The climb of Gasherbrum IV's (7,925 m) 'Shining Wall' in 1985 by Voytek Kurtyka and Robert Schauer is considered one of the greatest mountaineering achievements in the twentieth century, even though the two climbers did not reach the summit. The article explores three ways of understanding mountaineering without the objective of reaching the summit. I start with a game-playing approach and then a view on mountaineering that takes its inspiration from deep ecology and argue that while both have the potential for explaining important aspects of mountaineering, neither will fully account for the value of climbing mountains without summiting. Finally, I argue that we can supplement either of these two views with a radically different way of understanding mountaineering, which involves creating and appreciating a work of art. Does congruence between auditory and visual modalities affect aesthetic experience? While cross-modal correspondences between vision and hearing are well-documented, previous studies show conflicting results regarding whether audiovisual correspondence affects subjective aesthetic experience. Here, in collaboration with the Kentler International Drawing Space (NYC, USA), we depart from previous research by using music specifically composed to pair with visual art in the professionally-curated Music as Image and Metaphor exhibition. Our pre-registered online experiment consisted of 4 conditions: Audio, Visual, Audio-Visual-Intended (artist-intended pairing of art/music), and Audio-Visual-Random (random shuffling). Participants (N = 201) were presented with 16 pieces and could click to proceed to the next piece whenever they liked. We used time spent as an implicit index of aesthetic interest. Additionally, after each piece, participants were asked about their subjective experience (e.g., feeling moved). We found that participants spent significantly more time with Audio, followed by Audiovisual, followed by Visual pieces; however, they felt most moved in the Audiovisual (bi-modal) conditions. Ratings of audiovisual correspondence were significantly higher for the Audiovisual-Intended compared to Audiovisual-Random condition; interestingly, though, there were no significant differences between intended and random conditions on any other subjective rating scale, or for time spent. Collectively, these results call into question the relationship between cross-modal correspondence and aesthetic appreciation. This paper catalyses the academic urgency to understand agri-food system transformation pathways. Such transformation requires new food growing imaginaries of rooted in a change of thinking and ways of engaging with more-than-human perspectives. Urban spaces are hubs of human and more-than-human interactions, and urban organic farming offers an excellent site for exploring such new food growing imaginaries. The research presented here innovates theoretical and methodological knowledge in more-than-human geography. It develops alternative food growing imaginaries through a sensory ethnography at an urban organic workers’ cooperative Organiclea and visual arts methodologies. Through that, the paper brings to the fore the marginalized more-than-human perspectives by exploring more-than-human sensory Umwelts – taste and nutrition for the soil, sound for soil denizens, smell for honeybees, tactile perception for common weeds – and understanding human experience of food growing through sight. Attuning to a more-than-human sensorium broadens our knowledge of the life stories of other biotic and abiotic critters and recognizes that human and more-than-human world-making projects are interconnected. Art research has long aimed to unravel the complex associations between specific attributes, such as color, complexity, and emotional expressiveness, and art judgments, including beauty, creativity, and liking. However, the fundamental distinction between attributes as inherent characteristics or features of the artwork and judgments as subjective evaluations remains an exciting topic. This paper reviews the literature of the last half century, to identify key attributes, and employs machine learning, specifically Gradient Boosted Decision Trees (GBDT), to predict 13 art judgments along 17 attributes. Ratings from 78 art novice participants were collected for 54 Western artworks. Our GBDT models successfully predicted 13 judgments significantly. Notably, judged creativity and disturbing/irritating judgments showed the highest predictability, with the models explaining 31% and 32% of the variance, respectively. The attributes emotional expressiveness, valence, symbolism, as well as complexity emerged as consistent and significant contributors to the models' performance. Content-representational attributes played a more prominent role than formal-perceptual attributes. Moreover, we found in some cases non-linear relationships between attributes and judgments with sudden inclines or declines around medium levels of the rating scales. By uncovering these underlying patterns and dynamics in art judgment behavior, our research provides valuable insights to advance the understanding of aesthetic experiences considering visual art, inform cultural practices, and inspire future research in the field of art appreciation. Background: A dolutegravir (DTG)-based antiretroviral regimen has been rolled out for pregnant women in low- and middle-income countries since 2020. However, available safety data are limited to a few clinical trials and observational studies. Hence, we present real-world pregnancy and birth outcome safety data from a large sample multicenter cohort study in Ethiopia. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted in fourteen hospitals across Ethiopia from 2017 to 2022. HIV-infected pregnant women were followed from the date of prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) care enrolment until the infant was 6–8 weeks old. The primary safety outcome was a composite of adverse pregnancy events comprising spontaneous abortion, intrauterine fetal death (IUFD) before onset of labor, preterm birth, and maternal death. Additionally, a composite adverse birth outcome was assessed, comprising intrapartum fetal demise, low birth weight, and neonatal death. Finally, a composite of adverse pregnancy or birth outcome was also investigated. The exposure of interest was the antiretroviral treatment (ART) regimen used during pregnancy for PMTCT of HIV. Results: During the study period, 2643 women were enrolled in routine PMTCT care. However, 2490 (92.2%) participants were eligible for the study. A total of 136/1724 (7.9%, 95% CI: 6.7–9.3%) women experienced adverse pregnancy outcomes. Fewer women in the DTG-based group (5.4%, 95% CI: 3.7–7.5%) had adverse pregnancy outcomes than in the Efavirenz (EFV)-based group (8.3%, 95% CI: 6.6–10.3%), P = 0.004. After controlling for baseline differences, the DTG group had a 43% lower risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes (adjusted odd ratio (AOR), 0.57; 95% CI, 0.32–0.96%) and a 53% lower risk of preterm birth (AOR, 0.47; 95% CI, 0.22–0.98%) compared to the EFV group. A total of 103/1616 (6.4%, 95% CI: 5.2–7.7%) women had adverse birth outcomes. Although the difference was not statistically significant, fewer women in the DTG group (30/548; 5.5%, 95% CI: 3.7–7.7%) than in the EFV group (57/830; 6.9%, 95% CI: 5.2–8.8%) had adverse birth outcomes. Conclusions: In this study, we observed that DTG-based regimens were associated with better pregnancy and birth outcome safety profiles, reaffirming the WHO recommendation. However, a prospective study is recommended to assess uncaptured maternal and perinatal adverse outcomes, such as congenital abnormalities, and infant growth and neurocognitive development. Inspired by critical trauma and embodiment theories, this study aims to illustrate how an arts-based approach such as body mapping assists in exploring the lived experiences of youth, potentially serving as a trauma-informed approach. This qualitative study collaborated with street-involved and homeless youth (SIHY) who have eating struggles while living in situations of food insecurity and other forms of oppression. Eleven participants partook in three individual face-to-face interview sessions and one arts-based body map activity, respectively, at a local SIHY resource centre in a metropolitan city in Canada. Guided by Interpretative Phenomenological Approach (IPA), our findings illustrated how body mapping (1) enabled a deepened understanding of SIHY's eating struggles as both a form of suffering and an embodied means of coping with food insecurity and other systemic and relational trauma(s); (2) provided a transformative experience leading to greater self-compassion and healing; and (3) served as a trauma-informed method that fostered choice and validation. We attest that, as a creative and supportive clinical and research tool, body