This book constitutes the proceedings of the International Joint Conference on Theoretical Computer Science-Frontier of Algorithmic Wisdom (IJTCS-FAW 2022), for the 16th International Conference on Frontier of Algorithmic Wisdom (FAW) and the third International Joint Conference on Theoretical Computer Science (IJTCS), held in Hong Kong, China, in August 15-19 2022.FAW started as the Frontiers of Algorithmic Workshop in 2007 at Lanzhou, China, and was held annually from 2007 to 2021 and published archival proceedings. IJTCS, the International joint theoretical Computer Science Conference, started in 2020, aimed to bring in presentations covering active topics in selected tracks in theoretical computer science.To accommodate the diversified new research directions in theoretical computer science, FAW and IJTCS joined their forces together to organize an event for information exchange of new findings and work of enduring value in the field. In addition to four keynote speakers, 26 invited speakers and 19 contributed speakers, IJTCS-FAW2022 organized Forums for undergraduate research, young PhD graduates, young TCS faculty members, female researchers, as well as a forum in Conscious AI and a CSIAM Forum in blockchain.The 19 full papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 25 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: Algorithmic Game Theory; Game Theory in Block Chain; Frontiers of Algorithmic Wisdom; Computational and Network Economics.

The Fifth Workshop on Approximation and Online Algorithms (WAOA 2007) focused on the design and analysis of algorithms for online and computationally hard problems. Both kinds of problems have a large number of applications from a variety of?elds. WAOA 2007 took place in Eilat, Israel, during October 11–12, 2007. The workshop was part of the ALGO 2007 event that also hosted ESA 2007, and PEGG 2007. The previous WAOA workshops were held in Budapest (2003), Rome (2004), Palma de Mallorca (2005) and Zurich (2006). The proceedings of these previous WAOA workshops have appeared as LNCS volumes 2909, 3351, 3879 and 4368, respectively. Topics of interest for WAOA 2007 were: algorithmic game theory, appro- mation classes, coloring and partitioning, competitive analysis, computational?nance, cuts and connectivity, geometric problems, inapproximability results, mechanism design, network design, packing and covering, paradigms for design and analysis of approximation and online algorithms, randomization techniques, real-world applications, and scheduling problems. In response to the call for - pers, we received 56 submissions. Each submission was reviewed by at least three referees, and the vast majority by at least four referees. The submissions were mainly judged on originality, technical quality, and relevance to the topics of the conference. Based on the reviews, the Program Committee selected 22 papers. We are grateful to Andrei Voronkov for providing the EasyChair conference system which was used to manage the electronic submissions, the review process, and the electronic PC meeting. It made our task much easier.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the 4th International Workshop on Approximation and Online Algorithms, WAOA 2006, held in Zurich, Switzerland in September 2006 as part of the ALGO 2006 conference event. The 26 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 62 submissions.

The two-volume set LNCS 10627 and 10628 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Combinatorial Optimization and Applications, COCOA 2017, held in Shanghai, China, in December 2017. The 59 full papers and 19 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 145 submissions. The papers cover most aspects of theoretical computer science and combinatorics related to computing, including classic combinatorial optimization, geometric optimization, complexity and data structures, and graph theory. They are organized in topical sections on network, approximation algorithm and graph theory, combinatorial optimization, game theory, and applications.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Mathematical Software, ICMS 2014, held in Seoul, South Korea, in August 2014. The 108 papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 150 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections named: invited; exploration; group; coding; topology; algebraic; geometry; surfaces; reasoning; special; Groebner; triangular; parametric; interfaces and general.

The Workshop on Experimental Algorithms, WEA, is intended to be an int- national forum for research on the experimental evaluation and engineering of algorithms, as well as in various aspects of computational optimization and its applications. The emphasis of the workshop is the use of experimental me- ods to guide the design, analysis, implementation, and evaluation of algorithms, heuristics, and optimization programs. WEA 2008 was held at the Provincetown Inn, Provincetown, MA, USA, on May 30 – June 1, 2008. This was the seventh workshop of the series, after Rome (2007),Menorca(2006),Santorini(2005),RiodeJaniero(2004),Asconia(2003), and Riga (2001). This volume contains all contributed papers accepted for presentation at the workshop. The 26 contributed papers were selected by the Program Committee onthebasisofatleastthreerefereereports,somecontributedbytrustedexternal referees. In addition to the 26 contributed papers, the program contained two invited talks. Camil Demetrescu, of the University of Rome “La Sapienza,” spoke on “Visualization in Algorithm Engineering.” David S. Johnson of AT & T Labs – Research, gave a talk on “Bin Packing: From Theory to Experiment and Back Again.” We would like to thank the authors who responded to the call for papers, our invited speakers, the members of the ProgramCommittee, the external referees, and the Organizing Committee members for making this workshop possible.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 14th Annual European Symposium on Algorithms, ESA 2006, held in Zurich, Switzerland, in the context of the combined conference ALGO 2006. The book presents 70 revised full papers together with abstracts of 3 invited lectures. The papers address all current subjects in algorithmics, reaching from design and analysis issues of algorithms over to real-world applications and engineering of algorithms in various fields.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 15th International Workshop on Frontiers in Algorithmics, FAW 2021, held in conjunction with second International Joint Conference on Theoretical Computer Science (IJTCS 2021), as IJTCS-FAW 2021, in Beijing, China, in August 2021. The conference IJTCS-FAW 2021 was held in hybrid mode due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 5 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 9 submissions. The joint conference provides a focused forum on Algorithmic Game Theory, Blockchain, Multi-agent Reinforcement Learning, Quantum Computation, Theory of Machine Learning, Machine Learning, Formal Method, Algorithm and Complexity, and EconCS.

