Deep learning is an important concept introduced into modern learning science. It is different from the surface learning of mechanically and passively acquiring knowledge and storing individual information but emphasizes learners' active and critical learning. It wants them to understand the full meaning of what they have learned. By establishing a link between existing knowledge and new knowledge, it transfers existing knowledge to a new environment, makes decisions, and solves problems. Deep learning plays an important role in students' learning. Deep learning ability is the key factor affecting the quality of learning and the development of students' academic ability. The quality of in-depth teaching is difficult to guarantee, which requires a complete, comprehensive, and evaluation system to evaluate it. This paper introduces the analytic hierarchy process to weight the indexes in mathematics deep learning and puts forward some suggestions on creating an environment for deep learning. The experimental results show that teachers' teaching accounts for the highest proportion of primary indicators, reaching 67%. Multimedia resources account for the highest proportion of secondary indicators, reaching 73.01%. This paper then puts forward some suggestions for indicators with large weights. There is a huge amount of mathematical information in the world, and mathematics is everywhere and nowhere. Bayesian theory is based on a process of statistical inference that requires the calculation of general and prior information to obtain a posteriori information. Its main features are the use of probabilities to represent all forms of uncertainty and the use of probabilistic rules to enable learning and inference, estimating the probability of future occurrences by calculating the probability of a past time. In order to bring mathematics closer to life, this paper explores the teaching of mathematical applications in terms of material selection, teaching arrangement, and professional integration. At the same time, in order to better realize mathematics application teaching, effectively improve the classroom effect of mathematics application teaching, and make students better accept mathematical knowledge and apply it to practical applications, the design of mathematics application teaching in this paper is also based on Naive Bayes. The teaching characteristic of colleges and universities is determined by the teaching quality of teachers, but it is difficult to calculate with a linear mathematical explanation how to judge the teaching quality of teachers. In most colleges and universities, expert evaluations, supervision groups, peers listening to lectures in the classroom, and students' after-class evaluations are still used to determine the teaching ability of professors. It is undeniable that these judgment methods have certain practicality. Especially for new teachers, experts and peers can find problems in time and help new teachers quickly correct them, and they can also know how to better practice the "student-centered" teaching concept from the feedback of students after class. However, these judgment standards also have their limitations. For example, the classroom quality judgment standards for experts and peers are mostly set by some administrative departments according to social requirements, leadership requirements, and subjective cognition. Various institutions should have different weights for the same criterion, and if they all employ the same criteria, it will easily lead to imprecise conclusions. In addition, the expert group and students are also subjective and incomplete in the stage of teacher evaluation. Based on different nonquantitative factors, the evaluation standards for teachers in colleges and universities also need the scientific theoretical basis. Therefore, many scientists are considering whether to use a more intelligent and reasonable way to judge the quality of teaching. Nowadays, with the popularization of artificial intelligence (AI), the use of neural networks (NNs) is becoming more and more comprehensive. According to the characteristics of NNs, this paper uses the GA NNs algorithm to signify that this algorithm can be effectively used in the evaluation of teachers' teaching quality. In this paper, a large number of experimental results show that the use of GA NNs can be used to evaluate the quality of teaching, and the evaluation results can be obtained quantitatively in this way. With the development of computer technology, computers have become a part of people's lives and the Internet has connected the world's networks as a whole. Computer technology is changing people's study, life, and work. People's traditional education mode, thinking, content, method, and talent training program have a significant impact. The development from traditional to computer technology-based teaching methods has brought new developments and leaps in educational technology. This paper analyzes the research background, significance, and research status of the advanced mathematics auxiliary teaching system, introduces the related technologies and development modes used in the development of the system, and especially discusses the access database technology by ADO and the mathematical expression based on MathML language. Secondly, starting from the actual teaching, we analyze the functional requirements and performance requirements of the system in detail and make detailed planning and design