mapping taps into the unspoken, expressive, embodied, and somatic aspects of eating struggles, food insecurity, poverty, and other forms of oppression deepening knowledge and informing social work research and practice. This scoping review aims to describe the range of research studies using arts-based data collection methods with immigrant and racialized older adults. A secondary aim is to identify challenges and strengths of using these approaches with this population. This review uses Arksey and O'Malley's five-stage scoping review framework with a final number of 16 references included for the study. Enhanced social connectedness, increased transparency and quality of findings, and self-empowerment were key strengths of using arts-based approaches for data collection. Challenges identified included resource limitations, cultural and language barriers, and barriers to meaningful engagement. Only a small number of studies have utilized arts-based methods with immigrant and racialized older adults. Arts-based approaches require unique methodological adaptations with this population but have the potential to increase engagement in research activities, authenticity of research findings and empowerment of older adults. In the Western context of delayed motherhood and declining fertility, an array of fertility enhancements have emerged. While bioethical debates and literature on the technological prowess of these enhancements proliferate, it is useful to explore the lived experience of women undergoing them. This article uses Tabitha Moses' artwork Investment, a series of embroidered hospital gowns, as a vehicle to explore lived experience of women engaging with fertility enhancements, including in vitro fertilisation. This analysis challenges dominant biomedical and corporate discourses framing fertility enhancements as benign. Using constructs of patriarchy, biopower, biopolitics (Foucault), and technobiopower (Haraway), we identify how power over women's bodies is extended through fertility enhancements. Haraway's notion of figuration supports the analysis. Understood as a tropic melding of semiotic and material, the figuration of The Infertile Woman offers a way to explore discursive operations of power and amid them the creation of a new form of reproductive labour. This essay considers a painting from Rene Magritte, The Treachery of Images, also known as "This is not a pipe," the translation of the prominent statement Ceci n'est pas une pipe in the painting, which Barbara Buttenfield had prominently placed in her University of Buffalo office. It is an iconic and surrealistic twentieth century artwork (with a second version), widely copied and readily available online. Its visual juxtaposition of a textual element and detailed realist painting of a classical smoker's pipe can quickly become more than a surrealistic play with words and images and poignantly stimulates associations and disconnections between image and object, text and object, and text and image. Viewers can also see a relevance of this painting to a number of representational issues involving images and maps. However, I want to focus in this essay on just two questions: 1) why do people affirm the connections between graphical map images and graphics in light of a fundamental disconnection between map and the represented territory or objects and 2) how do people still find sense in maps after we acknowledge the limits of any sense of correspondence between map image and experienced geography? Background/Objectives: Women with subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) were reported to be at an increased perinatal risk. We aimed to investigate the relationship between SCH and perinatal outcomes in singleton pregnancies resulting from assisted reproduction technology (ART). Methods: We retrospectively examined the perinatal outcomes of ART singleton pregnancies in women who underwent thyroid function screening before conception and delivered at our hospital from January 2020 to July 2023. We defined SCH as thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels > 2.5 mU/L and normal free T4 levels. The patients were categorized into three groups: normal thyroid function (group A), SCH without levothyroxine therapy (group B), and SCH with levothyroxine therapy (group C). The risks of preterm birth, preeclampsia, fetal growth restriction, manual placental removal, and blood loss at delivery were compared among the three groups. Results: Out of the 650 ART singleton deliveries, 581 were assigned to group A, 34 to group B, and 35 to group C. The preterm birth rate at <34 weeks was significantly higher in group B and significantly lower in group C than in group A. The rate of preterm delivery at <34 weeks increased in correlation with TSH levels. Levothyroxine therapy was the significant preventive factor for preterm birth at <34 weeks. Conclusions: The preterm birth rate before 34 weeks was significantly higher in the SCH group. Levothyroxine therapy is a significant protective factor against preterm birth before 34 weeks. Universal screening for thyroid function and appropriate hormone therapy in pregnant women may help reduce perinatal risks, including preterm birth. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The "Stories of stories" project, using a humanistic approach, aims to (a) shed light on the impact of clowns' artistic work, in the hospital, as a play with consequences, rather than shallow entertainment and (b) contribute to the refinement and improvement of the clown artists' intervention quality, bringing hypotheses of reflection hardly within reach during their improvised performance. We are interested in the subjective experience of the artists. The present analysis was developed from the clown's written reports after visiting the pedopsychiatry ward in a Portuguese public hospital. The visit was performed by a clown's dyad, and the audience was young teenage girls with anorexia. Public Significance Statement: This article aims to unveil the meaning and deepness of Doctor Clowns' encounters with children, their caregivers, and hospital professionals. It also aims to contribute to the improvement and growing awareness of the artists, regarding their professional training when intervening in a context of vulnerability, such as the hospital, and an especially vulnerable audience, sick or injured children and adolescents. STUDY QUESTION How are ART and IUI regulated, funded, and registered in European countries, and how has the situation changed since 2018? SUMMARY ANSWER Of the 43 countries performing ART and IUI in Europe, and participating in the survey, specific legislation exists in only 39 countries, public funding varies across and sometimes within countries (and is lacking or minimal in four countries), and national registries are in place in 33 countries; only a small number of changes were identified, most of them in the direction of improving accessibility, through increased public financial support and/or opening access to additional subgroups. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY The annual reports of the European IVF-Monitoring Consortium (EIM) clearly show the existence of different approaches across Europe regarding accessibility to and efficacy of ART and IUI treatments. In a previous survey, some coherent information was gathered about how those techniques were regulated, funded, and registered in European countries, showing that diversity is the paradigm in this medical field. STUDY DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION A survey was designed using the SurveyMonkey tool consisting of 90 questions covering several domains (legal, funding, and registry) and considering specific details on the situation of third-party donations. New questions widened the scope of the previous survey. Answers refer to the situation of countries on 31 December 2022. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTINGS, METHODS All members of the EIM were invited to participate. The received answers were checked and initial responders were asked to address unclear answers and to provide any additional information considered relevant. Tables resulting from the consolidated data were then sent to members of the Committee of National Representatives of ESHRE, requesting a second check. Conflicting information was clarified by direct contact. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE Information was received from 43 out of the 45 European countries where ART and IUI are performed. There were 39 countries with specific legislation on ART, and artificial insemination was considered an ART technique in 33 of them. Accessibility is limited to infertile couples only in 8 of the 43 countries. In 5 countries, ART and IUI are permitted also for treatments of single women and all same sex couples, while a total of 33 offer treatment to single women and 19 offer treatment to female couples. Use of donated sperm is allowed in all except 2 countries, oocyte donation is allowed in 38, simultaneous donation of sperm and oocyte is allowed in 32, and embryo donation is allowed in 29 countries. Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT)-M/SR (for monogenetic disorders, structural rearrangements) is not allowed in 3 countries and PGT-A (for aneuploidy) is not allowed in 10; surrogacy is accepted in 15 countries. Except for marital/sexual situation, female age is the most frequently reported limiting criterion for legal access to ART: minimal age is usually set at 18 years and the maximum ranges from 42 to 54 with some countries not using numeric definition. Male maximum age is set in very few countries. Where third-party donors are permitted, age is frequently a limiting criterion (male maximum age ranging from 35 to 50; female maximum age from 30 to 37). Other legal restrictions in third-party donation are the number of children born from the same donor (or, in some countries, the number of families with children from the same donor) and, in 12 countries, there is a maximum number of oocyte donations. How countries deal with the anonymity is diverse: strict anonymity, anonymity just for the recipients (not for children when reaching legal adulthood age), a mixed system (anonymous and non-anonymous donations), and strict non-anonymity. Inquiring about donors' genetic screening showed that most countries have enforced either mandatory or scientific recommendations that exclude the most prevalent genetic diseases, although, again, diversity is evident. Reimbursement/compensation systems exist in more than 30 European countries, with around 10 describing clearly defined maximum amounts considered acceptable. Public funding systems are extremely variable. One country provides no financial assistance to ART/IUI patients and three offer only minimal support. Limits to the provision of funding are defined in the others i.e. age (female maximum age is the most used), existence of previous children, BMI, maximum number of treatments publicly supported, and techniques not entitled for funding. In a few countries reimbursement is linked to a clinical policy. The definitions of the type of expenses covered within an IVF/ICSI cycle, up to which limit, and the proportion of out-of-pocket costs for patients are also extremely dissimilar. National registries of ART are in place in 33 out of the 43 countries contributing to the survey and a registry of donors exists in 19 of them. When comparing with the results of the previous survey, the main changes are: (i) an extension of the beneficiaries of ART techniques (and IUI), evident in nine countries; (ii) public financial support exists now in Albania and Armenia; (iii) in Luxembourg, the only ART centre expanded its on-site activities; (iv) donor-conceived children are entitled to know the donor identity in six countries more than in 2018; and (v) four more countries have set a maximum number of oocyte donations. LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION Although the responses were provided by well-informed and committed individuals and submitted to double checking, no formal validation by official bodies was in place. Therefore, possible inaccuracies cannot be excluded. The results presented are a cross-section in time, and ART and IUI frameworks within European countries undergo continuous modification. Finally, some domains of ART activity were deliberately left out of the scope of this survey. WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS Our results offer a detailed updated view of the ART and IUI situation in European countries. It provides extensive answers to many relevant questions related to ART usage at the national level and could be used by institutions and policymakers at both national and European levels. Recent advances in preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) have significantly enhanced its application in ART, providing critical insights into embryo viability, and potentially reducing both the time spent in fertility treatments and the risk of pregnancy loss. With the integration of next-generation sequencing, PGT-A now offers greater diagnostic precision, although challenges related to segmental aneuploidies and mosaicism remain. The emergence of non-invasive PGT-A (niPGT-A), which analyzes DNA in spent embryo culture media, promises a simpler aneuploidy screening method. This mini review assesses the methodological criteria for test validation, the current landscape of PGT-A, and the potential of niPGT-A, while evaluating its advantages and potential pitfalls. It underscores the importance of a robust three-phase validation process to ensure the clinical reliability of PGT-A. Despite initial encouraging data, niPGT-A not only confronts issues of DNA amplification failure and diagnostic inaccuracies but also has yet to meet the three-prong criteria required for appropriate test validation, necessitating further research for its clinical adoption. The review underscores that niPGT-A, like traditional PGT-A, must attain the high standards of precision and reliability expected of any genetic testing platform used in clinical settings before it can be adopted into routine ART protocols. Quality healthcare requires two critical components: patients' best interests and best decisions to achieve that goal. The first goal is the lodestar, unchanged and unchanging over time. The second component is a more dynamic and rapidly changing paradigm in healthcare. Clinical decision-making has transitioned from an opinion-based paradigm to an evidence-based and data-driven process. A realization that technology and artificial intelligence can bring value adds a third component to the decision process. And the fertility sector is not exempt. The debate about AI is front and centre in reproductive technologies. Launching the transition from a conventional provider-driven decision paradigm to a software-enhanced system requires a roadmap to enable effective and safe implementation. A key nodal point in the ascending arc of AI in the fertility sector is how and when to bring these innovations into the ART routine to improve workflow, outcomes, and bottom-line performance. The evolution of AI in other segments of clinical care would suggest that caution is needed as widespread adoption is urged from several fronts. But the lure and magnitude for the change that these tech tools hold for fertility care remain deeply engaging. Exploring factors that could enhance thoughtful implementation and progress towards a tipping point (or perhaps not) should be at the forefront of any 'next steps' strategy. The objective of this Opinion is to discuss four critical areas (among many) considered essential to successful uptake of any new technology. STUDY QUESTION Is IVF indicated for couples with age-related infertility? SUMMARY ANSWER IVF may be of doubtful utility for age-related infertility. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY A diagnosis of unexplained infertility is drawn when the diagnostic work-up fails to identify any patent cause. Although typically managed uniformly, unexplained infertility is likely to comprise a wide range of conditions, including age-related infertility (at least in older women). Unfortunately, no validated tests for the identification of age-related infertility exist and these women are typically treated as unexplained cases. However, homologous ART may be less effective for these women because these techniques may be unable to treat the detrimental effects of ageing on oocyte competence. STUDY DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION Women aged 18–42 years who underwent IVF procedures between January 2014 and December 2021 were selected retrospectively. In the first part of the study, we aimed to assess whether the proportion of women with unexplained infertility (i.e. without patent causes of infertility) increased with age. In the second part of the study, women with unexplained infertility were matched 1:1 by age, study period, and duration of infertility, to those with a patent cause of infertility. If our hypothesis is valid, the first part of the study should highlight an increase in the proportion of unexplained infertility with age. Moreover, in the second part of the study, one should observe a sharper decrease in the rate of IVF success of the procedure with age in women with an unremarkable work-up compared to those with a definite cause of infertility. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS Women were included if: they had been trying to conceive for more than 2 years, they had retrieved more than three oocytes, and had not undergone previous IVF attempts. We exclude couples with severe male factor (criptozoospermia), chronic anovulation, untreated hydrosalpinx, or intracavitary diseases. The first part of the study aimed at investigating the relative proportion of unexplained infertility with age. The outcome of the second part was the distribution of the live births between unexplained versus explained infertility, in women younger or older than 35 years. Only the results of the first IVF cycle were considered (including both fresh and frozen cycles). The live birth rate corresponded to the cumulative chance of a live birth per oocyte retrieval. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE One thousand five hundred and thirty-five women were selected for the first part of the study; 742 of them had unexplained infertility (48%). The frequency of this diagnosis was lower among women aged <35 years (40%) compared to those ≥35 years (52%) (P  < 0.001). A clear gradient emerged when considering smaller intervals of age (P  < 0.001). A total of 1134 women (567 unexplained cases and 567 explained cases) were selected for the second part of the study. Baseline variables were comparable between women with unexplained and explained infertility. Among women younger than 35 years (n = 229 unexplained cases and 229 explained cases), 108 live births were observed in women with unexplained infertility (47%) and 88 in those with explained infertility (38%). In comparison, among women older than 35 years, the live births occurred in 90 (27%) and 114 (34%) couples, respectively (P  = 0.03). The adjusted odds ratio (OR) for a live birth in older women with unexplained infertility was 0.63 (95% CI: 0.43–0.94). In other words, the effectiveness of IVF in older women with unexplained infertility is reduced by an additional 37% when compared to women of similar age with a patent cause of infertility. Moreover, when considering smaller intervals of age, a gradient of the adverse effect of age on the distribution of live births between unexplained and explained infertility emerged (P  = 0.003). Overall, these results support the hypothesis that IVF may be of modest benefit in women with age-related infertility. The decline in IVF success is sharper in women with unexplained infertility compared to those with explained infertility, indirectly suggesting that IVF cannot effectively treat age-related infertility. LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION We postulated that the greater decline in IVF success with age in the unexplained group could be related to the concomitant increase in the proportion of women with age-related infertility. However, even if this is theoretically logical, the unavailability of validated tools to diagnose age-related infertility makes our inference speculative. We cannot exclude that the prevalence of other unknown causes of infertility that cannot also be effectively overcome with IVF could increase with age. WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS Our findings suggest that IVF may be of modest utility for treating age-related infertility. Offering this procedure to older women with an unremarkable infertility work-up may be questioned. However, the diagnosis of age-related infertility remains challenging and identifying a biomarker that could reliably diagnose age-related infertility is a priority. Byzantium, throughout its thousand-year reign, left a significant legacy that continues to be rediscovered within the framework of modern academic studies. The Byzantine Empire embodied the heritage of Hellenic culture and tradition alongside the continuity of the Roman Empire. However, its most distinct characteristic, besides the two aforementioned, was Christianity in its specific form known as the Eastern Orthodox tradition. A pivotal moment for the modern study of philosophy within Byzantium arrived in the mid-20th century. This specifically refers to the publication of Byzantine Philosophy by Vasilios Tatakis in Emil Bréhier's History of Philosophy series (1949). In the introductory remarks of this work, Tatakis emphasizes that while increased interest in Byzantium emerged in the 18th century, philosophy often seemed to be an afterthought within this growing focus. John of Damascus (8th century) did not live within the borders of the Byzantine Empire, but rather in Damascus, which was then part of the Umayyad Caliphate. Objectives: This qualitative study aimed to comprehend the psychological well-beings and available interventions of current Chinese infertile patients, as well as investigate more integrated and effective patient support interventions, if necessary. Background: It is well known that infertility is a difficult struggle. Assisted reproductive technologies (ART) provide patients with the hope of having a child, but they also cause them pain and stress. There is a dearth of research on the mental health of infertile patients, particularly in developing nations such as China. Method: Individual interviews were conducted with eight experienced clinicians at the Reproductive Medicine Center from five different hospitals. On the basis of the grounded theory, interviews were transcribed and recursively analysed with the NVivo 12 Plus software by a research team. Results: 73 categories were created, which were then grouped into 12 subthemes that were combined to form the following themes: Theme I: Psychological Distress; Theme II: Sources of Distress; Theme III: Protective Factors; and Theme IV: Interventions. Conclusions: The themes of subjective experience identified in the study reveal infertile patients' emotional disturbance and resources of distress, consistent with previous related studies. Despite limitations such as the relatively small number of participants and the exclusively self-report nature of qualitative study, the findings of the study imply the importance of emotional and physical support networks for infertile patients at Reproductive Medicine Centers, consistency of psychological awareness and adequate professional supports. Background: People with intellectual disabilities are rarely involved in research on quality of life. The study sought to answer the question: what do people with intellectual disabilities believe improves or hinders their quality of life? Method: Using an inclusive, accessible research design, 18 participants met in small groups to answer the study's question using their choice of arts‐based media. Participants completed the analysis collaboratively, identifying key themes among their responses. Results: The participants concluded that supports, well‐being, hobbies, and activities contribute to quality of life. Lack of accessibility, assumptions, negative behaviours, stress, and negative people (staff, roommates, people in general) were identified as detractors of quality of life. Conclusions: To continue to make progress in improving the quality of life of individuals with intellectual disabilities, the voice of those with intellectual disabilities is key. This article scrutinizes how speakers in multi-party conversations on visual art use the Swedish connective för att 'because' in conjunction with their embodied behavior to elaborate on their prior contributions that have not received sufficient uptake by their recipients. The present multimodal interactional analysis demonstrates that the general interactional motivations for the use of turn-expanding practices with för att are to manage not fully affiliating responses or a complete lack of uptake. The connective för att operates discursively and marks the upcoming talk as an explanation of some sort. The för att -prefaced contribution serves as a justification and a warrant for a first action, as well as elaborating on or merely reformulating it. The speakers also signal with embodied cues that they are prepared to elaborate on their first contribution. After having deployed depicting or pointing gestures during their first contribution, the speakers do not retract to a full embodied rest position, but halt in an intermediate body position alongside or directly after the syntactic completion of the first contribution. Background: Adolescents and young adults (AYA) living with HIV have been shown to have lower rates of viral load testing and viral suppression as compared to older adults. We examined trends over time and predictors of HIV viral load monitoring and viral suppression among AYA in a large HIV treatment programme in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Methods: We analysed longitudinal data of AYA aged 10–24 years initiated on antiretroviral therapy between January 2017 and October 2022. Trend models were used to assess changes in HIV viral load testing and viral suppression by calendar year. Generalised estimating equations were used to examine the relationship of sociodemographic and clinical factors with HIV viral load testing and viral suppression. Results: Out of 15,759 AYA, the percentage of those who received a 6‐month HIV viral load testing increased from 40.6% in 2017 to 64.7% in 2022 and, a notable annual increase of 5.6% (p < 0.001). A higher HIV viral load testing uptake was observed among 20‐ to 24‐year‐olds (87.7%) compared to 10‐ to 19‐year‐olds (80.2%) (p < 0.001). The likelihood of not receiving an HIV viral load test within 12 months of antiretroviral therapy initiation was higher among 10‐ to 19‐year‐olds (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] = 1.7; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.4–2.0), advanced HIV disease (aOR = 1.3; 95% CI = 1.12–1.53), normal nutrition status at enrolment aOR 2.6 (95% CI = 1.59–4.26) and initiation of non‐nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors regimen aOR 1.2 (95% CI = 1.08–1.34). The proportion of AYA with viral suppression increased from 83.0% in 2017 to 94.6% in 2022. Notably, the overall trend in viral suppression increased significantly at 2.4% annually. The risk of not achieving viral suppression was greater among 10‐ to 14‐year‐olds (aOR = 2; 95% CI = 1.75–2.43) and 15‐ to 19‐year‐olds (aOR = 1.4; 95% CI = 1.24–1.58) as compared to 20–24 years; being male (aOR = 1.16; 95% CI = 1.02–1.32); undernourished (aOR = 1.53; 95% CI = 1.17–1.99); in WHO Stage II (aOR = 1.16; 95% CI = 1.02–1.33) and III (aOR = 1.21; 95% CI = 1.03–1.42) and being on an non‐nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors regimen (aOR = 1.32; 95% CI = 1.18–1.48). Conclusion: HIV viral load testing uptake at 6 months of antiretroviral therapy initiation and viral suppression increased from 2017 to 2022; however, overall HIV viral load testing was suboptimal. Background: Antiretroviral therapy (ART) has transformed the life of PLHIV with a longer life expectancy. The rising coexistence of noncommunicable diseases (NCD)s especially type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and hypertension (HTN) among PLHIV (people living with HIV) is much more complicated and demanding for the health system, patients, and their families. To document the current status of type 2 DM and HTN among known diabetic/hypertensive PLHIV attending ART center, tertiary care hospital of South Gujarat. Materials and Methods: A mixed method study (cross-sectional survey followed by qualitative in-depth interview) was conducted among 184 PLHIV on ART with history of Type 2 DM and/or Hypertension who were registered and availing services from ART center, tertiary care hospital. Convenient sampling technique was used. All the participants were interviewed using pre-designed, semi-structured questionnaire, during their routine visits. In -depth interview (IDI) has been conducted to explore the delivery of NCD services at ART Centre. Results: Out of 184 PLHIV on ART, the most common co-morbidities were Type 2 DM (46.2%), HTN (39.13%), and 14.67% had both. Among total 184 participants, 64.1% were males and 35.9% were females. Only 22.3% of participants were availing treatment services for the above at tertiary care hospital. The study results showed a range of findings involving ART adherence, BMI, RBS, and BP measurements were included. IDI results described the NCD service delivery at ART Center. Conclusions: Study results suggest that the services received by PLHIV with NCD require an overhauling. Routine monitoring and strengthening of existing services should be focused to upgrade the quality and continuum of the care provided to PLHIV with NCD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To investigate the relationship between anti‐Müllerian hormone (AMH) level and early pregnancy loss in patients who underwent their first embryo transfer by hormone replacement therapy–frozen–thawed embryo transfer (HRT‐FET) and analyze the threshold effect. Methods: A retrospective cohort analysis was performed on pregnant women undergoing HRT‐FET at the Reproductive Medical Center of Henan Provincial People's Hospital from January 2016 to December 2021. The patients were divided into four groups based on AMH concentration according to the Poseidon criteria: group A (≤1 μg/L), group B (1–≤2 μg/L), group C (2–≤6 μg/L), and group D (>6 μg/L). Univariate analysis, multivariate logistic regression analysis, smooth curve fitting, and threshold effect analysis were applied to investigate the influence of AMH on the outcome of early pregnancy loss in in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection and HRT‐FET cycles. Results: Of the 6597 pregnant women, early pregnancy loss occurred in 893, giving an early pregnancy loss rate of 13.54%. Univariate regression analysis demonstrated that age, female body mass index, AMH, antral follicle count, endometrial thickness at endometrial transformation day, total retrieved oocyte number, number of pregnancies, duration of infertility, type of infertility, and the number of embryos transferred were all factors influencing the early pregnancy loss rate (P < 0.050). Multivariate logistic regression analysis, after adjusting for confounders, further stratified the analysis of patients of different ages. With group A as the control group, the results showed that when age was younger than 35 years, the pregnancy loss rates in groups B, C, and D were lower than that in group A, with statistical significance (P < 0.050); when age was 35 years or older, there was no statistically significant difference in outcome indicators between the groups (P > 0.050). A threshold effect analysis revealed that the AMH threshold was 2.83 μg/L. When the AMH concentration was less than 2.83 μg/L, the early pregnancy loss rate decreased significantly with increasing AMH concentration; the early pregnancy loss rate decreased by 21% for each unit increase in AMH (odds ratio 0.79; 95% confidence interval 0.71–0.88; P < 0.001); when the AMH concentration was 2.83 μg/L or more, there was no statistical difference in the change in early pregnancy loss rate (odds ratio 1.01; 95% confidence interval 0.99–1.03; P = 0.383). Conclusion: For pregnant women after their first embryo transfer, there is a curvilinear relationship between the influences of AMH levels on early pregnancy loss rates in patients younger than 35 years. When the AMH level was less than 2.83 μg/L, the early pregnancy loss rate declined significantly with increasing AMH levels. In Mongolia, the development of modern art has been rapidly developing in recent years in the fields of Cubism, Impressionism, Surrealism, Abstract, and Expressionism, and dozens of works have been created. During this period, the artists and artists of our country kept pace with the global changes and innovations in the field of art studies, created new types of works of modern art, and continued to learn and develop new methods of theory and practice. Since 1990, Mongolia has transitioned from a centrally planned economic system to a market economic system, and individual ideals and freedom have increased not only in the industrial sector but also in the field of painting, and the direction of modern painting has begun to develop rapidly since then. In line with this, in addition to the public access to modern artworks, the need to read, understand, and explain their meaning and content has increased. Ergo, through the films I Am (2010) and Mimi (2021), this article probes into the intertwining socioeconomic situations of the large percentage of infertile women and claims that the positive discourse around the 'new Indian women' is inherently diluted and undermined. Aesthetic experiences, emerging saliently in the arts, play a pivotal role in transformative learning and creative processes that elicit physiological, affective, and cognitive responses associated with mental health indices. Interactions between subjects and aesthetic objects (e.g., visual artwork, music, and moving bodies) often entail elements of surprise and uncertainty that drive the inference of the hidden causes in the subject's internal and external environment. These generate dynamics that align with the action-oriented Predictive Processing framework of brain function. Creative Arts Therapies (CATs) harness these dynamics by cultivating relational engagement using the arts modalities, prompting affective and cognitive processing. In this manuscript, we offer a review and conceptual analysis of recent empirical findings and theoretical premises that underpin aesthetic experiences and their relation to the psychotherapeutic use of the arts with a broad spectrum of populations and mental health conditions. We present a neuroscience-based approach to aesthetic intra- and inter-personal experiences, integrating therapeutic change factors of externalization-concretization, embodiment, and symbolization with functional network configurations, and interpersonal brain-to-brain coupling, to support predictive processing, learning, and creativity. Present and future interdisciplinary collaborations are underlined to elucidate the neurodynamic mechanisms driving psychological transformations, bridging neuroaesthetics and CATs. Background: Insulin resistance (IR) is