual reality-assisted training on the treadmill, whereas the control group received overground training in a physical therapy room. After the intervention, patients were assessed using walking speed, obstacle avoidance ability, Timed Up and Go test, postural stability, and the Barthel Index. Results: Significant improvements in walking speed, obstacle avoidance ability, Timed Up and Go test, and eye-opening center of pressure speed were observed after the intervention (P < 0.05). No statistically significant differences were found in eye-closing center of pressure speed, tandem center of pressure speed, single-leg center of pressure speed, and Barthel Index (P > 0.05). Conclusions: Stroke patients may benefit fromvirtual reality-assisted gait adaptation training in improving walking and static balance function and reducing the risk of falls. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: In China, there are large differences between regions in the use of gastroscopies and public awareness of upper gastrointestinal (UGI) screening. Objective: This study investigated the current context and analyzed the barriers that influence UGI screening behavior among the general population in UGI cancer high-prevalence areas. Methods: A total of 320 participants anonymously answered an online questionnaire. The rank sum test was used to analyze the difference in the scores of the UGI screening awareness questionnaire among participants with different socio-demographic characteristics. Using the awareness level of UGI screening and gastroscopy as the dependent variable, and the socio-demographic characteristics as the independent variable, simple linear regression and binary logistic regression analysis were used to determine the factors influencing attitudes toward gastroscopy screening. We used Spearman's correlation analysis to examine the correlation between UGI screening awareness level and willingness to undergo a gastroscopy. Results: There was a correlation between the willingness to undergo gastroscopy and the awareness level of UGI screening (r = 0.243, p < 0.001). Linear regression analysis found that age, type of residence, education level, employment status, monthly income, history of gastroscopy, dietary habits, physical exercise, and convenience in obtaining information were significantly correlated with the awareness level of UGI screening (p < 0.05). Binary logistic regression analysis found that factors significantly associated with gastric cancer screening behavior include residence, monthly income, and self-perceived health status (p  < 0.05). Conclusion: It is necessary to improve education about UGI cancer and screening knowledge, with a focus on populations with lower education and income. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
