BACKGROUND: With the continuous improvement and progress of the magnetically controlled growing rod technology in the field of the treatment of spinal deformities, numerous studies have been put into this field, but the main research status, hot spots, and development trends are not clear enough. OBJECTIVE: Based on bibliometrics, this paper discusses the quality and quantity of articles in the field of using magnetically controlled growing rods to treat spinal deformities from different countries, aiming to clarify the global development trend of magnetically controlled growing rods and evaluate the research productivity, research trends, and research hotspots in the world. METHODS: The articles published from 1998 to 2023 were retrieved mainly based on the Web of Science database. CiteSpace 5.8 and VOSviewer 1.6.19 software were used to analyze the data and generate a visual knowledge map. The following parameters were evaluated for all studies: the total number of published papers, centrality, h index, the contribution of countries, authors, and journals, and the trend and hot spots were explored through the analysis of co-citation, highly cited literature, and literature keyword explosion. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Finally, 138 articles were included. From 2009 to 2020, the number of published articles in this field gradually increased. The United States has the largest number of articles (53, 37.32%), and the United States has the highest h index and centrality of articles. (2) The results of keyword analysis showed that: the top ten keywords, such as early-onset scoliosis, surgery, complications, and so on, objectively and truly reflected the current situation and hot spots of magnetically controlled growing rod in the field of spinal deformity treatment. In recent years, the research focus in this field is the treatment failure caused by risk factors such as the pull-out of the magnetically controlled growing rod, implantation failure, and rod fracture, the accurate use of the corresponding medical classification, the monitoring and treatment of complications such as quality of life and cerebral palsy. (3) The co-citation results showed that: combined with the innovative and effective research of the magnetically controlled growing rod technology, the classification application of spinal deformity and the monitoring and treatment of related complications may be the research trend in this field. (4) Many highly cited articles further emphasized the therapeutic effect of magnetically controlled growing rod technology, providing an effective new idea and technical support for the field of spinal deformity correction. (5) The results of literature keyword explosion analysis demonstrate that the risk factors, medical classification, quality of life, and cerebral palsy of the application of magnetically controlled growing rods may become the research frontier in this field. (6) It can be seen that the application of magnetically controlled growing rod technology in the classification of spinal deformities and the in-depth study of related complications are the development trend in this field, but to further understand the effectiveness and safety of magnetically controlled growing rod technology in the treatment of spinal deformities, we still need long-term follow-up evidence. The overall research level of this field has steadily improved in recent years, but there are also problems such as the small number of high-quality articles and the unbalanced development of research in various regions. Since the signing of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in 1992, the United States has shown a sometimes conservative and sometimes radical pendulum in its position on several key subsidiary climate treaties. For example, in 1997, the United States Congress refused to approve the Kyoto Protocol signed by former US vice president Al Gore. In 2015, President Obama used executive power to bypass Congress to sign the Paris Agreement. In 2017, President Trump announced the withdrawal of the US from the Paris Agreement. These seemingly confusing behaviors actually reflect the contradictions and conflicts in the formulation of climate policy of the United States. Using neoclassical realism theory as the analytical framework, the authors of this paper explore how such several key variables as leader image and perception, partisan politics, and civil society and lobbying groups shape the climate policy of the United States. Rural domestic wastewater in China has scattered discharge, difficult centralized treatment, and a wide pollution area, which has caused serious water environment pollution in rural areas. This is a prominent problem for the improvement of the rural living environment at present in China. After more than 100 years of development, rural decentralized wastewater treatment in the United States is well developed, with lessons worth learning for our country. By examining the development process for rural wastewater treatment in the United States, this paper summarizes successful experiences from rural decentralized wastewater treatment in the United States in relevant policies and laws, application technology, technical specifications and standards, financial support, and operation management. These findings offer important insights for rural wastewater treatment in China. BACKGROUND: Development of tissue engineering is of great social and economic significance. Understanding the basic research strength of China in the main subfields of tissue engineering can provide reference for the optimization of resources allocation and for the formulation of corresponding development strategies. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the basic research strength of China in the main subfields of tissue engineering. METHODS: PubMed was searched for basic research and top basic research articles in the subfields of tissue engineering (including bone and cartilage, nerve, blood vessel, liver, skin, heart, and eye tissue engineering) in the world, the United States and China. By comparing with the global average and American, Chinese basic research strength in the main subfields of tissue engineering was evaluated with indicators including the number of papers, the growth rate of papers, and the number and proportion of top papers. