This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed conference proceedings of the 4th International Conference on E-Voting and Identity, Vote ID 2013, held in Guildford, UK, during July 17-19, 2013. The 12 revised full papers presented were carefully selected from 26 submissions. The papers include a range of works on end-to-end verifiable election systems, verifiably correct complex tallying algorithms, human perceptions of verifiability, formal models of verifiability and, of course, attacks on systems formerly advertised as verifiable.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 21st European Symposium on Programming, ESOP 2012, held in Tallinn, Estonia, as part of ETAPS 2012, in March/April 2012. The 28 full papers, presented together with one full length invited talk, were carefully reviewed and selected from 92 submissions. Papers were invited on all aspects of programming language research, including: programming paradigms and styles, methods and tools to write and specify programs and languages, methods and tools for reasoning about programs, methods and tools for implementation, and concurrency and distribution.

The three-volume set IFIP AICT 368-370 constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the 5th IFIP TC 5, SIG 5.1 International Conference on Computer and Computing Technologies in Agriculture, CCTA 2011, held in Beijing, China, in October 2011. The 189 revised papers presented were carefully selected from numerous submissions. This volume collects the papers accepted for presentation at the 12th Int- national Conference on “Advanced Concepts for Intelligent Vision Systems” (ACIVS 2010). Following the?rst meeting in Baden-Baden (Germany) in 1999, whichwaspartofalargemulticonference,theACIVSconferencethendeveloped into an independent scienti?c event and has ever since maintained the tradition of being a single track conference. ACIVS 2010 attracted computer scientists from 29 di?erent countries, mostly from Europe, Australia, and the USA, but also from Asia. Although ACIVS is a conference on all areas of image and video processing, submissions tend to gather within certain major?elds of interest. This year 3D and depth processing and computer vision and surveillance were popular topics. Noteworthy are the growing number of papers related to theoretical devel- ments. We would like to thank the invited speakers Mubarak Shah (University of Central Florida), Richard Kleihorst (VITO, Belgium), Richard Hartley (A- tralian National University), and David Suter (Adelaide University) for their valuable contributions.

Managing uncertainty and inconsistency has been extensively explored in - ti?cial Intelligence over a number of years. Now with the advent of massive amounts of data and knowledge from distributed heterogeneous,and potentially con?icting, sources, there is interest in developing and applying formalisms for uncertainty andinconsistency widelyin systems that need to better managethis data and knowledge. The annual International Conference on Scalable Uncertainty Management (SUM) has grown out of this wide-ranging interest in managing uncertainty and inconsistency in databases, the Web, the Semantic Web, and AI. It aims at bringing together all those interested in the management of large volumes of uncertainty and inconsistency, irrespective of whether they are in databases,the Web, the Semantic Web, or in AI, as well as in other areas such as information retrieval, risk analysis, and computer vision, where signi?cant computational - forts are needed. After a promising First International Conference on Scalable Uncertainty Management was held in Washington DC, USA in 2007, the c- ference series has been successfully held in Napoli, Italy, in 2008, and again in Washington DC, USA, in 2009.

Welcome to the proceedings of the 2010 International Conferences on Grid and D- tributed Computing (GDC 2010), and Control and Automation (CA 2010) – two of the partnering events of the Second International Mega-Conference on Future Gene- tion Information Technology (FGIT 2010). GDC and CA bring together researchers from academia and industry as well as practitioners to share ideas, problems and solutions relating to the multifaceted - pects of high-performance and compound control systems, including their links to computational sciences, mathematics and information technology. In total, 1,630 papers were submitted to FGIT 2010 from 30 countries, which - cludes 198 papers submitted to GDC/CA 2010. The submitted papers went through a rigorous reviewing process: 395 of the 1,630 papers were accepted for FGIT 2010, while 40 papers were accepted for GDC/CA 2010. Of the 40 papers, 8 were selected for the special FGIT 2010 volume published by Springer in LNCS the series. 28 papers are published in this volume, and 4 papers were withdrawn due to technical reasons. We would like to acknowledge the great effort of the GDC/CA 2010 International Advisory Boards and members of the International Program Committees, as well as all the organizations and individuals who supported the idea of publishing this volume of proceedings, including SERSC and Springer.
