With the increased attention and demand on community‐based palliative and end‐of‐life (EOL) care services comes the question of how to ensure their sustainability. Sustainability has three key attributes: acceptability, affordability and adaptability. Having established the acceptability and affordability of the community‐based service, this paper focussed on adaptability, as the remaining issue affecting long‐term sustainability. The aim of this study was to identify components of the palliative and EOL service which require adaptability to ensure long‐term sustainability for the service. A mixed methods approach was used for this study. Semi‐structured interviews were conducted with family members. Semi‐structured focus groups and interviews were held with health professionals. Patient data were included to describe frequency and nature of contacts. The results were analysed using descriptive analysis. The setting was a rural town in Victoria, Australia. Nine family members were interviewed, and 16 health professionals were interviewed or took part in a focus group. Patient data included 121 participants. Four themes were identified: the uniqueness of the patient, workforce issues, collaboration between services and symptom and pain management. All themes indicated that the palliative and EOL service faces challenges which may threaten the sustainability of the service and require adaptability. Families regard palliative and EOL care as special and valued, and appreciate the endeavour, care and support taken to assist their loved one to die with dignity regardless of the location and setting. With sufficient attention paid to the adaptability of the service, community palliative and EOL care service can become more sustainable, thus offering choice and dignity for people approaching the end of life. Consumer-directed care (CDC) is increasingly widespread among aged care service options in Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. However, the evidence base regarding the programmatic and contextual factors that affect the outcome of CDC interventions is surprisingly small. This paper reports on a self-directed care approach for older Australians with complex care needs. A multimethods longitudinal comparative cohort study was employed comprising 4 survey tools and 56 semi-structured interviews. Participation rates were around 20%. A total of 185 (98 in the intervention and 87 in the control group) older people and carers were recruited at baseline. Eleven months later, 109 participants (59 in the intervention and 50 in the control group) completed the repeat measure. Attrition rates were around 40%. Data collection occurred between July 2010 and April 2012. The data suggest that intervention group participants were likely to be more satisfied with the way they were treated (P = 0.013), their care options (P = 0.014), the 'say' they had in their care (P < 0.001), the information they received regarding their care (P = 0.012), what they were achieving in life (P = 0.031), that the services changed their view on what could be achieved in life (P = 0.020) and with their standard of living (P = 0.008). The evaluation suggests that while only a very small segment of older people is interested in a voucher or cash option, a substantially larger group would like to have greater say over and more direct access to their care, without, however, assuming administrative and financial responsibilities. The paper concludes that a stepped capacity-building approach to CDC may improve the acceptability of CDC to older people and generate synergies that improve older people's care outcomes. This paper explores the engagement in physical activity as a potential coping strategy for asylum seekers living in the Australian community without the right to work and with prolonged uncertainty, and benefits or barriers to undertaking such activity. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were held with 29 asylum seekers who had arrived to Australia by boat and were living in the community in the cities of Perth, Sydney or Melbourne in July-October 2013 after their release from immigration detention. The ratio of the numbers of men and women interviewed (23 men and 6 women) was comparable to the ratio of men and women who came by boat to Australia seeking asylum in 2012-2013. Nine participants reported that they participated in physical activity as a coping strategy. Seven other participants were so worried about their future and their families that they did not have the mental or physical energy to engage in physical activity. A further six wanted to participate in physical activity but faced a number of barriers to doing so. The seven remaining participants were either not asked about their physical activity engagement because they focused their discussion on other challenges or did not elaborate on why they were not engaging in physical activity. The findings suggest that physical activity, coupled with other coping strategies, are important for some asylum seekers in trying to manage the distress of being denied the right to work and living with prolonged uncertainty. In addition, these findings highlight the critical barrier that government policy plays in disabling engagement in physical activity, which further compounds social exclusion. Purpose: To explore perceptions of nurses and patients regarding sexual intimacy in a long‐term mental health unit. Design and Methods: Qualitative exploratory design including in‐depth semi‐structured individual interviews with 12 registered nurses and 10 long‐term patients of a forensic mental health hospital. Findings: The theme of supporting sexual intimacy was identified and described in this paper and included the following subthemes for nurses: It depends on the setting, need for guidelines and consent, and for patients—it depends on the setting; and need for support. Practice Implications: The findings suggest that current guidelines regarding sexual intimacy in acute inpatient settings may not be appropriate in long‐term facilities, with a need for guidelines to specifically address this setting. Furthermore, support for sexual intimacy needs of patients was identified as a strong need for patients and they believed not currently met. Nurses have an important role to play as part of their holistic approach to care and barriers to providing this aspect of care must be overcome to ensure patients' rights are respected. Given an Australian national and state policy agenda that continues to promote collaborative work, many community organisations are attempting to engage in partnerships with mixed results. This paper reports on a qualitative study conducted to explore the experiences of existing partnerships between organisations and small community groups who deliver community based support services to older people from culturally diverse backgrounds. In particular, this study sought to identify the key factors that facilitate and hinder the formation, maintenance and effectiveness of partnerships within the ethnic and multicultural community aged care (EMCAC) sector. Fourteen participants representing nine community and health service organisations located in the Melbourne metropolitan area took part in semi-structured interviews. Participants reported that partnerships between organisations are necessary and beneficial within the EMCAC sector. Organisational capacity, access to information and guidelines, and the inequality experienced by smaller organisations were key issues identified by participants. Increasing organisational capacity and reducing the inequalities experienced in partnerships may be addressed via training and education about the nature of partnerships, as well as by advocating for increased resources to smaller ethno-specific organisations. Further investigation is required to examine whether not engaging in partnerships will deem an organisation unsustainable in the longer term. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of the research reported in this paper was to explore the perspectives and insights of emergency relief recipients in relation to their complex health problems, which had contributed to their position of needing to seek emergency relief. The sample consisted of 20 adults aged between 19 and 51 years who had received emergency relief in a regional city in Victoria, Australia. Non-probability sampling was used, employing the convenience sampling procedure. A qualitative, exploratory research approach utilising in-depth interviews was selected to obtain data from the respondents. The method of data analysis used involved open, axial and selective coding. The main findings were that the participants experienced abuse and neglect in childhood, the effects of mental health problems, going without food, lack of access to and the high cost of health care, and the interactive aspects of health problems and poverty. Increasing evidence of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare workers' mental health and wellbeing has prompted concerns about the longer-term impacts on healthcare delivery and health workforce sustainability. For rural health services and communities, the pandemic has compounded existing challenges including workforce shortages, potentially leading to further health inequalities. This qualitative interview study aimed to explore factors within and external to the health service environment that influenced health service staff mental health and wellbeing in rural and regional Victoria, Australia, during the first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2021). Participants were recruited from nine publicly funded rural and regional health services. Semistructured interviews were conducted via videoconference, audio-recorded, and transcribed. Data were analysed using a five-stage framework approach. Eighteen health service staff from four rural areas participated in the study. A range of factors that were perceived by participants to influence their wellbeing were identified. These were coded to four main themes: (1) rural community relations, (2) the nature of the health workplace, (3) self-care and supportive networks, and (4) public health measures and the unpredictable nature of the pandemic. Factors coded to these themes were described as both positive and negative influences on health staff mental health and wellbeing. Optimising the mental health and wellbeing of rural health staff is imperative to the sustainability of this workforce during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. Rural health services must consider the community and health service (meso-level), individual (microlevel), and broader pandemic context (macrolevel) when developing and implementing strategies to promote staff wellbeing. Strategies must encompass the development of senior leadership capabilities, mechanisms to support effective leadership, and optimal communication processes within health services. Given the potential for community support to positively influence rural health staff wellbeing, community engagement should be a feature of health service wellbeing strategies. In Victoria, Australia, Maternal and Child Health nurses (MCHNs) play a key role in facilitating the timely identification of Postnatal Depression and Anxiety (PNDA). Understanding MCHNs' screening practices, and the factors which impact them, is central to ensuring that future screening policy agendas are evidence‐based and able to support MCHNs in carrying out this critical work. Yet, little is known about this subject. The purpose of this study was to gain an in‐depth understanding of MCHNs' screening practices, and the factors which impact them. Qualitative descriptive design with semi‐structured interviews were used. Participants were MCHNs who had been practicing for a minimum of 6 months and regularly saw new mothers. Purposeful sampling was used to facilitate diversity across participant characteristics. Twelve MCHNs were interviewed between March and May 2021. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify patterns across our data. Qualitative content analysis was then used to identify issues which were most emphasised by MCHNs. Two themes were identified. Theme one, 'variations in screening practices', pertained to MCHNs' various screening practices (i.e., who, when, how) and the factors which influence them. Theme two, 'systemic barriers hinder equitable screening', pertained to factors which hindered equitable screening practices. Results indicate that systemic barriers contribute to inconsistent and inequitable screening practices, with women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds less likely to be screened in line with best practice. Our findings emphasise an urgent need for MCHNs to be allocated with the resources required to screen all women equally, regardless of their cultural background. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID‐19 pandemic and associated physical distancing restrictions have exacerbated social, economic and health disadvantage within our communities. With increases in mental health difficulties and family violence already being seen, there is concern that the risk of child maltreatment risk may also be increased. The current study aimed to explore the experience of the COVID‐19 pandemic for families identified to be at risk of child maltreatment in Victoria, Australia. Understanding the experiences of the pandemic for families already at risk is essential in identifying how to best support vulnerable parents and young children during this challenging time. Interviews were conducted with 11 parents currently involved with Child Protection Services, and nine clinicians working within a child and family health services, supporting clients with child protection involvement. Parents and clinicians described a range of pandemic related stressors including employment and financial stress, worry about infection and changes to service access. In addition, parents with children in out of home care discussed decreased access to their children resulting from physical distancing restrictions. Parents and clinicians perceived the pandemic to be having a negative impact on parent mental health, parenting stress and isolation. Although parents raised minimal concerns about the impact of the pandemic on child well‐being, clinicians expressed concerns about the rise in risk factors for child maltreatment. Parents discussed a range of coping strategies which they perceived to be helpful during the pandemic, and clinicians and parents described the need for additional mental health support and support to access basic needs. The study highlights the importance of ensuring at risk families have access to parenting and mental health support throughout the pandemic and the importance of ensuring children within at‐risk families are sighted and their safety assessed. Healthcare staff are in a unique position of understanding client experiences, physiological impacts of client behaviour, the local healthcare system and the physical environment in which the services operate. Their perspectives may provide insights into the feasibility and effectiveness of existing models of diabetes care and suggestions for improvements to models of care (MoC). The objective of this qualitative study was to explore the experiences of healthcare staff delivering care for people with diabetes at the request of an existing healthcare service. Semi‐structured interviews were conducted with 21 healthcare staff from three community health centres in one region of Victoria, Australia, in 2018. Interviews were audio‐recorded and transcribed verbatim. Data were subject to qualitative content analysis and, subsequently, emerging themes were classified at individual, relationship, community and societal levels of the social–ecological model (SEM). Perceived barriers of access to health services using the current MoC included a lack of public transport, low socioeconomic status, job insecurity (resulting in an inability to take time away from work) and inflexible appointment times, all of which negatively impact diabetes management. Perceived enablers included having a co‐located, multidisciplinary team, a holistic approach to diabetes management and motivation resulting from improvement in diabetes‐related health outcomes. The findings indicate that there is potential to improve the service in this region by adopting a more integrated, team‐focused and accessible MoC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

High costs of living and low wage growth in Australia have resulted in an increase in the number of people experiencing food insecurity, and a corresponding increase in the number of people accessing food aid. This research employs qualitative methods alongside standard methods to explore food security to investigate these issues in food aid settings in Victoria, Australia. The two aims of this study were, 1) to explore the profile of people who access food aid and 2) to explore the experiences of people accessing food aid. A convenience sample of people was recruited from organisations that distribute food aid from across the state. People in need of food aid typically self‐refer to charities, who then apply varied and localised criteria to manage access to the charitable service. Interviews were conducted with 78 participants between June 2018 and January 2019. Participants had been accessing food aid for 4 years on average (SD 5.7, range 1 month—40 years), most participants were female (n = 57, 73.1%), with an average age of 52.6 years (SD 15.9), and over half were born in Australia (n = 44, 56.4%). Most participants were in receipt of a government welfare payment (n = 75, 96.2%), and over 40% were living in private rental accommodation. Around two thirds of participants reported low or very low food security (n = 54, 67.5%). Participants reported a range of both positive and negative experiences accessing food aid. This study adds to the body of literature exploring food insecurity in high‐income settings and its persistence despite significant national economic prosperity. Current economic and political conditions in Australia mean that the reliance on food aid by welfare recipients is unlikely to decrease. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Family violence has been highlighted by the World Health Organization as a major public health concern. Although family violence occurs to all genders, a higher prevalence of victims are female. Estimates report around 30% of all women experience intimate partner violence worldwide. Experiencing assault in the family violence context can lead to an acquired brain injury (ABI); however, the connection between these two phenomena has not been well established. The aim of this qualitative study was to explore the extent of, and factors contributing to, ABI and family violence. We conducted 22 semi‐structured interviews and one focus group (n = 4) with practitioners working with family violence victims and/or perpetrators. Thematic data analysis utilised inductive and deductive coding approaches. The Social Determinants of Health Framework was used to guide analysis. Practitioners estimated 30%–40% of the clients on their caseloads had a suspected or diagnosed ABI. They identified that contributing factors were extremely complex. These included acquiring an ABI through assault (past family violence or other criminal act), and transport crashes. Complicating factors of ABI were identified as mental health conditions, alcohol and drug use, and post‐traumatic stress disorder. Additional factors contributing to family violence were recognised as biological (age of parent, twin births, pregnancy, premature births, and children with congenital abnormalities), relationships (intimate partner, father, boyfriend, mother and siblings), previous trauma (family violence), and life stressors (unemployment, financial, and lack of housing). Social determinants of health included cultural (ethnicity, societal attitudes, values, and beliefs) and organisational (legislation and policy) factors which influenced behaviours and outcomes across all sectors. A model of Brain injury Family violence Nexus (BFN) was created to understand the interaction between these phenomena. Utilising the BFN model to understand the interaction can enhance the methods used within health and social services for a more efficacious approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: To examine health care managers' and health and safety staff experiences of prevention and management of workplace violence against staff. Background: Employers have a responsibility to protect employees from workplace violence. The varied care settings present challenges for those responsible for ensuring safety. Method: Descriptive exploratory study using semi‐structured interviews with 99 participants responsible for workplace safety, from 29 health services across metropolitan and regional Victoria, Australia. Interviews were audio‐recorded, transcribed and thematically analysed. Results: Five themes were identified: Workplace violence was accepted as "part of the job"; Participants relied on government resources and networking to guide them; Working alone and home visiting was a risk factor; Participants demanded a single, state‐wide training programme; Sharing information is vital. Conclusions: Participants were acutely aware of the risks of violence towards staff, and of their responsibility in managing risks. Knowledge sharing and consistent, regular education can reduce the risks. Additional resources were required, particularly during home visits, or when working alone. Implications for Nursing Management: Managers need to prioritize resources such as reliable rapid response systems to prevent and manage violence, particularly against staff working alone or home visiting. As many patients' sole point of contact with the health care system, primary health care physicians (general practitioners [GPs] in Australia) are often positioned as key players in responding to rates of overweight and obesity in dominant public discourse. However, research from Western industrialised countries suggests that GPs may not be prepared for, or confident in, having conversations about overweight and obesity with patients. Little attention has been given to this topic in Australia, particularly in the context of rural health. The aim of this study was to understand how GPs in two rural settings in Victoria, Australia talk about overweight and obesity with patients. Working from a multidisciplinary perspective, a qualitative study design was adopted, and semi‐structured interviews were conducted with seven GPs and seven GP patients living in two rural communities between January and April, 2016. Data was coded manually and thematic analysis was used to explore the data. The findings of this study support the argument that, in contrast to dominant messages within public health discourses, GPs may not be best placed to act as the primary actors in responding to overweight and obesity as they are constructed in epidemiological terms. In fact, the perspectives of GP study participants suggest that to do so would compromise important dimensions of general medical practice that make it simultaneously a human practice. Instead, more balanced, holistic approaches to discussing and responding to overweight and obesity with patients could be taken up in local, interdisciplinary collaborations between different health professionals and patients, which utilise broader social supports. Focussing on long‐term, incremental