Due to the demand for safety and convenience in traveling, self-driving technology has developed very fast in the past decades. In this paper, a novel technology forecasting model is developed. The topic-based text mining and expert judgment approaches are combined to forecast the technology trends efficiently and accurately. To improve the reliability of the results, multidimensional information including scientific papers, patents, and industry data is considered. Then, the model is utilized to forecast the development trends of self-driving technology in China. Data ranging from 2002 to 2019 are adopted with proper data cleaning. Topic clustering for papers and patents is performed, and the hierarchical structures are constructed. On this basis, the results of technology's evolution based on papers and patents are compared and the development trends are obtained. With these results, it is speculated that technology on "Decision" will be the next hotspot in patents. In the field of risk assessment, the traditional econometric models are generally used to assess credit risk. And with the introduction of the "dual-carbon" goals to promote the development of a low-carbon economy, the scale of green credit in China has rapidly expanded. But with the advent of the big data era, due to the poor interpretability of a traditional single machine learning model, it is difficult to capture nonlinear relationships, and there are shortcomings in prediction accuracy and robustness. This paper selects the adjusted ensemble learning model based on the homogeneous and heterogeneous factors for user default prediction, which can efficiently process large quantities of high-dimensional data. This article adjusts each model to adapt to the task and innovatively compares various models. In this paper, the missing value filling method, feature selection, and ensemble model are studied and discussed, and the optimal ensemble model is obtained. When comparing the predictions of single models and ensemble models, the accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, F1-Score, Kappa, and MCC of Categorical Features Gradient Boosting (CatBoost) and Random undersampling Boosting (RUSBoost) all reach 100%. The experimental results prove that the algorithm based on adjusted homogeneous and heterogeneous ensemble learning can predict the user default efficiently and accurately. Short-term power load forecasting is of great significance for the reliable and safe operation of power systems. In order to improve the accuracy of short-term load forecasting, for the problems of random fluctuation in load and the complexity of load-influencing factors, this paper proposes a two-stage short-term load forecasting method, SSA–VMD-LSTM-MLR-FE (SVLM–FE) based on sparrow search algorithm (SSA), to optimize variational mode decomposition (VMD) and feature engineering (FE). Firstly, an evaluation criterion on the loss of VMD decomposition is proposed, and SSA is used to find the optimal combination of parameters for VMD under this criterion. Secondly, the first stage of forecasting is carried out, and the different components obtained from SSA–VMD are predicted separately, with the high-frequency components input to a long short-term memory network (LSTM) for forecasting and the low-frequency components input to a multiple linear regression model (MLR) for forecasting. Finally, the forecasting values of the components obtained in the first stage are input to the second stage for error correction; factors with a high degree of influence on the load are selected using the Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC) and maximal information coefficient (MIC), and the load value at the moment that has a great influence on the load value at the time to be predicted is selected using autocorrelation function (ACF). The forecasting values of the components are fused with the selected feature values to construct a vector, which is fed into the fully connected layer for forecasting. In this paper, the performance of SVLM–FE is evaluated experimentally on two datasets from two places in China. In Place 1, the RMSE, MAE, and MAPE are 128.169 MW, 102.525 MW, and 1.562%, respectively; in Place 2, the RMSE, MAE, and MAPE are 111.636 MW, 92.291 MW, and 1.426%, respectively. The stability of agricultural futures market is of great significance to social economy and agri-cultural development. In view of the complexity of the fluctuation of agricultural futures prices, it is challenging to make up for the shortcomings of the existing data preprocessing technology so as to improve the prediction accuracy of the model. This paper puts forward a new VMDSGMD-LSTM model based on improved quadratic decomposition technology and artificial intelligence model. First of all, in the data preprocessing part, VMD is used to decompose the original futures price data, and SGMD is used to further process the remaining components. Secondly, the LSTM model is used to predict a series of modal components, and the final result is obtained by synthesizing the predicted values of different components. Furthermore, based on the futures trading data of wheat, corn and sugar in China agricultural futures market, this paper makes an empirical study in the 1-step, 2-step and 4-step ahead forecasting scenarios, respectively. The results show that compared with other benchmark models, the VMD-SGMD-LSTM hybrid model proposed in this paper has better forecasting ability and robustness for different agricultural futures, which effectively makes up for the shortcomings of existing research. Under the path of sustainable development, the key to achieving green and low-carbon transformation lies in green technology innovation (GTI), and how to effectively coordinate the relationship between green finance (GF) and GTI is an issue worth studying. This paper constructed an evaluation system of GF and GTI and combined them with the coupled coordination degree model to explore their coordination of Chinese provinces from 2012 to 2019. Then, the core network evolution and spatial structure characteristics of GTI and GF were studied using the modified gravity model. Finally, based on the link prediction, the general future network prediction is made to provide guidance and direction for the future GTI and GF development and construction. The results found that the coordination level between GF and GTI has been continuously improved from 0.356 to 0.436. The core network structure is keeping changing with their connection becoming more complex, and there is still room for optimization. Network centrality characteristics show that the spatial spillover effects are stronger in the more economically developed regions. The overall network possibility prediction shows the potential network connections in different urban agglomerations. The complex characteristics of volatility and non-linearity of carbon price pose a serious challenge to accurately predict carbon price. Therefore, this study proposes a new hybrid model for multivariate carbon price forecasting, including feature selection, deep learning, intelligent optimization algorithms, model combination and evaluation indicators. First, this study collects and organizes the historical carbon price series of Hubei and Shanghai as well as the influencing factors in five dimensions including structured and unstructured data, totaling twenty variables. Second, data dimensionality reduction is performed and input variables are obtained using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator, followed by the introduction of nine advanced deep learning models to predict carbon price and compare the prediction effects. Then, through the combination of models, three models with the best performance are combined with Pelican optimization algorithm to construct a hybrid forecasting model. Finally, the experimental results show that