This book constitutes the proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Mobile Services, AIMS 2021, held as a virtual conference as part of SCF 2021, during December 10-14, 2021.The 9 full presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 20 submissions. They cover topics in AI Modeling, AI Analysis, AI and Mobile Applications, AI Architecture, AI Management, AI Engineering, mobile backend as a service (MBaaS), user experience of AI and mobile services.

How the enabling technologies in 5G as an integral or as a part can seamlessly fuel the IoT revolution is still very challenging. This book presents the state-of-the-art solutions to the theoretical and practical challenges stemming from the integration of 5G enabling technologies into IoTs in support of a smart 5G-enabled IoT paradigm, in terms of network design, operation, management, optimization, privacy and security, and applications. In particular, the technical focus covers a comprehensive understanding of 5G-enabled IoT architectures, converged access networks, privacy and security, and emerging applications of 5G-eabled IoT.

The 4th FTRA International Conference on Computer Science and its Applications (CSA-12) will be held in Jeju, Korea on November 22~25, 2012. CSA-12 will be the most comprehensive conference focused on the various aspects of advances in computer science and its applications. CSA-12 will provide an opportunity for academic and industry professionals to discuss the latest issues and progress in the area of CSA. In addition, the conference will publish high quality papers which are closely related to the various theories and practical applications in CSA. Furthermore, we expect that the conference and its publications will be a trigger for further related research and technology improvements in this important subject. CSA-12 is the next event in a series of highly successful International Conference on Computer Science and its Applications, previously held as CSA-11 (3rd Edition: Jeju, December, 2011), CSA-09 (2nd Edition: Jeju, December, 2009), and CSA-08 (1st Edition: Australia, October, 2008).

Parallel and distributed computing in the 1980s and 1990s had great in?uence onapplication developmentin science, engineering andbusiness computing. The improvements in computation and communication capabilities have enabled the creation of demanding applications in critical domains such as the environment, health, aerospace, and other areas of science and technology. Similarly, new classesofapplicationsareenabledbytheavailabilityofheterogeneouslarge-scale distributed systems which are becoming available nowadays (based on techno- giessuchasgridandpeer-to-peersystems).Parallelcomputingsystemsexploita large diversity of computer architectures, from supercomputers, shared-memory or distributed-memory multi processors, to local networks and clusters of p- sonal computers. With the recent emergence of multi core architectures, parallel computing is now set to achieve “mainstream” status. Approaches that have been advocated by parallelcomputing researchersin the past are now being utilized in a number of software libraries and hardware systems that are available for everyday use. Parallel computing ideas have also come to dominate areas such as multi user gaming (especially in the development of gaming engines based on “cell” arc- tectures) – often ignored by many “serious” researchers in the past, but which now are set to have a growing user base of tens of millions across the world. In recent years, focus has also shifted to support energy e?ciency in com- tation, with some researchers proposing a new metric of performance based on Flops/Watt.

This book constitutes the refereed joint proceedings of eight internationl workshops held in conjunction with the Third International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing and Applications, ISPA 2005, held in Nanjing, China in November 2005 (see LNCS 3758). The 71 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 323 submissions. The papers of the eight workshops are very specific and contribute to enlarging the spectrum of the more general topics treated in the ISPA 2005 main conference. Topics addressed are applications and economics of peer-to-peer systems (AEPP 2005), advanced storage technology and autonomic distributed data (ASTD 2005), bioinformatics (BIOS 2005), grid computing in china (GCIC 2005), information assurance in distributed systems (IADS 2005), mobile ad-hoc and ubiquitous sensor networks (MASN 2005), service grid computing and applications (SGCA 2005), and Web information systems and applications (WISA 2005).

Advances in optical technologies have made it possible to implement optical interconnections in future massively parallel processing systems. Photons are non-charged particles, and do not naturally interact. Consequently, there are many desirable characteristics of optical interconnects, e.g. high speed (speed of light), increased fanout, high bandwidth, high reliability, longer interconnection lengths, low power requirements, and immunity to EMI with reduced crosstalk. Optics can utilize free-space interconnects as well as guided wave technology, neither of which has the problems of VLSI technology mentioned above. Optical interconnections can be built at various levels, providing chip-to-chip, module-to-module, board-to-board, and node-to-node communications. Massively parallel processing using optical interconnections poses new challenges; new system configurations need to be designed, scheduling and data communication schemes based on new resource metrics need to be investigated, algorithms for a wide variety of applications need to be developed under the novel computation models that optical interconnections permit, and so on. Parallel Computing Using Optical Interconnections is a collection of survey articles written by leading and active scientists in the area of parallel computing using optical interconnections. This is the first book which provides current and comprehensive coverage of the field, reflects the state of the art from high-level architecture design and algorithmic points of view, and points out directions for further research and development.
