This two-volume set LNAI 14473-14474 constitutes revised selected papers presented at the Third CAAI International Conference, CICAI 2023, in Fuzhou, China, in July 2023. CICAI is a summit forum in the field of artificial intelligence and the 2023 forum was hosted by Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI). The 100 papers were thoroughly reviewed and selected from 376 submissions. CICAI 2023 conference covers a wide range of of AI generated content, computer vision, machine learning, nature language processing, application of AI, and data mining, amongst others.

A research project to investigate the design and construction of reliable computing systems was initiated by B. Randell at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1972. In over ten years of research on system reliability, a substantial number of papers have been produced by the members of this project. These papers have appeared in a variety of journals and conference proceedings and it is hoped that this book will prove to be a convenient reference volume for research workers active in this important area. In selecting papers published by past and present members of this project, I have used the following criteria: a paper is selected if it is concerned with fault tolerance and is not a review paper and was published before 1983. I have used these criteria (with only one or two exceptions!) in order to present a collection of papers with a common theme and, at the same time, to limit the size of the book to a reasonable length. The papers have been grouped into seven chapters. The first chapter introduces fundamental concepts of fault tolerance and ends with the earliest Newcastle paper on reliability. The project perhaps became well known after the invention of recovery blocks - a simple yet effective means of incorporating fault tolerance in software. The second chapter contains papers on recovery blocks, starting with the paper which first introduced the concept.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Testbeds and Research Infrastructures for the Development of Networks and Communities, TridentCom 2014, held in Guangzhou, China, in May 2014. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the Third International ICST Conference Mobile Lightweight Wireless Systems (MOBILIGHT 2011) held in Bilbao, Spain on May 9-10. 2011. In numbers, MOBILIGHT 2011 was organized as a 2-day single-track event with 18 technical presentations, and 3 specialized workshops focused on opportunistic sensing and processing in mobile wireless sensor and cellular networks (MOBISENSE), multimode wireless access networks (MOWAN) and strategic network planning applied to market regulation (NETSTRAT), totaling to 34 papers presented during the conference and included in the proceedings

Following the success of the First MOBILIGHT 2009 in Athens, Greece, the Second International Conference on Mobile Lightweight Systems (MOBILIGHT) was held in Barcelona, Spain on May 10-12, 2010. It was not an easy decision to carry on organizing a scientific event on wireless communications, where competition is really enormous. This decision was motivated by discussion with many colleagues about the current unprecedented demand for lig- weight, wireless communication devices with high usability and performance able to support added-value services in a highly mobile environment. Such devices follow the users everywhere they go (at work, at home, while travelling, in a classroom, etc.) and result in exciting research, development and business opportunities. Such scenarios clearly demand significant upgrades to the existing communication paradigm in terms of infrastructure, devices and services to support the “anytime, anywhere, any device” philosophy, providing novel and fast-evolving requirements and expectations on - search and development in the field of information and communication technologies. The core issue is to support wireless users'desire for 24/7 network availability and transparent access to'their own'services. In this context, we continue to envision an international forum where practitioners and researchers coming from the many areas involved in lightweight wireless systems'design and deployment would be able to interact and exchange experiences.