the developed forecasting model outperforms other comparation models in terms of prediction accuracy, stability and statistical hypothesis testing, and exhibits excellent prediction performance. Furthermore, this study also applies the developed model to European carbon market price prediction and uses the Hubei carbon market as an example for quantitative trading simulation, and the empirical results further verify its robust prediction performance and investment application value. Air pollution has a significant global impact on natural resources and public health. Accurate prediction of air pollution is crucial for effective prevention and control measures. However, due to regional variations, different cities may have varying primary pollutants, posing new challenges for accurate prediction. In this paper, we propose a novel method called FP-RF, which integrates clustering algorithms to categorize multiple cities according to their air quality index values. Subsequently, we apply functional principal component analysis to extract the primary components of air pollution within each cluster. Furthermore, an enhanced random forest algorithm is utilized to predict air quality grades for each city. We conduct experimental evaluations using authentic historical data from Anhui Province spanning from 2018 to 2023. The results unequivocally establish the effectiveness of our model, with an average accuracy rate of 98.6% in forecasting six pollution grades and 96.04% accuracy in predicting 16 prefecture-level cities, surpassing performance compared to other baseline models., (© 2024. Accurate short-term load forecasting is the key to ensuring smooth and efficient power system operation and power market dispatch planning. However, the nonlinear, non-stationary, and time series nature of load sequences makes load forecasting difficult. To address these problems, this paper proposes a short-term load forecasting method (EPT-VMD-TCN-TPA) based on the hybrid decomposition of load sequences, which combines ensemble patch transform (EPT), variational modal decomposition (VMD), a temporal convolutional network (TCN), and a temporal pattern attention mechanism (TPA). In which, the trend component (Tr(t)) and the residual fluctuation component (Re(t)) of the load series are extracted using EPT, and then the Re(t) component is decomposed into intrinsic modal function components (IMFs) of different frequencies using VMD. The Tr(t) and IMFs components of the fused meteorological data are predicted separately by the TCN-TPA prediction model, and finally, the prediction results of each component are reconstructed and superimposed to obtain the final predicted value of the load. In addition, experiments after reconstructing each IMF component according to the fuzzy entropy (FE) values are discussed in this paper. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method in this paper, we used datasets from two Areas of the 9th Mathematical Modeling Contest in China. The experimental results show that the predictive precision of the EPT-VMD-TCN-TPA model outperforms other comparative models. With the development of civil aviation in China, airspace congestion has become more and more serious and has gradually spread from airport terminal areas to en route networks. Traditionally, most prediction methods that obtain traffic flow data are based on the number of aircraft passing through an en route sector and require flight data to meet strict assumptions and conditions. While these methods are normally used in the actual operation of air traffic flow management departments in China, the results are not satisfactory due to the nonlinearity of traffic demand along en route sectors and the change in high-frequency noise. In order to refine aircraft control in airspace, it is necessary to predict traffic flow accurately. Thus, this paper proposes the quantile regression neural network and kernel density estimation method to obtain some quantiles of continuous traffic demand data in the future, which combines the strong nonlinear adaptive ability of neural networks with the ability of quantile regression to describe explanatory variables. By using these continuous conditional quantiles, we obtain the probability density function and probability density curve of the continuous traffic demand in the future using the kernel density estimation method. In this way, we can obtain not only a specific point prediction value and its change interval but also the probability of each value in the prediction change interval of traffic demand in the en route sector as well as a more accurate point prediction value for a specific day. In this paper, we introduce the mixed-frequency data model (MIDAS) to China's insurance demand forecasting. We select the monthly indicators Consumer Confidence Index (CCI), China Economic Policy Uncertainty Index (EPU), Consumer Price Index (PPI), and quarterly indicator Depth of Insurance (TID) to construct a Mixed Data Sampling (MIDAS) regression model, which is used to study the impact and forecasting effect of CCI, EPU, and PPI on China's insurance demand. To ensure forecasting accuracy, we investigate the forecasting effects of the MIDAS models with different weighting functions, forecasting windows, and a combination of forecasting methods, and use the selected optimal MIDAS models to forecast the short-term insurance demand in China. The experimental results show that the MIDAS model has good forecasting performance, especially in short-term forecasting. Rolling window and recursive identification prediction can improve the prediction accuracy, and the combination prediction makes the results more robust. Consumer confidence is the main factor influencing the demand for insurance during the COVID-19 period, and the demand for insurance is most sensitive to changes in consumer confidence. Shortly, China's insurance demand is expected to return to the pre-COVID-19 level by 2023Q2, showing positive development. In this paper, the Integrated Nested Laplace Algorithm (INLA) is applied to the Epidemic Type Aftershock Sequence (ETAS) model, and the parameters of the ETAS model are obtained for the earthquake sequences active in different regions of Xinjiang. By analyzing the characteristics of the model parameters over time, the changes in each earthquake sequence are studied in more detail. The estimated values of the ETAS model parameters are used as inputs to forecast strong aftershocks in the next period. We find that there are significant differences in the aftershock triggering capacity and aftershock attenuation capacity of earthquake sequences in different seismic regions of Xinjiang. With different cutoff dates set, we observe the characteristics of the earthquake sequence parameters changing with time after the mainshock occurs, and the model parameters of the Ms7.3 earthquake sequence in Hotan region change significantly with time within 15 days after the earthquake. This paper proposes a new post-processing method for model data in order to improve typhoon track and rainfall forecasts. The model data used in the article include low-resolution ensemble forecasts and high-resolution forecasts. The entire improvement method contains the following three steps. The first step is to correct the typhoon track forecast: three ensemble member optimization methods are applied to the low-resolution ensemble forecasts, and then the best optimization method is selected with the principle of the smallest average distance error. The results of rainfall forecasts show that the corrected rainfall forecast performs better than the original forecasts. The second step is to derive the high-resolution probability rainfall forecast: the neighborhood method is applied to the deterministic high-resolution rainfall forecast. The last step is to correct the typhoon rainfall forecast: the low- and high-resolution