for the system architecture, database selection, functional modules, etc. The design and implementation process of this teaching system are summarized. The teaching strategy inference engine is the key to the personalization and intelligence of the ICAI system. According to the learning models provided by different students, the system designs a corresponding teaching sequence for the learners by controlling the meta-knowledge of the domain knowledge base. The teaching strategy inference engine cuts the domain knowledge tree, selects the knowledge points suitable for the student, and sorts the selected knowledge points reasonably to generate an optimal teaching sequence. According to the students' learning situation, combined with the teaching rules in the teaching rule library, the students' grades are dynamically adjusted, so as to select new learning content for students and provide teaching suggestions in time. The student model is the premise of the ICAI system to achieve individualization and intelligence. The system makes a comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis of students through fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and fuzzy reasoning. The fusion model that can be used in the teaching process of math in university is constructed, the adaptive scheduling of the curriculum which teaches advanced knowledge about mathematics auxiliary teaching resources is realized by an optimization algorithm used for fusion particle swarm, the autocorrelation feature of the curriculum which teaches advanced knowledge about mathematics auxiliary teaching resources is extracted, and the adaptive optimization of the curriculum which teaches advanced knowledge about mathematics auxiliary teaching resource fusion is realized by fuzzy correlation feature matching and statistical analysis. In this paper, the theory of viscoelastic material relaxation modulus testing, testing method, and material relaxation modulus parameter solution method is studied. Based on the IoT sensor test devices and the Hertzian mathematics theory, the relationship between the compression amount, pressure, and relaxation modulus of a rigid spherical indenter pressed into a flat viscoelastic material is studied. In combination with the Boltzmann superposition principle, the relaxation modulus test method and theory for viscoelastic materials are proposed. A good fitting curve was obtained to solve the relaxation modulus parameters of various materials under the three-element Maxwell model. This research aims to improve the rationality and intelligence of AUTOMATICALLY HIGHER MATHEMATICALLY EXAM SYSTEM (AHMES) through some AI algorithms. AHMES is an intelligent and high-quality higher math examination solution for the Department of Computer Engineering at Pai Chai University. This research redesigned the difficulty system of AHMES and used some AI algorithms for initialization and continuous adjustment. Evaluating the reliability of a network with multiple sources to multiple sinks is a critical issue from the perspective of quality management. Due to the unrealistic definition of paths of network models in previous literature, existing models are not appropriate for real-world computer networks such as the Taiwan Advanced Research and Education Network (TWAREN). This paper proposes a modified stochastic-flow network model to evaluate the network reliability of a practical computer network with multiple sources where data is transmitted through several light paths (LPs). Network reliability is defined as being the probability of delivering a specified amount of data from the sources to the sink. It is taken as a performance index to measure the service level of TWAREN. This paper studies the network reliability of the international portion of TWAREN from two sources (Taipei and Hsinchu) to one sink (New York) that goes through a submarine and land surface cable between Taiwan and the United States. This paper presents a series of new results in modeling of the Grünwald- Letnikov discrete-time fractional difference by means of discrete-time Laguerre filers. The introduced Laguerre-based difference (LD) and combined fractional/Laguerre-based difference (CFLD) are shown to perfectly approximate its fractional difference original, for fractional order α ∈ (0, 2). The time-variant reliability and its sensitivity of cutting tools under both wear deterioration and an invariant machining condition are analyzed. The wear process is modeled by a Gamma process which is a continuous-state and continuous-time stochastic process with the independent and nonnegative increment. The time-variant reliability and its sensitivity of cutting tools under six cases are considered in this paper. For the first two cases, the compensation for the cutting tool wear is not carried out. For the last four cases, the off-line or real-time compensation method is adopted. While the off-line compensation method is used, the machining error of cutting tool is supposed to be stochastic. Whether the detection of the real-time wear is accurate or not is discussed when the real-time compensation method is adopted. The numerical examples are analyzed to demonstrate the idea of how the reliability of cutting tools under the invariant machining condition could be improved according to the methods described in this paper. This paper describes in a detailed manner a method to implement a simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) system