Current challenges in visible and infrared image fusion include color information distortion, texture detail loss, and target edge blur. To address these issues, a fusion algorithm based on double-domain transform filter and nonlinear contrast transform feature extraction (DDCTFuse) is proposed. First, for the problem of incomplete detail extraction that exists in the traditional transform domain image decomposition, an adaptive high-pass filter is proposed to decompose images into high-frequency and low-frequency portions. Second, in order to address the issue of fuzzy fusion target caused by contrast loss during the fusion process, a novel feature extraction algorithm is devised based on a novel nonlinear transform function. Finally, the fusion results are optimized and color-corrected by our proposed spatial-domain logical filter, in order to solve the color loss and edge blur generated in the fusion process. To validate the benefits of the proposed algorithm, nine classical algorithms are compared on the LLVIP, MSRS, INO, and Roadscene datasets. Aiming at the problems of incomplete dehazing, color distortion, and loss of detail and edge information encountered by existing algorithms when processing images of underground coal mines, an image dehazing algorithm for underground coal mines, named CAB CA DSConv Fusion gUNet (CCDF-gUNet), is proposed. First, Dynamic Snake Convolution (DSConv) is introduced to replace traditional convolutions, enhancing the feature extraction capability. Second, residual attention convolution blocks are constructed to simultaneously focus on both local and global information in images. Additionally, the Coordinate Attention (CA) module is utilized to learn the coordinate information of features so that the model can better capture the key information in images. Furthermore, to simultaneously focus on the detail and structural consistency of images, a fusion loss function is introduced. Finally, based on the test verification of the public dataset Haze-4K, the Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structural Similarity (SSIM), and Mean Squared Error (MSE) are 30.72 dB, 0.976, and 55.04, respectively, and on a self-made underground coal mine dataset, they are 31.18 dB, 0.971, and 49.66, respectively. The experimental results show that the algorithm performs well in dehazing, effectively avoids color distortion, and retains image details and edge information, providing some theoretical references for image processing in coal mine surveillance videos. To tackle the challenges of weak sensing capacity for multi-scale objects, high missed detection rates for occluded targets, and difficulties for model deployment in detection tasks of intelligent roadside perception systems, the PDT-YOLO algorithm based on YOLOv7-tiny is proposed. Firstly, we introduce the intra-scale feature interaction module (AIFI) and reconstruct the feature pyramid structure to enhance the detection accuracy of multi-scale targets. Secondly, a lightweight convolution module (GSConv) is introduced to construct a multi-scale efficient layer aggregation network module (ETG), enhancing the network feature extraction ability while maintaining weight. Thirdly, multi-attention mechanisms are integrated to optimize the feature expression ability of occluded targets in complex scenarios, Finally, Wise-IoU with a dynamic non-monotonic focusing mechanism improves the accuracy and generalization ability of model sensing. Compared with YOLOv7-tiny, PDT-YOLO on the DAIR-V2X-C dataset improves mAP50 and mAP50:95 by 4.6% and 12.8%, with a parameter count of 6.1 million; on the IVODC dataset by 15.7% and 11.1%. It is important to achieve the 3D reconstruction of UAV remote sensing images in deep learning-based multi-view stereo (MVS) vision. The lack of obvious texture features and detailed edges in UAV remote sensing images leads to inaccurate feature point matching or depth estimation. To address this problem, this study improves the TransMVSNet algorithm in the field of 3D reconstruction by optimizing its feature extraction network and costumed body depth prediction network. The improvement is mainly achieved by extracting features with the Asymptotic Pyramidal Network (AFPN) and assigning weights to different levels of features through the ASFF module to increase the importance of key levels and also using the UNet structured network combined with an attention mechanism to predict the depth information, which also extracts the key area information. It aims to improve the performance and accuracy of the TransMVSNet algorithm's 3D reconstruction of UAV remote sensing images. In this work, we have performed comparative experiments and quantitative evaluation with other algorithms on the DTU dataset as well as on a large UAV remote sensing image dataset. After a large number of experimental studies, it is shown that our improved TransMVSNet algorithm has better performance and robustness, providing a valuable reference for research and application in the field of 3D reconstruction of UAV remote sensing images. Conventional correction approaches are unsuitable for effectively correcting remote sensing images acquired in the seriously oblique condition which has severe distortions and resolution disparity. Considering that the extraction of control points (CPs) and the parameter estimation of the correction model play important roles in correction accuracy, this paper introduces an effective correction method for large angle (LA) images. Firstly, a new CP extraction algorithm is proposed based on multi-view simulation (MVS) to ensure the effective matching of CP pairs between the reference image and the LA image. Then, a new piecewise correction algorithm is advanced with the optimized CPs, where a concept of distribution measurement (DM) is introduced to quantify the CPs distribution. The whole image is partitioned into contiguous subparts which are corrected by different correction formulae to guarantee the accuracy of each subpart. In this paper, we present a WiFi-based intrusion detection system called Wi-Alarm. Motivated by our observations and analysis that raw channel state information (CSI) of WiFi is sensitive enough to monitor human motion, Wi-Alarm omits data preprocessing. The mean and variance of the amplitudes of raw CSI data are used for feature extraction. Then, a support vector machine (SVM) algorithm is applied to determine detection results. We prototype Wi-Alarm on commercial WiFi devices and evaluate it in a typical indoor scenario. Results show that Wi-Alarm reduces much computational expense without losing accuracy and robustness. For some measurement and detection applications based on video (sequence images), if the exposure time of camera is not suitable with the motion speed of the photographed target, fuzzy edges will be produced in the image, and some poor lighting condition will aggravate this edge blur phenomena. Especially, the existence of noise in industrial field environment makes the extraction of fuzzy edges become a more difficult problem when analyzing the posture of a high-speed moving target. Because noise and edge are always both the kind of high-frequency information, it is difficult to make trade-offs only by frequency bands. In this paper, a noise-tolerant edge detection method based on the correlation relationship between layers of wavelet transform coefficients is proposed. The goal of the paper is not to recover a clean image from a noisy observation, but to make a trade-off judgment for noise and edge signal directly according to the characteristics of wavelet transform