forecasts are blended using the probability-matching method with two different schemes. The results show that the forecasts of the two schemes perform better than the original forecast under all rainfall thresholds and all forecast lead times. In terms of bias score, a rain forecast from one scheme corrects the rainfall deviation from observation better for light and moderate rainfall, whereas a rain forecast from another scheme corrects the rainfall deviation better for heavy and torrential rainfall. The accurate calculation of mining-induced surface deformation has important guiding significance for efficient and safe production in mining areas. The probability integral method (PIM) is a main prediction method in China, and the selection of its parameters is directly related to the prediction accuracy of surface deformation in mining areas. To overcome shortcomings of PIM and other methods, this paper proposed a prediction model of the parameters of PIM combining a multiple regression model and an extreme learning machine. In this paper, the Huainan mining area was selected as the research object, the influence factors of PIM parameters were analyzed and the accuracy of the model was verified. The influence of the number of hidden layer nodes, the selection of activation function and the proportion of training set and test set in the model were analyzed. The conclusions suggest that the PIM parameters calculated in this paper could be used to predict mining subsidence and obtain surface movement and deformation data. Electricity load forecasting is one of the important tasks of the power marketing department, and accurate load forecasting is extremely important to ensure real-time dispatch and security of the power system. In order to obtain accurate and reliable load forecasting results, an ultra-short-term power load forecasting model based on an improved random forest regression algorithm is proposed in this paper. First, data pre-processing is performed on the original dataset. Then the pre-processed time data and historical load data are used as inputs to the model, and optimization of the model using the Gaussian mixture-based tree-structured Parzen estimator algorithm is carried out. Finally, the final prediction results were derived. Experimental analysis was conducted with real load data from a region of China, and the experimental results show that the method has better prediction accuracy than the original random forest algorithm and other traditional machine learning algorithms. Crude oil has dual attributes of finance and energy. Its price fluctuation significantly impacts global economic development and financial market stability. Therefore, it is necessary to predict crude oil futures prices. In this paper, a hybrid forecast model of EEMD-CNN-ILSTM for crude oil futures price is proposed, which is based on Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), and Improved Long Short-Term Memory (ILSTM). ILSTM improves the output gate of Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and adds important hidden state information based on the original output. In addition, ILSTM adds the learning of cell state at the previous time in the forget gate and input gate, which makes the model learn more fully from historical data. EEMD decomposes time series data into a residual sequence and multiple Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMF). Then, the IMF components are reconstructed into three sub-sequences of high-frequency, middle-frequency, and low-frequency, which are convenient for CNN to extract the input data's features effectively. The forecast accuracy of ILSTM is improved efficiently by learning historical data. This paper uses the daily crude oil futures data of the Shanghai Energy Exchange in China as the experimental data set. The EEMD-CNN-ILSTM is compared with seven prediction models: Support Vector Regression (SVR), Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), LSTM, ILSTM, CNN-LSTM, CNN-ILSTM, and EEMD-CNN-LSTM. Since the reform and opening up, China's economy has developed rapidly, becoming the second largest economy in the world. The state of macroeconomic development has a great influence on the government's policy introduction and the investment decisions of individual institutions. Therefore, forecasting the macroeconomy is of great significance to the country. This paper aims to study the macroeconomic forecasting model system based on digital information and blockchain technology. This paper proposes an artificial neural network prediction algorithm based on digital information and blockchain technology, and the artificial neural network and particle swarm algorithm are combined to become the hybrid artificial neural network algorithm, and the conception of the establishment of the macroeconomic forecast model is proposed. The experimental results of this paper show that according to the prediction results of artificial neural network, the prediction and actual error in 2010 is 0.10, while the new method proposed in this paper predicts the error of 0.056. In 2016, the prediction error based on artificial neural network was 0.14, while the prediction result of the new method proposed in this paper showed an error of 0.008. In each year's economic forecast, the neural network model of the new method proposed in this paper has higher prediction accuracy and smaller error. In order to defraud state subsidies, some unscrupulous users use improper means to steal photovoltaic (PV) power. This behavior brings potential safety hazards to photovoltaic grid-connected operations. In this paper, a photovoltaic power-stealing identification method based on similar-day clustering and interval prediction of the quantile regression model for long short-term memory neural network (QRLSTM) is proposed. First, photovoltaic data are clustered into three similar days by the similar-day clustering according to weather conditions. Second, compared with the quantile regression neural network (QRNN) prediction method, the good prediction performance of the QRLSTM method is illustrated. Third, using the prediction intervals with different confidence levels on three similar days, according to the time scale (short-term, medium-term and long-term) combined with different electricity-stealing judgment indicators, a three-layer photovoltaic power-stealing screening framework is constructed, and the degree of user power stealing is qualitatively analyzed. Last, the power generation data of eight photovoltaic users in a certain region of northwest China and the data of four groups of artificially constructed power-stealing users are used as an example for simulation. Featured Application: Helping telecom companies retain those with a tendency toward number portability. In 2019, China introduced a policy on Number Portability Management, which has resulted in a rapid increase in the number of lost users among telecom companies. Telecom companies must urgently distinguish those with a tendency toward number portability. However, existing prediction research lacks the input of temporal variations in user data and the graph-based analysis of user relationship characteristics, resulting in a poor prediction effect. In this paper, a neural-network-based approach has been applied to address the limitation, whereby user data do not feature temporal variation. Furthermore, innovative approaches have been proposed to construct multilayer community networks through users' geographic attributes and to analyze community networks with a network embedding method based on the matrix factorization framework. This fills a gap in existing research areas, whereby the geographic attributes of users have not received much attention. Considering the extensive inputs and multiple features of the predicted attributes, in this paper, the strengths and weaknesses of three feature selection