This volume contains a selection of the papers presented at the 11th International Workshop on Multi-Agent-Based Simulation (MABS 2010), a workshop co-located with the 9th International Joint Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems (AAMAS 2010), which was held on May 10-14, 2010 in Toronto, Canada. The 11 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 26 submissions. The workshop has been an important source of inspiration for the body of knowledge that has been produced in the field of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS). As illustrated by this volume, the workshop continues to bring together researchers interested in MAS engineering with researchers focused on finding efficient ways to model complex social systems in social, economic and organizational areas. In all these areas, agent theories, metaphors, models, analyses, experimental designs, empirical studies, and methodological principles all converge into simulation as a way of achieving explanations and predictions, exploring and testing hypotheses, and producing better designs and systems.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 12th International Workshop on Multi-Agent-Based Simulation, MABS 2011, held in Taipei, Taiwan, in May 2011. The 10 revised selected and extended papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 21 submissions. The topics covered are MABS in scientometrics; MABS in politics, transit and policy; pedestrian, crowds and large scale MABS; and MABS modeling.

This is the joint post-proceedings of the 6th International Symposium on High Performance Computing (ISHPC-VI) and the First International Workshop on Advanced Low Power Systems 2006 (ALPS2006). The post-proceedings also contain the papers presented at the Second HPF International Workshop: - periences and Progress (HiWEP2005) and the Workshop on Applications for PetaFLOPS Computing (APC2005), which are workshops of ISHPC-VI. ISHPC-VI, HiWEP2005 and APC2005 were held in Nara, Japan during September 7–9, 2005. Fifty-eight papers from 11 countries were submitted to ISHPC-VI. After the reviews of the submitted papers, the ISHPC-VI Program Committee selected 15 regular (12-page) papers for oral presentation. In ad- tion, several other papers with favorable reviews were recommended for poster presentation, and 14 short (8-page) papers were also selected. Twenty-eight papers out of 29 ISHPC-VI papers are contained in the post-proceedings. Hi- WEP2005 and APC2005 received eight and ten submissions, with six and eight papers being accepted for oral presentation after reviews, respectively. All the HiWEP2005 and APC2005 papers are included in the post-proceedings. ALPS2006 was held in Cairns, Australia on July 1, 2006 in conjunction with the ACM 20th International Conference on Supercomputing. The number of submitted papers was 15, and eight papers were accepted for oral presentation. The post-proceedings contain six of the eight papers.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 20th International Conference on Integrated Circuit and System Design, PATMOS 2010, held in Grenoble, France, in September 2010. The 24 revised full papers presented and the 9 extended abstracts were carefully reviewed and are organized in topical sections on design flows; circuit techniques; low power circuits; self-timed circuits; process variation; high-level modeling of poweraware heterogeneous designs in SystemC-AMS; and minalogic.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 27th International Symposium on Model Checking Software, SPIN 2021, held virtually in July 2021.The 3 full papers, 4 tool papers, and 1 case study presented together with 2 invited talks were carefully reviewed and selected from 20 submissions. Topics covered include formal verification techniques for automated analysis of software; formal analysis for modeling languages, such as UML/state charts; formal specification languages, temporal logic, design-by-contract; model checking, automated theorem proving, including SAT and SMT; verifying compilers; abstraction and symbolic execution techniques; and much more.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Formal Modeling and Analysis of Timed Systems, FORMATS 2019, held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in August 2019.The 15 full papers and 2 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 42 submissions. The papers are organized in the following topical sections: special session on data-driven and stochastic approaches to real-time, including monitoring and Big Data; timed systems; linear and non-linear systems; timed automata; special session on timed systems and probabilities.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 26th International Symposium on Model Checking Software, SPIN 2019, held in Beijing, China, in July 2019. The 11 full papers presented and 2 demo-tool papers, were carefully reviewed and selected from 29 submissions. Topics covered include formal verification techniques for automated analysis of software; formal analysis for modeling languages, such as UML/state charts; formal specification languages, temporal logic, design-by-contract; model checking, automated theorem proving, including SAT and SMT; verifying compilers; abstraction and symbolic execution techniques; and much more.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Interactive Theorem Proving, ITP 2016, held in Nancy, France, in August 2016.The 27 full papers and 5 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 55 submissions. The topics range from theoretical foundations to implementation aspects and applications in program verification, security and formalization of mathematical theories.

