Given the severe impact of Citrus Huanglongbing on orchard production, accurate detection of the disease is crucial in orchard management. In the natural environments, due to factors such as varying light intensities, mutual occlusion of citrus leaves, the extremely small size of Huanglongbing leaves, and the high similarity between Huanglongbing and other citrus diseases, there remains an issue of low detection accuracy when using existing mainstream object detection models for the detection of citrus Huanglongbing. To address this issue, we propose YOLO-EAF (You Only Look Once–Efficient Asymptotic Fusion), an improved model based on YOLOv8n. Firstly, the Efficient Multi-Scale Attention Module with cross-spatial learning (EMA) is integrated into the backbone feature extraction network to enhance the feature extraction and integration capabilities of the model. Secondly, the adaptive spatial feature fusion (ASFF) module is used to enhance the feature fusion ability of different levels of the model so as to improve the generalization ability of the model. Finally, the focal and efficient intersection over union (Focal–EIOU) is utilized as the loss function, which accelerates the convergence process of the model and improves the regression precision and robustness of the model. In order to verify the performance of the YOLO-EAF method, we tested it on the self-built citrus Huanglongbing image dataset. The experimental results showed that YOLO-EAF achieved an 8.4% higher precision than YOLOv8n on the self-built dataset, reaching 82.7%. The F1-score increased by 3.33% to 77.83%, and the mAP (0.5) increased by 3.3% to 84.7%. Chip pad inspection is of great practical importance for chip alignment inspection and correction. It is one of the key technologies for automated chip inspection in semiconductor manufacturing. When applying deep learning methods for chip pad inspection, the main problem to be solved is how to ensure the accuracy of small target pad detection and, at the same time, achieve a lightweight inspection model. The attention mechanism is widely used to improve the accuracy of small target detection by finding the attention region of the network. However, conventional attention mechanisms capture feature information locally, which makes it difficult to effectively improve the detection efficiency of small targets from complex backgrounds in target detection tasks. In this paper, an OCAM (Object Convolution Attention Module) attention module is proposed to build long-range dependencies between channel features and position features by constructing feature contextual relationships to enhance the correlation between features. By adding the OCAM attention module to the feature extraction layer of the YOLOv5 network, the detection performance of chip pads is effectively improved. In addition, a design guideline for the attention layer is proposed in the paper. The attention layer is adjusted by network scaling to avoid network characterization bottlenecks, balance network parameters, and network detection performance, and reduce the hardware device requirements for the improved YOLOv5 network in practical scenarios. This paper proposes a multimodal fusion 3D target detection algorithm based on the attention mechanism to improve the performance of 3D target detection. The algorithm utilizes point cloud data and information from the camera. For image feature extraction, the ResNet50 + FPN architecture extracts features at four levels. Point cloud feature extraction employs the voxel method and FCN to extract point and voxel features. The fusion of image and point cloud features is achieved through regional point fusion and voxel fusion methods. After information fusion, the Coordinate and SimAM attention mechanisms extract fusion features at a deep level. The algorithm's performance is evaluated using the DAIR-V2X dataset. The results show that compared to the Part-A2 algorithm; the proposed algorithm improves the mAP value by 7.9% in the BEV view and 7.8% in the 3D view at IOU = 0.5 (cars) and IOU = 0.25 (pedestrians and cyclists). At IOU = 0.7 (cars) and IOU = 0.5 (pedestrians and cyclists), the mAP value of the SECOND algorithm is improved by 5.4% in the BEV view and 4.3% in the 3D view, compared to other comparison algorithms. In view of the fact that the aerial images of UAVs are usually taken from a top-down perspective, there are large changes in spatial resolution and small targets to be detected, and the detection method of natural scenes is not effective in detecting under the arbitrary arrangement of remote sensing image direction, which is difficult to apply to the detection demand scenario of road technology status assessment, this paper proposes a lightweight network architecture algorithm based on MobileNetv3-YOLOv5s (MR-YOLO). First, the MobileNetv3 structure is introduced to replace part of the backbone network of YOLOv5s for feature extraction so as to reduce the network model size and computation and improve the detection speed of the target; meanwhile, the CSPNet cross-stage local network is introduced to ensure the accuracy while reducing the computation. The focal loss function is improved to improve the localization accuracy while increasing the speed of the bounding box regression. Finally, by improving the YOLOv5 