methods are compared, as well as the prediction accuracy of each of the five prediction models. Finally, the embedded feature selection method, deep neural network model, and the Light GBM model are shown to provide better results. After introducing the user community network, it was found that the prediction evaluation indicators of both the deep neural network model and the Light GBM model are improved. Due to the timeliness and short life cycle of news, the postrelease prediction is limited, and the prerelease prediction also faces huge challenges due to the diversity and difficulty of defining influencing factors. This paper uses the foreclosure. This paper proposes a news popularity prediction method based on GRU deep neural network. Firstly, a web crawler was designed to obtain news data of different types and structures from 10 information security portal websites in China. After data preprocessing, the Word2Vec method was used to extract features, extract key news sentences and construct a subset of content features. Establish a GRU neural network regression prediction model to predict hot news on the Internet. The experimental results show that, compared with the traditional processing method, the model can process the multi-source rough data set in this paper and greatly reduce the prediction error. At the same time, because the threshold recurrent unit structure used in this paper is simpler than the long-short-term memory network structure, it can shorten the prediction time and improve the computing performance. Intelligent computing is transforming safety inspection methods and response strategies in coal mines. Due to the significant safety hazards associated with mining excavation, this study proposes a multi-source data based predictive model for assessing gas risk and implementing countermeasures. By examining the patterns of gas dispersion at the longwall face, utilizing both temporal and spatial correlation, a predictive model is crafted that incorporates safety thresholds for gas concentrations, four-level early warning method and response strategy are devised by integrating weighted predictive confidence with these correlations. Initially tested using a public dataset from Poland, this method was later verified in coal mine in China. This paper discusses the validity and correlation of multi-source monitoring data in temporal and spatial correlation and proposes a risk warning mechanism based on it, which can be applied not only for safety warning but also for regulatory management. This paper aims to address the problems of safety and durability in China's ballastless track structures, particularly the lack of accurate analysis and methods for predicting the reliability of the new type of prefabricated track structure during the design phase. We propose a reliability prediction method for a new prefabricated track structure, the modular assembled track structure with built-in position retention. By adopting the fuzzy Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (fuzzy FMECA) method, a comprehensive assessment of fault severity, fault occurrence probability, and fault detection difficulty is conducted on the CRTS II slab track structure and the modular assembled track structure with built-in position retention. Consequently, a fault mode hazard assessment model for the new prefabricated track structure is constructed. Based on the assessment model and using a similar product method, a reliability prediction model for the new prefabricated track structure is established, and reliability prediction for the track structure is conducted. The research results indicate that the modular assembled track structure with built-in position retention has lower hazard levels and higher reliability compared to the CRTS II slab track structure. This study provides a scientific basis for the design optimization of new prefabricated track structures, helping to improve their safety and reliability, reduce operating and maintenance costs, and thereby promote the green and low-carbon development of the railway. The complexity in stock index futures markets, influenced by the intricate interplay of human behavior, is characterized as nonlinearity and dynamism, contributing to significant uncertainty in long-term price forecasting. While machine learning models have demonstrated their efficacy in stock price forecasting, they rely solely on historical price data, which, given the inherent volatility and dynamic nature of financial markets, are insufficient to address the complexity and uncertainty in long-term forecasting due to the limited connection between historical and forecasting prices. This paper introduces a pioneering approach that integrates financial theory with advanced deep learning methods to enhance predictive accuracy and risk management in China's stock index futures market. The SF-Transformer model, combining spot-forward parity and the Transformer model, is proposed to improve forecasting accuracy across short and long-term horizons. Formulated upon the arbitrage-free futures pricing model, the spot-forward parity model offers variables such as stock index price, risk-free rate, and stock index dividend yield for forecasting. Our insight is that the mutual information generated by these variables has the potential to significantly reduce uncertainty in long-term forecasting. A case study on predicting major stock index futures prices in China demonstrates the superiority of the SF-Transformer model over models based on LSTM, MLP, and the stock index futures arbitrage-free pricing model, covering both short and long-term forecasting up to 28 days. Unlike existing machine learning models, the Transformer processes entire time series concurrently, leveraging its attention mechanism to discern intricate dependencies and capture long-range relationships, thereby offering a holistic understanding of time series data. An enhancement of mutual information is observed after introducing spot-forward parity in the forecasting. The variation of mutual information and ablation study results highlights the significant contributions of spot-forward parity, particularly to the long-term forecasting. Overall, these findings highlight the SF-Transformer model's efficacy in leveraging spot-forward parity for reducing uncertainty and advancing robust and comprehensive approaches in long-term stock index futures price forecasting. There is a significant time lag in the process of sectoral interactions, thus, it is necessary to identify the sectoral carbon emissions in time series. This paper calculates the time lag of sectoral carbon emissions of China's industrial sectors and constructs the monthly consumption data of sectors of 24 months, then simulates the monthly carbon emissions in the year 2022, the results are as follows: The terminal manufacturing industries receive carbon emissions from many sectors, and the energy supply industry generates carbon inflows to all sectors. Due to the time lag effect, some of the carbon emissions generated in the current period come from carbon accumulation in the previous periods. There are great differences in the time lag of sectoral carbon emissions, the carbon emissions of the energy supply industry are concentrated in the early stage while the time lag of the communication equipment manufacturing industry is long. Sectors show differences of carbon emissions in time series due to their different final consumption. Using a natural experiment mandatorily requiring listed firms to disclose R&D activities in the context of China, this paper quantifies the effects of such mandatory disclosure on analyst forecasts, and show that mandatory R&D disclosure significantly decreases analyst forecast accuracy and increases the dispersion of analyst forecasts. Then, we present the underlying mechanisms driving our findings: the ability of analysts and