based on monocular vision for applications of visual odometry, appearance-based sensing, and emulation of range-bearing measurements. SLAM techniques are required to operate mobile robots in a priori unknown environments using only on-board sensors to simultaneously build a map of their surroundings; this map will be needed for the robot to track its position. In this context, the 6-DOF (degree of freedom) monocular camera case (monocular SLAM) possibly represents the harder variant of SLAM. In monocular SLAM, a single camera, which is freely moving through its environment, represents the sole sensory input to the system. The method proposed in this paper is based on a technique called delayed inverse-depth feature initialization, which is intended to initialize new visual features on the system. Surface roughness is often considered the main purpose in contemporary computer numerical controlled (CNC) machining industry. Most existing optimization researches for CNC finish turning were either accomplished within certain manufacturing circumstances or achieved through numerous equipment operations. Therefore, a general deduction optimization scheme is deemed to be necessary for the industry. In this paper, the cutting depth, feed rate, speed, and tool nose runoff with low, medium, and high level are considered to optimize the surface roughness for finish turning based on L9(34) orthogonal array. Additionally, nine fuzzy control rules using triangle membership function with respective to five linguistic grades for surface roughness are constructed. Considering four input and twenty output intervals, the defuzzification using center of gravity is then completed. Thus, the optimum general fuzzy linguistic parameters can then be received. The confirmation experiment result showed that the surface roughness from the fuzzy linguistic optimization parameters is significantly advanced compared to that from the benchmark. The performance of device-to-device (D2D) communication in a cellular network depends on the resource sharing between D2D links and cellular users. Existing researches on resource sharing mainly focus on power control between the D2D users and cellular users that operate in the same frequency band. However, the D2D outage probability performance is hampered by the cellular interference to D2D links. Therefore, the D2D users may not achieve satisfactory SINR performance when D2D users and cellular users are geographically located in a small area; as a result, the outage probability performance would be significantly degraded. In this paper, we provide a novel resource sharing strategy to mitigate the interference from cellular users to D2D receivers by utilizing the low energy characteristics of signals in the guard band and analyze the D2D outage probability performance mathematically. Both the mathematical analysis and numerical results show that the proposed resource sharing strategy provides 1.2 dB SNR gain in D2D outage probability performance while guaranteeing the cellular throughputs. When using interior methods for solving semidefinite programming (SDP), one needs to solve a system of linear equations at each iteration. For problems of large size, solving the system of linear equations can be very expensive. In this paper, based on a semismooth equation reformulation using Fischer's function, we propose a filter method with trust region for solving large-scale SDP problems. At each iteration we perform a number of conjugate gradient iterations, but do not need to solve a system of linear equations. This paper investigates the influence of a new parallel distributed controller (PDC) on the stabilization region of continuous Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy models. Using a nonquadratic Lyapunov function, a new sufficient stabilization criterion is established in terms of linear matrix inequality. The criterion examines the derivative membership function; an approach to determine state variables is given based on observer design. This paper presents an approach for data-driven design of fault diagnosis system. The proposed fault diagnosis scheme consists of an adaptive residual generator and a bank of isolation observers, whose parameters are directly identified from the process data without identification of complete process model. To deal with normal variations in the process, the parameters of residual generator are online updated by standard adaptive technique to achieve reliable fault detection performance. After a fault is successfully detected, the isolation scheme will be activated, in which each isolation observer serves as an indicator corresponding to occurrence of a particular type of fault in the process. The thresholds can be determined analytically or through estimating the probability density function of related variables. To illustrate the performance of proposed fault diagnosis approach, a laboratory-scale three-tank system is finally utilized. It shows that the proposed data-driven scheme is efficient to deal with applications, whose analytical process models are unavailable. Especially, for the large-scale plants, whose physical models are generally difficult to be established, the proposed approach may offer an effective alternative solution for process monitoring. This paper investigates robust finite-time H∞ control for a class of impulsive switched nonlinear systems with time-delay. Firstly, using piecewise Lyapunov function, sufficient conditions