This book presents the thoroughly refereed and revised post-workshop proceedings of the 19th Monterey Workshop, held in Beijing, China, in Ocotber 2016. The workshop explored the challenges associated with the Development, Operation and Management of Large-Scale complex IT Systems. The 18 revised full papers presented were significantly extended and improved by the insights gained from the productive and lively discussions at the workshop, and the feedback from the post-workshop peer reviews. 2016 marks the 23rd anniversary for the Monterey Workshop series which started in 1993. For nearly a quarter of century, the Monterey Workshops have established themselves as an important international forum to foster, among academia, industry, and government agencies, discussion and exchange of ideas, research results and experience in developing software intensive systems, and have significantly advanced the field. This volume contains a selection of the papers presented at the 11th International Workshop on Multi-Agent-Based Simulation (MABS 2010), a workshop co-located with the 9th International Joint Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems (AAMAS 2010), which was held on May 10-14, 2010 in Toronto, Canada. The 11 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 26 submissions. The workshop has been an important source of inspiration for the body of knowledge that has been produced in the field of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS). As illustrated by this volume, the workshop continues to bring together researchers interested in MAS engineering with researchers focused on finding efficient ways to model complex social systems in social, economic and organizational areas. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 20th International Conference on Integrated Circuit and System Design, PATMOS 2010, held in Grenoble, France, in September 2010. The 24 revised full papers presented and the 9 extended abstracts were carefully reviewed and are organized in topical sections on design flows; circuit techniques; low power circuits; self-timed circuits; process variation; high-level modeling of poweraware heterogeneous designs in SystemC-AMS; and minalogic.

This is the joint post-proceedings of the 6th International Symposium on High Performance Computing (ISHPC-VI) and the First International Workshop on Advanced Low Power Systems 2006 (ALPS2006). The post-proceedings also contain the papers presented at the Second HPF International Workshop: - periences and Progress (HiWEP2005) and the Workshop on Applications for PetaFLOPS Computing (APC2005), which are workshops of ISHPC-VI. ISHPC-VI, HiWEP2005 and APC2005 were held in Nara, Japan during September 7–9, 2005. Fifty-eight papers from 11 countries were submitted to ISHPC-VI. After the reviews of the submitted papers, the ISHPC-VI Program Committee selected 15 regular (12-page) papers for oral presentation. In ad- tion, several other papers with favorable reviews were recommended for poster presentation, and 14 short (8-page) papers were also selected. Twenty-eight papers out of 29 ISHPC-VI papers are contained in the post-proceedings. Hi- WEP2005 and APC2005 received eight and ten submissions, with six and eight papers being accepted for oral presentation after reviews, respectively. All the HiWEP2005 and APC2005 papers are included in the post-proceedings. ALPS2006 was held in Cairns, Australia on July 1, 2006 in conjunction with the ACM 20th International Conference on Supercomputing. The number of submitted papers was 15, and eight papers were accepted for oral presentation. The post-proceedings contain six of the eight papers.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the Third International Workshop on Foundational and Practical Aspects of Resource Analysis, FOPARA 2013, held in Bertinoro, Italy, in August 2013. The 9 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 12 submissions. They deal with traditional approaches to complexity analysis, differential privacy, and probabilistic analysis of programs.

This book constitutes the reviewed proceedings of the 5th International Workshop on Algorithmic Aspects of Wireless Sensor Networks, ALGOSENSORS 2009, held in Rhodes, Greece, July 10-11, 2009. The 21 full papers and two brief announcements were carefully selected from 41 submissions. This workshops aimed at bringing together research contributions related to diverse algorithmic and complexity-theoretic aspects of wireless sensor networks. The 5th edition of the VECPAR series of conferences marked a change of the conference title. The full conference title now reads VECPAR 2002 — 5th Int- national Conference on High Performance Computing for Computational S- ence. This re?ects more accurately what has been the main emphasis of the conference since its early days in 1993 – the use of computers for solving pr- lems in science and engineering. The present postconference book includes the best papers and invited talks presented during the three days of the conference, held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (Portugal), June 26–28 2002. The 17 papers presented together with the abstracts of two invited talks in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 27 submissions. The papers presented at the workshop reflect the diversity of modern performance engineering, with topics ranging from advances in performanceengineering realm, including, dependability and security modeling, performance oriented model verification and testing, hardware and software systems case-studies, applications/extensions of queuing theory and network design

