This book constitutes the proceedings of the Second OpenSHMEM Workshop, held in Annapolis, MD, USA, in August 2015. The 12 technical papers and one short position papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 17 submissions. The topics of the workshop included extensions to the OpenSHMEM API, implementation of the API for current and emerging architectures, tools to debug and profile OpenSHMEM programs, experience porting applications to the OpenSHMEM programming model, and changes to the OpenSHMEM specification to address the needs of programming exascale systems.

Among the topics covered are specification, synthesis, verification, analysis, optimization, specialization, security, certification, application and tools, program/model manipulation, and transformation techniques for any programming language paradigm.

It is our great pleasure to present the proceedings of the second Russia–Taiwan Symposium on Methods and Tools of Parallel Programming (MTPP 2010). MTPP is the main regular event of the Russia–Taiwan scientific forum that covers the many dimensions of methods and tools of parallel programming, algorithms and architectures, encompassing fundamental theoretical approaches, practical experimental projects, and commercial components and systems. As applications of computing systems have permeated every aspect of daily life, the power of computing systems has become increasingly critical. Therefore, MTPP is intended to play an important role allowing researchers to exchange information regarding advancements in the state of the art and practice of IT-driven services and applications, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future directions of parallel computing. We received a large number of high-quality submissions this year. In the first stage, all papers submitted were screened for their relevance and general submission requirements. These manuscripts then underwent a rigorous peer-review process with at least three reviewers per paper. At the end, 33 papers were accepted for presentation and included in the main proceedings. To encourage and promote the work presented at MTPP 2010, we are delighted to inform the authors that some of the papers will be accepted in special issues of the Journal of Supercomputing, which has played a prominent role in promoting the development and use of parallel and distributed processing.

Edited in collaboration with FoLLI, the Association of Logic, Language and Information, this volume constitutes a selection of papers presented at the Internatonal Conference on Infinity in Logic and Computation, ILC 2007, held in Cape Town, South Africa, in November 2007. The 7 revised papers presented together with 2 invited talks were carefully selected from 27 initial submissions during two rounds of reviewing and improvement. The papers address all aspects of infinity in automata theory, logic, computability and verification and focus on topics such as automata on infinite objects; combinatorics, cryptography and complexity; computability and complexity on the real numbers; infinite games and their connections to logic; logic, computability, and complexity in finitely presentable infinite structures; randomness and computability; transfinite computation; and verification of infinite state systems.

This is the joint post-proceedings of the 6th International Symposium on High Performance Computing (ISHPC-VI) and the First International Workshop on Advanced Low Power Systems 2006 (ALPS2006). The post-proceedings also contain the papers presented at the Second HPF International Workshop: - periences and Progress (HiWEP2005) and the Workshop on Applications for PetaFLOPS Computing (APC2005), which are workshops of ISHPC-VI. ISHPC-VI, HiWEP2005 and APC2005 were held in Nara, Japan during September 7–9, 2005. Fifty-eight papers from 11 countries were submitted to ISHPC-VI. After the reviews of the submitted papers, the ISHPC-VI Program Committee selected 15 regular (12-page) papers for oral presentation. In ad- tion, several other papers with favorable reviews were recommended for poster presentation, and 14 short (8-page) papers were also selected. Twenty-eight papers out of 29 ISHPC-VI papers are contained in the post-proceedings. Hi- WEP2005 and APC2005 received eight and ten submissions, with six and eight papers being accepted for oral presentation after reviews, respectively. All the HiWEP2005 and APC2005 papers are included in the post-proceedings. ALPS2006 was held in Cairns, Australia on July 1, 2006 in conjunction with the ACM 20th International Conference on Supercomputing. The number of submitted papers was 15, and eight papers were accepted for oral presentation. The post-proceedings contain six of the eight papers.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the 15th International Workshop on Fast Software Encryption, FSE 2008, held in Lausanne, Switzerland in February 2008. The 26 revised full papers presented together with 4 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 72 submissions. The papers address all current aspects of fast and secure primitives for symmetric cryptology and are organized in topical sections on SHA collisions, new hash function designs, block cipher cryptanalysis, implementation aspects, hash function cryptanalysis, stream cipher cryptanalysis, security bounds, and entropy.

The Fifth International Conference on Implementation and Application of - tomata (CIAA 2000) was held at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada on July 24-25, 2000. This conference series was formerly called the International Workshop on Implementing Automata (WIA) This volume of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series contains all the papers that were presented at CIAA 2000, and also the abstracts of the poster papers that were displayed during the conference. The conference addressed issues in automata application and implemen- tion. The topics of the papers presented at this conference ranged from automata applications in software engineering, natural language and speech recognition, and image processing, to new representations and algorithms for e cient imp- mentation of automata and related structures. Automata theory is one of the oldest areas in computer science. Research in automata theory has always been motivated by its applications since its early stages of development. In the 1960s and 1970s, automata research was moti- ted heavily by problems arising from compiler construction, circuit design, string matching, etc. In recent years, many new applications have been found in various areas of computer science as well as in other disciplines. Examples of the new applications include statecharts in object-oriented modeling, nite transducers in natural language processing, and nondeterministic nite-state models in c- munication protocols. Many of the new applications do not and cannot simply apply the existing models and algorithms in automata theory to their problems.

