In this paper an approach for analysing the potential for implementation of different technology pathways for the European pulp and paper industry (PPI) is presented. The approach is based on detailed technical research and aggregates the knowledge from previous studies to incorporate the whole European PPI. Thus, the potential for different technology pathways can be estimated on a European level whilst still considering important characteristics of individual mills. The usefulness of the approach was exemplified by applying it to a case study of the potential for introduction of carbon capture and storage (CCS) within the European PPI. The results from the case study show that for the European PPI, CCS has an up-hill road in order to be a viable, large scale alternative for reduction of CO2 emissions. If CCS is to be introduced in large scale within the European PPI, large biomass-based point sources of CO2 emissions need to be included when planning for CCS infrastructure and also the infrastructure needs to be built out for clusters emitting <20 MtCO2/yr. OLED device performance is intricately linked to microscopic processes influenced by molecular properties, creating a complex interdependence. Two key material properties in the design of balanced devices are ionization potential (IP) and electron affinities (EA). In this work we discuss how measured quantities relate to relevant energy levels in OLEDs. We present a simulation approach to compute IP and EA, benchmarked against experimental data, to shed light on the complexity of these properties. The continuous growth of renewable energy and the load level has posed increasingly severe operational risks to distribution systems. In view of this, this paper combines state estimation with risk assessment, and uses the results of distribution system state estimation based on Unscented Kalman Filter as the input of risk assessment. With the combination, the sampling based on probability distributions in traditional risk assessment methods is no longer needed, thus avoiding the difficulty of updating probability distributions timely according to the latest information in real-time operation. By applying the proposed risk assessment method, the real-time assessment of operational risks in perspectives of bus voltage, branch power, and renewable energy utilization is achieved. Meanwhile, the weight of each risk index is properly determined according to both subjective and objective knowledge by using Analytic Hierarchy Process method and entropy weight method. Abstract: Ge CMOS is very attractive for the post size-scaled Si-CMOS. However, we have to tackle a number of challenges with regard to materials and their interface control. In this paper, we discuss gate stack formation and source/drain engineering, as well as their implications for the performance of n- and p-MOSFETs. Because the Ge interface is significantly degraded by the GeO desorption occurring at a relatively low temperature (∼500°C), it is very hard to control Ge gate stack formation by a simple thermal budget control. In addition, strong Fermi-level pinning at the Ge/metal interface is a big problem in source/drain engineering. After discussing ways to control this desorption and Fermi-level pinning at the interface in both p-FETs and n-FETs, we discuss our current status of both electron and hole mobilities. Abstract: We have studied Fermi level pinning (FLP) of Hf-based high-k gate stacks based on thermodynamics based on an O vacancy model. Our study shows that FLP cannot be avoided when the system is under thermal equilibrium. O exposure to aim O vacancy elimination is not effective, since O vacancy elimination condition is equivalent to the Si substrate oxidation which leads to the increase in Equivalent oxide thickness (EOT). We also studied the mechanism of FLP induced by the reduction with H2 anneal. FLP with H2 anneal is governed by the O vacancy annihilation reaction by reducing SiO2 interface layer. Based on these considerations, we propose some recipes for obtaining band-edge-work-function metals. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Numerous metal oxides have been studied worldwide as possible high-k gate dielectric candidates for MOS devices on alternative semiconductor materials (Ge, III/V compounds). We will discuss thermal and plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition (ALD) of a few materials, HfO2 and Al2O3. We will spend some attention to characteristic features of the growth process and specific growth precursors as this is known to influence strongly the quality of the layer bulk as well as the interface. Detailed electrical characterization of MOS capacitors build on such dielectric layers, before and after forming gas anneals, shows that these interface modifications can lead to a marked decrease of the smaller interface state peaks close to the edges of the bandgap, whereas the larger mid-gap peaks are barely touched. The results of atomistic modeling of the oxidation of a GaAs surface help to understand the origin of these mid-gap electronic states, which are responsible for the apparent pinning of the Fermi level. A way of determining the flexibility of wood-pulp fibres is developed, which involves i) a precise measurement of the topology of single-fibres by using a confocal laser scanning microscope and ii) the measurement of the elastic modulus of the fibres by using a single-fibre fatigue cell. Reported in this paper are the initial results of tests carried out on black spruce fibres, which have been subjected to three different levels of mechanical refining energy, namely ∼1100, 2300, and 3500 kWh/t. It is found that the fibre flexibility rises significantly between the first and second energy levels, but it does not change to the same degree between the second and third ones. The described procedure of measuring the flexibility of fibres may be used to establish the appropriate refiner energy necessary for the production of a specific grade of paper. Meeting the growing demand for robust, earth-abundant and noble-metal-free photocatalysts for practical hydrogen-evolution reaction systems is crucial. Herein, cation modified perovskite niobates, Na0.5Sr0.5M0.25Nb0.75O3 (M = Cr, Mn, Fe, Co), are synthesized using a simple heterovalent coupled substitution strategy via solid-state reactions. The Cr compound as a single semiconductor system exhibits a photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate of 188 μmol h−1 g−1, which significantly surpasses the performance of many contemporary catalysts that rely on the use of noble metal cocatalysts. Apparent quantum efficiencies (AQEs) of Cr, Mn, Fe and Co containing compounds are 2.24, 0.55, 0.65 and 0.74%, respectively. The photophysical properties like tuned band gap, suitable energy level positioning, charge carrier density, photostability of the materials and charge transfer resistance that are responsible for efficient spatial charge separation and charge transfer dynamics impacting the hydrogen evolution are investigated. This paper discusses the role of cation modification and its effects on the photophysical properties and hydrogen evolution activity of the perovskite niobates under noble-metal free conditions. In the context of energy conversion from renewable sources to distribution grids (insulated or not), a converter is often required to transfer energy