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) The number of basic research papers pubIished by Chinese institutions in the subfields of bone and cartilage tissue engineering, nerve tissue engineering, vessel tissue engineering, liver tissue engineering, skin tissue engineering, cardiac tissue engineering and eye tissue engineering was 4 487, 3 551, 2 869, 1 328, 1 185, 1 088 and 689, respectively, accounting for 10%-15% of worldwide papers in corresponding subfields. The amount of papers published by Chinese institutions was nearly half of that published by institutions of the United States for the first five subfields, but only 32.1% and 37.8% of that published by institutions of the United States for the latter two subfields. (2) The annual growth rate of papers published by Chinese institutions was 19.3%, 19.5%, 18.2%, 14.6%, 21.8%, 19.6% and 19.6%, respectively, for the above seven subfrelds, all of which were obviously higher than that of the global average and the United States. (3) The number of top papers published by Chinese institutions was 36, 31, 33, 24, 15, 24 and 12, and the proportion of top papers published by Chinese institutions was 0.8%, 0.9%, 1.2%, 1.8%, 1.3%, 2.2% and 1.7%, respectively, all of which were obviously lower than that of the global average and the United States. (4) China has published relatively more papers on bone and cartilage tissue engineering, nerve tissue engineering and vessel tissue engineering, and relatively less papers on cardiac tissue engineering and eye tissue engineering. The amount of papers published by Chinese institutions has been growing rapidly in each of the seven main subfields of tissue engineering, with the speed of growing being obviously higher than that of the global average and the United States. BACKGROUND: It has been recognized that breast cancer stem cells play an important role in the occurrence, development, metastasis, recurrence and drug resistance of breast cancer, but the action mechanism of breast cancer stem cells in it is still unclear, and the treatment of breast cancer needs further improvement. OBJECTIVE: To explore the research status and development trend in the field of breast cancer stem cells from 2011 to 2020. METHODS: The relevant literature data in the field of breast cancer stem cell research were obtained from the Web of Science database, and the two-dimensional bar diagram of the corresponding data was drawn by Microsoft excel 2019. The co-occurrence analysis function of VOSviewer software was used to draw the co-occurrence analysis chart of keywords and its superposition with time. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) A total of 1 013 papers were included in this study. The number of papers, the H index, and the number of citations from the United States were the first in the world. The number of the literature on oncology is the largest. Sun Yat-Sen University is the largest producer of literature. WICHA MS is the author with the largest number of publications. National Natural Science Foundation of China supports the largest number of outputs. The largest number of publications is published in the ONCOTARGET. (2) The combination of chemotherapy and metformin and targeted antiangiogenic therapy are the key research contents in oncology. (3) In gene genetics, sox2, ezh2, and nanog are the key genes. (4) In the treatment of breast cancer stem cells, epithelial-mesenchymal transition is the main research content. (5) In molecular biology, cd24 and cd44 are the key biomarkers. (6) “Nuclear factor-κB” and “stemness” are the closest keywords to the present time. (7) Recombinant human receptor tyrosine kinase HRG/ErbB3 signals related to the nuclear factor-κB pathway, Pterostilbene and disulfiram are the research focus, and the epithelial/mesenchymal heterogeneity, miR34a-NOTCH1 axis and LINC00511/miR-185-3p/E2F1/ Nanog axis related to the stemness of breast cancer stem cells are the key research contents. BACKGROUND: Exploring the research status and development trend of femomacetabular impingement, and finding out the research direction and hot spot of femomacetabular impingement are helpful for domestic scholars to grasp the latest information in this field and explore the most cutting-edge treatment direction. OBJECTIVE: To explore the research status and the development trend of femoroacetabular impingement in the world. METHODS: The science citation index of Wed of Science core collection was used to retrieve English literature on femoroacetabular impingement from January 1, 2005 to February 20, 2020. The bibliometric methods were used to conduct data statistics and analysis. Meanwhile, VOS viewer software was used for visualization conversion to analyze the research status and the development trend of femoroacetabular impingement. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Totally 3 158 literatures were included. The literatures concerning global scientific research of femoroacetabular impingement are increasing year by year. The number of the United States published is largest. The United States makes the greatest contribution in the world, ranking the top (1 659 papers), whose number of the citations (37 019 papers) and H index (87 papers) are the highest. The number of literatures is 43 in China. It ranks 14 and the citations are 301; H index is 9. (2) ARTHROSCOPY-THE JOURNAL OF ARTHROSCOPIC AND RELATED SURGERY who contributed the largest number of relevant literatures (426 papers) is more than of the second magazine (287 papers) named AMERICAN JOURNAL OF SPORTS MEDICINE. UNIV BERN (University of Bern) and HOSP SPECIAL SURG (Hospital for Special Surgery) are two institutions which have the largest amount of research publications. BACKGROUND: The treatment of stem cells in intervertebral disc degeneration has always been a research hotspot. It is possible to predict and analyze the research status and development trend of this field to a certain extent, applying bibliometric analysis software to perform co-occurrence and co-citation analysis of numerous literature data in this field. OBJECTIVE: To analyze research status and development trend of stem cells in the treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration by bibliometric visualization analysis. METHODS: The authors retrieved the literature on stem cells in the treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration from 1999 to 2020 through the core collection of Web of Science, and used bibliometrics methods to conduct statistical analysis on the literature data, combined with Citespace 5.6.R5 and VOSviewer 1.6.15 software to transform the visualization atlas, analyze the research status and development trend of stem cells in the treatment of intervertebral disc. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) A total of 613 articles were included. The number of publications of stem cells in intervertebral disc treatment research is increasing year by year. Among them, China and the United States rank first and second with 232 and 174 publications respectively. (2) The United States has a total citation frequency (5 522), h index (42), and betweenness centrality (0.75) ranks first, both higher than the second place in China (3 169, 28, 0.16). (3) The top ten cited references introduced the research on the treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration with microscopic mesenchymal stem cells from various aspects, and seven of them were related to nucleus pulposus like differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. Two papers are related to the best cell source and cell carrier generation in the treatment of intervertebral disc regeneration. One is related to the clinical trial study of the treatment of degenerative disc regeneration. (4) The timeline chart of reference co-citation shows that the most references are published in clusters of “Mesenchymal Stem Cells”, “Notochord Cells”, “End Plates”, and “Adipose derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells”. From a year of publication perspective, the clustering “notochord cells”, “notochord”, and “injection” published in the latest year. (5) Clustering keywords “intervertebral disc degeneration”, “migration”, “notochord cells”, “genipin” and “hydrogel” correspond exactly to the above. It was confirmed that the keywords suddenly appeared and found that present research hotspots are: mesenchymal stem cell nucleus pulposus-like differentiation, the best cell source in the treatment of intervertebral disc regeneration and the clinical effectiveness and biosafety of cell carrier construction and intervertebral disc regeneration treatment. (6) There are five new keywords from 2017 to 2019, namely “injection”, “intervertebral disc degeneration”, “inflammation”, “apoptosis”, and “puncture”, mainly focusing on cell apoptosis, inflammatory reaction, intervertebral disc regression, and cell transplantation methodology. (7) The above-mentioned global trend analysis suggests that as the amount of stem cells published in the treatment of intervertebral disc degeneration continues to increase, related research is also constantly deepening. The current research focuses on the nucleus pulposus-like differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells, the best cell source and cell carrier integration in the treatment of intervertebral disc regeneration, and the clinical effectiveness and biological safety of integration of intervertebral disc regeneration treatment. In-depth exploration of the mechanism of intervertebral disc degeneration and inflammatory response and improvement of cell transplantation methodology are the focus of future research. Objective: To discuss the development trends and detect the research focus in the field of three-dimensional ultrasonography imaging of breast. Methods: This paper studied articles related to three-dimensional ultrasonography imaging of breast in the PubMed database, and discussed the development status from paper quantities, life circle, country/region distribution and network,affiliation distribution and network and research focus by the method of bibliometrics and visualization. Results: There were 213 articles published in all; 25 countries/regions published papers, with USA being the first place all over the world. More than 100 affiliations were involved, and mainly being hospitals and universities. There were four research focus as follows: three-dimensional elasticity imaging of breast neoplasms, computer-assisted diagnosis of mammography, magnetic resonance imaging diagnosis of breast cancer, algorithm study of ultrasonography imaging of breast neoplasms. Conclusions: The field of three-dimensional ultrasonography imaging of breast developed rapidly these years, and its research focus were mainly related to the diagnosis of breast cancer. In the process of downward continuation(DWC) of airborne gravity, the model error caused by discretization and systematic error in gravity data is expressed by non - parametric components. This paper proposes an inverse Poisson integral DWC method based on regularization method and semi-parametric ker-nel estimation, establishes gravity DWC model based on semi-parametric kernel estimation method without external data, reduces the ill-conditioned influence of the design matrix after Poisson integral discretization and introduces regularization method. It calculates the simulated airborne gravity anomaly based on the EGM2008 model and performs the simulation experiment using linear term and periodic term systematic er-ror. The simulation experiment and the measured gravity anomaly data in the United States show the effec-tiveness of the proposed method in improving the ill-conditioned and separation system errors. It is an inevitable requirement to modify human development index (HDI) with greenness and fairness indicators. Using ecological footprint, this paper tried to construct the human-ecological sustainable development