Abstract

The small bowel was run prior to resection and measured 280 cm. Intra-operatively, after a carefully assessment of the bowel length with calibration spheres, 3 short strictures were identified along the terminal ileum. CT Abdomen/Pelvis in May 2021 demonstrated dilated loops of distal small bowel in the abdomen and pelvis with suspected transition in the right lower quadrant, near the terminal ileum and surgical clips. Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) is one of the most common life-threatening gastrointestinal disorders in neonates, with 10% of neonates effected. [Extracted from the article]