programs that consider the whole person within their particular socio‐cultural environment would be a productive means of working with the complexities of overweight and obesity. Abstract: This study aimed to explore the use of a contemporary workplace stress model, the Job Demands‐Resources model, with direct‐care workers using a qualitative approach. The JD‐R model has successfully been used to predict health outcomes across different occupations using quantitative methods. However, the use of the generic questionnaire developed for this model may not always be appropriate. Direct‐care workers (n = 19) attended two focus groups and reported on their job demands, job resources and personal resources. Six themes relating to demands across the two groups: funding insecurity, time pressure, hindrance demands, poor systems, emotional engagement and dealing with client crises were identified. Participants identified clinical supervision, social support and progressive workplace resources as job resources. Finally, the personal resources identified by participants were professional behaviours, disposition and self‐care. The JD‐R model and its standard questionnaire captures some of these aspects of direct‐care work, but many were not assessed. As such, future investigations with direct‐care workers should ensure items related to poor systems, progressive workplace resources, disposition and professional behaviours are included. Alternatively, a qualitative approach should be used as a first step in the development of valid questionnaires when investigating workplace stress with this group to ensure their experience is accurately quantified. Abstract: Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB) infection and subsequent liver complications are rising in prevalence in Australia due to increased migration from endemic regions. Nearly 50% of all those living with CHB in Australia are undiagnosed, leading to missed opportunities for liver cancer and cirrhosis prevention. Health literacy around CHB among refugee communities such as Afghan, Rohingyan, and Sudanese populations (all with a high prevalence of CHB) is low, partly due to a paucity of targeted health promotion programmes; despite the release of the Victorian Hepatitis B Strategy (2016–2020). We developed a peer‐education intervention in these three communities to deliver CHB focused radio programmes and community forums in their own language, following a needs assessment consisting of semistructured interviews and surveys. Effectiveness of this intervention was measured through paired comparison of disease‐knowledge assessment pre and post forum. Community forums were held between 2015 and 2016, with 25 attendees at the Rohingyan forum (68% male), 10 attendees at the Afghan forum (90% male) and 0 attendees at the Sudanese forum. Participants demonstrated a significant improvement in CHB knowledge between pre‐ and post‐forum surveys (p‐value < 0.05). A peer‐educator approach was a cost‐effective health promotion strategy in building CHB knowledge and dispelling misconceptions within the Afghan and Rohingya communities. There were significant barriers in the engagement of the South Sudanese community, which will inform future strategies for health promotion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: This qualitative study aims to provide insight into the impact of chaplaincy in the Australian juvenile justice system. Semi‐structured qualitative interviews were conducted with six chaplains and managers of chaplaincy services in the juvenile justice system in Victoria, Australia. Interviews were analysed thematically using deductive and inductive coding. Four themes emerged relating to the role and impact of the chaplain: to establish a safe and trusting relationship with the adolescents, to convey love and belonging, to engage the adolescents in meaning making, and to help adolescents to realise their full potential. These themes are consistent with Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Two themes emerged regarding how to increase the reach of chaplaincy: through recognising chaplaincy as an integral part of the justice system and enabling chaplains to work with the adolescents and their families post‐release. While limited by a small sample, this study represents all organisations that provide chaplaincy in the juvenile justice system in Victoria, Australia. Future research could include the voices of the adolescents in juvenile justice, to gain their perspective on the role and impact of chaplaincy services. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: The aim of this study was to understand the experience of Chinese migrants living with type 2 diabetes in Australia and explore their culturally specific diabetes management needs, habits and expectations in the Australian context to help shape an Australian Chinese diabetes service. A case study approach was employed across two Australian cities (Melbourne and Sydney), using participant‐observations and qualitative interviews. Purposive sampling was used to find diabetes education sessions for observation and facilitators for interviews before snowball technique was used to identify relevant clinicians. Thematic analysis with pattern matching was used for data analysis. A total of 18 participant‐observations and 12 interviews were conducted. Chinese migrants appeared to experience multiple barriers in accessing the Australian diabetes care service further complicated by the mismatch between the expectations of Chinese patients and the services available. Chinese patients were observed to be collectivistic‐orientated relying on friends for diabetes management. While health professionals appeared to be perceived as a source of reputable health information, they often did not provide ongoing support. When professional support was limited, Chinese patients adopted alternative strategies to