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Verification and Evaluation of Computer and Communication Systems ( VECoS 2018) held at Grenoble, France, in September 2018. The 11 full papers in this volume, presented together with one abstract and two invited papers, were carefully reviewed and selected from 23 submissions. The aim of the VECoS conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners in the areas of verification, control, performance, and dependability evaluation in order to discuss state of the art and challenges in modern computer and communication systems in which functional and extra-functional properties are strongly interrelated. Thus, the main motivation for VECoS is to encourage the cross-fertilization between various formal verification and evaluation approaches, methods and techniques, and especially those developed for concurrent and distributed hardware/software systems.

It is our great pleasure to present the proceedings of the symposia and workshops on parallel and distributed computing and applications associated with the ICA3PP 2010 conference. These symposia and workshops provide vibrant opportunities for researchers and industry practitioners to share their research experience, original research results and practical development experiences in the new challenging research areas of parallel and distributed computing technologies and applications. It was the first time that the ICA3PP conference series added symposia and wo- shops to its program in order to provide a wide range of topics that extend beyond the main conferences. The goal was to provide a better coverage of emerging research areas and also forums for focused and stimulating discussions. With this objective in mind, we selected three workshops to accompany the ICA3PP 2010 conference: • FPDC 2010, the 2010 International Symposium on Frontiers of Parallel and Distributed Computing • HPCTA 2010, the 2010 International Workshop on High-Performance Computing, Technologies and Applications • M2A 2010, the 2010 International Workshop on Multicore and Mul- threaded Architectures and Algorithms Each of the symposia / workshops focused on a particular theme and complemented the spectrum of the main conference. All papers published in the workshops proce- ings were selected by the Program Committee on the basis of referee reports. Each paper was reviewed by independent referees who judged the papers for originality, quality, contribution, presentation and consistency with the theme of the workshops.

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the proceedings of the 10th annual event of the International Conference on Algorithms and Architectures for Parallel Processing (ICA3PP). ICA3PP is recognized as the main regular event covering the many dimensions of parallel algorithms and architectures, encompassing fundamental theoretical - proaches, practical experimental projects, and commercial components and systems. As applications of computing systems have permeated every aspect of daily life, the power of computing systems has become increasingly critical. Therefore, ICA3PP 2010 aimed to permit researchers and practitioners from industry to exchange inf- mation regarding advancements in the state of the art and practice of IT-driven s- vices and applications, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future directions of parallel processing. We received a total of 157 submissions this year, showing by both quantity and quality that ICA3PP is a premier conference on parallel processing. In the first stage, all papers submitted were screened for their relevance and general submission - quirements. These manuscripts then underwent a rigorous peer-review process with at least three reviewers per paper. In the end, 47 papers were accepted for presentation and included in the main proceedings, comprising a 30% acceptance rate.

The 2010 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Computational Intelligence (AICI 2010) was held October 23–24, 2010 in Sanya, China. The AICI 2010 received 1,216 submissions from 20 countries and regions. After rigorous reviews, 105 high-quality papers were selected for publication in the AICI 2010 proceedings. The acceptance rate was 8%. The aim of AICI 2010 was to bring together researchers working in many different areas of artificial intelligence and computational intelligence to foster the exchange of new ideas and promote international collaborations. In addition to the large number of submitted papers and invited sessions, there were several internationally well-known keynote speakers. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we thank Hainan Province Institute of Computer and Qiongzhou University for its sponsorship and logistics support. We also thank the members of the Organizing Committee and the Program Committee for their hard work. The RV conference is concerned with all aspects of monitoring and analysis of hardware, software and more general system executions. Runtime verification techniques are lightweight techniques to assess correctness, reliability, and robustness; these techniques are significantly more powerful and versatile than conventional testing, and more practical than exhaustive formal verification.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 23rd International Conference on Analytical and Stochastic Modelling Techniques and Applications, ASMTA 2016, held in Cardiff, UK, in August 2016. The 21 full papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 30 submissions.
