The seventh volume of the Recent Advances in Obstetrics and Gynecology has now finally assumed shape in spite of considerable difficulty and non-receipt of some of the contributors'chapters. These chapters have been up-to-date as far as scientific standard is concerned. The whole text has been divided into three sections, namely obstetrics, gynecology and new research frontiers. The first section consists of misoprostol in obstetrics, pregnancies following reconstructive surgery for congenital cervico-vaginal atresia, recent trend in the management of pregnant diabetic, management of breech presentation—current thoughts, thyroid disease in pregnancy, etc. The second section deals prophylactic oophorectomy: prevention of ovarian cancer, hormone replacement therapy: changing trends, ART-recent evaluation–risks and benefits, etc. The third section comprises of changing generations of shock resuscitation and malaria vaccines. Postgraduates and professional colleagues would find plenty of material to be of use in their day-to-day clinical practice.
