The article focuses on the concerns by some investors about the sharp increase in Indian stocks in 2009. The vulnerability of India to the unpredictable mood of global investors is noted. The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index (Sensex) rose by 74% for the year, compared with 60% for MSCI Emerging Markets Index and 11% for the Dow Jones Industrial Average as of October 6. Also noted is the fact that investors in India find that compared with earnings, their stocks are more expensive.