target detection network from the prior frame design and the bounding box regression formula, the rotation angle method is added to make it suitable for the detection demand scenario of road technology status assessment. After a large number of algorithm comparisons and data ablation experiments, the feasibility of the algorithm was verified on the Xinjiang Altay highway dataset, and the accuracy of the MR-YOLO algorithm was as high as 91.1%, the average accuracy was as high as 92.4%, and the detection speed reached 96.8 FPS. Compared with YOLOv5s, the p-value and mAP values of the proposed algorithm were effectively improved. The casting process involves pouring molten metal into a mold cavity. Currently, traditional object detection algorithms exhibit a low accuracy and are rarely used. An object detection model based on deep learning requires a large amount of memory and poses challenges in the deployment and resource allocation for resource limited pouring robots. To address the accurate identification and localization of pouring holes with limited resources, this paper designs a lightweight pouring robot hole detection algorithm named LPO-YOLOv5s, based on YOLOv5s. First, the MobileNetv3 network is introduced as a feature extraction network, to reduce model complexity and the number of parameters. Second, a depthwise separable information fusion module (DSIFM) is designed, and a lightweight operator called CARAFE is employed for feature upsampling, to enhance the feature extraction capability of the network. Finally, a dynamic head (DyHead) is adopted during the network prediction stage, to improve the detection performance. Extensive experiments were conducted on a pouring hole dataset, to evaluate the proposed method. Compared to YOLOv5s, our LPO-YOLOv5s algorithm reduces the parameter size by 45% and decreases computational costs by 55%, while sacrificing only 0.1% of mean average precision (mAP). The pursuit of higher recognition accuracy and speed with smaller model sizes has been a major research topic in the detection of surface defects in steel. In this paper, we propose an improved high-speed and high-precision Efficient Fusion Coordination network (EFC-YOLO) without increasing the model's size. Since modifications to enhance feature extraction in shallow networks tend to affect the speed of model inference, in order to simultaneously ensure the accuracy and speed of detection, we add the improved Fusion-Faster module to the backbone network of YOLOv7. Partial Convolution (PConv) serves as the basic operator of the module, which strengthens the feature-extraction ability of shallow networks while maintaining speed. Additionally, we incorporate the Shortcut Coordinate Attention (SCA) mechanism to better capture the location information dependency, considering both lightweight design and accuracy. The de-weighted Bi-directional Feature Pyramid Network (BiFPN) structure used in the neck part of the network improves the original Path Aggregation Network (PANet)-like structure by adding step branches and reducing computations, achieving better feature fusion. In the experiments conducted on the NEU-DET dataset, the final model achieved an 85.9% mAP and decreased the GFLOPs by 60%, effectively balancing the model's size with the accuracy and speed of detection. In recent times, the realm of remote sensing has witnessed a remarkable surge in the area of deep learning, specifically in the domain of target recognition within synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. However, prevailing deep learning models have often placed undue emphasis on network depth and width while disregarding the imperative requirement for a harmonious equilibrium between accuracy and speed. To address this concern, this paper presents FCCD-SAR, a SAR target recognition algorithm based on the lightweight FasterNet network. Initially, a lightweight and SAR-specific feature extraction backbone is meticulously crafted to better align with SAR image data. Subsequently, an agile upsampling operator named CARAFE is introduced, augmenting the extraction of scattering information and fortifying target recognition precision. Moreover, the inclusion of a rapid, lightweight module, denoted as C3-Faster, serves to heighten both recognition accuracy and computational efficiency. Finally, in cognizance of the diverse scales and vast variations exhibited by SAR targets, a detection head employing DyHead's attention mechanism is implemented to adeptly capture feature information across multiple scales, elevating recognition performance on SAR targets. To ensure the safe operation of highway traffic lines, given the imperfect feature extraction of existing road pit defect detection models and the practicability of detection equipment, this paper proposes a lightweight target detection algorithm with enhanced feature extraction based on the YOLO (You Only Look Once) algorithm. The BIFPN (Bidirectional Feature Pyramid Network) network structure is used for multi-scale feature fusion to enhance the feature extraction ability, and Varifocal Loss is used to optimize the sample imbalance problem, which improves the accuracy of road defect target detection. In the evaluation test of the model in the constructed PCD1 (Pavement Check Dataset) dataset, the mAP@.5 (mean Average