Purpose: This paper constitutes the first academic study to be made of Google Discover as applied to online journalism. Design/methodology/approach: This paper constitutes the first academic study to be made of Google Discover as applied to online journalism. The study involved conducting 61 semi-structured interviews with experts that are representative of a range of different professional profiles within the fields of journalism and search engine positioning (SEO) in Brazil, Spain and Greece. Based on the data collected, the authors created five semantic categories and compared the experts' perceptions in order to detect common response patterns. Findings: This study results confirm the existence of different degrees of convergence and divergence in the opinions expressed in these three countries regarding the main dimensions of Google Discover, including specific strategies using the feed, its impact on web traffic, its impact on both quality and sensationalist content and on the degree of responsibility shown by the digital media in its use. The authors are also able to propose a set of best practices that journalists and digital media in-house web visibility teams should take into account to increase their probability of appearing in Google Discover. To this end, the authors consider strategies in the following areas of application: topics, different aspects of publication, elements of user experience, strategic analysis and diffusion and marketing. Summary: An adaptation of the portfolio theory (PT) is proposed in this article, denoted as PrevPT, "Previsão" (in Portuguese) by PT, to integrate the three artificial neural networks, namely multilayer perceptron (MLP) backpropagation, radial basis function (RBF), and self‐organizing map (SOM), based forecasting techniques, aiming to analyze the impact of wind speed forecasting errors and achieve more accurate results. In its first use, the PT goal was to maximize a financial return, at any risk, through the diversification of securities or investments that are not positively correlated. Based on the development of PrevPT, which was used until this work only for solar forecasting, the proposed technique is applied in this paper to integrate and improve the results of individual wind forecasts. Four‐year wind speed data (January 2007 to December 2010) from two different locations (Algeciras, Spain and Petrolina, Brazil) were used. Our methodology develops a topology that integrates the forecasts obtained by MLP, RBF, and SOM aiming to obtain smaller forecast errors. By diversifying the forecasted asset, when one of the assets has negative prediction errors, another compensates for them and, thus, the total or partial cancellation of the errors occurs. PrevPT obtains a mean absolute percentage error of 1.13% for Spain and 2.35% for Brazil. PrevPT surpassed the results obtained by the three techniques applied individually in the two locations. The main innovations of the methodology are the significant reduction of errors and optimization of resource planning, and the beneficial features compared to other predictor integration techniques. Background: Emotional blunting—inability to feel positive or negative emotions, detachment, or reduced emotional responsiveness—is common in people with depression. However, there is a paucity of studies comprehensively investigating this symptom and its functional impact. This study investigated the experience of emotional blunting, and its impact on overall functioning and quality of life, in the acute and remission phases of depression from the perspective of patients and healthcare providers. This paper presents data on the clinical presentation of emotional blunting in depression from the patient perspective. Methods: Cross-sectional, observational study conducted in Brazil, Canada, and Spain between April 15 and May 18, 2021. Data were collected via a self-completed online survey. Respondents were adults with depression (acute or remission phase), who were currently using a prescribed antidepressant, and who reported emotional blunting during the past 6 weeks. Emotional blunting was assessed using the Oxford Depression Questionnaire (ODQ; total score range 26–130, higher scores indicate greater emotional blunting). Results: In all, 752 patients completed the survey (62% female; mean age, 45 years). Overall, 44% of patients rated their emotional blunting as extremely severe (acute phase [n = 300], 72%; remission phase [n = 452], 25%; difference, p < 0.01). In all, 56% of patients considered their emotional blunting to be caused by their depression (acute phase, 62%; remission phase, 52%). Mean ODQ total score was 94.8 for patients in the acute phase of depression and 85.7 for those in remission (difference, p < 0.01). Mean score for the ODQ 'antidepressant as cause' domain (maximum possible score, 30) was 18.0 in patients in the acute phase and 17.6 in those in remission. Overall, 45% of patients believed that their antidepressant medication was blunting their emotions and 39% were considering stopping or had already stopped their antidepressant because of perceived emotion-related side effects. Conclusions: Almost three-quarters of patients in the acute phase of depression and one-quarter of those in remission reported severe emotional blunting. Approximately 56% of patients considered their emotional blunting to be caused by their depression, while 45% believed that their antidepressant medication was negatively affecting their emotions. Objective: this paper aims to exemplify and analyze each of the operational steps of the MSDO / MDSO technique in order to reduce the systemic complexity in the use of the csQCA method, with the support of the MDSO / MSDO web application. Methodological Design: Comparative analysis: more different cases with equal results and more similar cases with different results (MDSO / MSDO). An application of the technique was carried out to identify the causal conditions that explain the differences in innovative performance in 26 innovation networks in Brazil and Spain. Results From the twenty causal conditions analyzed, which were grouped into four categories (clusters) called Structural, Human, Financial and Organizational Resources, eight causal conditions explaining the difference in performance were identified. Methodological implications: Considering that one of the main problems in social research, including recent innovation studies, is the size of systemic complexity. The difficulty of reducing systemic complexity has been manifested repeatedly when researchers in the field of Administration and Innovation have used case analysis with binary data, called Crisp Set Comparative Qualitative Analyzes - csQCA. The present study aimed to review the research literature on aquatic exercise for health promotion using bibliometric methods and CiteSpace software. The number of studies related to this topic are constantly expanding, with the USA, Brazil, and Australia the centers of this research. Most published papers fall within Sports Science, but the disciplines of Physiology, Psychology, and Rehabilitation were also found to be dominant domains for this literature. The seven most prolific authors were from Brazil or Spain. The most frequently cited references focused on sub-topics of physiology, biochemistry, physical fitness, psychological health, cardiovascular disease, and joint disease. New research trends have shifted to the promotion of cardiovascular health in clinical populations (stroke, overweight, hypertension, endothelium dysfunctional, obese, inflammation, antioxidant, heart failure). Bay beaches are common coastal landforms along the world's coastlines and have frequently been used as equilibrium coastal systems to mitigate erosion problems and stabilize coasts. Throughout the literature, several formulae can be found to obtain the static equilibrium planform (SEP) of such beaches on the leeward sides of single protruding headland structures. However, equations used to define SEP behind breakwater gaps are rare and based on a limited number of studies, especially when the obliquity angle (β) is large. This paper proposes a new formula for modelling the SEP of bay beaches that includes cases with planform shapes characterized by large obliquity angles (β > 75°) for which the SEP is almost quasi-semicircular. The formula represents a general form of the parabolic bay shape equation (PBSE) with modified coefficients to alter the planform's curvature to be quasi-semicircular, mimicking the behavior of such bays in nature. The coefficients are expressed as functions of both the obliquity angle (β) and the curvature-adjustment angle (φ), which was determined based on field observations of the best-fitting SEP of 26 bay beaches with (β > 75°) along the coasts of Spain, Portugal and Brazil. Additionally, 32 beach cases characterized by smaller obliquity angles (β < 70°) were included in the derivation of the curvature adjustment angle, which was expressed as a function of (β). The model showed good results in modelling the SEP, with an RMSE of 0.90° obtained when estimating the planform's curvature-adjustment angle (φ) to obtain quasi-semicircular planform shapes for the prototype cases, confirming its utility as a valuable tool for engineering applications. • Static equilibrium planforms (SEPs) characterized by large obliquity angles are modelled. • A new formula was derived to plot the (SEP) of bay beaches behind gaps when (β > 75°). • A curvature-adjustment angle is used to alter the SEP's curvature based on field cases. • The SEP is quasi-semicircular for pocket beaches behind breakwater gaps when (β > 75°). • The curvature-adjustment angle is directly proportional to the obliquity angle (β).