detailed R&D information. Finally, our results are more pronounced in state-owned enterprises and industries with little competition. We show the economic significance of mandatory R&D information disclosure on capital markets. Numerical weather prediction (NWP), when accessible, is a crucial input to short-term solar power forecasting. WRF-Solar, the first NWP model specifically designed for solar energy applications, has shown promising predictive capability. Nevertheless, few attempts have been made to investigate its performance under high aerosol loading, which attenuates incoming radiation significantly. The North China Plain is a polluted region due to industrialization, which constitutes a proper testbed for such investigation. In this paper, aerosol direct radiative effect (DRE) on three surface shortwave radiation components (i.e., global, beam, and diffuse) during five heavy pollution episodes is studied within the WRF-Solar framework. Results show that WRF-Solar overestimates instantaneous beam radiation up to 795.3 W m−2 when the aerosol DRE is not considered. Although such overestimation can be partially offset by an underestimation of the diffuse radiation of about 194.5 W m−2, the overestimation of the global radiation still reaches 160.2 W m−2. This undesirable bias can be reduced when WRF-Solar is powered by Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) aerosol forecasts, which then translates to accuracy improvements in photovoltaic (PV) power forecasts. This work also compares the forecast performance of the CAMS-powered WRF-Solar with that of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts model. Under high aerosol loading conditions, the irradiance forecast accuracy generated by WRF-Solar increased by 53.2% and the PV power forecast accuracy increased by 6.8%. Significance Statement: Numerical weather prediction (NWP) is the "go-to" approach for achieving high-performance day-ahead solar power forecasting. Integrating time-varying aerosol forecasts into NWP models effectively captures aerosol direct radiation effects, thereby enhancing the accuracy of solar irradiance forecasts in heavily polluted regions. This work not only quantifies the aerosol effects on global, beam, and diffuse irradiance but also reveals the physical mechanisms of irradiance-to-power conversion by constructing a model chain. Accurate short-term electrical load forecasting is crucial for the stable operation of power systems. Given the nonlinear, periodic, and rapidly changing characteristics of short-term power load forecasts, this paper introduces a novel forecasting method employing an Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) enhanced by an improved Dwarf Mongoose Optimization Algorithm (Local escape Dwarf Mongoose Optimization Algorithm, LDMOA). This method addresses the significant prediction errors of conventional ELM models and enhances prediction accuracy. The enhancements to the Dwarf Mongoose Optimization Algorithm include three key modifications: initially, a dynamic backward learning strategy is integrated at the early stages of the algorithm to augment its global search capabilities. Subsequently, a cosine algorithm is employed to locate new food sources, thereby expanding the search scope and avoiding local optima. Lastly, a "madness factor" is added when identifying new sleeping burrows to further widen the search area and effectively circumvent local optima. Comparative analyses using benchmark functions demonstrate the improved algorithm's superior convergence and stability. In this study, the LDMOA algorithm optimizes the weights and thresholds of the ELM to establish the LDMOA-ELM prediction model. Our paper aims to improve flood forecasting by establishing whether a global hydrological forecast system could be used as an alternative to a regional system, or whether it could provide additional information. This paper was based on the operational Global Flood Awareness System (GloFAS) of the European Commission Copernicus Emergency Management Service, as well as on a regional hydrological forecast system named RHFS, which was created with observations recorded in the Wangjiaba river basin in China. We compared the discharge simulations of the two systems, and tested the influence of input. Then the discharge ensemble forecasts were evaluated for lead times of 1–7 d, and the impact on the forecasts of errors in initialization and modelling were considered. We also used quantile mapping (QM) to post-process the discharge simulations and forecasts. The results showed: (1) GloFAS (KGE of 0.54) had a worse discharge simulation than RHFS (KGE of 0.88), mainly because of the poor quality of the input; (2) the average forecast skill of GloFAS (CRPSS about 0.2) was inferior to that of RHFS (CRPSS about 0.6), because of the errors in the initialization and the model, however, GloFAS had a higher forecast quality than RHFS at high flow with longer lead times; (3) QM performed well at eliminating errors in input, the model, and the initialization. Material demand forecasting has a profound impact on the supply chain and is an important prerequisite for manufacturing enterprises to produce. In order to accurately predict the material demand of enterprises, this paper proposes a material demand forecasting algorithm based on multi-dimensional feature fusion (DFMF). Secondly, in order to obtain the spatial features, the vector representation of the relevant materials of a material is obtained through the attention mechanism. Then, the authors aggregate the relevant material representation and material vector representation of materials to obtain the final material vector representation through aggregation function. The correction of model forecast is an important step in evaluating weather forecast results. In recent years, post-processing models based on deep learning have become prominent. In this paper, a deep learning model named EDConvLSTM based on encoder-decoder structure and ConvLSTM is developed, which appears to be able to effectively correct numerical weather forecasts. Compared with traditional post-processing methods and convolutional neural networks, ED-ConvLSTM has strong collaborative extraction ability to effectively extract the temporal and spatial features of numerical weather forecasts and fit the complex nonlinear relationship between forecast field and observation field. In this paper, the post-processing method of ED-ConvLSTM for 2 m temperature prediction is tested using The International Grand Global Ensemble dataset and ERA5-Land data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). Root mean square error and temperature prediction accuracy are used as evaluation indexes to compare ED-ConvLSTM with the method of model output statistics, convolutional neural network postprocessing methods, and the original prediction by the ECMWF. Ternary interval number includes the total GDP amount in a certain period and its change range. Comprehensive information is more conducive to management decision-making. Affected by regional characteristics and national macro-control, the development trend of GDP in various regions of China in the past 15 years has been different. Some central regions grew rapidly in the early stage and fell back in the later stage, showing a saturated growth trend. Some coastal economically developed areas showed exponential growth. While some regions show an unstable upward and downward fluctuation trend. In order to predict the development trend of different GDPs, a matrix model based on exponential and polynomial regression, which can directly model the ternary interval number, is proposed in this paper. In order to eliminate the random fluctuation of data, the original ternary interval number sequence is accumulated based on the data preprocessing method in the grey model, which makes the general non-negative sequence show