address their diabetes, which often involved seeking help and information from peers. Some of this information was non‐reputable, potentially resulting in detrimental health outcomes. In conclusion, redesigning diabetes care services in line with the principles of collectivism may more appropriately match the Chinese migrants’ expectations and needs, and better support them in their diabetes journey. The prevalence of dementia will continue to increase with the ageing of the population. Many people living with dementia will reach a stage where surrogate decision-makers-mostly family carers-will need to make a range of decisions on their behalf. The aim of this study was to learn from surrogate decision-makers how they can be most effectively supported in this role. The study employed a qualitative design using semi-structured face-to-face or telephone interviews with a purposive sample of 34 surrogate decision-makers of people living with dementia. Transcripts of participant interviews were reviewed using a thematic approach to analysis. Four main themes were identified from this analysis: needing greater community awareness of dementia and its impact; intervening early in cognitive decline; relying on health professionals for ongoing support; and seeking and using support from wherever is relevant for each person. Based on this analysis and a review of the literature, we propose a wholistic set of recommendations for the support of surrogate decision-makers. Healthcare professionals need to help family carers understand the likely trajectory of dementia, including the significance of surrogate decision-making. They can support the person living with dementia and their surrogates to undertake advance care planning and they can act as empathic guides during this process. Health and community care organisations need to provide a 'key worker' model wherever possible so that the person living with dementia and their surrogate decision-maker do not have to seek support from multiple staff members or organisations. Carer support programmes can routinely include information and resources about surrogate decision-making. Community and government organisations can help people prepare for the possibility of becoming surrogate decision-makers by promoting a greater public awareness and understanding of both dementia and advance care planning. This qualitative study explores barriers to delivering sustainable rural community programmes to increase social participation among Australian ethnic seniors. In 2013, in-depth interviews were conducted with 14 stakeholders across eight rural/regional organisations that had received state government funding to provide social participation initiatives for ethnic seniors. Within interviews, participants were asked to outline factors that had enhanced or hindered their capacity to deliver the funded projects, and their plans for sustainability. Data were analysed thematically in accordance with Shediac- Rizkallah and Bone's (1998) tripartite programme sustainability framework (project design and implementation, organisational setting and broader community environment). Findings indicate that in the context of resource and staffing constraints and a lack of ethnic critical mass, programme sustainability reflected the increased capacity of rural ethnic seniors to integrate into existing community groups and maintain their own groups and activities. However, this is dependent on the ability of mainstream government, health and social care services to cater for diverse cultural needs and preferences, the ability of rural organisations to support ethnic seniors to manage their own cultural groups and activities, and the capacity of funding bodies, rural community and policy structures to maintain cultural sensitivity while compensating for the rural premium. In addition to identifying some key learnings for rural governments, health and community organisations, this research highlights the precarious nature of rural programme sustainability for ethnic seniors in the context of wider community, organisational and policy constraints. Church-based health promotion has increasingly gained attention in strategies to address health disparities. In Australia, we have limited understanding of the role of local churches in health promotion and without this, how they might be involved in meaningful partnerships to tackle public health challenges. The objective of this qualitative study was to explore how churches are involved in health promotion in the state of Victoria. The research involved in-depth interviews with ministers from 30 churches in urban and rural Victoria, and case studies with 10 of these churches to enable further exploration. These case studies, conducted in 2010, included interviews with church staff, focus groups with volunteers, participant observation and document analysis. Analysis was iterative, utilising open, axial and thematic coding. Three different expressions of church - traditional, new modern and emerging - were identified and found to differentiate the levels and types of health promotion activity. Case studies illustrate the different expressions of how church mission influences health promotion activity. The traditional churches were involved particularly in disease screening and health education activities with their own, predominantly older congregation members. The new modern churches tended to have the material and human resources to be harnessed in health promotion activities involving congregation members and others. Emerging churches, in contrast, engaged in broad health-promoting activities, including disease prevention, lifestyle activities and socio-ecological approaches at a community level. These research findings highlight the opportunities and challenges of engaging with local churches in health promotion efforts and public health programmes to address health inequities.