coefficients, to realize the extraction of edge information from a noisy image directly. According to the wavelet coefficients tree and the Lipschitz exponent property of noise, the idea of neural network activation function is adopted to design the activation judgment method of wavelet coefficients. Then the significant wavelet coefficients can be retained. At the same time, the non-significant coefficients were removed according to the method of judgment of isolated coefficients. On the other hand, based on the design of Daubechies orthogonal compactly-supported wavelet filter, rational coefficients wavelet filters can be designed by increasing free variables. By reducing the vanishing moments of wavelet filters, more high-frequency information can be retained in the wavelet transform fields, which is benefit to the application of edge detection. For a noisy image of high-speed moving targets with fuzzy edges, by using the length 8-4 rational coefficients biorthogonal wavelet filters and the algorithm proposed in this paper, edge information could be detected clearly. A sensor registry system (SRS) registers sensor metadata and provides them for a seamless semantic process. Recently, network coverage information-based SRS (NC-SRS) was developed to provide sensor information filtering by combining path prediction and network coverage checks. However, the NC-SRS has problems caused by issues such as termination of OpenSignal service and pre-building road segments. Therefore, this paper proposes a sensor registry system-based predictive information service (SRS-PIS) using a grid. SRS-PIS predicts a path based on the grid, checks the network coverage, and filters the sensor. This paper presents a grid-based real-time path prediction algorithm and an algorithm for grouping network service-disabled areas. To obtain network coverage information, we constructed and implemented a grid-based coverage map through experiment to measure the signal strength. This paper proposes a real-time feature extraction VLSI architecture for high-resolution images based on the accelerated KAZE algorithm. Firstly, a new system architecture is proposed. It increases the system throughput, provides flexibility in image resolution, and offers trade-offs between speed and scaling robustness. The architecture consists of a two-dimensional pipeline array that fully utilizes computational similarities in octaves. Secondly, a substructure (block-serial discrete-time cellular neural network) that can realize a nonlinear filter is proposed. This structure decreases the memory demand through the removal of data dependency. Thirdly, a hardware-friendly descriptor is introduced in order to overcome the hardware design bottleneck through the polar sample pattern; a simplified method to realize rotation invariance is also presented. Finally, the proposed architecture is designed in TSMC 65 nm CMOS technology. The experimental results show a performance of 127 fps in full HD resolution at 200 MHz frequency. The required precision for attitude determination in spacecraft is increasing, providing a need for more accurate attitude determination sensors. The star sensor or star tracker provides unmatched arc-second precision and with the rise of micro satellites these sensors are becoming smaller, faster and more efficient. The most critical component in the star sensor system is the lost-in-space star identification algorithm which identifies stars in a scene without a priori attitude information. In this paper, we present an efficient lost-in-space star identification algorithm using a neural network and a robust and novel feature extraction method. Since a neural network implicitly stores the patterns associated with a guide star, a database lookup is eliminated from the matching process. The search time is therefore not influenced by the number of patterns stored in the network, making it constant (O(1)). This search time is unrivalled by other star identification algorithms. The vibration signal of an early rolling bearing is nonstationary and nonlinear, and the fault signal is weak and difficult to extract. To address this problem, this paper proposes a genetic mutation particle swarm optimization variational mode decomposition (GMPSO-VMD) algorithm and applies it to rolling bearing vibration signal fault feature extraction. Firstly, the minimum envelope entropy is used as the objective function of the GMPSO to find the optimal parameter combination of the VMD algorithm. Then, the optimized VMD algorithm is used to decompose the vibration signal of the rolling bearing and several intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) are obtained. The envelope spectrum analysis of GMPSO-VMD decomposed rolling bearing fault signal IMF1 was carried out. Moreover, the feature frequency of the four fault states of the rolling bearing are extracted accurately. Finally, the GMPSO-VMD algorithm is utilized to analyze the simulation signal and rolling bearing fault vibration signal. In this paper, we present a novel red-green-blue-depth simultaneous localization and mapping (RGB-D SLAM) algorithm based on cloud robotics, which combines RGB-D SLAM with the cloud robot and offloads the back-end process of the RGB-D SLAM algorithm to the cloud. This paper analyzes the front and back parts of the original RGB-D SLAM algorithm and improves the algorithm from three aspects: feature extraction, point cloud registration, and pose optimization. Experiments show the superiority of the improved algorithm. In addition, taking advantage of the cloud robotics, the RGB-D SLAM algorithm is combined with the cloud robot and the back-end part of the computationally intensive algorithm is offloaded to the cloud. Experimental validation is provided, which compares the cloud robotic-based RGB-D SLAM algorithm with the local RGB-D SLAM algorithm. The results of the experiments demonstrate the superiority of our framework. With the development of deepfake technology, deepfake detection has received widespread attention. Although some deepfake forensics techniques have been proposed, they are still very difficult to implement in real-world scenarios. This is due to the differences in different deepfake technologies and the compression or editing of videos during the propagation process. Considering the issue of sample imbalance with few-shot scenarios in deepfake detection, we propose a multi-feature channel domain-weighted framework based on meta-learning (MCW). In order to obtain outstanding detection performance of a cross-database, the proposed framework improves a meta-learning network in two ways: it enhances the model's feature extraction ability for detecting targets by combining the RGB domain and frequency domain information of the image and enhances the model's generalization ability for detecting targets by assigning meta weights to channels on the feature map. The proposed MCW framework solves the problems of poor detection performance and insufficient data compression resistance of the algorithm for samples generated by unknown algorithms. The experiment was set in a zero-shot scenario and few-shot scenario, simulating the deepfake detection environment in real situations. We selected nine detection algorithms as comparative algorithms. The experimental results show that the MCW framework outperforms other algorithms in cross-algorithm detection and cross-dataset detection. The MCW framework demonstrates its ability to generalize and resist compression with low-quality training images and across different generation algorithm scenarios, and it has better fine-tuning potential in few-shot learning scenarios. Since the rolling bearing fault signal captured by a vibration sensor contains a large amount of background noise, fault features cannot be accurately extracted. To address this problem, a rolling bearing fault feature extraction algorithm based on improved pelican optimization algorithm (IPOA)–variable modal decomposition (VMD) and multipoint optimal minimum entropy deconvolution adjustment (MOMEDA) methods is proposed. Firstly, the pelican optimization algorithm (POA) was improved using a reverse learning strategy for dimensional-by-dimensional lens imaging and circle mapping, and the optimization performance of IPOA was verified. Secondly, the kurtosis-square envelope Gini coefficient criterion was used to select the optimal modal components from the decomposed components of the signal, and MOMEDA was used to process the optimal modal components in order to obtain the optimal deconvolution signal. Finally, the Teager energy operator (TEO) was employed to demodulate and analyze the optimally deconvoluted signal in order to enhance the transient shock component of the original fault signal. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified using simulated and actual signals. Detection of human lower body provides an implementation idea for the automatic tracking and accurate relocation of automatic vehicles. Based on traditional SSD and ResNet, this paper proposes an improved detection algorithm R-SSD for human lower body detection, which utilizes ResNet50 instead of VGG16 to improve the feature extraction level of the model. According to the application of acquisition equipment, the model input resolution is increased to 448 × 448 and the model detection range is expanded. Six feature maps of the updated resolution network are selected for detection and the lower body image dataset is clustered into five categories for aspect ratio, which are evenly distributed to each feature detection map. The experimental results show that the model R-SSD detection accuracy after training reaches 85.1% mAP. Compared with the original SSD, the detection accuracy is improved by 7% mAP. For facing of the problems caused by the YOLOv4 algorithm's insensitivity to small objects and low detection precision in traffic light detection and recognition, the Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is investigated in the paper using the shallow feature enhancement mechanism and the bounding box uncertainty prediction mechanism. The shallow feature enhancement mechanism is used to extract features from the network and improve the network's ability to locate small objects and color resolution by merging two shallow features at different stages with the high-level semantic features obtained after two rounds of upsampling. Uncertainty is introduced in the bounding box prediction mechanism to improve the reliability of the prediction of the bounding box by modeling the output coordinates of the prediction bounding box and adding the Gaussian model to calculate the uncertainty of the coordinate information. The LISA traffic light data set is used to perform detection and recognition experiments separately. The Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is shown to have a high effectiveness in enhancing the detection and recognition precision of traffic lights. In the detection experiment, the area under the PR curve value of the Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is found to be 97.58%, which represents an increase of 7.09% in comparison to the 90.49% score gained in the Vision for Intelligent Vehicles and Applications Challenge Competition. In the recognition experiment, the mean average precision of the Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is 82.15%, which is 2.86% higher than that of the original YOLOv4 algorithm. One of the most challenging problems in target classification is the extraction of a robust feature, which can effectively represent a specific type of targets. The use of seismic signals in unattended ground sensor (UGS) systems makes this problem more complicated, because the seismic target signal is non-stationary, geology-dependent and with high-dimensional feature space. This paper proposes a new feature extraction algorithm, called wavelet packet manifold (WPM), by addressing the neighborhood preserving embedding (NPE) algorithm of manifold learning on the wavelet packet node energy (WPNE) of seismic signals. By combining non-stationary information and low-dimensional manifold information, WPM provides a more robust representation for seismic target classification. By using a K nearest neighbors classifier on the WPM signature, the algorithm of wavelet packet manifold classification (WPMC) is proposed. Experimental results show that the proposed WPMC can not only reduce feature dimensionality, but also improve the classification accuracy up to 95.03%. This paper presents a wearable device, fitted on the waist of a participant that recognizes six activities of daily living (walking, walking upstairs, walking downstairs, sitting, standing, and laying) through a deep-learning algorithm, human activity recognition (HAR). The wearable device comprises a single-board computer (SBC) and six-axis sensors. The deep-learning algorithm employs three parallel convolutional neural networks for local feature extraction and for subsequent concatenation to establish feature fusion models of varying kernel size. By using kernels of different sizes, relevant local features of varying lengths were identified, thereby increasing the accuracy of human activity recognition. Regarding experimental data, the database of University of California, Irvine (UCI) and self-recorded data were used separately. The self-recorded data were obtained by having 21 participants wear the device on their waist and perform six common activities in the laboratory. These data were used to verify the proposed deep-learning algorithm on the performance of the wearable device. The accuracy of these six activities in the UCI dataset and in the self-recorded data were 97.49% and 96.27%, respectively. The accuracies in tenfold cross-validation were 99.56% and 97.46%, respectively. The experimental results have successfully verified the proposed convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture, which can be used in rehabilitation assessment for people unable to exercise vigorously. For permanent magnet DC motors (PMDCMs), the amplitude of the current signals gradually decreases after the motor starts. Only using the signal features of current in a single segment is not conducive to fault diagnosis for PMDCMs. In this work, multi-segment feature extraction is presented for improving the effect of fault diagnosis of PMDCMs. Additionally, a support vector machine (SVM), a classification and regression tree (CART), and the k-nearest neighbor algorithm (k-NN) are utilized for the construction of fault diagnosis models. The time domain features extracted from several successive segments of current signals make up a feature vector, which is adopted for fault diagnosis of PMDCMs. Experimental results show that multi-segment features have a better diagnostic effect than single-segment features; the average accuracy of fault diagnosis improves by 19.88%. It is important to improve the identification accuracy of the operating status of elevator traction machines. The distribution difference of the time-frequency signals utilized to identify operating circumstances is modest, making it difficult to extract features from the vibration signals of traction machines under various operating conditions, leading to low recognition accuracy. A novel method for identifying the operating status of traction machines based on signal demodulation method and convolutional neural network (CNN) is proposed. The original vibration time-frequency signals are demodulated by the demodulation method based on time-frequency analysis and principal component analysis (DPCA). Firstly, the signal demodulation method based on principal component analysis is used to extract the modulation features of the experimentally measured vibration signals. Then, The CNN is used for feature vector extraction, and the training model is obtained through multiple iterations to achieve automatic recognition of the running state. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively extract feature parameters under different states. The diagnostic accuracy is up to 96.94%, which is about 16.61% higher than conventional methods. It provides a feasible solution for identifying the operating status of elevator traction machines. Safety helmets are essential in various indoor and outdoor workplaces, such as metallurgical high-temperature operations and high-rise building construction, to avoid injuries and ensure safety in production. However, manual supervision is costly and prone to lack of enforcement and interference from other human factors. Moreover, small target object detection frequently lacks precision. Improving safety helmets based on the helmet detection algorithm can address these issues and is a promising approach. In this study, we proposed a modified version of the YOLOv5s network, a lightweight deep learning-based object identification network model. The proposed model extends the YOLOv5s network model and enhances its performance by recalculating the prediction frames, utilizing the IoU metric for clustering, and modifying the anchor frames with the K-means++ method. The global attention mechanism (GAM) and the convolutional block attention module (CBAM) were added to the YOLOv5s network to improve its backbone and neck networks. By minimizing information feature loss and enhancing the representation of global interactions, these attention processes enhance deep learning neural networks' capacity for feature extraction. Furthermore, the CBAM is integrated into the CSP module to improve target feature extraction while minimizing computation for model operation. In order to significantly increase the efficiency and precision of the prediction box regression, the proposed model additionally makes use of the most recent SIoU (SCYLLA-IoU LOSS) as the bounding box loss function. Based on the improved YOLOv5s model, knowledge distillation technology is leveraged to realize the light weight of the network model, thereby reducing the computational workload of the model and improving the detection speed to meet the needs of real-time monitoring. The star tracker is widely used for high-accuracy missions due to its high accuracy position high autonomy and low power consumption. On the other hand, the ability of interference suppression of the star tracker has always been a hot issue of concern. A SLIC-DBSCAN-based algorithm for extracting effective information from a single image with strong interference has been developed in this paper to remove interferences. Firstly, the restricted LC (luminance-based contrast) transformation is utilized to enhance the contrast between background noise and the large-area interference. Then, SLIC (the simple linear iterative clustering) algorithm is adopted to segment the saliency map and in this process, optimized parameters are harnessed. Finally, from these segments, features are extracted and superpixels with similar features are combined by using DBSCAN (density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise). This paper presents a novel weld groove parametrization algorithm, which is developed specifically for weld grooves in typical stub and butt joints between large tubular elements. The procedure is based on random sample consensus (RANSAC) with additionally proposed correction steps, including a corner correction step for grooves with narrow root weld, and an iterative error elimination step for improving the initially obtained data fit. The problem of curved groove sides (due to the pipe geometry) is attributed and solved. In addition, the procedure detects and eliminates several types of data noise due to laser line reflections. The performance of the procedure is studied experimentally using small-scale test objects, which have been ground using typical industrial power tools to achieve a realistic level of reflections. This paper presents a novel self-localization technique for mobile robots using a central catadioptric camera. A unified sphere model for the image projection is derived by the catadioptric camera calibration. The geometric property of the camera projection model is utilized to obtain the intersections of the vertical lines and ground plane in the scene. Different from the conventional stereo vision techniques, the feature points are projected onto a known planar surface, and the plane equation is used for depth computation. The 3D coordinates of the base points on the ground are calculated using the consecutive image frames. The derivation of motion trajectory is then carried out based on the computation of rotation and translation between the robot positions. We develop an algorithm for feature correspondence matching based on the invariability of the structure in the 3D space. Traditional visual simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) systems rely on point features to estimate camera trajectories. However, feature-based systems are usually not robust in complex environments such as weak textures or obvious brightness changes. To solve this problem, we used more environmental structure information by introducing line segments features and designed a monocular visual SLAM system. This system combines points and line segments to effectively make up for the shortcomings of traditional positioning based only on point features. First, ORB algorithm based on local adaptive threshold was proposed. Subsequently, we not only optimized the extracted line features, but also added a screening step before the traditional descriptor matching to combine the point features matching results with the line features matching. Finally, the weighting idea was introduced. When constructing the optimized cost function, we allocated weights reasonably according to the richness and dispersion of features. Our evaluation on publicly available datasets demonstrated that the improved point-line feature method is competitive with the state-of-the-art methods. For early fault detection of a bearing, the localized defect generally brings a complex vibration signal, so it is difficult to detect the periodic transient characteristics from the signal spectrum using conventional bearing fault diagnosis methods. Therefore, many matrix analysis technologies, such as singular value decomposition (SVD) and reweighted SVD (RSVD), were proposed recently to solve this problem. However, such technologies also face failure in bearing fault detection due to the poor interpretability of the obtained eigenvector. Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF), as a part-based representation algorithm, can extract low-rank basis spaces with natural sparsity from the time–frequency representation. It performs excellent interpretability of the factor matrices due to its non-negative constraints. By this virtue, NMF can extract the fault feature by separating the frequency bands of resonance regions from the amplitude spectrogram automatically. In this paper, a new feature extraction method based on sparse kernel NMF (KNMF) was proposed to extract the fault features from the amplitude spectrogram in greater depth. By decomposing the amplitude spectrogram using the kernel-based NMF model with L1 regularization, sparser spectral bases can be obtained. Using KNMF with the linear kernel function, the time–frequency distribution of the vibration signal can be decomposed into a subspace with different frequency bands. Thus, we can extract the fault features, a series of periodic impulses, from the decomposed subspace according to the sparse frequency bands in the spectral bases. As a result, the proposed method shows a very high performance in extracting fault features, which is verified by experimental investigations and benchmarked by the Fast Kurtogram, SVD and NMF-based methods. Using object detection techniques on immature fruits to find out their quantity and position is a crucial step for intelligent orchard management. A yellow peach target detection model (YOLOv7-Peach) based on the improved YOLOv7 was proposed to address the problem of immature yellow peach fruits in natural scenes that are similar in color to the leaves but have small sizes and are easily obscured, leading to low detection accuracy. First, the anchor frame information from the original YOLOv7 model was updated by the K-means clustering algorithm in order to generate anchor frame sizes and proportions suitable for the yellow peach dataset; second, the CA (coordinate attention) module was embedded into the backbone network of YOLOv7 so as to enhance the network's feature extraction for yellow peaches and to improve the detection accuracy; then, we accelerated the regression convergence process of the prediction box by replacing the object detection regression loss function with EIoU. Finally, the head structure of YOLOv7 added the P2 module for shallow downsampling, and the P5 module for deep downsampling was removed, effectively improving the detection of small targets. Experiments showed that the YOLOv7-Peach model had a 3.5% improvement in mAp (mean average precision) over the original one, much higher than that of SSD, Objectbox, and other target detection models in the YOLO series, and achieved better results under different weather conditions and a detection speed of up to 21 fps, suitable for real-time detection of yellow peaches. This method could provide technical support for yield estimation in the intelligent management of yellow peach orchards and also provide ideas for the real-time and accurate detection of small fruits with near background colors. In this paper, a Deep Learning approach is proposed to classify impact data based on the type of impact (Hard or Soft Impacts), via obtaining voltage signals from Piezo-Electric sensors, mounted on a composite panel. The data is processed further to be classified based on their energy, location and material. Minimalistic and Automated feature extraction and selection is achieved via a deep learning algorithm. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) are employed to extract and select important features from the voltage data. Once features are selected the impacts, are classified based on either, Hard Impacts (simulated from steel impactors in a lab setting), Soft Impacts (simulated from silicon impactors in a lab setting) and their corresponding location and energy levels. Furthermore, in order to use the right data for training they are obtained from the signals as anomalies via Isolation Forests (IF) to speed up the process. With the enormous amount of multi-source data produced by various sensors and feature extraction approaches, multi-view clustering (MVC) has attracted developing research attention and is widely exploited in data analysis. Most of the existing multi-view clustering methods hold on the assumption that all of the views are complete. However, in many real scenarios, multi-view data are often incomplete for many reasons, e.g., hardware failure or incomplete data collection. In this paper, we propose an adaptive weighted graph fusion incomplete multi-view subspace clustering (AWGF-IMSC) method to solve the incomplete multi-view clustering problem. Firstly, to eliminate the noise existing in the original space, we transform complete original data into latent representations which contribute to better graph construction for each view. Then, we incorporate feature extraction and incomplete graph fusion into a unified framework, whereas two processes can negotiate with each other, serving for graph learning tasks. A sparse regularization is imposed on the complete graph to make it more robust to the view-inconsistency. Besides, the importance of different views is automatically learned, further guiding the construction of the complete graph. An effective iterative algorithm is proposed to solve the resulting optimization problem with convergence. Compared with the existing state-of-the-art methods, the experiment results on several real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and advancement of our proposed method. This paper proposes a time-frequency algorithm based on short-time fractional order Fourier transformation (STFRFT) for identification of a complicated movement targets. This algorithm, consisting of a STFRFT order-changing and quick selection method, is effective in reducing the computation load. A multi-order STFRFT time-frequency algorithm is also developed that makes use of the time-frequency feature of each micro-Doppler component signal. This algorithm improves the estimation accuracy of time-frequency curve fitting through multi-order matching. Finally, experiment data were used to demonstrate STFRFT's performance in micro-Doppler time-frequency analysis. The results validated the higher estimate accuracy of the proposed algorithm. Recognizing traffic signs is an essential component of intelligent driving systems' environment perception technology. In real-world applications, traffic sign recognition is easily influenced by variables such as light intensity, extreme weather, and distance, which increase the safety risks associated with intelligent vehicles. A Chinese traffic sign detection algorithm based on YOLOv4-tiny is proposed to overcome these challenges. An improved lightweight BECA attention mechanism module was added to the backbone feature extraction network, and an improved dense SPP network was added to the enhanced feature extraction network. A yolo detection layer was added to the detection layer, and k-means++ clustering was used to obtain prior boxes that were better suited for traffic sign detection. The improved algorithm, TSR-YOLO, was tested and assessed with the CCTSDB2021 dataset and showed a detection accuracy of 96.62%, a recall rate of 79.73%, an F-1 Score of 87.37%, and a mAP value of 92.77%, which outperformed the original YOLOv4-tiny network, and its FPS value remained around 81 f/s. Therefore, the proposed method can improve the accuracy of recognizing traffic signs in complex scenarios and can meet the real-time requirements of intelligent vehicles for traffic sign recognition tasks. In recent years, increasing image data comes from various sensors, and object detection plays a vital role in image understanding. For object detection in complex scenes, more detailed information in the image should be obtained to improve the accuracy of detection task. In this paper, we propose an object detection algorithm by jointing semantic segmentation (SSOD) for images. First, we construct a