Das Buch Schlacht um Europas Gasmarkt bietet einen Einblick in die geopolitischen und wirtschaftlichen Hintergründe und die Motivation von Weltmächten. Europa ist Spielplatz verschiedener Weltkräfte, die um die Gaslieferungen nach Europa kämpfen. In erster Linie sind die wirtschaftlichen Aspekte dieser Bestrebungen analysiert. Eine wichtige Rolle spielen der Bedarf mit der Berücksichtigung der vorhandenen europäischen Energieprogramme sowie Umwelt- und Klimabeschlüsse, die allgemein verständlich dargelegt sind. Außerdem sind die Regel- und Gasvorräte der Gas anbietenden Lieferanten erklärt. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden auch politische Auseinandersetzungen ausgewertet.

Im vorliegenden Buch werden gasmotorisch angetriebene Wärmepumpen als Wärme- bzw. Kälteerzeuger für den öffentlichen Bereich betrachtet. Der Gebäudebestand in Mitteldeutschland wird analysiert und bewertet, wobei Recherchen zu den Vorschriften und Förderprogrammen der einzelnen Länder mit einbezogen werden. Für die betrachteten Gebäude werden Wärme- und Kühlbedarfscharakteristika pragmatisch erhoben. Zu den gasmotorisch angetriebenen Wärmepumpen wird der Aufbau des Systems, die Funktionsweise und eine Energiebilanzierung für den Heiz- und Kühlbetrieb detailliert betrachtet. Außerdem wird die hydraulische Einbindung der gasmotorisch betriebenen Wärmepumpe aufgezeigt und erläutert. Für die Systemvarianten wird die Wirtschaftlichkeit in Anlehnung an VDI 2067 und Umweltaspekte betrachtet. Zur Umsetzung der gewonnen Erkenntnisse wird ein Excel-Werkzeug entwickelt, um eine zeitnahe Bereitstellung von Entscheidungskriterien bereits in der Angebotsphase zu ermöglichen und auf diesem Wege eine Grundlage für zutreffende Entscheidungsfindungen zu schaffen. This book is an introduction to oil and gas designed to be both accessible to absolute beginners who know nothing about the subject, and at the same time interesting to people who work in one area (such as drilling or seismic exploration) and would like to know about other areas (such as production offshore, or how oil and gas were formed, or what can go wrong).It begins by discussing oil and gas in the broader context of human society, and goes on to examine what they consist of, how and where they were formed, how we find them, how we drill for them and how we measure them. It describes production onshore and offshore, and examines in detail some instructive mishaps, including some that are well known, such as Deepwater Horizon and Piper Alpha, and other lesser known incidents. It looks at recent developments, such as shale oil, and concludes with some speculation about the future. It includes many references for readers who would like to read further.