related with adverse outcomes of in vitro fertilization (IVF) in women with obesity, but little is known about the relationship between IR and unexpected poor ovarian response (uPOR) in non-obese subjects with sufficient ovarian parameters (classified as POSEIDON group 1). This research aims to explore the association between the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and uPOR in non-obese women with normal biomarkers of ovarian reserve. Methods: The retrospective cohort study was conducted at a fertility center. The main inclusion criteria were age < 35 years, body mass index (BMI) < 28 kg/m2, normal ovarian reserve (anti-Mullerian hormone ≥ 1.2 ng/ml, antral follicle count ≥ 5). Women undergoing the first oocyte retrieval cycle were included consecutively between 2018 until 2023. Patients who have ≤ 9 oocytes retrieved were defined as uPOR. The multivariable logistic model and subgroup analysis were conducted after adjusting confounders. Results: A total of 6977 cycles were included. The adjusted odds ratio was 1.25 (95% confidence interval [CI], 1.12–1.39) for the increment of Ln HOMA-IR which was taken as a continuous variable. Meanwhile, as a sensitivity analysis, elevated tertile of HOMA-IR exhibited an increase in risk of uPOR for the third tertile (≥ 2.75) when compared with the first tertile (< 1.75) with OR of 1.33 (95%CI, 1.15–1.54). In the subgroup analysis, the positive association remained consistent. Conclusion: Elevated HOMA-IR values is significantly associated with increased risk of uPOR in non-obese women classified as POSEIDON group 1. Our study provided evidence for the adverse influence of IR on the ovarian response during IVF and shed light on the importance of IR measurement at the time of pre-stimulation among non-obese women. Introduction: Long-acting injectable antiretroviral treatment (LAI-ART) has emerged as a novel alternative to the burden of daily oral pills. The bi-monthly intramuscular injectable containing cabotegravir and rilpivirine holds the promise of improving adherence to ART. The perspectives of potential users of LAI-ART, the majority of whom reside in Eastern and Southern Africa, are still largely unexplored. We set out to understand the experiences of people with HIV (PWH) who received LAI-ART at Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital in mid-Western Uganda for at least 12 months. Methods: This qualitative study, conducted between July and August 2023, was nested within a larger study. We conducted four focus groups with 32 (out of 69) PWH who received intramuscular injections of cabotegravir and rilpivirine. In-depth interviews were held with six health workers who delivered LAI-ART to PWH. Data were analyzed by thematic approach broadly modeled on the five domains of the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR). Results: There was high acceptability of LAI-ART (30 /32 or 94%) participants requested to remain on LAI-ART even after the end of the 12-month trial. Adherence to ART was reportedly improved when compared to daily oral treatment. Participants credited LAI-ART with; superior viral load suppression, redemption from the daily psychological reminder of living with HIV, enhanced privacy in HIV care and treatment, reduced HIV-related stigma associated with taking oral pills and that it absolved them from carrying bulky medication packages. Conversely, nine participants reported pain around the injection site and a transient fever soon after administering the injection as side effects of LAI-ART. Missed appointments for receiving the bi-monthly injection were common. Providers identified health system barriers to the prospective scale-up of LAI-ART which include the perceived high cost of LAI-ART, stringent cold chain requirements, physical space limitations, and workforce skills gaps in LAI-ART delivery as potential drawbacks. Conclusion: Overall, PWH strongly preferred LAI-ART and expressed a comparatively higher satisfaction with this treatment alternative. Health system barriers to potential scale-up are essential to consider if a broader population of PWH will benefit from this novel HIV treatment option in Uganda and other resource-limited settings. AbstractThis article revisits the politics of naming and investigates the origins of the term ‘Moscow Actionism’. Why was the term introduced in curatorial literature published around 1995 in Western Europe? Why was it coined to present performances by Anatolii Osmolovskii, Aleksandr Brener and Oleg Kulik, if these artists had already made names for themselves in Russia? Touted by the Moscow press as ‘revolutionaries’, they were already invited to participate in exhibitions abroad. Their success came prior to the term ‘Moscow Actionism’.The author argues that the term was coined to counteract persistent Western stereotypes about Russia as wild, primitive and exotic. The coinage mimicked Western art history nomenclature in an attempt to secure a positive reception for Russian artists, yet it simultaneously succumbed to the hegemony of the Western art history lexicon. Background Purpose Methods Results Conclusion Adaptive radiotherapy (ART) workflows have been increasingly adopted to achieve dose escalation and tissue sparing under shifting anatomic conditions, but the necessity of recontouring and the associated time burden hinders a real‐time or online ART workflow. In response to this challenge, approaches to auto‐segmentation involving deformable image registration, atlas‐based segmentation, and deep learning‐based segmentation (DLS) have been developed. Despite the particular promise shown by DLS methods, implementing these approaches in a clinical setting remains a challenge, namely due to the difficulty of curating a data set of sufficient size and quality so as to achieve generalizability in a trained model.To address this challenge, we have developed an intentional deep overfit learning (IDOL) framework tailored to the auto‐segmentation task. However, certain limitations were identified, particularly the insufficiency of the personalized dataset to effectively overfit the model. In this study, we introduce a personalized hyperspace learning (PHL)‐IDOL segmentation framework capable of generating datasets that induce the model to overfit specific patient characteristics for medical image segmentation.The PHL‐IDOL model is trained in two stages. In the first, a conventional, general model is trained with a diverse set of patient data (n = 100 patients) consisting of CT images and clinical contours. Following this, the general model is tuned with a data set consisting of two components: (a) selection of a subset of the patient data (m < n) using the similarity metrics (mean square error (MSE), peak signal‐to‐noise ratio (PSNR), structural similarity index (SSIM), and the universal quality image index (UQI) values); (b) adjust the CT and the clinical contours using a deformed vector generated from the reference patient and the selected patients using (a). After training, the general model, the continual model, the conventional IDOL model, and the proposed PHL‐IDOL model were evaluated using the volumetric dice similarity coefficient (VDSC) and the Hausdorff distance 95% (HD95%) computed for 18 structures in 20 test patients.Implementing the PHL‐IDOL framework resulted in improved segmentation performance for each patient. The Dice scores increased from 0.81±$ \pm $0.05 with the general model, 0.83±0.04$ \pm 0.04$ for the continual model, 0.83±0.04$ \pm 0.04$ for the conventional IDOL model to an average of 0.87±0.03$ \pm 0.03$ with the PHL‐IDOL model. Similarly, the Hausdorff distance decreased from 3.06±0.99$ \pm 0.99$ with the general model, 2.84±0.69$ \pm 0.69$ for the continual model, 2.79±0.79$ \pm 0.79$ for the conventional IDOL model and 2.36±0.52$ \pm 0.52$ for the PHL‐IDOL model. All the standard deviations were decreased by nearly half of the values comparing the general model and the PHL‐IDOL model.The PHL‐IDOL framework applied to the auto‐segmentation task achieves improved performance compared to the general DLS approach, demonstrating the promise of leveraging patient‐specific prior information in a task central to online ART workflows. AbstractWhy are the objects we place on our bodies not considered art? In this paper, I argue that distance between an object and the body is a criterion for a craft object to become an art object. Art objects are kept at a distance from most bodies. The distance is tightly maintained by the art world and used within the art world to control art and access to it. In the process, this distance defines an object as art. I present the case of jewelry – objects that do not transition from craft to art and are generally not accepted as art by the art world. I argue that this is because jewelry necessarily requires closeness between the body and the object, a violation of the rules of art. In picture books, readers