Der in diesem Buch vorgestellte Ansatz -'Together We Are Strong'bzw. T-WAS - ist eine Form der präventiven Gruppenarbeit mit benachteiligten Kindern zur Stärkung ihrer Resilienz. Die Methoden beruhen primär auf der Entwicklung von Objektbeziehungen, indem die Kinder in fortlaufenden kreativen Spielen neue Erfahrungen mit sich selbst im Verhältnis zu anderen machen. Dabei werden kreative Spiele, wie sie im pädagogischen Bereich üblich und auf Teamarbeit ausgerichtet sind, mit therapeutischen Elementen aus der Gestalttherapie und der ontologischen Psychoanalyse ergänzt, um die Dimensionen der Ich-Stärkung und der Aggressionsbewältigung zu erarbeiten. This book aims at shifting the emphasis from a general vision of gender-based violence to a more opaque, yet equally destructive one, that related to'proximity violence'.The first type of violence is exercised in multiple situations and in the generality of relationships experienced by people involving others who are both strangers to and intimate with each other. Proximity violence provides and includes a fiduciary kind of'proximity', of'dependent intimacy', where the trust that the victim places in the other (her tormentor) favours the exercise of violence itself, allowing it to take place, thus making it practically imperceptible when not actually normal, in extreme cases.In turn, this confidence is comparable to'a veil of Maja'which, in conditions of vulnerability typical of victims, attenuates the consequences of the violence undergone or the omens of what becomes violent action.The conceptual triad: proximity violence, vulnerability, resistance-resilience is explored here, in the three main chapters and in the details aimed at identifying, in the final chapter, the mutual interconnections. Originally published in 1981, this volume presents the domain of personality as a fuzzy set that includes features previously identified with cognitive and social psychology. Few of the individual contributions are centrally concerned with individual differences and cross-situational stability, but these traditional themes certainly appear in several of the chapters. The remaining chapters deal with the general processes mediating the interaction between the person and the social environment, filling out the fuzzy set of personality psychology.Part 1 seeks to locate contemporary trends in the cognitive psychology of personality against a backdrop of historical events. The chapters in Part 2 discuss some of the cognitive processes mediating social behaviour. Part 3 contains contributions concerned with the rules by which people make judgments about objects in the social world. The self, a dominant topic in personality theory and research, is treated extensively in Part 4. Although many of the chapters are explicitly concerned with the relations between cognition and action – after all, most human interaction takes the form of judgments and communication – the contributions in Part 5 make the links to overt behaviour.