quasi-exponential growth so that it can be applied to the exponential-polynomial matrix model. The particle swarm optimization algorithm and the least square method are combined to estimate the parameters of the new model. The new model, quadratic polynomial, GM (1, 1), and exponential function are used to predict the GDP of 31 regions in China from 2005 to 2020. Accurately predicting the performance in various sports is crucial in comprehending training characteristics and enhancing physical education and training processes. The increasing significance of sports in China has enhanced the interest for developing prediction models to assess athletes' sports performance, accurately. These models will greatly contribute to improving sports performance and implementing scientific training methods. This paper proposes a prediction model for athletes' sports performance using Neural Networks as the underlying framework. This research aims to enhance sports performance and scientific training by developing a reliable and effective prediction model. First, the proposed model utilizes neural network algorithms, including error backpropagation and genetic algorithms, to train and optimize the prediction model. Second, it analyzes temporal patterns, extracts statistical features, and adapts to new data by ensuring reliability and effectiveness of the proposed model. Third, this paper conducts an error analysis by comparing the prediction errors between our proposed method and traditional models to evaluate the accuracy of the prediction model. In addition, this paper conducts an error analysis by comparing the prediction errors between our proposed method and traditional models. Finally, the results demonstrate that our proposed method achieves a maximum error of 36.12%, with the highest error rate in the BP network prediction being 6.76%. With the proposal of the carbon neutrality target, China's attention to carbon emissions has been further enhanced. Effective prediction of future carbon emissions is important for the formulation of carbon neutralization target and action plans in the region. Many factors affecting carbon emissions, cause their development trends may be nonlinear. To forecast the carbon emissions of coal and natural gas in the industrial sector more accurately, a new MGM(1,m,N|γ) model considering nonlinear characteristics is proposed in this paper. The new model introduces power function γ as nonlinear parameter, and the γ value is solved by nonlinear constraint function. We further deduce the simulation and prediction formula and then apply the improved model to the carbon emission forecast. The comparisons show that the nonlinear parameters can modify the trend of sequences and improve the prediction accuracy, which verifies the validity of the model. Finally, according to the influencing factors and forecast results, this paper analyzes the causes of high carbon emissions and puts forward reasonable suggestions for China's carbon governance. Urban carbon emissions are one of the most important areas contributing to the growth of carbon emissions, and resource-dependent cities with natural resource extraction and processing as their leading industries tend to have higher carbon emissions. Ordos is the city with the highest coal production in China, and its economic development is dominated by coal, oil and gas, and other resource extraction and processing industries, with industrial activities making a large contribution to carbon emissions. At the same time, Ordos has undergone rapid industrialization in recent years, but still faces the problem of environmental pollution, epitomizing a typical resource-dependent city in China. Therefore, this paper takes Ordos as an example and uses the Generalized Divisa Index Method (GDIM) to study the drivers of industrial carbon emissions in Ordos from 2005–2020, a typical resource-dependent city in China, and further analyzes are conducted in relation to the three phases of development. Based on the key drivers, the Monte Carlo method is used to forecast industrial carbon emissions from 2021 to 2030. The results show that the most important factors driving the growth of industrial carbon emissions are the scale of industrial output and industrial energy consumption, while the intensity of industrial energy investment is the most important factor mitigating industrial carbon emissions, and that energy efficiency and carbon intensity of energy consumption can also mitigate carbon emissions after economic transformation. With the construction of a new-type power system under the China "double carbon" target and the increasing diversification of the energy demand on the user side, the short-term load forecasting of the power system is facing new challenges. To fully exploit the massive information contained in data, based on the graph convolutional network (GCN) and long short-term memory network (LSTM), this paper presents a new short-term load forecasting method for power systems considering multiple factors. The Spearman rank correlation coefficient was used to analyse the correlation between load and meteorological factors, and a model including meteorology, dates, and regions was established. Secondly, GCN and LSTM are jointly used to extract the spatial and temporal characteristics of massive data, respectively, and finally achieve short-term power load prediction. To help government make emergency plans and citizens prepare protective measures, Forecasting PM2.5 concentration reliably is an important and achievable means for offering early warning. An improved forecasting model for PM2.5 concentration are proposed in this paper by constructing the novel correlation denoising and ensemble learning strategy. Empirical mode decomposition is first employed to construct the framework of ensemble learning strategy, which decomposes raw PM2.5 concentration into several intrinsic mode functions and one residual. Support vector machine coupled with correlation denoising is used to handle the severe-fluctuated intrinsic mode functions, while autoregressive integrated moving average is used to address the rest intrinsic mode functions and residual. The final forecasting results are obtained by summing the corresponding forecasted parts of support vector machine and autoregressive integrated moving average. Daily PM2.5 concentration and meteorological variables collected from three cities in central south China in 2018 and 2019 are used as case studies. The results of case studies answer why the proposed combination performs better than the other combinations in the same circumstances, and demonstrated that the proposed model benefited by correlation denoising and ensemble learning strategy improves forecasting accuracy and robustness over benchmark models. Financial time series are nonlinear, volatile and chaotic. Inspired by quantum computing, this paper proposed a new model, called primary ensemble empirical mode decomposition combined with quantum neural network (PEEMD-QNN) in predicting the stock index. PEEMD-QNN takes the advantages of the PEEMD which retains the main component of modal component and QNN. To demonstrate that our PEEMD-QNN model is robust, we used the new model to predict six major stock index time series in China at a specific time. Detailed experiments are implemented for both of the proposed prediction models, in which empirical mode decomposition combined with QNN (EMD-QNN), QNN and BP neural network are compared. The influence of machine learning technologies is rapidly increasing and penetrating almost in every field, and air pollution prediction is not being excluded from those fields. This paper covers the revision of the studies related to air pollution prediction using machine learning algorithms based on sensor data in the context of smart cities. Using the most popular databases and executing the corresponding