In order to solve the problem of high water content muck transported out of the Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project shield tunnel, in this paper, taking slump as evaluation index, the influence law of mass ratio of cement, quicklime, fly ash, and magnesium oxide on the fluidity of shield muck was discussed based on the orthogonal test, and the solidification micro-mechanism of the shield foam-conditioned muck and the change process of the foam were analyzed, and appropriate solidification technology for muck transportation was proposed. The results showed that the main factors influencing the fluidity of shield muck solidification were the ratio of the sum of fly ash and magnesium oxide mass to the sum of cement and quicklime mass. The best mass ratio of solidifying materials of shield muck in upper soil and lower rock strata was magnesium oxide ∶fly ash ∶ cement ∶ quicklime = 1∶19∶24∶36. The solidification process would accelerate the bursting of foam and generate gel to reduce the fluidity of muck. Compared with the use of cement or dehydration equipment to solidify the field shield muck, it was a more economical and effective way to solidify the muck with the solidifying agent at the best mass ratio [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