index (HEDI) based on panel data of 28 countries from 1990 to 2014, and analyzed the contribution of sub- indicators to HEDI with the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) decomposition approach. Fairness was adjusted to construct a comprehensive human- ecological sustainable development index (cHEDI) that could fully reflect the degree of economy, society, ecology and equal development comprehensively. We analyzed the spatial and temporal changes of HEDI and cHEDI with the index in 28 countries around the world. The results show that developed countries with high biomass surplus are highly sustainable, ranking higher than other countries. One of the main factors affecting sustainable development is high carbon emissions in these countries. Besides the high carbon emissions, the shortage of biomass resources is another unsustainable reason in the developed countries with biomass deficit, which maintain development by transferring assets from other countries. Unfairness leads to a decline in comprehensive sustainability in the United States. From 1990 to 2014, income and education in developing countries increased rapidly, but ecological consumption and Gini coefficient continued to rise, and the inhibitory effect gradually expanded to increase the unsustainability of development. The sustainability index of the United States and developing countries is greatly affected by the Gini coefficient. The United Arab Emirates ranked last in the world, with the least sustainable development mode. Although its income ranked first in the world, biomass and energy consumption was very high, and the Gini coefficient far exceeded that of other countries. The development of the least developed countries mainly came from contribution of health, education and low ecological consumption. Barren natural assets limited their further development. Different countries have different shortcomings in human sustainable development. The sub- divisions were highly correlated, hence to achieve the high level of human sustainable development requires better balance between society, economy, greenness, and fairness. Most research studies on forecasting of earthquakes focus on thermal or electrical aspects. Scholars have proved GPS time series also contains precursory information for large earthquakes. For the problems mentioned before, three typical earthquakes hit America from 2001 to 2010 were investigated by using GPS data of several GPS reference stations near the epicenters. This paper proposed an algorithm based on Martingale theory to detect the anomalies in GPS data. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively reflect the change process in GPS data before and after large earthquakes, which offers more possibilities for earthquake forecast from GPS data. The analysis on the intensity of land development and utilization is of great significance to improving the efficency of land development and utilization and promoting ecological and environmental protection work. Taking the Tampa Bay watershed of Florida, USA as the study area, based on the information of four TM/OLI remote sensing images of 1985, 1995, 2005 and 2015, this paper constructs a series of models of land- use dynamics, conversion matrix, land development and utilization intensity and land-use structure with GIS technology. Then, it conducts research on spatial and temporal pattern of land development and utilization intensity in Tampa Bay watershed. The results showed that: (1) Construction land and woodland are the dominant types of land use in the watershed. The area of construction land mainly converted from cultivated land increased most, with the ratio being 53.74%. (2) The relative change rates of all types of land use have obvious spatial differences and those of rivers and lakes have the greatest. The change speed of unused land is the largest, with the highest single dynamic degree of up to 1.11%. The average annual growth rate of construction land is steady at about 0.30%. The size with the highest dynamic degree was decreasing from the northern and southern polar nuclei outward, and the areas with higher dynamic degrees were gradually converted into the lower dynamic areas. (3) Information entropy slightly decreased, the land use structure heterogeneity constantly decreased. Area of the land-use composition is listed in the order of Construction Land>Wood>Cultivated Land and Pasture>Rivers and Lakes> Tidal Flat and Marsh> Unused Land. (4) The intensity of land development and utilization is the highest in the Coastal Pinellas county and Tampa city. In this paper, 4,332 glucose meter related patents retrieved in the patent information analysis and patent analysis platform Innography are analyzed, including the annual trends of patent application and authorization, the inventor locations, countries/regions that receive patent application, the technology life cycle, patent distribution based on cooperative patent classification, as well as patent assignees, in order to figure out the overall picture of patent output, the technical maturity, primary technique related, institutions involved in the field of glucose meter. The results showed that the development of glucose meter related technique has entered a stable stage after 15 years’ rapid improvement; Roche, Johnson & Johnson and abbott laboratories and other global market share of higher companies are a large number of related patent applications, to achieve the purpose of using patent barriers of market monopoly; the United States has a strong research and application advantage in the area of glucose meter, which has the strongest R & D capability and the highest power in the world; China lacks world leading enterprise due to the deconcentration of mastered techniques despite a large number of patents; furthermore, many R & D activities are carried out in China’s universities and research institutes, and China’s glucose meter market in the future has a very good application prospects. Most of the existing literatures focus on the scale of foreign exchange reserves and on the currency diversification