This book constitutes the proceedings of the Second OpenSHMEM Workshop, held in Annapolis, MD, USA, in August 2015. The 12 technical papers and one short position papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 17 submissions. It is our great pleasure to present the proceedings of the second Russia–Taiwan Symposium on Methods and Tools of Parallel Programming (MTPP 2010). MTPP is the main regular event of the Russia–Taiwan scientific forum that covers the many dimensions of methods and tools of parallel programming, algorithms and architectures, encompassing fundamental theoretical approaches, practical experimental projects, and commercial components and systems. As applications of computing systems have permeated every aspect of daily life, the power of computing systems has become increasingly critical. Therefore, MTPP is intended to play an important role allowing researchers to exchange information regarding advancements in the state of the art and practice of IT-driven services and applications, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future directions of parallel computing. We received a large number of high-quality submissions this year. In the first stage, all papers submitted were screened for their relevance and general submission requirements. These manuscripts then underwent a rigorous peer-review process with at least three reviewers per paper. At the end, 33 papers were accepted for presentation and included in the main proceedings. To encourage and promote the work presented at MTPP 2010, we are delighted to inform the authors that some of the papers will be accepted in special issues of the Journal of Supercomputing, which has played a prominent role in promoting the development and use of parallel and distributed processing.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the Third International Symposium on Applications of Graph Transformations, AGTIVE 2007, held in Kassel, Germany, in October 2007. The 30 revised full papers presented together with 2 invited papers were carefully selected from numerous submissions during two rounds of reviewing and improvement. The papers are organized in topical sections on graph transformation applications, meta-modeling and domain-specific language, new graph transformation approaches, program transformation applications, dynamic system modeling, model driven software development applications, queries, views, and model transformations, as well as new pattern matching and rewriting concepts. This Festschrift volume is published in honor of Professor Paul G. Spirakis on the occasion of his 60th birthday. It celebrates his significant contributions to computer science as an eminent, talented, and influential researcher and most visionary thought leader, with a great talent in inspiring and guiding young researchers. The book is a reflection of his main research activities in the fields of algorithms, probability, networks, and games, and contains a biographical sketch as well as essays and research contributions from close collaborators and former PhD students.

The Evolution Arti?cielle cycle of conferences was originally initiated as a forum for the French-speaking evolutionary computation community. Previous EA m- tings were held in Toulouse (EA'94), Brest (EA'95, LNCS 1063), Nˆ?mes (EA'97, LNCS 1363), Dunkerque (EA'99, LNCS 1829), and?nally, EA 2001 was hosted by the Universit´e de Bourgogne in the small town of Le Creusot, in an area of France renowned for its excellent wines. However, the EA conferences have been receiving more and more papers from the international community: this conference can be considered fully internat- nal, with 39submissions from non-francophonic countries on all?ve continents, out of a total of 68. Out of these 68 papers, only 28 were presented orally (41%) due to the formula of the conference (single session with presentations of 30 minutes) that all participants seem to appreciate a lot. The Organizing Committee wishes to thank the members of the International Program Committee for their hard work (mainly due to the large number of submissions) and for the service they rendered to the community by ensuring the high scienti?c content of the papers presented. Actually, the overall quality of the papers presented was very high and all 28 presentations are included in this volume, grouped in 8 sections which more or less re?ect the organization of the oral session: 1. Invited Paper: P. Bentley gave a great talk on his classi?cation of int- disciplinary collaborations, and showed us some of his work with musicians and biologists.