Precision when IoU = 0.5) of the BV-YOLOv5S (BiFPN Varifocal Loss-YOLOv5S) model increased by 4.1%, 3%, and 0.9%, respectively, compared with the YOLOv3-tiny, YOLOv5S, and B-YOLOv5S (BiFPN-YOLOv5S; BV-YOLOv5S does not use the Improved Focal Loss function) models. The counting of surgical instruments is an important task to ensure surgical safety and patient health. However, due to the uncertainty of manual operations, there is a risk of missing or miscounting instruments. Applying computer vision technology to the instrument counting process can not only improve efficiency, but also reduce medical disputes and promote the development of medical informatization. However, during the counting process, surgical instruments may be densely arranged or obstruct each other, and they may be affected by different lighting environments, all of which can affect the accuracy of instrument recognition. In addition, similar instruments may have only minor differences in appearance and shape, which increases the difficulty of identification. To address these issues, this paper improves the YOLOv7x object detection algorithm and applies it to the surgical instrument detection task. First, the RepLK Block module is introduced into the YOLOv7x backbone network, which can increase the effective receptive field and guide the network to learn more shape features. Second, the ODConv structure is introduced into the neck module of the network, which can significantly enhance the feature extraction ability of the basic convolution operation of the CNN and capture more rich contextual information. At the same time, we created the OSI26 data set, which contains 452 images and 26 surgical instruments, for model training and evaluation. The experimental results show that our improved algorithm exhibits higher accuracy and robustness in surgical instrument detection tasks, with F1, AP, AP50, and AP75 reaching 94.7%, 91.5%, 99.1%, and 98.2%, respectively, which are 4.6%, 3.1%, 3.6%, and 3.9% higher than the baseline. Compared to other mainstream object detection algorithms, our method has significant advantages. Traffic sign detection is an important part of environment-aware technology and has great potential in the field of intelligent transportation. In recent years, deep learning has been widely used in the field of traffic sign detection, achieving excellent performance. Due to the complex traffic environment, recognizing and detecting traffic signs is still a challenging project. In this paper, a model with global feature extraction capabilities and a multi-branch lightweight detection head is proposed to increase the detection accuracy of small traffic signs. First, a global feature extraction module is proposed to enhance the ability of extracting features and capturing the correlation within the features through self-attention mechanism. Second, a new, lightweight parallel decoupled detection head is proposed to suppress redundant features and separate the output of the regression task from the classification task. Finally, we employ a series of data enhancements to enrich the context of the dataset and improve the robustness of the network. We conducted a large number of experiments to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The accuracy of the proposed algorithm is 86.3%, the recall is 82.1%, the mAP@0.5 is 86.5% and the mAP@0.5:0.95 is 65.6% in TT100K dataset, while the number of frames transmitted per second is stable at 73, which meets the requirement of real-time detection. This paper proposes a data valuation algorithm for inertial measurement unit-based human activity recognition (IMU-based HAR) data based on meta reinforcement learning. Unlike previous studies that received feature-level input, the algorithm in this study added a feature extraction structure to the data valuation algorithm, and it can receive raw-level inputs and achieve excellent performance. As IMU-based HAR data are multivariate time-series data, the proposed algorithm incorporates an architecture capable of extracting both local and global features by inserting a transformer encoder after the one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) backbone in the data value estimator. In addition, the 1D-CNN-based stacking ensemble structure, which exhibits excellent efficiency and performance on IMU-based HAR data, is used as a predictor to supervise model training. The Berg balance scale (BBS) IMU-based HAR dataset and the public datasets, UCI-HAR, WISDM, and PAMAP2, are used for performance evaluation in this study. The valuation performance of the proposed algorithm is observed to be excellent on IMU-based HAR data. The rate of discovering corrupted data is higher than 96% on all datasets. Indoor 3D positioning is useful in multistory buildings, such as shopping malls, libraries, and airports. This study focuses on indoor 3D positioning using wireless access points (AP) in an environment without adding additional hardware facilities in large-scale complex places. The integration of a deep learning algorithm into indoor 3D positioning is studied, and a 3D dynamic positioning model based on temporal fingerprints is proposed. In contrast to the traditional positioning models with a single input, the proposed method uses a sliding time window to build a temporal