can obtain different emotional perceptions according to different image style attributes. Artists often use different combinations of colours, textures, materials, and other style elements in images to convey different emotions in their creations. Especially in picture books for children, there is a strong correlation between the perceived effect of the work and the accuracy and degree of emotional expression. In the process of creating picture books, various factors will affect the efficiency of artists trying to transfer styles to meet their creative needs. With the development of image style transfer technology based on a deep convolutional neural network, artists can use this technology to create works with different styles of emotional changes efficiently. In this paper, we select illustrations of picture books and use deep convolutional neural networks to transfer image styles from three aspects: colour style transfer, texture style, and material style transfer. Through sampling survey experiments, we discuss the changes in image attributes, emotional expression, and emotional perception in picture books for children. The survey results found that the most direct and evident influence on the emotional changes of picture book images is the transfer of colour style attributes, material style attributes, and texture style attributes. The results of this study can provide a valuable reference for improving the accuracy of emotional expression, the depth of meaning extension, and the height of artistic value in picture books for children during the process of an artist's creation. This research stands out by systematically analysing the distinct impact of each style attribute transfer, offering a comprehensive framework that can be utilized by artists and technologists alike to enhance the emotional and artistic quality of children's picture books. Introduction Methods Results Conclusion The British HIV Association (BHIVA) guidelines were amended during the coronavirus (COVID‐19) pandemic, allowing for less frequent monitoring of routine bloods. We assessed the impact of this on patient outcomes.Between April 2020 and March 2021, routine blood appointments at our HIV clinic were replaced by virtual consultations in ‘stable’ people living with HIV (PLWH), defined using standard operating procedure (SOP) criteria. All had an undetectable HIV viral load (VL) (<50 copies/mL). Demographic, HIV clinical information, and antiretroviral treatment (ART) data were collated using the electronic patient record (EPR). Blood results from before (baseline) and after (follow‐up) the omitted appointment were analysed for each parameter.In all, 791/2395 PLWH were scheduled to have blood tests omitted; 381 were excluded for reasons including not fitting the SOP criteria or presenting to clinic early, and 410 were included in analysis. The demographics of the group were consistent with our whole HIV cohort. HIV VL became detectable in 8/410 individuals (1.95%, range 51–730 copies/mL). VL resuppressed in 6/8 after a median of 29 days. VL remained detectable in two individuals, both of whom remain in care. Routine blood monitoring revealed baseline and follow‐up blood parameters that were largely within normal range. Four out of 12 parameters had statistically significant changes but were not considered clinically significant; 59/410 (14.4%) changed ART, most commonly for simplification.For the majority of stable PLWH included in our evaluation, the omission of routine blood monitoring during the pandemic did not have a negative impact on HIV suppression or blood monitoring outcomes. Background: Universal antiretroviral therapy (ART) has led to improved treatment outcomes in persons living with HIV. Adherence to ART is required to achieve viral suppression. Real-time medication monitoring (RTMM)-based digital adherence tools (DATs) could be effective in improving ART adherence and viral suppression in persons living with HIV. Objectives: The primary and secondary objectives of this review were to assess the effect of RTMM-based DATs on improving ART adherence and viral load suppression. Methods: We searched MEDLINE, Embase, and Global Health for publications published through October 11, 2022. Narrative synthesis and random effects meta-analyses were conducted to synthesize the results. Results: Of 638 papers identified, 8 were included. Six studies were randomized controlled trials (RCTs), and 2 were cohort studies. Two studies, an RCT in China (mean adherence: 96.2% vs 89.1%) and a crossover cohort study in Uganda (mean adherence: 84% vs 93%), demonstrated improved ART adherence. No studies demonstrated improved viral suppression. In the meta-analyses, we estimated that RTMM-based digital adherence tools had a statistically insignificant small positive effect on ART adherence and viral suppression with a standardized mean difference of 0.1922 [95% CI: 20.0268 to 0.4112, P-value: 0.0854] and viral suppression with an odds ratio of 1.3148 [95% CI: 0.9199 to 1.8791, P-value: 0.1331]. Conclusions: Our meta-analyses found that RTMM-based DATs did not have a significant effect on ART adherence and viral suppression. However, due to few published studies available, heterogeneity of target populations, intervention designs, and adherence measurement instruments, more data are required to provide conclusive evidence. This article examines Judd’s Specific Objects in light of Cézanne’s paintings and suggests that the two artists share a conception of the relation between objects and space. I argue that, much like Cézanne, Judd saw objects and space as related elements that constantly define each other. Cézanne and Judd are prominent figures who represent two distinct positions in the history of Western art. I consider these positions in relation to the topic of artistic autonomy and suggest that, even though theoreticians have framed Judd’s work in opposition to the modernist concept of the autonomous work of art—the American founding figure of Minimalism has something in common with the French ‘Father of Modern Art’. The proposed phenomenological analysis of works by Judd and Cézanne moves beyond period-based and medium-oriented interpretations and differs from much art-historical discourse, to suggest an additional perspective on their works. Weight gain effects of Nucleoside/Nucleotide Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors in people with HIV (PWH) have been sparsely studied.Participants were enrolled in the Copenhagen Comorbidity in HIV Infection (COCOMO) study. PWH receiving a backbone of emtricitabine, or lamivudine combined with abacavir, tenofovir disoproxil, or tenofovir alafenamide were analysed. Weight gain according to ART backbone and to the third drug was analysed using a multiple linear regression model. Non-ART risk factors were also determined using multiple linear regression.A total of 591 participants were included in the analysis. The majority were middle-aged, virally suppressed males with a mean BMI just above the normal range. Both tenofovir disoproxil/emtricitabine or lamivudine and abacavir /emtricitabine or lamivudine, but not tenofovir alafenamide /emtricitabine or lamivudine were associated with weight gain over two years (0.6 kg, p = 0.025; 1.0 kg, p = 0.005). The third drugs associated with weight increase were non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTI) (p = 0.035), dolutegravir (p = 0.008) and atazanavir (p = 0.040). Non-ART risk factors for gaining weight were low or normal BMI, age <40 years, underweight, inactivity or highly active at baseline.Tenofovir disoproxil and abacavir-based ART regimens were associated with a small weight gain. The invisible gynaecological condition, Endometriosis, is mostly viewed from a distorted frame of reference and with a negative connotation, influenced by societal factors such as expectations of the female body, misperceptions of illness and the way in which women are visually represented. Although a life-altering condition, acknowledging its many complexities is what is sought in honest representation of such lived experiences, exposing the visible and invisible, emic and etic perspectives. This written exchange between visual arts and design researcher, Bruce Cadle and designer-illustrator Micaela Scholtz, lays bare the facts and critically analyses the motivation for and influences incipient in visual research that expresses the lived experience of Endometriosis. The intention is to dispel the myths surrounding expectations of the female body and the lived realities of enduring invisible illness. This paper addresses aspects of the politics of health and the social understanding thereof, whilst emphasising the visualisation of illness through visual narrative methods and the autoethnographic voice. Essential to this research is that the visualisations of Endometriosis juxtapose the perceived/lived reality dichotomy intent on