ensuring finite-time boundedness of the impulsive switched system are derived. Then, finite-time H∞ performance analysis for impulsive switched systems is developed, and a robust finite- time H∞ state feedback controller is proposed to guarantee that the resulting closed-loop system is finite-time bounded with H∞ disturbance attenuation. Stock market indices (SMIs) are important measures of financial and economical performance. Considerable research efforts during the last years demonstrated that these signals have a chaotic nature and require sophisticated mathematical tools for analyzing their characteristics. Classical methods, such as the Fourier transform, reveal considerable limitations in discriminating different periods of time. This paper studies the dynamics of SMI by combining the wavelet transform and the multidimensional scaling (MDS). Six continuous wavelets are tested for analyzing the information content of the stock signals. In a first phase, the real Shannon wavelet is adopted for performing the evaluation of the SMI dynamics, while their comparison is visualized by means of the MDS. Self-similar process with long-range dependence (LRD), that is, fractional Gaussian noise (fGn) with LRD is a widely used model of Internet traffic. It is indexed by its Hurst parameter HfGn that linearly relates to its fractal dimension DfGn. Note that, on the one hand, the fractal dimension D of traffic measures local self-similarity. On the other hand, LRD is a global property of traffic, which is characterized by its Hurst parameter H. However, by using fGn, both the self- similarity and the LRD of traffic are measured by HfGn . Therefore, there is a limitation for fGn to accurately model traffic. Recently, the generalized Cauchy (GC) process was introduced to model traffic with the flexibility to separately measure the fractal dimension DGC and the Hurst parameter HGC of traffic. However, there is a fundamental problem whether or not there exists the generality that the GC model is more conformable with real traffic than single parameter models, such as fGn, irrelevant of traffic traces used in experimental verification. The solution to that problem remains unknown but is desired for model evaluation in traffic theory or for model selection against specific issues, such as queuing analysis relating to the autocorrelation function (ACF) of arrival traffic. The key contribution of this paper is our solution to that fundamental problem (see Theorem 3.17) with the following features in analysis. (i) Set-valued analysis of the traffic of the fGn type. Due to the features of long connection delays, frequent network partitions, and topology unsteadiness, the design of opportunistic networks faces the challenge of how to effectively deliver data based only on occasional encountering of nodes, where the conventional routing schemes do not work properly. This paper proposes a hybrid probability choice routing protocol with buffer management for opportunistic networks. A delivery probability function is set up based on continuous encounter duration time, which is used for selecting a better node to relay packets. By combining the buffer management utility and the delivery probability, a total utility is used to decide whether the packet should be kept in the buffer or be directly transmitted to the encountering node. The production of energy from renewable sources, the diversification of the productive activities, and the development of photovoltaic technology and integrated systems have led to the development of solar greenhouses. The interest of the developers and designers is now to seek new approaches to combine the electricity and food production optimally. The interaction of factors as outside local climate, exposure, slope, soil, altitude, wind conditions, structural materials, or cultivated plant species, influences greatly the energy balance. This paper illustrates the comparison of optical and thermal behavior of a solar greenhouse and a similar glass greenhouse, devoted to the production of soil-less tomatoes in three different Italian areas, with computational aspects and methods of the TRNSYS simulation. Values of climatic parameters are obtained as a responce for the feasibility of the cultivation under PV modules. This paper presents the synthesis of an optimal robust controller with the use of pole placement technique. The presented method includes solving a polynomial equation on the basis of the chosen fixed characteristic polynomial and introduced parametric solutions with a known parametric structure of the controller. Robustness criteria in an unstructured uncertainty description with metrics of norm ℋ∞ are for a more reliable and effective formulation of objective functions for optimization presented in the form of a spectral polynomial with positivity conditions. The method enables robust low-order controller design by using plant simplification with partial- fraction decomposition, where the simplification remainder is added to the performance weight. The controller structure is assembled of well-known parts such as disturbance rejection, and reference tracking. The approach also allows the possibility of multiobjective optimization of robust criteria, application of mixed sensitivity problem, and other closed-loop limitation criteria, where the common criteria function can be composed from different unrelated criteria. In consideration of the significant role the brake plays in ensuring