fingerprint chip as the input of the positioning model to provide abundant information for positioning. Temporal information can be used to distinguish locations with similar fingerprint vectors and to improve the accuracy and robustness of positioning. Moreover, deep learning has been applied for the automatic extraction of spatiotemporal features. A temporal convolutional network (TCN) feature extractor is proposed in this paper, which adopts a causal convolution mechanism, dilated convolution mechanism, and residual connection mechanism and is not limited by the size of the convolution kernel. It is capable of learning hidden information and spatiotemporal relationships from the input features and the extracted spatiotemporal features are connected with a deep neural network (DNN) regressor to fit the complex nonlinear mapping relationship between the features and position coordinates to estimate the 3D position coordinates of the target. Finally, an open-source public dataset was used to verify the performance of the localization algorithm. Experimental results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed positioning model and a comparison between the proposed model and existing models proved that the proposed model can provide more accurate three-dimensional position coordinates. At present, the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) has been widely used both in civilian and military fields. Most of the current object detection algorithms used to detect UAVs require more parameters, and it is difficult to achieve real-time performance. In order to solve this problem while ensuring a high accuracy rate, we further lighten the model and reduce the number of parameters of the model. This paper proposes an accurate and lightweight UAV detection model based on YOLOv4. To verify the effectiveness of this model, we made a UAV dataset, which contains four types of UAVs and 20,365 images. Through comparative experiments and optimization of existing deep learning and object detection algorithms, we found a lightweight model to achieve an efficient and accurate rapid detection of UAVs. First, from the comparison of the one-stage method and the two-stage method, it is concluded that the one-stage method has better real-time performance and considerable accuracy in detecting UAVs. Then, we further compared the one-stage methods. In particular, for YOLOv4, we replaced MobileNet with its backbone network, modified the feature extraction network, and replaced standard convolution with depth-wise separable convolution, which greatly reduced the parameters and realized 82 FPS and 93.52% mAP while ensuring high accuracy and taking into account the real-time performance. (1) Background: Small objects in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) images are often scattered throughout various regions of the image, such as the corners, and may be blocked by larger objects, as well as susceptible to image noise. Moreover, due to their small size, these objects occupy a limited area in the image, resulting in a scarcity of effective features for detection. (2) Methods: To address the detection of small objects in UAV imagery, we introduce a novel algorithm called High-Resolution Feature Pyramid Network Mamba-Based YOLO (HRMamba-YOLO). This algorithm leverages the strengths of a High-Resolution Network (HRNet), EfficientVMamba, and YOLOv8, integrating a Double Spatial Pyramid Pooling (Double SPP) module, an Efficient Mamba Module (EMM), and a Fusion Mamba Module (FMM) to enhance feature extraction and capture contextual information. Additionally, a new Multi-Scale Feature Fusion Network, High-Resolution Feature Pyramid Network (HRFPN), and FMM improved feature interactions and enhanced the performance of small object detection. (3) Results: For the VisDroneDET dataset, the proposed algorithm achieved a 4.4% higher Mean Average Precision (mAP) compared to YOLOv8-m. The experimental results showed that HRMamba achieved a mAP of 37.1%, surpassing YOLOv8-m by 3.8% (Dota1.5 dataset). For the UCAS_AOD dataset and the DIOR dataset, our model had a mAP 1.5% and 0.3% higher than the YOLOv8-m model, respectively. To be fair, all the models were trained without a pre-trained model. To solve the problems of low accuracy, low real-time performance, poor robustness and others caused by the complex environment, this paper proposes a face mask recognition and standard wear detection algorithm based on the improved YOLO-v4. Firstly, an improved CSPDarkNet53 is introduced into the trunk feature extraction network, which reduces the computing cost of the network and improves the learning ability of the model. Secondly, the adaptive image scaling algorithm can reduce computation and redundancy effectively. Thirdly, the improved PANet structure is introduced so that the network has more semantic information in the feature layer. At last, a face mask detection data set is made according to the standard wearing of masks. Based on the object detection algorithm of deep learning, a variety of evaluation indexes are compared to evaluate the effectiveness of the model. The results of the comparations show that the mAP of face mask recognition can reach 98.3% and the frame rate is high at 54.57 FPS, which are more accurate compared with the exiting algorithm. Deep