feature extraction network that integrates the hourglass structure network with the attention mechanism layer to extract and fuse multi-scale features to generate high-level features with rich semantic information. Second, the semantic segmentation task is used as an auxiliary task to allow the algorithm to perform multi-task learning. Finally, multi-scale features are used to predict the location and category of the object. The experimental results show that our algorithm substantially enhances object detection performance and consistently outperforms other three comparison algorithms, and the detection speed can reach real-time, which can be used for real-time detection. People with sleep apnea (SA) are at increased risk of having stroke and cardiovascular diseases. Polysomnography (PSG) is used to detect SA. This paper conducts feature selection from PSG signals and uses a support vector machine (SVM) to detect SA. To analyze SA, the Physionet Apnea Database was used to obtain various features. Electrocardiography (ECG), oxygen saturation (SaO2), airflow, abdominal, and thoracic signals were used to provide various frequency-, time-domain and non-linear features (n = 87). To analyse the significance of these features, firstly, two evaluation measures, the rank-sum method and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to evaluate the significance of the features. These features were then classified according to their significance. Finally, different class feature sets were presented as inputs for an SVM classifier to detect the onset of SA. The hill-climbing feature selection algorithm and the k-fold cross-validation method were applied to evaluate each classification performance. Through the experiments, we discovered that the best feature set (including the top-five significant features) obtained the best classification performance. Furthermore, we plotted receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves to examine the performance of the SVM, and the results showed the SVM with Linear kernel (regularization parameter = 1) outperformed other classifiers (area under curve = 95.23%, sensitivity = 94.29%, specificity = 96.17%). The results confirm that feature subsets based on multiple bio-signals have the potential to identify patients with SA. Bearing spall detection and predicting its size are great challenges. Model-based simulation is a well-known traditional approach to physically model the influence of the spall on the bearing. Building a physical model is challenging due to the bearing complexity and the expert knowledge required to build such a model. Obviously, building a partial physical model for some of the spall sizes is easier. In this paper, we propose a machine-learning algorithm, called Probability-Based Forest, that uses a partial physical model. First, the behavior of some of the spall sizes is physically modeled and a simulator based on this model generates scenarios for these spall sizes in different conditions. Then, the machine-learning algorithm trains these scenarios to generate a prediction model of spall sizes even for those that have not been modeled by the physical model. Feature extraction is a key factor in the success of this approach. We extract features using two traditional approaches: statistical and physical, and an additional new approach: Time Series FeatuRe Extraction based on Scalable Hypothesis tests (TSFRESH). Experimental evaluation with well-known physical model shows that our approach achieves high accuracy, even in cases that have not been modeled by the physical model. Underwater images typically suffer from less explicit feature point information and more redundant information due to wild conditions. To solve these degradation problems, we propose the VINS-MONO algorithm to enhance the quality of the underwater image. Specifically, we first used the FAST feature point extraction algorithm to improve the extraction speed. Then, the inverse optical flow method was used to improve the accuracy of feature extraction. At the same time, several kinds of residual information were extracted and marginalized, separately, in the marginalization part of the back-end, in order to improve the marginalization speed. Extensive experiments on underwater dataset HAUD-Dataset and public dataset EuRoC show that our approach is superior to the original VINS-MONO algorithm. Deep learning has become an essential technique in image steganography. Most of the current deep-learning-based steganographic methods process digital images in the spatial domain. There are problems such as limited embedding capacity and unsatisfactory visual quality. To improve capacity-distortion performance, we develop a steganographic method from the frequency-domain perspective. We propose a module called the adaptive frequency-domain channel attention network (AFcaNet), which makes full use of the frequency features in each channel by a fine-grained manner of assigning weights. We apply this module to the state-of-the-art SteganoGAN, forming an Adaptive Frequency High-capacity Steganography Generative Adversarial Network (AFHS-GAN). The proposed neural network enhances the ability of high-dimensional feature extraction through overlaying densely connected convolutional blocks. In addition to this, a low-frequency loss function is introduced as an evaluation metric to guide the training of the network and thus reduces the modification of low-frequency regions of the image. Experimental results on the Div2K dataset show that our method has a better generalization capability compared to the SteganoGAN, with substantial improvement in both embedding capacity and stego-image quality. Furthermore, the embedding distribution of our method in the DCT domain is more similar to that of the traditional method, which is consistent with the prior knowledge of image steganography. The affine scale-invariant feature transform (ASIFT) algorithm is a feature extraction algorithm with affinity and scale invariance, which is suitable for image feature matching using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). However, there are many problems in the matching process, such as the low efficiency and mismatching. In order to improve the matching efficiency, this algorithm firstly simulates image distortion based on the position and orientation system (POS) information from real-time UAV measurements to reduce the number of simulated images. Then, the scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) algorithm is used for feature point detection, and the extracted feature points are combined with the binary robust invariant scalable keypoints (BRISK) descriptor to generate the binary feature descriptor, which is matched using the Hamming distance. Finally, in order to improve the matching accuracy of the UAV images, based on the random sample consensus (RANSAC) a false matching eliminated algorithm is proposed. Traffic sign detection systems provide important road control information for unmanned driving systems or auxiliary driving. In this paper, the Faster region with a convolutional neural network (R-CNN) for traffic sign detection in real traffic situations has been systematically improved. First, a first step region proposal algorithm based on simplified Gabor wavelets (SGWs) and maximally stable extremal regions (MSERs) is proposed. In this way, the region proposal a priori information is obtained and will be used for improving the Faster R-CNN. This part of our method is named as the highly possible regions proposal network (HP-RPN). Second, in order to solve the problem that the Faster R-CNN cannot effectively detect small targets, a method that combines the features of the third, fourth, and fifth layers of VGG16 to enrich the features of small targets is proposed. Third, the secondary region of interest method to enhance the feature of detection objects and improve the classification capability of the Faster R-CNN is proposed. Finally, a method of merging the German traffic sign detection benchmark (GTSDB) and Chinese traffic sign dataset (CTSD) databases into one larger database to increase the number of database samples is proposed. To achieve the full analytical potential of the streaming data from the internet of things, the interconnection of various data sources is needed. By definition, those sources are heterogeneous and their integration is not a trivial task. A common approach to exploit streaming sensor data potential is to use machine learning techniques for predictive analytics in a way that is agnostic to the domain knowledge. Such an approach can be easily integrated in various use cases. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for data fusion of a set of heterogeneous data streams. The proposed framework enriches streaming sensor data with the contextual and historical information relevant for describing the underlying processes. The final result of the framework is a feature vector, ready to be used in a machine learning algorithm. The framework has been applied to a cloud and to an edge device. In the latter case, incremental learning capabilities have been demonstrated. The reported results illustrate a significant improvement of data-driven models, applied to sensor streams. The research field of visual-inertial odometry has entered a mature stage in recent years. However, unneglectable problems still exist. Tradeoffs have to be made between high accuracy and low computation for users. In addition, notation confusion exists in quaternion descriptions of rotation; although not fatal, this may results in unnecessary difficulties in understanding for researchers. In this paper, we develop a visual-inertial odometry which gives consideration to both precision and computation. The proposed algorithm is a filter-based solution that utilizes the framework of the noted multi-state constraint Kalman filter. To dispel notation confusion, we deduced the error state transition equation from scratch, using the more cognitive Hamilton notation of quaternion. We further come up with a fully linear closed-form formulation that is readily implemented. As the filter-based back-end is vulnerable to feature matching outliers, a descriptor-assisted optical flow tracking front-end was developed to cope with the issue. This modification only requires negligible additional computation. In addition, an initialization procedure is implemented, which automatically selects static data to initialize the filter state. Evaluations of proposed methods were done on a public, real-world dataset, and comparisons were made with state-of-the-art solutions. A binocular vision system is a common perception component of an intelligent vehicle. Benefiting from the biomimetic structure, the system is simple and effective. Which are extremely snesitive on external factors, especially missing vision signals. In this paper, a virtual view-generation algorithm based on generative adversarial networks (GAN) is proposed to enhance the robustness of binocular vision systems. The proposed model consists of two parts: generative network and discriminator network. To improve the quality of a virtual view, a generative network structure based on 3D convolutional neural networks (3D-CNN) and attentive mechanisms is introduced to extract the time-series features from image sequences. To avoid gradient vanish during training, the dense block structure is utilized to improve the discriminator network. Meanwhile, three kinds of image features, including image edge, depth map and optical flow are extracted to constrain the supervised training of model. The final results on KITTI and Cityscapes datasets demonstrate that our algorithm outperforms conventional methods, and the missing vision signal can be replaced by a generated virtual view. Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) approaches have achieved a major breakthrough in recent years. This paper presents a new monocular visual odometry algorithm able to localize in 3D a robot or a camera inside an unknown environment in real time, even on slow processors such as those used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or cell phones. The so-called semi-direct visual localization (SDVL) approach is focused on localization accuracy and uses semi-direct methods to increase feature-matching efficiency. It uses inverse-depth 3D point parameterization. The tracking thread includes a motion model, direct image alignment, and optimized feature matching. Additionally, an outlier rejection mechanism (ORM) has been implemented to rule out misplaced features, improving accuracy especially in partially dynamic environments. A relocalization module is also included but keeping the real-time operation. The mapping thread performs an automatic map initialization with homography, a sampled integration of new points and a selective map optimization. This paper presents a modeling approach to feature classification and environment mapping for indoor mobile robotics via a rotary ultrasonic array and fuzzy modeling. To compensate for the distance error detected by the ultrasonic sensor, a novel feature extraction approach termed "minimum distance of point" (MDP) is proposed to determine the accurate distance and location of target objects. A fuzzy model is established to recognize and classify the features of objects such as flat surfaces, corner, and cylinder. An environmental map is constructed for automated robot navigation based on this fuzzy classification, combined with a cluster algorithm and least-squares fitting. Firstly, the platform of the rotary ultrasonic array is established by using four low-cost ultrasonic sensors and a motor. Fundamental measurements, such as the distance of objects at different rotary angles and with different object materials, are carried out. Secondly, the MDP feature extraction algorithm is proposed to extract precise object locations. Compared with the conventional range of constant distance (RCD) method, the MDP method can compensate for errors in feature location and feature matching. With the data clustering algorithm, a range of ultrasonic distances is attained and used as the input dataset. The fuzzy classification model—including rules regarding data fuzzification, reasoning, and defuzzification—is established to effectively recognize and classify the object feature types. Finally, accurate environment mapping of a service robot, based on MDP and fuzzy modeling of the measurements from the ultrasonic array, is demonstrated. It is crucial for robots to autonomously steer in complex environments safely without colliding with any obstacles. Compared to conventional methods, deep reinforcement learning-based methods are able to learn from past experiences automatically and enhance the generalization capability to cope with unseen circumstances. Therefore, we propose an end-to-end deep reinforcement learning algorithm in this paper to improve the performance of autonomous steering in complex environments. By embedding a branching noisy dueling architecture, the proposed model is capable of deriving steering commands directly from raw depth images with high efficiency. Specifically, our learning-based approach extracts the feature representation from depth inputs through convolutional neural networks and maps it to both linear and angular velocity commands simultaneously through different streams of the network. Moreover, the training framework is also meticulously designed to improve the learning efficiency and effectiveness. It is worth noting that the developed system is readily transferable from virtual training scenarios to real-world deployment without any fine-tuning by utilizing depth images. The proposed method is evaluated and compared with a series of baseline methods in various virtual environments. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed model in terms of average reward, learning efficiency, success rate as well as computational time. Hyperspectral image classification is a hot issue in the field of remote sensing. It is possible to achieve high accuracy and strong generalization through a good classification method that is used to process image data. In this paper, an efficient hyperspectral image classification method based on improved Rotation Forest (ROF) is proposed. It is named ROF-KELM. Firstly, Non-negative matrix factorization(NMF) is used to do feature segmentation in order to get more effective data. Secondly, kernel extreme learning machine (KELM) is chosen as base classifier to improve the classification efficiency. The proposed method inherits the advantages of KELM and has an analytic solution to directly implement the multiclass classification. Then, Q-statistic is used to select base classifiers. Finally, the results are obtained by using the voting method. Three simulation examples, classification of AVIRIS image, ROSIS image and the UCI public data sets respectively, are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Unlike optical satellites, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites can operate all day and in all weather conditions, so they have a broad range of applications in the field of ocean monitoring. The ship targets' contour information from SAR images is often unclear, and the background is complicated due to the influence of sea clutter and proximity to land, leading to the accuracy problem of ship monitoring. Compared with traditional methods, deep learning has powerful data processing ability and feature extraction ability, but its complex model and calculations lead to a certain degree of difficulty. To solve this problem, we propose a lightweight YOLOV5-MNE, which significantly improves the training speed and reduces the running memory and number of model parameters and maintains a certain accuracy on a lager dataset. By redesigning the MNEBlock module and using CBR standard convolution to reduce computation, we integrated the CA (coordinate attention) mechanism to ensure better detection performance. The air-door is an important device for adjusting the air flow in a mine. It opens and closes within a short time owing to transportation and other factors. Although the switching sensor alone can identify the air-door opening and closing, it cannot relate it to abnormal fluctuations in the wind speed. Large fluctuations in the wind-velocity sensor data during this time can lead to false alarms. To overcome this problem, we propose a method for identifying air-door opening and closing using a single wind-velocity sensor. A multi-scale sliding window (MSSW) is employed to divide the samples. Then, the data global features and fluctuation features are extracted using statistics and the discrete wavelet transform (DWT). In addition, a machine learning model is adopted to classify each sample. Further, the identification results are selected by merging the classification results using the non-maximum suppression method. Finally, considering the safety accidents caused by the air-door opening and closing in an actual production mine, a large number of experiments were carried out to verify the effect of the algorithm using a simulated tunnel model. The results show that the proposed algorithm exhibits superior performance when the gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT) is selected for classification. In the data set composed of air-door opening and closing experimental data, the accuracy, precision, and recall rates of the air-door opening and closing identification are 91.89%, 93.07%, and 91.07%, respectively. Entire surface point clouds in complex objects cannot be captured in a single direction by using noncontact measurement methods, such as machine vision; therefore, different direction point clouds should be obtained and registered. However, high efficiency and precision are crucial for registration methods when dealing with huge number of point clouds. To solve this problem, an improved registration algorithm based on double threshold feature extraction and distance disparity matrix (DDM) is proposed in this study. Firstly, feature points are extracted with double thresholds using normal vectors and curvature to reduce the number of points. Secondly, a fast point feature histogram is established to describe the feature points and obtain the initial corresponding point pairs. Thirdly, obviously wrong corresponding point pairs are eliminated as much as possible by analysing the Euclidean invariant features of rigid body transformation combined with the DDM algorithm. Iris biometric detection provides contactless authentication, preventing the spread of COVID-19-like contagious diseases. However, these systems are prone to spoofing attacks attempted with the help of contact lenses, replayed video, and print attacks, making them vulnerable and unsafe. This paper proposes the iris liveness detection (ILD) method to mitigate spoofing attacks, taking global-level features of Thepade's sorted block truncation coding (TSBTC) and local-level features of the gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) of the iris image. Thepade's SBTC extracts global color texture content as features, and GLCM extracts local fine-texture details. The fusion of global and local content presentation may help distinguish between live and non-live iris samples. The fusion of Thepade's SBTC with GLCM features is considered in experimental validations of the proposed method. The features are used to train nine assorted machine learning classifiers, including naïve Bayes (NB), decision tree (J48), support vector machine (SVM), random forest (RF), multilayer perceptron (MLP), and ensembles (SVM + RF + NB, SVM + RF + RT, RF + SVM + MLP, J48 + RF + MLP) for ILD. Accuracy, precision, recall, and F-measure are used to evaluate the performance of the projected ILD variants. The experimentation was carried out on four standard benchmark datasets, and our proposed model showed improved results with the feature fusion approach. The proposed fusion approach gave 99.68% accuracy using the RF + J48 + MLP ensemble of classifiers, immediately followed by the RF algorithm, which gave 95.57%. The reliable and cost-effective condition monitoring of the bearings installed in water pumps is a real challenge in the industry. This paper presents a novel strong feature selection and extraction algorithm (SFSEA) to extract fault-related features from the instantaneous power spectrum (IPS). The three features extracted from the IPS using the SFSEA are fed to an extreme gradient boosting (XBG) classifier to reliably detect and classify the minor bearing faults. The experiments performed on a lab-scale test setup demonstrated classification accuracy up to 100%, which is better than the previously reported fault classification accuracies and indicates the effectiveness of the proposed method.
