Startup have become a very important factor in the global innovation process. Startup have ceased to be an aimless company with high uncertainty. The concept has taken a turn and today these types of firms are young companies founded to develop a unique product or service, bring it to market and make it irresistible and irreplaceable for customers and that are based on innovation, addressing the shortcomings of existing products or creating entirely new categories of goods and services, thereby disrupting ways of thinking and doing business rooted in entire sectors. That is why this paper presents an analysis of the global participation of startup and how in Mexico the Fintech sector has become the favorite of this type of companies. According to IDB (2020), startups are facing the new normal by implementing online activities, such as courses, webinars and support channels (66%). Much less frequent, however, are other actions of greater proximity to entrepreneurs, such as online accompaniment (18%), mentoring (5%) or the management of public support to alleviate the companies (3%). NONPROFIT sector , *CIVIL society , *BASIC needs , *VOLUNTEER service , *VOLUNTEERS - Abstract
The nonprofit sector in Mexico has a limited size and scope, despite of the urgent need faced by millions of citizens that do not have access to the most basic needs. Although Mexicans are regarded to be supportive and generous, they tend to engage in philanthropic activities and volunteering only sporadically and through informal means. Therefore, the fundamental problem faced by the sector is the lack of institutionalization and a poor legal and fiscal environment. The current paper analyzes the origins of the sector in Mexico to identify some of the underlying factors that have influenced it and that have limited its correct development. Then, it evaluates the current status of the sector and enumerates some of the causes that are preventing current organizations from expanding and serving an increased clientele. Finally, it proposes a set of solutions, aimed to eliminate the superfluous legal and fiscal restrictions, as well as to motivate an enhanced cooperation between the government and civil society in order to provide people with the necessary relief. PETROLEUM sales & prices , *FOREIGN exchange rates , *GARCH model , *STATISTICS , *STATISTICAL models - Abstract
Some scholars establish the presence of the dutch disease in Mexico produced by the increase in oil prices in the first decade of the 21st century. In this context, the aim of this paper is to measure the impact of the volatility of the exchange rate (mexican peso-usdollar) influenced by volatility of mexican crude oil price, using a garch model and statistical daily information from 2010 to 2016. The results indicate that the volatility of exchange rate is not impacted by volatility of oil price but on speculation factors on itself. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CIVIL society , *ASSOCIATIONS, institutions, etc. , *INTERNAL auditing , *PUBLIC sector , *PRIVATE companies ,QUESTIONS & answers ,UNITED States. Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 - Abstract
Nowadays, certain governments and civil society organizations are taking part in processes of building up policies, programs, and projects. This situation opens a way for the appearance of quizzes about each of them responsibility for these activities. This article analyzes the concept of shared responsibility and tries to find out the proper definition for the interaction among actors, the way it is established, the values and attitudes that it promotes, as well as the rules, the management mechanisms and the resource distribution that rule that mentioned relationship. With regard to the establishment of this kind of relationship, this study presents the main aspects of some experiences that were carried out in Mexico City, as well as the challenges that the developed strategies and methodologies face. The application of new internal control approaches has been already taken by rules and norms from diverse fiscalization methods in several countries of the American continent (the most notorious case seems to be the Act Sarbanes Oxley, in the United States). The latest control models are being progressively included as a basis for the definition of fiscalization procedures in different countries. This paper explains the way that this framework may be actually used through two different action lines, which are separated but complementary. They can be used both in the Public Sector and private companies for: the development of organizational institutional diagnosis and the establishment of intervention plans, as well as fore the continuous monitoring of internal control structures as a method for contributing to management. On the other hand, the present study presents real cases of practical use of the COSO Model in Latin America. These cases support the work hypothesis created by the author, as well as the features that the writer has identified in projects that have implemented this tool in diverse organizations. Through these examples, and the case description, it can be understood the way the COSO Model, as the object of the current study, should take in order not to remain as just an abstract or academic concept. The COSO Model presents an integrated framework that influences organizations in a concrete and direct form. It covers a place that had not been occupied when considering control under the old concept. Finally, this paper tries to develop the integrated COSO Model framework from a practical point of view, and not only theoretical. Besides this, the article emphasizes the usefulness of the Model concepts as an especially managerial tool. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LABOR law reform , *LABOR laws , *INDUSTRIAL productivity , *LAW , *EMPLOYEE training ,MEXICAN politics & government ,MEXICAN economy - Abstract
The Federal Labor Reform has generated lots of controversy, even since it was presented as an initiative on August 1st 2012 by the former Mexican President, Felipe Calderon, in which he assured necessity to present this labor reform. In this paper it is point out some inconsistencies of this Federal Labor Reform published in the Official Federal Diary on November 30Th of 2012, particularly in reference to the III-Bis chapter named "De la productividad, formación y capacitación de los trabajadores", and specificly expressed in the 153-A article, and its connection with 153-D, 153-E, and 153-1 articles. From the reformation, the article 153-A, which apparently the alteration in the drafting seems to be minimum, this follows a problematic that starts from the central research question: What is the point in reforming article 153-A in this way if apparently it is the same? PUBLIC safety , *STATE governments , *ACQUISITION of data , *ORGANIZATIONAL change , *GOVERNMENT policy , *SOCIOLOGICAL research - Abstract
This paper reports the organizational diagnosis (OD) of a Public Safety State Academy of north-central Mexico as part of an intervention organizational (IO) project in the frame of the transition that occurs with the alternation of two different parties in state government. The main objective is to assess the relevance of the io for promoting change in government organizations. The data collected during the diagnosis reported here constitute evidence of positive weight, especially in light of the emphasis that Jacobson, Butterill and Goering (2005) DO in their model of learning in the IO. We conclude that, even with the constraints of IO implementation, the IO and the OD are very useful to promote change in these organizations, especially, in times of party alternation in government. This paper presents the results of the analysis with an organizational perspective of bullfighting in Mexico, called Tauromaquia. It shows the importance of the process of institutionalization of Tauromaquia since the beginning of this activities on the Iberian peninsula until the present in mexican territory. Analyzed the characteristics of organizational actors that currently form this sector, where they generate dynamics of interaction characterized by a tension between economic rationality focused on maximizing profits and symbolic rationality, based on various explanatory references only accessible through the symbols, evident in the Tauromaquia. It proposes an interpretive diagram that explains the dynamics of interaction between these actors and the coexistence of these two rationalities, which have contributed to the permanence of Tauromaquia in Mexico. Finally we reflect on the appropriateness of incorporating the symbolic dimension in organizational analysis in other sectors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