of fixed income portfolio. We think it is necessary to distinguish the different types of the international assets before the process of currency diversification. This paper introduces a mean-variance-Skewness-Kurtosis (MVSK) optimization framework to manage the portfolios of foreign currency, foreign government bound and foreign stock respectively. We find that although difference does exist, the weights of both U.S. government bound and U.S. stock excess 50%. In order to expel the impact caused by the policy of pegging the Renminbi to the U.S. dollar and the potential political factors, this paper does robust tests by examining the portfolios of Japan and Switzerland with the same method, and arrives at similar results. This paper provides an explanation to the apparent paradox between the U.S. dollar depreciation and the significant weights of U.S. government bound and U.S. stock: the big weight is consistent with U.S. dollar assets' lower volatility compared with other counties' assets, which guarantees security of foreign reserves. The co-occurrence of mental illness and substance abuse is among the most prevalent mental disorders worldwide. It has become more significant in the United States, Europe, and Hong Kong, and it presents complex issues for both mental health and substance abuse practitioners. This paper explores the historical and conceptual issues on dual diagnosis. In addition, different perspectives on dual diagnosis are crucial for developing public policies and programs to address client needs on the road to recovery. The dominant view on dual diagnosis has been the medical perspective. This paper describes three more perspectives: moralistic, psychosocial risk, and phenomenological. This paper describes the evolution course of automotive diesel standards in China, and briefly analyzes the current situation, then summarizes the development trend of their seven important technical indexes, finally analyzes the reasons of their continuous improvement. Automotive diesel standards have been developing straight forward the direction of clean oil. Compared with EU, USA and Japan, automotive diesel standards relatively lag behind others in China, so it is imperative to improve the quality of the product. The heavy and inferior properties of the crude oil process, the low production capacity of installations, and the lack of competitive catalysts have limited the upgrading of diesel quality in China. LNG has been steadily increasing its share of the global gas trade. The United States and European countries have studied the interchangeability of natural gas according to specific situations and provided results of the relevant studies. In China, the import of LNG is steadily increasing, but the problems regarding quality and interchangeability were not fully understood and resolved. In this paper, a study on applicability of Weaver indices has been completed. The experiments were conducted for 17 typical gas appliances and 11 natural gas sources with 187 test conditions. Comparing the experimental results with the results predicted by Weaver indices, it suggested that the limits of Lifting JJ need to change to ≥0. 95, Incomplete Combustion JI need to change to ≤0.04 and the limit of AGA index Lifting IL change to ≤1.05. In the United States, the SEER-Medicare data link cancer patients in the SEER (Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results) Program with Medicare enrollment to identify cancer patients who are eligible for Medicare and to provide Medicare Claims for these patients. Statistics from the National Cancer Institute show that there are over 650 peer-reviewed publications using the SEER -Medicare database. This database has been the primary data source for health services research in oncology since its inception, and it has made tremendous contributions to policies related to cancer control, treatment, and surveillance in the United States. The National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD), established at the initiation of the Taiwan's National Health Insurance program in 1995, is a claims database. The Taiwan Cancer Database (TCDB), based on the Taiwan Cancer Registry, was established in 2002. The creation of a TCDB-NHIRD linked database could produce a SEER-Medicare-like database and has the potential to become an invaluable resource for cancer as well as policy researchers in Taiwan. This paper introduces the SEER-Medicare database, including data collection, software, applications of the database, data elements, structure, validation, the data request and application process, limitations of the database, and privacy and confidentiality issues. We then use a previously published breast cancer study to demonstrate the procedures involved in generating research from the SEER-Medicare database, followed by recommendations for the future development of a database that links TCDB to the NHIRD. In Europe and North America, a few developed countries have gradually implemented an "open disclosure" mechanism characterized by openness, analysis, and learning in dealing with adverse medical events, so that the cost of medical litigation and the reoccurrence rate of adverse medical events can be decreased. The United States was the earliest country to implement an open disclosure mechanism, while Australia has developed the most comprehensive policy. This paper reviewed the histories and current status of the open disclosure mechanism in the United States and Australia to derive implications for constructing a disclosure mechanism for adverse medical events in Taiwan. Two suggestions were made after a review of the two countries' experiences. First, the dominant Department of Health should plan and conduct large-scale epidemiologic research on adverse medical events to force the medical system to face the issue of medical injury seriously. Second, social action supporters in various areas should be mobilized to propose comprehensive social legislation, promote education, and advocate for Taiwan to move toward the goal of dealing with adverse medical events with open disclosure.
