Polyurethane cement (PUC) is now commonly used in the reinforcement of old bridges, which exhibit various issues such as poor toughness, temperature-sensitive mechanical properties, and brittle failure. These problems can lead to the failure of the reinforcement effect of the PUC on old bridges in certain operating environments, leading to the collapse of such reinforced bridges. In order to alleviate these shortcomings, in this study, the toughness of PUC is improved by adding polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber, carbon fiber, and steel fiber. In addition, we study the change law of the flexural strength of PUC between −40 °C and +40 °C. The control parameters evaluated are fiber type, fiber volume ratio, and temperature. A series of flexural tests and scanning electron microscope (SEM) test results show that the flexural strength first increases and then decreases with the increase in the volume-doping ratio of the three fibers. The optimum volume-mixing ratios of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber, carbon fiber, and steel fiber are 0.3%, 0.04% and 1%, respectively. Excessive addition of fiber will affect the operability and will adversely affect the mechanical properties. The flexural strength of both fiber-reinforced and control samples decreases with increasing temperature. Using the flexural test results, a two-factor (fiber content, temperature) BP neural network flexural strength prediction model is established. In this study, aramid fiber (Kevlar® 29 fiber) and carbon fiber were added into concrete in a hybrid manner to enhance the static and impact mechanical properties. The coupling agent presence on the surface of carbon fibers was spotted in Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) graphs. The carbon fiber with a coupling agent affected the mechanical strength of the reinforced concrete. At 1% fiber/cement weight percentage, the hybrid fiber-reinforced concrete (HFRC) prepared using Kevlar fiber and carbon fiber of 12 and 24 mm in length under different mix proportions was investigated to determine the maximum mechanical strengths. From the test results, the mechanical strength of the HFRC attained better performance than that of the concrete with only Kevlar or carbon fibers. Foremost, the mix proportion of Kevlar/carbon fiber (50–50%) significantly improved the compressive, flexural, and splitting tensile strengths. Under different impact energies, the impact resistance of the HFRC specimen was much higher than that of the benchmark specimen, and the damage of the HFRC specimens was examined with an optical microscope to identify slippage or rupture failure of the fiber in concrete. Fabric-reinforced cementitious matrices (FRCM) are promising technologies that respond to today's architectural approaches. However, due to their high strength and ductility, they are starting to be implemented in buildings as strengthening systems. In this experimental study, the amount of fiber along the load direction in high-strength cementitious matrices and the effects of the fiber orientation on FRCM mechanical properties were studied. A total of four different composites were produced with two fabrics and two matrices. Tensile and flexural tests were carried out on composites. Within the scope of microstructure studies, scanning electron microscope micrographs were obtained and analyzed, along with microtopography sections. The main result obtained from the study indicates that as the fiber area in the direction of the load increases, the load order carried in this direction increases. However, this increase does not have to be proportional to the fiber area used in the direction of the load. The fiber coating and coating matrix interface play important roles in a composite's performance. The carbon fibers can be used more efficiently by using them along the load direction and the loads in the matrix can be transferred to the carbon fibers by creating a larger fiber–matrix interface area.
