This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the 39th National Conference of Theoretical Computer Science, NCTCS 2021, held in Yinchuan, China, in July 2021. The 67 full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 145 submissions, and 14 of them were selected for the volume. The papers present recent research in the areas of information hiding, data detection and recognition, system scheduling, time series prediction, and formal analysis.

Information system architecture (ISA) specification as a part of the software engineering field has been an information systems research topic since the 1960's. There have been manifold specification methodologies over the recent decades, developed recently or adapted in order to target the domains of software modelling and legacy systems. Still, there exist considerable issues constituting the need for a flexible ISA development, e.g. incomplete methodology for requirements in model-driven architectures and the lack of qualitative methods for viewpoint definition. Currently existing methods for ISA specification usually create the target architecture by either addressing only a part of software life-cycles or neglecting less structured information. The method for flexible information system architectures (FISA) specification uses the concept of mediating the domain expert and technical system levels. The FISA-method defines construction and application reference models based on the ANSI/IEEE Standard 1471-2000, viewpoints with model transformations based on OMG-Standard Model-Driven Architecture (MDA), and four different approaches for ISA specification, thus providing for flexibility both in construction and refactoring procedures. The FISA-method analyses the ISA specification method field and constructs comprehensive procedure and reference engineering models for flexible ISA specification. The genericity of the conceived construction and application procedure models of FISA allows for its usage both in research and in industry settings, as presented through illustrative scenarios in steel manufacturing and automotive safety.

Today, reliable software systems are the basis of any business or company. The continuous further development of those systems is the central component in software evolution. It requires a huge amount of time- man power- as well as financial resources. The challenges are size, seniority and heterogeneity of those software systems. Christian Wagner addresses software evolution: the inherent problems and uncertainties in the process. He presents a model-driven method which leads to a synchronization between source code and design. As a result the model layer will be the central part in further evolution and source code becomes a by-product. For the first time a model-driven procedure for maintenance and migration of software systems is described. The procedure is composed of a model-driven reengineering and a model-driven migration phase. The application and effectiveness of the procedure are confirmed with a reference implementation applied to four exemplary systems.

The?fth edition of the European Conference on Model-Driven Architecture Foundations and Applications (ECMDA-FA 2009) was dedicated to furthering the state of knowledge and fostering the industrialization of Model-Driven - chitecture (MDA) and Model-Driven Engineering (MDE). MDA is an initiative proposed by the Object Management Group for platform-generic systems - velopment; MDA is one of a class of approaches under the umbrella of MDE. MDE and MDA promote the use of models in the speci?cation, design, analysis, synthesis, deployment, and evolution of complex software systems. It is a pleasure to be able to introduce the proceedings of ECMDA-FA 2009. ECMDA-FA 2009 addressed various MDA areas including model transfor- tions, modelling language issues, modelling of behavior and time, traceability and scalability, model-basedembedded systems engineering,and the application of model-driven development to IT and networking systems. ECMDA-FA 2009 focused on engaging key European and international - searchers and practitioners in a dialogue which will result in a stronger, more e?cientindustry,producingmorereliablesoftwareonthebasisofstate-of-the-art research results. ECMDA-FA is a forum for exchanging information, discussing the latest results and arguing about future developments of MDA and MDE. Particularly, it is one of the few venues that engages both leading academic researchers and industry practitioners, with the intent of creating synergies.

The second instance of the international summer school on Generative and Transformational Techniques in Software Engineering (GTTSE 2007) was held in Braga, Portugal, during July 2–7, 2007. This volume contains an augmented selection of the material presented at the school, including full tutorials, short tutorials, and contributions to the participants workshop. The GTTSE summer school series brings together PhD students, lecturers, technology presenters, as well as other researchers and practitioners who are interested in the generation and the transformation of programs, data, models, metamodels, documentation, and entire software systems. This concerns many areas of software engineering: software reverse and re-engineering, model-driven engineering, automated software engineering, generic language technology, to name a few. Software architecture has emerged as an important subdiscipline of software engineering encompassing a broad set of languages, styles, models, tools, and processes. The role of software architecture in the engineering of software-intensive applications has become more and more important and widespread. Indeed, component-based and service-oriented architectures have become key to the design, development, and evolution of most software systems. The European Conference on Software Architecture (ECSA) is the premier European conference dedicated to the field of software architecture, covering all architectural features of software and service engineering. It is the follow-up of a successful series of European workshops on software architecture held in the United Kingdom in 2004 (Springer LNCS 3047), Italy in 2005 (Springer LNCS 3527), and France in 2006 (Springer LNCS 4344). Due to its success, it has evolved into a fu- fledged series of European conferences whose first edition was ECSA 2007, held in Madrid, Spain September 24–26, 2007. ECSA 2007 provided an international forum for researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to present innovative research and to discuss a wide range of topics in the area of software architecture. This volume of Lecture Notes in Computer Science contains the proceedings of the rd 3 Working Conference on Component Deployment (CD 2005), which took place from 28 to 29, November 2005 in Grenoble, France, and co-located with Middleware 2005. CD 2005 is the third international conference in the series, the first two being held in Berlin and Edinburgh in 2002 and 2004, respectively. The proceedings of both these conferences were also published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series and may be found in volumes 2370 and 3083. Component deployment addresses the tasks that need to be performed after components have been developed and addresses questions such as: • What do we do with components after they have been built? • How do we deploy them into their execution environment? • How can we evolve them once they have been deployed? CD 2005 brought together researchers and practitioners with the goal of deve- ping a better understanding of how deployment takes place in the wider context. The Program Committee selected 15 papers (12 long papers, three short papers) out of 29 submissions. All submissions were reviewed by at least three members of the Program Committee. Papers were selected based on originality, quality, soundness and relevance to the workshop.