learning is currently the mainstream method of object detection. Faster region-based convolutional neural network (Faster R-CNN) has a pivotal position in deep learning. It has impressive detection effects in ordinary scenes. However, under special conditions, there can still be unsatisfactory detection performance, such as the object having problems like occlusion, deformation, or small size. This paper proposes a novel and improved algorithm based on the Faster R-CNN framework combined with the Faster R-CNN algorithm with skip pooling and fusion of contextual information. This algorithm can improve the detection performance under special conditions on the basis of Faster R-CNN. The improvement mainly has three parts: The first part adds a context information feature extraction model after the conv5_3 of the convolutional layer; the second part adds skip pooling so that the former can fully obtain the contextual information of the object, especially for situations where the object is occluded and deformed; and the third part replaces the region proposal network (RPN) with a more efficient guided anchor RPN (GA-RPN), which can maintain the recall rate while improving the detection performance. The latter can obtain more detailed information from different feature layers of the deep neural network algorithm, and is especially aimed at scenes with small objects. Compared with Faster R-CNN, you only look once series (such as: YOLOv3), single shot detector (such as: SSD512), and other object detection algorithms, the algorithm proposed in this paper has an average improvement of 6.857% on the mean average precision (mAP) evaluation index while maintaining a certain recall rate. It is important to achieve the 3D reconstruction of UAV remote sensing images in deep learning-based multi-view stereo (MVS) vision. The lack of obvious texture features and detailed edges in UAV remote sensing images leads to inaccurate feature point matching or depth estimation. To address this problem, this study improves the TransMVSNet algorithm in the field of 3D reconstruction by optimizing its feature extraction network and costumed body depth prediction network. The improvement is mainly achieved by extracting features with the Asymptotic Pyramidal Network (AFPN) and assigning weights to different levels of features through the ASFF module to increase the importance of key levels and also using the UNet structured network combined with an attention mechanism to predict the depth information, which also extracts the key area information. It aims to improve the performance and accuracy of the TransMVSNet algorithm's 3D reconstruction of UAV remote sensing images. In this work, we have performed comparative experiments and quantitative evaluation with other algorithms on the DTU dataset as well as on a large UAV remote sensing image dataset. After a large number of experimental studies, it is shown that our improved TransMVSNet algorithm has better performance and robustness, providing a valuable reference for research and application in the field of 3D reconstruction of UAV remote sensing images. For facing of the problems caused by the YOLOv4 algorithm's insensitivity to small objects and low detection precision in traffic light detection and recognition, the Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is investigated in the paper using the shallow feature enhancement mechanism and the bounding box uncertainty prediction mechanism. The shallow feature enhancement mechanism is used to extract features from the network and improve the network's ability to locate small objects and color resolution by merging two shallow features at different stages with the high-level semantic features obtained after two rounds of upsampling. Uncertainty is introduced in the bounding box prediction mechanism to improve the reliability of the prediction of the bounding box by modeling the output coordinates of the prediction bounding box and adding the Gaussian model to calculate the uncertainty of the coordinate information. The LISA traffic light data set is used to perform detection and recognition experiments separately. The Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is shown to have a high effectiveness in enhancing the detection and recognition precision of traffic lights. In the detection experiment, the area under the PR curve value of the Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is found to be 97.58%, which represents an increase of 7.09% in comparison to the 90.49% score gained in the Vision for Intelligent Vehicles and Applications Challenge Competition. In the recognition experiment, the mean average precision of the Improved YOLOv4 algorithm is 82.15%, which is 2.86% higher than that of the original YOLOv4 algorithm. This paper presents a wearable device, fitted on the waist of a participant that recognizes six activities of daily living (walking, walking upstairs, walking downstairs, sitting, standing, and laying) through a deep-learning algorithm, human activity recognition (HAR). The wearable device comprises a single-board computer (SBC) and six-axis sensors. The deep-learning algorithm employs three parallel convolutional neural networks for local feature extraction and for subsequent concatenation to establish feature fusion models