Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze papers on child rearing in Korea and to suggest future research and nursing practice directions for child rearing. Methods: An on-line search via 5 web sites yielded 201 research papers. The analysis of key concepts was based on the attributes of parenting and type of knowledge held by the parents. Results: The research papers found in the search were 27.3% experimental and 72.7% non-experimental. Among the participants, 77.0% of parents raising the child were mothers and the children were mostly young children under the age of one year. Types of knowledge related to child rearing varied widely, but explanatory knowledge (55.2%) was the most common, followed by prescriptive knowledge (30.0%) and descriptive knowledge (14.8%). For attributes of parenting, reaction to parenting (49.9%) followed by parenting behavior/practice (43.1%) was most common. Conclusion: Findings of this study indicate that further research is necessary regarding fathers and surrogate caregivers and on prescriptive knowledge for health promotion of children at different developmental stages. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the trends in studies published in Journal of Korean Critical Care Nursing (JKCCN) from 2008 to 2013. Methods: A total of 65 studies published between 2008 to 2013 were reviewed using criteria developed by researchers. Results: Approximately 36% of studies were conducted with patients. Intensive care unit (ICU) was the most popular site as the study setting. Among 59 research papers, 42.4% were approved by institutional review board (IRB). Quantitative studies were 78.6%, while qualitative studies were 4.6%. The research designs for the quantitative studies were survey (52.3%), quasi-experimental (16.9%), and so on. There was no randomized controlled trial. The most frequently used methods to provide nursing intervention was education. In addition, "nurse" and "ICU" were most commonly used keyword. Conclusion: Considering the low rate of IRB approval, more stringent application of research ethics is necessary to improve the quality of JKCCN. Abstract: The final design of ITER vacuum vessel thermal shield (VVTS), which is planned to be procured completely by Korea, has been implemented after the procurement arrangement was signed. In this paper, the design and the supporting analysis are described for the key components of the VVTS such as joint, panel, support, and stopper. The VVTS design is revised and finalized based on the manufacturing feasibility, interface requirement and assemble feasibility. The inboard and the outboard supports of VVTS are designed in detail considering structural rigidity and assemble feasibility. The shape of in-pit joint, which is installed every 40° sector in toroidal direction for compensation of possible misalignment during sector assembly, is determined. Three types of joints are developed in accordance with their locations and assemble feasibilities are checked through the R&D. Stopper design is developed in order to prevent direct contact against adjacent components such as vacuum vessel and magnets. Structural rigidity of the whole VVTS is also validated by finite element analysis under various kinds of operating conditions, such as deadweight, electro-magnetic load, seismic load and load combinations.