filtration, the most relevant papers were selected. After thorough reviewing those papers, the main features were extracted, which served as a base to link and compare them to each other. As a result, we can conclude that: (1) instead of using simple machine learning techniques, currently, the authors apply advanced and sophisticated techniques, (2) China was the leading country in terms of a case study, (3) Particulate matter with diameter equal to 2.5 micrometers was the main prediction target, (4) in 41% of the publications the authors carried out the prediction for the next day, (5) 66% of the studies used data had an hourly rate, (6) 49% of the papers used open data and since 2016 it had a tendency to increase, and (7) for efficient air quality prediction it is important to consider the external factors such as weather conditions, spatial characteristics, and temporal features. With the rapid development of re‐electrification, traditional load forecasting faces a significant increase of influencing factors. Existing literature focuses on examining the influencing factors related to load profiles in order to improve the prediction accuracy. However, a large number of redundant features may lead to the overfitting of the forecasting engine. To enhance the performance of extreme learning machine (ELM) under massive data scale, this paper presents a kernel extreme learning machine (KELM) based method which can be used for short‐term load prediction. First, a feature dimensionality reduction is performed using a kernelized principal component analysis, which aims to eliminate redundant input vectors. Then, the hyperparameters of KELM are optimized to improve the prediction accuracy and generalization. Case studies based on a province‐level power system in China demonstrate that the presented method can significantly improve the accuracy of load forecasting by 3.14% in contrast to traditional ELM. In order to solve the problem of long product lead time, accurate demand forecasting for space science payload components is of great significance to the development of China's space science industry. In view of the unsteady, nonlinear, and small sample characteristics of space science payload component demand, this paper proposes the EEMD-CC&CV-MPSO-SVR model to predict the future demand of space science payload components. First, this paper effectively adopts EEMD to decompose the normalized demand sequence and analyze the stationarity of each subsequence. The sequence complexity is distinguished by sample entropy, and the optimum kernel function CC-MPSO-SVR and CV-MPSO-SVR prediction models are established for high-complexity and low-complexity sequences, respectively. Finally, the prediction results of each subsequence are ensemble to form a total prediction. Experimental results shows that the model proposed in this paper performs better than single benchmark models and other hybrid models in terms of prediction performance and robustness. It can effectively predict the quantity and trend of the demand for China's space science payload components, which provide decision-making basis for the government to formulate policies, demand-side procurement, and supply-side inventory control. Under the influence of the coronavirus disease and other factors, agricultural product prices show non-stationary and non-linear characteristics, making it increasingly difficult to forecast accurately. This paper proposes an innovative combinatorial model for Chinese hog price forecasting. First, the price is decomposed using the Seasonal and Trend decomposition using the Loess (STL) model. Next, the decomposed data are trained with the Long Short-term Memory (LSTM) and Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA) models. Finally, the prepared data and the multivariate influence factors after Factor analysis are predicted using the gated recurrent neural network and attention mechanisms (AttGRU) to obtain the final prediction values. Compared with other models, the STL-FA-AttGRU model produced the lowest errors and achieved more accurate forecasts of hog prices. This paper aims to study the phased influencing factors of renminbi (RMB) exchange rate (CNY against USD) and investigate the predictability of the factors selected by multimodel. We first take the time points when China's main exchange reform policies are launched as the demarcation points and divide the entire sample from July 2005 to December 2020 into three periods. Then, we select the potential predictors using several sources, including all factors (without any selection), the factors selected by each of the five commonly used machine learning methods, the significantly correlated factors selected by traditional regression analysis method, and multimodel‐driven factors. Finally, we predict the exchange rate based on the above selected factors and compare the prediction results. The research results show that the main influencing factors are different in different periods, and the influence of phase events cannot be ignored. Even if their influence on the exchange rate has decreased as a result of the "811" exchange rate reform, the money supply and foreign exchange reserves continue to be the primary drivers of RMB exchange rates during the whole period of the sample. Additionally, RMB exchange rate forward is a robust influencing factor in all periods. By comparing the forecast errors, we find that the prediction accuracy of the factors selected based on multimodel is higher than that of the factors selected based on a single method or the tradition method. The findings of this paper provide the following insights for exchange rate managers: In exchange rate risk management, it is important to pay attention to the impact of macroeconomic factors such as foreign exchange reserves and the impact of staged events, and market expectations of exchange rates are equally important. At the technical level, it is recommended to improve the forecasting accuracy by forecasting exchange rates based on common factors selected by multiple better machine learning methods simultaneously rather than those selected by a single method. Dynamical prediction of monsoon rainfall has been an important topic and a long-standing issue in both research and operational community. This paper provides a comprehensive evaluation of the subseasonal-to-seasonal (S2S) prediction skill of the East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) rainfall using the hindcast record from the Beijing Climate Center Climate System Model, BCC CSM1.1m, during the period 1983–2019. The model exhibits reasonable skills for predicting the EASM rainfall at all lead times with the skill dropping dramatically from the shortest lead time of about 2 weeks (LM0) to 1-month lead (LM1), and then fluctuating remarkably throughout 2-month to 12-month lead times. Over the EASM domain, the rapid decline of the S2S rainfall prediction skill from LM0 to LM1 is mainly caused by the inferior skills over Central China in July and over Northeast China in August. Composite analysis based on hindcast records suggest that these inferior skills are directly tied to the model's difficulties in capturing above-normal precipitation over eastern Central China and Northeast China in the respective months, which are further shown to be associated with anomalous weakening and meridional movement of the Northwestern Pacific subtropical high and the activity of large-scale teleconnection pattern hard to be predicted over northeastern Asia in summer, respectively. These findings inform the intrinsic limits of the S2S predictability of the EASM rainfall by a dynamical model, and strongly suggest that the level of confidence placed upon S2S forecasts should be stratified by large-scale circulation anomalies known to significantly affect the prediction skill, e.g., the subtropical high and high-latitude teleconnection