This book gathers selected science and technology papers presented at the 2018 International Conference on Science Technology and Social Sciences (ICSTSS 2018), organised bi-annually by Universiti Teknologi MARA Pahang, Malaysia. Based on the theme “Redesigning Education for Industrial Revolution”, the papers in this book address a broad range of topics in the fundamental and applied sciences, including computer science, engineering, environmental and management, furniture, forestry, health and medicine, material science, mathematics, plantation and agrotechnology, sport science and statistics, covering theoretical, numerical and experimental studies. The book serves as a platform for disseminating research findings by academicians of local, regional and global prominence, as a catalyst to inspire positive innovations in the development of the region. This book focuses on “Disruption and Change” in the Asian region. In this context, managers and policymakers face a fast transformation of existing structures and business environments. From a business perspective, change is the adoption of business strategies, activities, and operations that meet the needs of the firm and its stakeholder today while protecting, sustaining, and enhancing the human and natural resources that will be needed in the future. This ambitious book develops an integrative understanding of business transparency spanning business disciplines. It synthesizes the vast, siloed research on business transparency to develop and provide an integrative view for business researchers and scholars, pointing out research opportunities in the process. The first chapter introduces business transparency with a brief historical overview, followed by its key conceptualizations and challenges. Die Betriebswirtschaftslehre hat in der jüngeren Vergangenheit kein allzu großes Interesse an der eigenen ideengeschichtlichen Entwicklung gezeigt.
