Ce Guide clinique regroupe en un seul volume entièrement revu et mis à jour, l'ouvrage classique paru en 1993 en deux tomes, réactualisés à l'occasion des rééditions de 2000 et de 2004-2005. Pour cette nouvelle édition, le livre étrenne le nouveau format, agrandi, et la nouvelle maquette, repensée, de la collection. Le schéma de présentation reprend les stades d'élaboration (clinique et laboratoire) d'une prothèse amovible totale bimaxillaire, en suivant les étapes chronologiques de clinique et de laboratoire de réalisation. Toutes les séances et étapes, comme la séance d'enregistrement du rapport intermaxillaire sont décrites pas à pas, proposant une méthode simple et pratique. Sont également abordés : - les empreintes ; - le choix des dents artificielles, les grands principes du montage esthétique, le montage fonctionnel ; - l'occlusion en prothèse complète, l'essai fonctionnel, la mise en bouche ainsi que les équilibrations et réglages immédiats et médiats. Le quatorzième chapitre abondamment illustré et remanié concerne les doléances de l'édenté total appareillé, présentées dans la chronologie de leur apparition et de leur importance avec leurs solutions. Ce chapitre aborde en le développant, la démarche des rebasages et réfections des bases prothétiques. Un dernier chapitre s'imposait devant l'apparition des implants et leur implication dans le traitement des édentements complets. La remise à jour d'un titre qui s'est imposé comme un classique, faisant le point des connaissances et des techniques de mise en œuvre de la prothèse amovible complète.