the fast and safe running of vehicles, and since the present parameter optimization design models of brake are far from the practical application, this paper proposes a multiobjective optimization model of drum brake, aiming at maximizing the braking efficiency and minimizing the volume and temperature rise of drum brake. As the commonly used optimization algorithms are of some deficiency, we present a differential evolution cellular multiobjective genetic algorithm (DECell) by introducing differential evolution strategy into the canonical cellular genetic algorithm for tackling this problem. For DECell, the gained Pareto front could be as close as possible to the exact Pareto front, and also the diversity of nondominated individuals could be better maintained. The experiments on the test functions reveal that DECell is of good performance in solving high-dimension nonlinear multiobjective problems. And the results of optimizing the new brake model indicate that DECell obviously outperforms the compared popular algorithm NSGA-II concerning the number of obtained brake design parameter sets, the speed, and stability for finding them. The paper proposes a new design method based on linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) for tracking constant signals (regulation) considering nonlinear plants described by the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models. The procedure consists in designing a single controller that stabilizes the system at operation points belonging to a certain range or region, without the need of remaking the design of the controller gains at each new chosen equilibrium point. This paper provides a review and introduction on agile manufacturing. Tactics of agile manufacturing are mapped into different production areas (eight-construct latent): manufacturing equipment and technology, processes technology and know-how, quality and productivity improvement, production planning and control, shop floor management, product design and development, supplier relationship management, and customer relationship management. The implementation level of agile manufacturing tactics is investigated in each area. A structural equation model is proposed. Hypotheses are formulated. Feedback from 456 firms is collected using five-point-Likert-scale questionnaire. Statistical analysis is carried out using IBM SPSS and AMOS. Multicollinearity, content validity, consistency, construct validity, ANOVA analysis, and relationships between agile components are tested. The results of this study prove that the agile manufacturing tactics have positive effect on the overall agility level. A one-dimensional cellular automaton traffic flow model, which considers the deceleration in advance, is addressed in this paper. The model reflects the situation in the real traffic that drivers usually adjust the current velocity by forecasting its velocities in a short time of future, in order to avoid the sharp deceleration. The fundamental diagram obtained by simulation shows the ability of this model to capture the essential features of traffic flow, for example, synchronized flow, meta-stable state, and phase separation at the high density. Contrasting with the simulation results of the VE model, this model shows a higher maximum flux closer to the measured data, more stability, more efficient dissolving blockage, lower vehicle deceleration, and more reasonable distribution of vehicles. The results indicate that advanced deceleration has an important impact on traffic flow, and this model has some practical significance as the result matching to the actual situation. A series of direct smelting reduction experiment has been carried out with high phosphorous iron ore of the different bases by thermogravimetric analyzer. The derivative thermogravimetric (DTG) data have been obtained from the experiments. One- step forward local weighted linear (LWL) method , one of the most suitable ways of predicting chaotic time-series methods which focus on the errors, is used to predict DTG. In the meanwhile, empirical mode decomposition-auto regressive (EMD-AR), a data mining technique in signal processing, is also used to predict DTG. The results show that (1) EMD-AR(4) is the most appropriate and its error is smaller than the former; (2) root mean square error (RMSE) has decreased about two-thirds; (3) standardized root mean square error (NMSE) has decreased in an order of magnitude. Finally in this paper, EMD- AR method has been improved by golden section weighting; its error would be smaller than before. Therefore, the improved EMD-AR model is a promising alternative for apparent reaction rate (DTG). The analytical results have been an important reference in the field of industrial control. A model-based system for fault diagnosis in power system is presented in this paper. It is based on fuzzy timing Petri net (FTPN). The ordinary Petri net (PN) tool is used to model the protective components, relays, and circuit breakers. In addition, fuzzy timing is associated with places (token) /transition to handle the uncertain information of relays and circuits breakers. The received delay time information of relays and breakers is mapped to fuzzy timestamps, π (τ), as initial marking of the backward FTPN. The diagnosis process starts by marking the backward sub-FTPNs. The final marking is found by going through the firing sequence, σ, of each sub-FTPN and updating fuzzy timestamp in each state of σ. The final