of varying kernel size. By using kernels of different sizes, relevant local features of varying lengths were identified, thereby increasing the accuracy of human activity recognition. Regarding experimental data, the database of University of California, Irvine (UCI) and self-recorded data were used separately. The self-recorded data were obtained by having 21 participants wear the device on their waist and perform six common activities in the laboratory. These data were used to verify the proposed deep-learning algorithm on the performance of the wearable device. The accuracy of these six activities in the UCI dataset and in the self-recorded data were 97.49% and 96.27%, respectively. The accuracies in tenfold cross-validation were 99.56% and 97.46%, respectively. In this paper, a Deep Learning approach is proposed to classify impact data based on the type of impact (Hard or Soft Impacts), via obtaining voltage signals from Piezo-Electric sensors, mounted on a composite panel. The data is processed further to be classified based on their energy, location and material. Minimalistic and Automated feature extraction and selection is achieved via a deep learning algorithm. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) are employed to extract and select important features from the voltage data. Once features are selected the impacts, are classified based on either, Hard Impacts (simulated from steel impactors in a lab setting), Soft Impacts (simulated from silicon impactors in a lab setting) and their corresponding location and energy levels. Furthermore, in order to use the right data for training they are obtained from the signals as anomalies via Isolation Forests (IF) to speed up the process. Deep learning has become an essential technique in image steganography. Most of the current deep-learning-based steganographic methods process digital images in the spatial domain. There are problems such as limited embedding capacity and unsatisfactory visual quality. To improve capacity-distortion performance, we develop a steganographic method from the frequency-domain perspective. We propose a module called the adaptive frequency-domain channel attention network (AFcaNet), which makes full use of the frequency features in each channel by a fine-grained manner of assigning weights. We apply this module to the state-of-the-art SteganoGAN, forming an Adaptive Frequency High-capacity Steganography Generative Adversarial Network (AFHS-GAN). The proposed neural network enhances the ability of high-dimensional feature extraction through overlaying densely connected convolutional blocks. In addition to this, a low-frequency loss function is introduced as an evaluation metric to guide the training of the network and thus reduces the modification of low-frequency regions of the image. Experimental results on the Div2K dataset show that our method has a better generalization capability compared to the SteganoGAN, with substantial improvement in both embedding capacity and stego-image quality. Furthermore, the embedding distribution of our method in the DCT domain is more similar to that of the traditional method, which is consistent with the prior knowledge of image steganography. It is crucial for robots to autonomously steer in complex environments safely without colliding with any obstacles. Compared to conventional methods, deep reinforcement learning-based methods are able to learn from past experiences automatically and enhance the generalization capability to cope with unseen circumstances. Therefore, we propose an end-to-end deep reinforcement learning algorithm in this paper to improve the performance of autonomous steering in complex environments. By embedding a branching noisy dueling architecture, the proposed model is capable of deriving steering commands directly from raw depth images with high efficiency. Specifically, our learning-based approach extracts the feature representation from depth inputs through convolutional neural networks and maps it to both linear and angular velocity commands simultaneously through different streams of the network. Moreover, the training framework is also meticulously designed to improve the learning efficiency and effectiveness. It is worth noting that the developed system is readily transferable from virtual training scenarios to real-world deployment without any fine-tuning by utilizing depth images. The proposed method is evaluated and compared with a series of baseline methods in various virtual environments. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed model in terms of average reward, learning efficiency, success rate as well as computational time. Unlike optical satellites, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites can operate all day and in all weather conditions, so they have a broad range of applications in the field of ocean monitoring. The ship targets' contour information from SAR images is often unclear, and the background is complicated due to the influence of sea clutter and proximity to land, leading to the accuracy problem of ship monitoring. Compared with traditional methods, deep learning has powerful data processing ability and feature extraction ability, but its complex model and calculations lead to a certain degree of difficulty. To solve this problem, we