- Abstract
The present book includes a set of selected extended papers from the 11th International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics (ICINCO 2014), held in Vienna, Austria, from 1 to 3 September 2014. The conference brought together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the application of informatics to Control, Automation and Robotics. Four simultaneous tracks will be held, covering Intelligent Control Systems, Optimization, Robotics, Automation, Signal Processing, Sensors, Systems Modelling and Control, and Industrial Engineering, Production and Management. Informatics applications are pervasive in many areas of Control, Automation and Robotics. ICINCO 2014 received 301 submissions, from 49 countries, in all continents. After a double blind paper review performed by the Program Committee, 20% were accepted as full papers and thus selected for oral presentation. Additional papers were accepted as short papers and posters. A further selection was made after the Conference, based also on the assessment of presentation quality and audience interest, so that this book includes the extended and revised versions of the very best papers of ICINCO 2014. Commitment to high quality standards is a major concern of ICINCO that will be maintained in the next editions, considering not only the stringent paper acceptance ratios but also the quality of the program committee, keynote lectures, participation level and logistics.

- Abstract
This book is aimed at researchers specializing in the kinematics of robot mechanisms as well as at doctoral students in guiding their research work. A spectrum of the latest achievements in kinematics analysis, modelling, simulation, design and control is covered. New theories and methods are applied to serial, parallel and cable-driven mechanisms for use in industrial or service robotics. The systems range from being less than fully mobile to kinematically redundant and over-constrained. Forty-nine papers are included, arranged in seven chapters, as presented at the 19th Symposium on Advances in Robot Kinematics 2024. The symposium, which has been held since 1988, was organized this time in Ljubljana (Slovenia), where it began thirty-six years ago. The papers have been rigorously selected based on peer review and are arranged in chapters randomly, as is the prevailing tradition of these symposia. In doing so, we aim to give equal emphasis to each of these achievements.

- Abstract
“IAS has been held every two years since 1986 providing venue for the latest accomplishments and innovations in advanced intelligent autonomous systems. New technologies and application domains continuously pose new challenges to be overcome in order to apply intelligent autonomous systems in a reliable and user-independent way in areas ranging from industrial applications to professional service and household domains. The present book contains the papers presented at the 17th International Conference on Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS-17), which was held from June 13–16, 2022, in Zagreb, Croatia. In our view, 62 papers, authored by 196 authors from 19 countries, are a testimony to the appeal of the conference considering travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our special thanks go to the authors and the reviewers for their effort—the results of their joint work are visible in this book. We look forward to seeing you at IAS-18 in 2023 in Suwon, South Korea!”

- Abstract
We are starting to enter a post-COVID-19 life. While this pandemic has made everyone's life challenging, it also expedited the transition of our everyday lives into a new form, often called “The New Normal.” Although many people often use the terminology, perhaps we still do not have consensus about what it is and what it should be like. However, one thing that is clear namely that robotics and artificial intelligence technologies are playing a critical role in this transition phase of our everyday lives. We saw the emergence of last-mile delivery robots on the street, AI-embedded service robots in restaurants, uninhabited shops, non-face-to-face medical services, conferences and talks in metaverses, and AI-based online education programs. This book is an edition that aims at serving researchers and practitioners in related fields with a timely dissemination of the recent progress in the areas of robotics and artificial intelligence. This book is based on a collection of papers presented at the 10th International Conference on Robot Intelligence Technology and Applications (RiTA), held at Griffith University in the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The conference was held in a hybrid format on December 7–9, 2022, with the main theme “Artificial, Agile, Acute Robot Intelligence.” For better readability, the total of 41 papers are grouped into five chapters: Chapter I: Motion Planning and Control; Chapter II: Vision and Image Processing; Chapter III: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Autonomous Vehicles; Chapter IV: Learning and Classification; and Chapter V: Environmental and Societal Robotic Applications. The articles were accepted through a rigorous peer-review process and presented at the RiTA 2022 conference. Also, they were updated, and final versions of the manuscripts were produced after in-depth discussions during the conference. We would like to thank all the authors and editors for contributing to this edition.