marking indicates the estimated fault section. This information is then in turn used in forward FTPN to evaluate the fault hypothesis. The FTPN will increase the speed of the inference engine because of the ability of Petri net to describe parallel processing, and the use of time-tag data will cause the inference procedure to be more accurate. The vehicle routing problem (VRP) is a well-known combinatorial optimization problem. It has been studied for several decades because finding effective vehicle routes is an important issue of logistic management. This paper proposes a new hybrid algorithm based on two main swarm intelligence (SI) approaches, ant colony optimization (ACO) and particle swarm optimization (PSO), for solving capacitated vehicle routing problems (CVRPs). In the proposed algorithm, each artificial ant, like a particle in PSO, is allowed to memorize the best solution ever found. After solution construction, only elite ants can update pheromone according to their own best-so-far solutions. Moreover, a pheromone disturbance method is embedded into the ACO framework to overcome the problem of pheromone stagnation. Two sets of benchmark problems were selected to test the performance of the proposed algorithm. The main purpose of this paper is to apply stochastic adaptive controller design to mechanical system. Firstly, by a series of coordinate transformations, the mechanical system can be transformed to a class of special high-order stochastic nonlinear system, based on which, a more general mathematical model is considered, and the smooth state- feedback controller is designed. H∞ filtering problem for a class of piecewise homogeneous Markovian jump nonlinear systems is investigated. The aim of this paper is to design a mode-dependent filter such that the filtering error system is stochastically stable and satisfies a prescribed H∞ disturbance attenuation level. By using a new mode-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, mixed mode-dependent sufficient conditions on stochastic stability are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The finite-time control problem of a class of networked control systems (NCSs) with time delay is investigated. The main results provided in the paper are sufficient conditions for finite-time stability via state feedback. An augmentation approach is proposed to model NCSs with time delay as linear systems. Based on finite time stability theory the sufficient conditions for finite-time boundedness and stabilization of the underlying systems are derived via linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) formulation. The main aim of the present work is to determine the optimal design and maximum deflection of double layer grids spending low computational cost using neural networks. The design variables of the optimization problem are cross-sectional area of the elements as well as the length of the span and height of the structures. In this paper, a number of double layer grids with various random values of length and height are selected and optimized by simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation algorithm. Then, radial basis function (RBF) and generalized regression (GR) neural networks are trained to predict the optimal design and maximum deflection of the structures. Limiting factors for the precise orbit determination (POD) of low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite using dual-frequency GPS are nowadays mainly encountered with the in- flight phase error modeling. The phase error is modeled as a systematic and a random component each depending on the direction of GPS signal reception. The systematic part and standard deviation of random part in phase error model are, respectively estimated by bin-wise mean and standard deviation values of phase postfit residuals computed by orbit determination. By removing the systematic component and adjusting the weight of phase observation data according to standard deviation of random component, the orbit can be further improved by POD approach. The GRACE data of 1-31 January 2006 are processed, and three types of orbit solutions, POD without phase error model correction, POD with mean value correction of phase error model, and POD with phase error model correction, are obtained. The three-dimensional (3D) orbit improvements derived from phase error model correction are 0.0153 m for GRACE A and 0.0131 m for GRACE B, and the 3D influences arisen from random part of phase error model are 0.0068 m and 0.0075 m for GRACE A and GRACE B, respectively. Thus the random part of phase error model cannot be neglected for POD. It is also demonstrated by phase postfit residual analysis, orbit comparison with JPL precise science orbit, and orbit validation with KBR data that the results derived from POD with phase error model correction are better than another two types of orbit solutions generated in this paper. This paper is devoted to the problems of gain-scheduled control for a class of discrete-time stochastic systems with infinite-distributed delays and missing measurements by utilizing probability-dependent Lyapunov functional. The missing- measurement phenomenon is assumed to occur in a random way and the missing probability is time varying with securable upper and lower bounds that can be measured in real time. The purpose is to design a static output feedback controller with scheduled gains such that, for the admissible random missing measurements, time