patterns for summer monsoon rainfall prediction in this region. This paper precisely estimates the looming demand for hydrogen within the transportation sector, spanning 14 pivotal G20 nations from 2022 to 2050, anchored in the global vehicle hydrogen market penetration rate. Employing a robust techno-economic modeling methodology and leveraging Geographic Information System (GIS) for enriched visualization, it unveils distinct environmental dividends across three thoughtfully devised scenarios: Business- as -Usual, Moderate, and Aggressive. Findings herald India and China as pinnacles of hydrogen demand, with South Korea and Japan tailing closely. In the grey prediction, the GM(1, 1) model is an important type, but it sometimes shows big prediction errors. To improve the prediction precision of GM(1, 1) model, the paper makes improvements from the following three aspects: (1) to improve the data's adaptability to the model, the paper transforms the accumulated generating sequence of original time sequence; (2) to make the model meet the variation characteristics of data, the paper extends the grey action of traditional GM(1, 1) model; (3) to avoid big average simulation or prediction relative error of model, the paper considers the minimum of the maximum of the two errors as the optimization objective function. In this paper, an error-correcting ensemble model combining empirical mode decomposition and reconstruction combined with statistical methods is proposed to improve the prediction accuracy of a high concentration of particulate matter with diameters of 2.5 μm or less (PM2.5) around a tailings reservoir. The proposed prediction model consists of a prediction model of a high concentration of PM2.5 and an error correction model. The optimal prediction model is obtained by comparing the two indicators of fitting effect and result error, constantly adjusting the batch size and the number of network layers. The measured data of the tailings reservoir in Ma'anshan City, China, were used for validation. The results showed that the mean absolute error (MAE) of our long short-term memory–improved empirical mode decomposition–long short-term memory (LSTM-IEMD-LSTM) mode was 0.125, 0.661, and 4.372 lower than that of LSTM, multivariable linear regression–improve empirical mode decomposition–multivariable linear regression (MR-IEMD-MR), and autoregressive integrated moving average model–improve empirical mode decomposition–autoregressive integrated moving average model (ARIMA-IEMD-ARIMA), and the root-mean-square error (RMSE) of our LSTM-IEMD-LSTM compared with LSTM, MR-IEMD-MR, and ARIMA-IEMD-ARIMA decreased by 13.2%, 45.5%, and 84.2%. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) has been widely applied to evaluate the performance of banks, enterprises, governments, research institutions, hospitals, and other fields as a non-parametric estimation method for evaluating the relative effectiveness of research objects. However, the composition of its effective frontier surface is based on the input-output data of existing decision units, which makes it challenging to apply the method to predict the future performance level of other decision units. In this paper, the Slack Based Measure (SBM) model in DEA method is used to measure the relative efficiency values of decision units, and then, eleven machine learning models are used to train the absolute efficient frontier to be applied to the performance prediction of new decisions units. To further improve the prediction effect of the models, this paper proposes a training set under the DEA classification method, starting from the training-set sample selection and input feature indicators. In this paper, regression prediction of test set performance based on the training set under different classification combinations is performed, and the prediction effects of proportional relative indicators and absolute number indicators as machine-learning input features are explored. The robustness of the effective frontier surface under the integrated model is verified. An integrated models of DEA and machine learning with better prediction effects is proposed, taking China's regional carbon-dioxide emission (carbon emission) performance prediction as an example. The novelty of this work is mainly as follows: firstly, the integrated model can achieve performance prediction by constructing an effective frontier surface, and the empirical results show that this is a feasible methodological technique. Secondly, two schemes to improve the prediction effectiveness of integrated models are discussed in terms of training set partitioning and feature selection, and the effectiveness of the schemes is demonstrated by using carbon-emission performance prediction as an example. With China's vigorous implementation of the two-carbon policy. the automotive industry is transitioning from traditional to alternative energy sources. Accurate forecasting of new energy vehicle sales can provide statistical support for policy planning. This paper proposed a grey Lotka-Volterra model based on an HP filter to forecast new energ vehicle sales trends. The proposed model overcomes the limitations of the original model in forecasting cyclical data and improves its applicability in small sample data systems. And the competitive forecasting model allows us lo explore the market competition or cooperation between various vehicle types. Compared to the two existing models, the new model perfbrms better in forecasting vehicle sales. The study further applies the LCA method to assess the scale of energy consuniption and GHG emissions in the automotive sector. The prediction and evaluation results show that new energy vehicle sales will surpass traditional fuel vehicles by 2035 and dominate the vehicle market before 2050. Unfurtunately, vehicle electrification has not significantly reduced the transportation industry's environmental concerns. To fully utilize the potential for enet·gy-savings and emission-reduction of new energy vehicles, it is urgent to pursue technological advancements in battery production and power-generating structure. By decomposing the changes of carbon emissions into effects of economic growth, industrial structural change, technological change and energy structure change, the paper firstly discusses the contribution of each effect to China's carbon emission changes between 2020 and 2030, and forecasts China's total carbon emissions in 2030. In particular, the paper strengthens that a decrease in population and a significant slowdown in urbanization will significantly reduce the construction demand, the main driver for high growth of carbon emissions in China, and provide a relatively favorable economic environment for China to achieve carbon peaking by 2030. Financial management and decision-making of universities play an essential role in their development. Predicting fund revenue and expenditure of universities can provide a necessary basis for funds risk prevention. For the lack of solid data reference for financial management and funds risk prevention in colleges and universities, this paper presents a prediction model of University fund revenue and expenditure based on fuzzy time series with a periodic factor. Combined with the fuzzy time series, this prediction method introduces the periodic factor of university funds. The periodic factor is used to adjust the proportion of the predicted value of the fuzzy time series and the periodic observation value. A fund revenue prediction model and a fund expenditure prediction model are constructed, and an experiment is carried out with the actual financial data of a university in China. The experimental result shows the effectiveness of the proposed model, which can provide solid references for financial management and funds risk prevention in universities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
