The 48 full papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected. They cover all aspects of research, development, and application of large-scale, high performance experimental and commercial systems. Topics include HPC computer architecture and hardware; programming models, system software, and applications; solutions for heterogeneity, reliability, power efficiency of systems; virtualization and containerized environments; big data and cloud computing; and artificial intelligence.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 19th International Workshop on Multi-Agent-Based Simulation, MABS 2019, held in Stockholm Sweden, in July 2018 as part of the Federated AI Meeting, FAIM 2018. The 10 revised full papers included in this volume were carefully selected from 15 submissions. They focus on finding efficient solutions to model complex social systems in such areas as economics, management, and organisational and social sciences. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-workshop proceedings of the 25th International Workshop on Security Protocols, held in Cambridge, UK, in March 2017. The volume consists of 16 thoroughly revised invited papers presented together with the respective transcripts of discussions. The theme of this year's workshop was multi-objective security and the topics covered included security and privacy, formal methods and theory of security, systems security, network security, software and application security, human and societal aspects of security and privacy, security protocols, web protocol security, and mobile and wireless security.

This book contains the majority of the papers presented at the 1990 Women into Computing Conference, together with selected papers from the 1989 and 1988 Conferences. In 1988, the main theme running through the Conference was that of dismay at the low number of women taking computing courses or following computing careers. The 1989 Conference was concerned solely with workshops for schoolgirls and the 1990 Conference concentrated on strategies rather than an assessment of the situation. As editors, we set as our task to make a selection of papers presenting the overall picture in 1990. We found that many of the issues discussed in 1988 are still a cause for concern in 1990, but that strategies to improve the situation are many and varied. Section I contains speeches from the invited speakers and needs little introduction. Section II contains papers covering so me attitudes and issues of concern, ranging from the specific (Gill Russell on child care and Laurie Keller on hacker mentality) through to broader aspects of gender inequality (the papers of Flis Henwood, Margaret Bruce and Alison Adam, and Lyn Bryant). Susan Jones takes a look at the reasons why we should want to see more women in computing, whilst Gillian Lovegrove and Wendy Hall present a more general paper on school and higher education.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the 17th International Workshop on Security Protocols, SP 2009, held in Cambridge, UK, in April 2009. The 17 revised full papers presented together with edited transcriptions of some of the discussions following the presentations have gone through multiple rounds of reviewing, revision, and selection. The theme of this workshop was'Brief Encounters'. In the old days, security protocols were typically run first as preliminaries to, and later to maintain, relatively stable continuing relationships between relatively unchanging individual entities. Pervasive computing, e-bay and second life have shifted the ground: we now frequently desire a secure commitment to a particular community of entities, but relatively transient relationships with individual members of it, and we are often more interested in validating attributes than identity. The papers and discussions in this volume examine the theme from the standpoint of various different applications and adversaries.

The information infrastructure - comprising computers, embedded devices, networks and software systems - is vital to day-to-day operations in every sector: information and telecommunications, banking and finance, energy, chemicals and hazardous materials, agriculture, food, water, public health, emergency services, transportation, postal and shipping, government and defense. Global business and industry, governments, indeed society itself, cannot function effectively if major components of the critical information infrastructure are degraded, disabled or destroyed. Critical Infrastructure Protection describes original research results and innovative applications in the interdisciplinary field of critical infrastructure protection. Also, it highlights the importance of weaving science, technology and policy in crafting sophisticated, yet practical, solutions that will help secure information, computer and network assets in the various critical infrastructure sectors. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the International Conference for Smart Health, ICSH 2015, held in Phoenix, AZ, USA, in November 2015. The 33 papers presented together were carefully reviewed and selected from 43 submissions. The conference focused on topics and issues including medical monitoring and information extraction, clinical and medical data mining, health data analysis and management, big data and smart health, and healthcare intelligent systems and clinical practice.

The European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information (ESSLLI) is organized every year by the Association for Logic, Language and Information (FoLLI) in different sites around Europe. The main focus of ESSLLI is on the interface between linguistics, logic and computation. ESSLLI offers foundational, introductory and advanced courses, as well as workshops, covering a wide variety of topics within the three areas of interest: Language and Computation, Language and Logic, and Logic and Computation. During two weeks, around 50 courses and 10 workshops are offered to the attendants, each of 1.5 hours per day during a five days week, with up to seven parallel sessions. ESSLLI also includes a student session (papers and posters by students only, 1.5 hour per day during the two weeks) and four evening lectures by senior scientists in the covered areas.