propose a lightweight YOLOV5-MNE, which significantly improves the training speed and reduces the running memory and number of model parameters and maintains a certain accuracy on a lager dataset. By redesigning the MNEBlock module and using CBR standard convolution to reduce computation, we integrated the CA (coordinate attention) mechanism to ensure better detection performance. In view of the poor performance of traditional feature point detection methods in low-texture situations, we design a new self-supervised feature extraction network that can be applied to the visual odometer (VO) front-end feature extraction module based on the deep learning method. First, the network uses the feature pyramid structure to perform multi-scale feature fusion to obtain a feature map containing multi-scale information. Then, the feature map is passed through the position attention module and the channel attention module to obtain the feature dependency relationship of the spatial dimension and the channel dimension, respectively, and the weighted spatial feature map and the channel feature map are added element by element to enhance the feature representation. Finally, the weighted feature maps are trained for detectors and descriptors respectively. In addition, in order to improve the prediction accuracy of feature point locations and speed up the network convergence, we add a confidence loss term and a tolerance loss term to the loss functions of the detector and descriptor, respectively. Developing cyber security is very necessary and has attracted considerable attention from academy and industry organizations worldwide. It is also very necessary to provide sustainable computing for the the Internet of Things (IoT). Machine learning techniques play a vital role in the cybersecurity of the IoT for intrusion detection and malicious identification. Thus, in this study, we develop new feature extraction and selection methods and for the IDS system using the advantages of the swarm intelligence (SI) algorithms. We design a feature extraction mechanism depending on the conventional neural networks (CNN). After that, we present an alternative feature selection (FS) approach using the recently developed SI algorithm, Aquila optimizer (AQU). Moreover, to assess the quality of the developed IDS approach, four well-known public datasets, CIC2017, NSL-KDD, BoT-IoT, and KDD99, were used. We also considered extensive comparisons to other optimization methods to verify the competitive performance of the developed method. Recently, deep learning approaches, especially convolutional neural networks (CNNs), have attracted extensive attention in iris recognition. Though CNN-based approaches realize automatic feature extraction and achieve outstanding performance, they usually require more training samples and higher computational complexity than the classic methods. This work focuses on training a novel condensed 2-channel (2-ch) CNN with few training samples for efficient and accurate iris identification and verification. A multi-branch CNN with three well-designed online augmentation schemes and radial attention layers is first proposed as a high-performance basic iris classifier. Then, both branch pruning and channel pruning are achieved by analyzing the weight distribution of the model. Finally, fast finetuning is optionally applied, which can significantly improve the performance of the pruned CNN while alleviating the computational burden. In addition, we further investigate the encoding ability of 2-ch CNN and propose an efficient iris recognition scheme suitable for large database application scenarios. Moreover, the gradient-based analysis results indicate that the proposed algorithm is robust to various image contaminations. In human emotion estimation using an electroencephalogram (EEG) and heart rate variability (HRV), there are two main issues as far as we know. The first is that measurement devices for physiological signals are expensive and not easy to wear. The second is that unnecessary physiological indexes have not been removed, which is likely to decrease the accuracy of machine learning models. In this study, we used single-channel EEG sensor and photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor, which are inexpensive and easy to wear. We collected data from 25 participants (18 males and 7 females) and used a deep learning algorithm to construct an emotion classification model based on Arousal–Valence space using several feature combinations obtained from physiological indexes selected based on our criteria including our proposed feature selection methods. We then performed accuracy verification, applying a stratified 10-fold cross-validation method to the constructed models. The results showed that model accuracies are as high as 90% to 99% by applying the features selection methods we proposed, which suggests that a small number of physiological indexes, even from inexpensive sensors, can be used to construct an accurate emotion classification model if an appropriate feature selection method is applied. Our research results contribute to the improvement of an emotion classification model with a higher accuracy, less cost, and that is less time consuming, which has the potential to be further applied to various areas of applications.