This volume contains the papers selected for presentation at IPCO 2002, the NinthInternationalConferenceonIntegerProgrammingandCombinatorial- timization, Cambridge, MA (USA), May 27–29, 2002. The IPCO series of c- ferences highlights recent developments in theory, computation, and application of integer programming and combinatorial optimization. IPCO was established in 1988 when the?rst IPCO program committee was formed. IPCO is held every year in which no International Symposium on Ma- ematical Programming (ISMP) takes places. The ISMP is triennial, so IPCO conferences are held twice in every three-year period. The eight previous IPCO conferences were held in Waterloo (Canada) 1990, Pittsburgh (USA) 1992, Erice (Italy) 1993, Copenhagen (Denmark) 1995, Vancouver (Canada) 1996, Houston (USA) 1998, Graz (Austria) 1999, and Utrecht (The Netherlands) 2001. In response to the call for papers for IPCO 2002, the program committee received 110 submissions, a record number for IPCO. The program committee met on January 7 and 8, 2002, in Aussois (France), and selected 33 papers for inclusion in the scienti?c program of IPCO 2002. The selection was based on originality and quality, and re?ects many of the current directions in integer programming and combinatorial optimization research.

This volume contains the papers presented at the 5th International Workshop on Advanced Parallel Processing Technologies, APPT 2003. This series of workshops is designed to strengthen the cooperation between the German and Chinese institutions active in the area of these technologies. It has continued to grow, providing an excellent forum for reporting advances in parallel processing technologies. The 5th workshop itself addressed the entire gamut of related topics, ranging from the architectural aspects of parallel computer hardware and system software to the applied technologies for novel applications. For this workshop, we received over 191 full submissions from researchers all over the world. All the papers were peer-reviewed in depth and qualitatively graded on their relevance, originality, signi?cance, presentation, and the overall appropriateness for their acceptance. Any concerns raised were discussed in the program committee. The organizing committee did an excellent job in selecting 78 papers (Among them, 21 were short ones) for presentation. In short, the papers included here represent the forefront of research from China, Germany, and the other countries.

The book presents 44 carefully reviewed and revised full papers. This book constitutes the joint refereed proceedings of the 6th International Workshop on Approximation Algorithms for Optimization Problems, APPROX 2003 and of the 7th International Workshop on Randomization and Approximation Techniques in Computer Science, RANDOM 2003, held in Princeton, NY, USA in August 2003. The 33 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 74 submissions. Among the issues addressed are design and analysis of randomized and approximation algorithms, online algorithms, complexity theory, combinatorial structures, error-correcting codes, pseudorandomness, derandomization, network algorithms, random walks, Markov chains, probabilistic proof systems, computational learning, randomness in cryptography, and various applications.

We are currently witnessing a proliferation in parallel and distributed processing technologies and applications. However, more new technologies have ushered in unprecented challenges to the research community across the range of high-performance computing, multi-core microprocessor architecture, networks and pervasive computing, as well as new paradigm computing issues. APPT 2007 was sponsored by the China Computer Federation, in cooperation with TCPP of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The highly positive responses to the previous APPT workshops encouraged us to continue this international event. This year, APPT was upgraded to the International Symposium on Advanced Parallel Processing Technologies. However, it kept its traditional flavor by sharing of the underlying theories and applications, and the establishment of new and long-term collaborative channels. And it will continue to provide a forum for researchers, professionals, and industrial practitioners from around the world to report on new advances in high-performance architecture and software, as well as to identify issues and directions for research and development in the new era of evolving technologies. The success of APPT 2007 was a result of the hard work and planning of a large group of renowned researchers from around the world, who served on the Technical Program Committee and the Organizing Committee. Their invaluable efforts in developing this technical program are most gratefully acknowledged. In particular, we would like to thank the Program Co-chairs, Xin Chen, Xuejun Yang, and Albert Y.