delays, and noises, the closed-loop system is exponentially mean-square stable. Permeability is a key parameter associated with the characterization of any hydrocarbon reservoir. In fact, it is not possible to have accurate solutions to many petroleum engineering problems without having accurate permeability value. The conventional methods for permeability determination are core analysis and well test techniques. These methods are very expensive and time consuming. Therefore, attempts have usually been carried out to use artificial neural network for identification of the relationship between the well log data and core permeability. In this way, recent works on artificial intelligence techniques have led to introduce a robust machine learning methodology called support vector machine. This paper aims to utilize the SVM for predicting the permeability of three gas wells in the Southern Pars field. Obtained results of SVM showed that the correlation coefficient between core and predicted permeability is 0.97 for testing dataset. Comparing the result of SVM with that of a general regression neural network (GRNN) revealed that the SVM approach is faster and more accurate than the GRNN in prediction of hydrocarbon reservoirs permeability. An increasing number of high performance computing parallel applications leverages the power of the cloud for parallel processing. How to schedule the parallel applications to improve the quality of service is the key to the successful host of parallel applications in the cloud. The large scale of the cloud makes the parallel job scheduling more complicated as even simple parallel job scheduling problem is NP-complete. In this paper, we propose a parallel job scheduling algorithm named MEASY. MEASY adopts migration and consolidation to enhance the most popular EASY scheduling algorithm. Our extensive experiments on well-known workloads show that our algorithm takes very good care of the quality of service. For two common parallel job scheduling objectives, our algorithm produces an up to 41.1% and an average of 23.1% improvement on the average response time; an up to 82.9% and an average of 69.3% improvement on the average slowdown. Our algorithm is robust even in terms that it allows inaccurate CPU usage estimation and high migration cost. This paper investigates the impact of setup cost reduction on an inventory policy for a continuous review mixture inventory model involving controllable backorder rate and variable lead time with a service level constraint, in which the order quantity, setup cost, and lead time are decision variables. Our objective is to develop an algorithm to determine the optimal order quantity, setup cost, and lead time simultaneously, so that the total expected annual cost incurred has a minimum value. Discrete network design is an important part of urban transportation planning. The purpose of this paper is to present a bilevel model for discrete network design. The upper- level model aims to minimize the total travel time under a stochastic demand to design a discrete network. In the lower-level model, demands are assigned to the network through a multiuser traffic equilibrium assignment. Generally, discrete network could affect path selections of demands, while the results of the multiuser traffic equilibrium assignment need to reconstruct a new discrete network. An iterative approach including an improved genetic algorithm and Frank-Wolfe algorithm is used to solve the bi-level model. This paper proposes one possibility to generalize the morphological operations (particularly, dilation, erosion, opening, and closing) to color images. First, properties of a desirable generalization are stated and a brief review is done on former approaches. Then, the method is explained, which is based on a total ordering of the colors in an image induced by its color histogram; this is valid for just one image and may present problems in smoothly coloured images. To solve these drawbacks a refinement consisting of smoothing the histogram and using a joint histogram of several images is presented. The use of computer graphics in many areas allows a real object to be transformed into a three-dimensional computer model (3D) by developing tools to improve the visualization of two- dimensional (2D) and 3D data from series of data point. The tools involved the representation of 2D and 3D primitive entities and parameterization method using B-spline interpolation. However, there is no parameterization method which can handle all types of data points such as collinear data points and large distance of two consecutive data points. Therefore, this paper presents a new parameterization method that is able to solve those drawbacks by visualizing the 2D primitive entity of scanned data point of a real object and construct 3D computer model. The new method has improved a hybrid method by introducing exponential parameterization method in the beginning of the reconstruction process, followed by computing B-spline basis function to find maximum value of the function. The improvement includes solving a linear system of the B-spline basis function using numerical method. Improper selection of the parameterization method may lead to the singularity matrix of the system linear equations. The experimental result on different datasets show that the proposed method performs better in constructing the collinear and two consecutive data points compared to few parameterization methods.
