Academic libraries, as part of their traditional responsibility, engage in the collection and generation of data and records with a various degree of sensitivity and usefulness. This study examined the importance of library record and advocates for the implementation of cloud computing technology as a viable alternative to other mode of record storage. Cloud computing as a record management tool will help preserve the myriad of records generated from the daily activities of libraries. The paper also identified the danger of paper or electronic method of information storage. It argued that information stored in this format is susceptible to loss by theft, fire or computer viruses, hard drive collapse as well as the destruction of local library internet server due to poor maintenance culture on the part of the personnel. Apart from the data backup function, remote accessibility of these record is another key consideration for cloud computing utility in library record management. In view of the vast potential, especially in the area of its elastic storage capability, it is highly recommended for all academic libraries in the country. However, it is observed that the cost of data and irregular power supply are some of the challenges facing its adoption in Nigeria, as along with the vulnerability to cyber-attacks which may lead to a partial or total loss of record. In these regards, it is further recommended that cloud computing, as a service platform, is adopted as a backup platform rather than a sole tool for record and data management in academic libraries. Purpose: The paper critically examines the nexus between Knowledge Management Practices (KMP) and service delivery in libraries through a detailed review of relevant literature. Special attention was placed on university libraries given their relatively robust system and structures for KMP. The paper also explores how the Socialization, Externalization, Combination and Internalization (SECI) model of Knowledge Management (KM) serves as a tool for the improvement of service delivery in libraries. Method: The approach employed in this study is the critical review of literature. Result: The effective management of knowledge reflected in its creation, organization, sharing and use significantly influences service delivery in libraries. Also, the paper revealed that the SECI model serves as an effective guide in adopting KMP for the improvement of service delivery in libraries. Aim: The paper examined the university library in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and the preconditions for achieving and sustaining the same in Nigeria. 4IR is characterized by a level of automation, deployment of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence, internet connectivity and accessibility to the global information network, subscription to reputable online databases, quality and comprehensive collection in diverse formats, preponderance of digital natives among patrons, increased demand for seamless access to online resources and virtual operations, new library spaces (learning commons, research commons and makerspace), open scholarly communication, research data management, social mediation applications, digital curation and preservation. The challenges militating against effective crystallization of 4IR university libraries include: financial constraints, inad- equate infrastructure, resistance to change, inadequate skills and competencies, security and intrusion issues, lack of exposure to international standards. Conclusions: The paper recommended the following as requisite panacea: leadership, demonstrating and justifying returns on investment, benchmarking practices, anti-intrusion and back-up systems, adequate power supply and bandwidth, endowment and corporate social responsibility, indigenous library management software, and capacity building initiatives. Lestár Gyulaffi (1556-1606?) was a secretary of the Greater Chancery of the Transylvanian Principality. Today, he is best-known as a writer of historical notes and commentaries. These records are considered an excellent source and, therefore, used by scholars researching the 16th century. As the texts have not been recently published, researchers usually use the 19th-century text editions. However, looking at the original documents preserved at the ELTE University Library in Budapest, one realizes that Gyulaffi's writings do not form a compact work, the 19th -century edition is largely a constructed text.
