The author looks at how computer science will transform the humanities. According to the author, algorithmic thinking is transforming both the descriptive sciences and the humanities, bringing them all closer to the mathematical core of computer science. The author discusses the continually increasing reliance on computation, the replacement of paper library collections with online databases and the use of online resources by students writing papers.
