Recently, coated paper substrates have been used in a wide range of packaging applications. In this research, we present a chitosan with rosemary essential oil, paper coating as water and possible repellent resistant solution on biological basis. The aim of this research was to coat two different uncoated (also calendared) papers with a bio-based coating solution and to analyse mechanical, physical properties, resistance of coating and print ink. The resulting coated chitosan-rosemary oil, papers showed remarkable water resistance (Cobb60 values 5.18 and 4.55 g/m2). The good mechanical properties of the coated papers increased after the coating treatment. Namely, elongation at break and tear strength improved due to the structure of the coating itself. The resistance of coatings on printed surfaces also showed sufficient results for further packaging applications.

The conventional electrodes like glassy carbon electrode and graphite are restricted for largescale electrochemical production and in-vivo applications. Therefore, flexible electrodes are beginning to replace with such electrodes. This work reports a simple preparation of flexible paper-like electrode material (FPEM) including reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) for possible electrochemical applications. For this purpose, graphene oxide dispersion was interacted with ZnONPs, filtered under vacuum effect through a membrane, peeled off the membrane and then reduced by hydrothermal reduction process. This FPEM was performed as working electrode for some redox processes and results revealed that rGO/ZnONPs paper allows a large potential region in acidic, basic, and neutral media for electrochemical processes. Raman spectroscopy over the last two decades has shown its power and great potential in advancing our knowledge about the use of materials in the human past. Raman applications on paper-based materials are relatively few, however, compared to the countless case studies on other base materials. In this short review, I summarize post-2000 Raman applications on Chinese paper-based materials, in the hope of keeping non-Chinese scientists updated--which subjects have been investigated by Raman spectroscopy and to address what questions, how Raman applications shed light on the manufacture of pre-1949 Chinese paper-based materials, and what interesting topics arise from these Raman applications. This paper describes the findings of a technical study of the materials and techniques used by Honore Daumier for works on canvas, panel and paper, with special regard to the similarity between techniques used by the artist for all three supports. Thirteen paintings (five on canvas and eight on panel) and seven works on paper were examined using a range of techniques to characterize materials and methods used by the artist to create these works. Our findings suggest that materials and methods of application traditionally associated with works on paper were used by Daumier also for his works on canvas and panel supports. Materials include those usually associated with drawings, such as charcoal, lithographic crayon, and thin washes of water- and oil-based paint and ink, applied with quill and reed pens.
