Es werden umfangreiche Analyse- und Charakterisierungsmethoden wie Elektronenrückstreubeugung und energiedispersive Röntgenanalyse eingesetzt, um mögliche Einflussgrößen, die die Eigenschaften der hergestellten Halbzeuge bestimmen, zu identifizieren. Untersuchungen der Leistungsfähigkeit, quasistatisch wie zyklisch, dienen der Bewertung der Einsetzbarkeit dieser Halbzeuge auf Grundlage der ermittelten Verbindungsmechanismen. Darüber hinaus finden elektrische Widerstandsmessungen Anwendung, um Mikrostruktur- und Defektcharakteristika zu ermitteln und auftretende Struktur- und Verbindungsmechanismen zu separieren. Auf Basis der Bestimmung einzelner Anteile ver- und entfestigender Mechanismen wird ein Modell entwickelt, das die Leistungsfähigkeit auf Basis struktur- und defektbezogener Charakteristika vorhersagen kann. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Energie- und Ressourceneffizienz von Aluminium und seinen Legierungen durch innovative Recyclingverfahren verbessert wird und bieten eine umfangreiche Aufklärung der grundlegenden Mechanismen und der Leistungsfähigkeit der spanbasierenden Halbzeuge. Dadurch wird die Nutzung dieser Bauteile in Anwendungen der Automobil- und Luftfahrtindustrie gefördert.

In the evolving market of product design, the optimization of surface patterns is a crucial factor in determining the functionality of future products. However, despite numerous surface designs introduced in recent years, the field remains significantly underdeveloped. The absence of systematic and well-defined methodologies for generating deterministic topologies has turned the design of surfaces into more of an art than a precise science. This book highlights the promising photocatalytic methods for synthesizing organic chemicals by simultaneously degrading the toxicity of raw substances used for organic synthesis. It presents various semiconducting materials with high catalytic activities in hydrogen evolution reactions (HERs) and hydrogenation reactions, as well as the material characterizations for identifying semiconductor photocatalysts. The focus is on understanding the hydrogen dissociation and activation of substances in the process of hydrogenation and the fabrication of nanostructured catalysts with desired activity and selectivity. Recent works show photocatalytic hydrogenation reactions with in situ generated H+ on catalyst surfaces utilizing initial chemicals such as nitrophenol, nitrobenzene, azobenzene, and benzene for valorization. In addition, the photocatalytic valorization of waste glycerol is also discussed. Besides the hydrogenation reactions, the reduction of oxygen to form H2O2 can be done with aphotocatalytic method in atmospheric conditions.
