The article focuses on the details on the stratigraphy, and pollen changes in the uppermost layers of the peat in several sites in Featherbed Moss, Derbyshire, Great Britain. It analyzes the general topography of the Featherbed Moss, where observations of pennine peats were conducted. The study performed qualitative, and quantitative observations on peat erosion on a 12-month period. The study has concluded that peat erosion could be caused by Moor-burning on Featherbed Moss, and this conclusion was supported by the direct estimate of peat erosion.