provoking understanding, empathic connection and opportunity for broader conversations onward. Known for her black-and-white miniatures embedded with Arabic writing, Laure Ghorayeb is a fascinating if understudied figure of Beirut’s cultural modernism. Her work occupied a liminal position between French and Arabic and intersected literature and visual art. This article argues that it is precisely this marginality, manifested in Ghorayeb’s multifaceted cultural identity, that allowed her to move deftly across mediums, practices, languages, and genres, resulting in a uniquely inter-semiotic oeuvre. Close reading selections from her collections of poems, Noir … les bleus (Black … the Blues), 1960 and prose, Iklīl shawk ḥawla qadamayhi (A Crown of Thorns Around His Feet), 1965, in relation to her civil war drawings Témoignages (Testimonies), 1985, this article reveals an inter-semiotic exchange on the page. It offers an interdisciplinary rereading of the modern cultural history of Beirut, revealing an interplay between literature and visual art, which allowed Ghorayeb to maneuver between aesthetic experimentation and political engagement at a time when nationalist and ideological divisions were being sown. In this paper, we discuss the requirements and technical challenges within the EHEM project, Enhancement of Heritage Experiences: The Middle Ages, an ongoing research program for the acquisition, analysis, documentation, interpretation, digital restoration, and communication of medieval artistic heritage. The project involves multidisciplinary teams comprising art historians and visual computing experts. Despite the vast literature on digital 3D models in support of Cultural Heritage, the field is so rich and diverse that specific projects often imply distinct, unique requirements which often challenge the computational technologies and suggest new research opportunities. As good representatives of such diversity, we describe the three monuments that serve as test cases for the project, all of them with a rich history of architecture and paintings. We discuss the art historians' view of how digital models can support their research, the expertise and technological solutions adopted so far, as well as the technical challenges in multiple areas spanning geometry and appearance acquisition, color analysis and digital restitution, as well as the representation of the profound transformations due to the alterations suffered over the centuries. Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a pervasive, worldwide public health concern. Risk of IPV may elevate during the perinatal period, increasing maternal and fetal health risks. Trauma- and violence-informed care shows promise among interventions addressing associated mental health sequelae. As a secondary analysis, the purpose of this study was to employ a qualitative arts-based exploration to better understand pregnant women's experiences of trauma and violence-informed perinatal care in the context of IPV. Using an arts-based qualitative methodology, different art forms were used to analyze, interpret, and report data, resulting in a layered exploration to represent phenomena. From this, four themes were reflected in four poetic pieces: Black Deep Corners, Triggering my Thoughts, Breaking through the Brokenness, and Now Perfectly Imperfect. Community‐based arts have the potential to offer multiple benefits to people living with dementia; however, the level of uptake of these activities is unclear. This study sought to examine the perspectives of key stakeholders: the presenting artists and those who are responsible for planning art activities within the context of community to examine opportunities for and barriers to participation of people living with dementia in community‐based art activities. Inductive thematic analysis approach of Braun and Clarke (2006) was applied to identify, analyse, and report themes from the semistructured interviews with artists and art planners. Important factors to be taken into account when delivering community‐based art activities inclusive of people living with dementia arose under three major themes: perceptions and knowledge of dementia, the inherently inclusive qualities of arts, and practical approaches to delivery of the activity. Both artists and art planners felt that understanding motivations and expectations, effective communication, access, and support for both themselves and people with dementia were crucial factors to create and deliver dementia inclusive arts in the context of community. Both artists and art planners believed that community‐based art activities can be inclusive of people living with dementia. In the typically developing population, social touch experiences are influenced by several factors, including the biological sex of toucher and receiver, the body area wherein the touch is delivered and the social context in which the tactile exchange occurs. However, it is currently unexplored how social touch experiences of autistic adults are modulated by these factors. We sought to address this by utilizing a self-report body-painting task. Our main results show that autistic, compared with non-autistic, adults reported lower levels of pleasantness, erogeneity and appropriateness, specifically in intimate and friendly social contexts and in body areas typically touched in these situations. Importantly, sex played a major role in group differences. For instance, although autistic females reported, across social contexts, less pleasantness than both non-autistic females and autistic males, they experienced similar levels of appropriateness in the professional social context, usually deemed as touch-appropriate. Our findings provide new support to the hypothesis that social touch is experienced and possibly conceptualized differently by autistic compared with non-autistic adults. Moreover, by identifying the factors that influence social touch processing in autistic adults, our results might aid the development of support for autistic individuals seeking help in the spheres of social and intimate touch. What is already known about the topic? At least in neurotypical individuals, social touch represents an important channel for emotional communication associated with social bonding and pain/anxiety modulation. Autistic adults report to avoid social touch more and to have different tactile sensitivity than their non-autistic comparisons. What this paper adds? Few studies specifically investigated social touch in autistic individuals, and none of them examined the role of participants' sex, social context in which social touch occurs, and specific body areas being touched. In our study, adult participants reported how pleasant, erogenous and appropriate they would consider touches delivered by another person over their entire body in intimate (date), friendly (dance class) and professional (physiotherapy-massage session) social contexts. Autistic adults reported social touch to be less pleasant, erogenous and appropriate specifically in intimate and friendly social contexts and in body areas typically touched in these situations. Importantly, autistic females seem more at risk to experience unpleasant social touch as, although they considered it more unpleasant than non-autistic females and autistic males, they did consider it similarly appropriate in professional social contexts where touch is normed to be socially appropriate. Implications for practice, research or policy Our results might improve awareness and understanding about autistic adults' different, and often more discomforting, experience of social touch and thus help consider and respect it during everyday social interactions. Our results might also benefit future research investigating, for instance, the neural underpinnings of social touch differences in autism or aiming at developing support for autistic individuals seeking help in the diverse spheres of social touch. Physicians and healthcare professionals are tasked with prioritizing their own self-care while also caring for patients and their complex needs within a broken healthcare system. The identity formation they experience can be directly impacted by changes in professional and personal contexts. This article examines the power of a visual work of art to create opportunities for self-reflection, expression, and vulnerability through established constructs of the "third thing in medical education" and museum-based educational approaches such as the Personal Response Tour. I then apply Marcus Bussey's framework of the 'future senses' and anticipatory aesthetics to surrealist painter René Magritte's 1966 work Decalcomania. With the added lens of personal narrative juxtaposed with Magritte's visual work, the article delves into the power of anticipatory aesthetics and the future senses as a way to envision new futures and a path forward in the midst of professional identity questioning.