The 2010 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Computational Intelligence (AICI 2010) was held October 23–24, 2010 in Sanya, China. The AICI 2010 received 1,216 submissions from 20 countries and regions. After rigorous reviews, 105 high-quality papers were selected for publication in the AICI 2010 proceedings. The acceptance rate was 8%. The aim of AICI 2010 was to bring together researchers working in many different areas of artificial intelligence and computational intelligence to foster the exchange of new ideas and promote international collaborations. In addition to the large number of submitted papers and invited sessions, there were several internationally well-known keynote speakers. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we thank Hainan Province Institute of Computer and Qiongzhou University for its sponsorship and logistics support. We also thank the members of the Organizing Committee and the Program Committee for their hard work. The PaCT-2009 (Parallel Computing Technologies) conference was a four-day eventheld in Novosibirsk. This was the tenth internationalconference to be held in the PaCT series. The conferences are held in Russia every odd year. The?rst conference, PaCT 1991, was held in Novosibirsk (Academgorodok), September 7–11, 1991. The next PaCT conferences were held in Obninsk (near Moscow), August 30 to September 4, 1993; in St. Petersburg, September 12–15, 1995; in Yaroslavl, September 9–12, 1997; in Pushkin (near St. Petersburg), September 6–10, 1999; in Academgorodok (Novosibirsk), September 3–7, 2001; in Nizhni Novgorod, September 15–19, 2003; in Krasnoyarsk, September 5–9, 2005; in Pereslavl-Zalessky, September 3–7, 2007. Since 1995 all the PaCT Proceedings have been published by Springer in the LNCS series. PaCT-2009 was jointly organized by the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Geophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and the State University of Novosibirsk. The purpose of the conference was to bring together scientists working on theory, architecture, software, hardware and the solution of lar- scale problems in order to provide integrated discussions on parallel computing technologies. The conference attracted about 100 participants from around the world. Authors from 17 countries submitted 72 papers. Of those submitted, 34 were selected for the conference as regular papers; there were also 2 invited - pers. In addition there were a number of posters presented. All the papers were internationallyreviewedby at leastthree referees. A demo sessionwasorganized for the participants.

The 5th International Symposium on High Performance Computing (ISHPC–V) was held in Odaiba, Tokyo, Japan, October 20–22, 2003. The symposium was thoughtfully planned, organized, and supported by the ISHPC Organizing C- mittee and its collaborating organizations. The ISHPC-V program included two keynote speeches, several invited talks, two panel discussions, and technical sessions covering theoretical and applied research topics in high–performance computing and representing both academia and industry. One of the regular sessions highlighted the research results of the ITBL project (IT–based research laboratory, http://www.itbl.riken.go.jp/). ITBL is a Japanese national project started in 2001 with the objective of re- izing a virtual joint research environment using information technology. ITBL aims to connect 100 supercomputers located in main Japanese scienti?c research laboratories via high–speed networks. A total of 58 technical contributions from 11 countries were submitted to ISHPC-V. Each paper received at least three peer reviews. After a thorough evaluation process, the program committee selected 14 regular (12-page) papers for presentation at the symposium. In addition, several other papers with fav- able reviews were recommended for a poster session presentation. They are also included in the proceedings as short (8-page) papers. Theprogramcommitteegaveadistinguishedpaperawardandabeststudent paper award to two of the regular papers. The distinguished paper award was given for “Code and Data Transformations for Improving Shared Cache P- formance on SMT Processors” by Dimitrios S. Nikolopoulos. The best student paper award was given for “Improving Memory Latency Aware Fetch Policies for SMT Processors” by Francisco J. Cazorla.

Parallel and distributed computing in the 1980s and 1990s had great in?uence onapplication developmentin science, engineering andbusiness computing. The improvements in computation and communication capabilities have enabled the creation of demanding applications in critical domains such as the environment, health, aerospace, and other areas of science and technology. Similarly, new classesofapplicationsareenabledbytheavailabilityofheterogeneouslarge-scale distributed systems which are becoming available nowadays (based on techno- giessuchasgridandpeer-to-peersystems).Parallelcomputingsystemsexploita large diversity of computer architectures, from supercomputers, shared-memory or distributed-memory multi processors, to local networks and clusters of p- sonal computers. With the recent emergence of multi core architectures, parallel computing is now set to achieve “mainstream” status. Approaches that have been advocated by parallelcomputing researchersin the past are now being utilized in a number of software libraries and hardware systems that are available for everyday use. Parallel computing ideas have also come to dominate areas such as multi user gaming (especially in the development of gaming engines based on “cell” arc- tectures) – often ignored by many “serious” researchers in the past, but which now are set to have a growing user base of tens of millions across the world. In recent years, focus has also shifted to support energy e?ciency in com- tation, with some researchers proposing a new metric of performance based on Flops/Watt.