This volume is the third in an ongoing series of books that deal with the state of the art in timetabling research. It contains a selection of the papers presented at the 3rd International Conference on the Practice and Theory of Automated Timetabling (PATAT 2000) held in Constance, Germany, on August 16{18th, 2000. The conference, once again, brought together researchers, practitioners, and vendors from all over the world working on all aspects of computer-aided timetable generation. The main aim of the PATAT conference series is to serve as an international and inter-disciplinary forum for new timetabling research results and directions. The conference series particularly aims to foster mul- disciplinary timetabling research. Our eld has always attracted scientists from a number of traditional domains including computer science and operational - search and we believe that the cross-fertilisation of ideas from di erent elds and disciplines is a very important factor in the future development of timetabling research. The Constance conference certainly met these aims. As can be seen from the selection of papers in this volume, there was a wide range of interesting approaches and ideas for a variety of timetabling application areas and there were delegates from many di erent disciplines. It is clear that while considerable progress is being made in many areas of timetabling research, there are a number of important issues that researchers still have to face. The workshop on Computability and Complexity in Analysis, CCA 2000, was hosted by the Department of Computer Science of the University of Wales Swansea, September 17{19, 2000. It was the fourth workshop in a successful series of workshops: CCA'95 in Hagen, Germany, CCA'96 in Trier, Germany, and CCA'98 in Brno, Czech Republic. About 40 participants from the countries United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Italy, Russia, France, Denmark, Greece, and Ireland contributed to the success of this meeting. Altogether, 28 talkswere p- sented in Swansea. These proceedings include 23 papers which represent a cro- section through recent research on computability and complexity in analysis. The workshop succeeded in bringing together people interested in computability and complexity aspects of analysis and in exploring connections with nume- cal methods, physics and, of course, computer science. It was rounded o by a number of talks and papers on exact computer arithmetic and by a competition of v e implemented systems. A report on this competition has been included in these proceedings. The papers in this volume were presented at the 6th International Meeting on DNA Based Computers, organized by the Leiden Center for Natural Computing and held from June 13 to June 17, 2000 at The Lorentz Center, University of Leiden, Leiden, The Netherlands. DNA Computing is a novel and fascinating development at the interface of computer science and molecular biology. It has emerged in recent years, not simply as an exciting technology for information processing, but also as a catalyst for knowledge transfer between information processing, nanotechnology, and biology. This area of research has the potential to change our understanding of the theory and practice of computing. The call for papers and poster presentations sought contributions of original research and technical expositions in all areas of bio-computation. A total of 33 abstracts were submitted of which 16 were accepted for presentation and included in the proceedings. The papers were selected by the program committee based on originality and quality of research and on relevance to the bio-computing eld. Invited talks were given by Masami Hagiya (Tokyo University), Laura La- weber (Princeton University), John Reif (Duke University), Thomas Schmidt (Leiden University), and Lloyd M. Smith (University of Wisconsin). Invited - pers based on the talks by Hagiya and Reif are included in this volume, along with the contributed papers. Additional tutorials were held on the rst and last days of the conference.

A large amount of the capacity of today's computers is used for computations that can be described as computations involving real numbers. In this book, the focus is on a problem arising particularly in real number computations: the problem of veri?edor reliablecomputations. Since real numbersare objects c- taining an in?nite amount of information, they cannot be represented precisely on a computer. This leads to the well-known problems caused by unveri?ed - plementations of real number algorithms using?nite precision. While this is t- ditionally seen to be a problem in numerical mathematics, there are also several scienti?c communities in computer science that are dealing with this problem. This book is a follow-up of the Dagstuhl Seminar 06021 on “Reliable Imp- mentation of Real Number Algorithms: Theory and Practice,” which took place January 8–13, 2006. It was intended to stimulate an exchange of ideas between the di?erent communities that deal with the problem of reliable implementation of real number algorithms either from a theoretical or from a practical point of view. Forty-eight researchers from many di?erent countries and many di?erent disciplines gathered in the castle of Dagstuhl to exchange views and ideas, in a relaxed atmosphere. The program consisted of 35 talks of 30 minutes each, and of three evening sessions with additional presentations and discussions. There were also lively discussions about di?erent theoretical models and practical - proaches for reliable real number computations.