from a low voltage source towards three-phase grids. This paper presents the HW design, the simulation results, and the conversion performance of a CSI converter intended to interface low-voltage renewable sources to three-phase grids. The main focus of this paper is to obtain the best performance in terms of voltage increase towards the output stage while maximizing the conversion efficiency. In comparison with the currently used energy conversion systems for small photovoltaic systems, hereafter some solutions were adopted to level and maximize the energy flow from the source to the DC-link and improve the quality of current supplied in terms of harmonic distortion. The proposed system is composed of two conversion stages: the first, voltage-to-current, the second current-to-current via a three-phase CSI bridge modulated with the SVM technique. The stages are not completely decoupled from an electrical point of view; therefore, in order to mitigate the effects of these interactions, synchronization strategies have been adopted. This study introduces the concept of "energy level" into the analysis of innovation ecosystems. Drawing on the theory of "architects", we have identified the key architects of regional digital innovation ecosystems. By integrating Necessary Condition Analysis (NCA) and Fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA), we examined the configuration effects of internal architects, external architects, and digital innovation habitats on the energy level of these ecosystems, utilizing data from 30 provinces in China as case studies. The results indicate that the contribution of a single architect to achieving a high energy level in a regional digital innovation ecosystem is limited and cannot be regarded as a necessary condition for driving a high energy level. However, core innovation actors and digital infrastructures emerge as more significant core conditions. The architects of regional digital innovation ecosystems exhibit multiple concurrent causal relationships. The configuration paths of high and non-high energy levels of ecosystems display a causally asymmetric "multiple paths to the same outcome" relationship. The three identified paths for driving high energy levels are categorized as "core actor-infrastructure"-driven paths. Offshore wind power is an important technology for low‐carbon power grids. To improve the accuracy, a short‐term offshore wind power prediction method based on significant weather process classification and multitask learning considering neighboring powers is presented in this paper. First, a novel weather process classification method, in which the samples are divided into pieces of waves based on extreme points and are quantified with labels of energy level and fluctuation level, is proposed to classify samples into multiple types of significant weather processes for independent modeling. Second, a multitask learning method, in which the power sequences in neighboring offshore wind farms are innovatively introduced as a new input feature, is proposed for modeling wind power prediction for each wind farm inside a neighboring region under each weather process class. Case studies are presented to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method. Based on this new method, the 4‐h ultra‐short‐term root mean squared error (RMSE), 24‐h day‐ahead RMSE, 4‐h ultra‐short‐term mean absolute error (MAE), and 24‐h day‐ahead MAE can be reduced by 1.45%, 2.1%, 1.15%, and 1.85%, respectively, compared with benchmark methods, which verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. Strain rockburst is a severe failure phenomenon caused by the release of elastic strain energy in intact rocks under high-stress conditions. They frequently occur in deep tunnels, causing significant economic losses, casualties, and construction delays. Understanding the factors influencing this disaster is of significance for tunnel construction. This paper first proposes a novel three-dimensional (3D) discrete element numerical analysis method for rockburst numerical analysis considering the full stress state energy based on the bonded block model and the mechanics, brittleness, integrity, and energy storage of the surrounding rock. This numerical method is first validated via laboratory tests and engineering-scale applications and then is applied to study the effects of compressive and tensile strengths of rock mass, tunnel depth, and lateral pressure coefficient on strain rockburst. Meanwhile, sensitivity analyses of these influencing factors are conducted using numerical results and systematic analysis methods, and the influence degree of each factor on the rockburst tendency is explored and ranked. The results reveal that laboratory tests and actual engineering conditions are consistent with numerical simulation results, which validates the rationality and applicability of the novel rockburst analysis method proposed in this paper. With the increase in compressive strength, the stress concentration degree, energy accumulation level, maximum stress difference, and maximum elastic strain energy within the rock mass all increase, leading to a stronger rockburst tendency. Tunnel depth and the lateral stress coefficient are positively correlated with rockburst tendency. As the lateral pressure coefficient and tunnel depth increase, rockburst tendency exponentially increases, while the maximum stress difference and maximum elastic strain energy within the rock mass also increase. The influence degree of each factor is ranked from highest to lowest as follows: tensile strength, lateral pressure coefficient, compressive strength, and tunnel depth. This document, titled "Intermolecular Charge Transfer for High-Performance Organic Light-Emitting Diodes," discusses the use of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) to achieve high-performance devices. Specifically, the authors designed and synthesized two new molecules, CzPh-1 and CzPh-2, which were found to form deep-blue exciple emission with a triazine-containing molecule, CzTrz, through effective intermolecular charge transfer. This research paper proposes an innovative Energy-Efficient Cooperative Virtual Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Communication Protocol to address the growing demand for energy-efficient communication in wireless networks. The protocol combines the OLEACH (Optimized Energy-Efficient Cluster Head) Protocol and a Greedy Approach to enhance energy efficiency, data rates, and interference mitigation in cooperative communication. The paper provides a comprehensive analysis, including equations and models, to demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed protocol compared to existing schemes. By integrating the OLEACH protocol with the Greedy Approach, the proposed protocol achieves optimal communication and minimizes energy consumption in wireless sensor networks. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol, called greedy-OLEACH, exhibits a high Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) in low signal-to-noise ratio scenarios, indicating its effectiveness. Furthermore, comparisons with other clustering protocols such as LEACH, greedy-LEACH, and OLEACH reveal that greedy-OLEACH outperforms in terms of data delivery performance and remaining energy levels. This indicates efficient energy management and increased network longevity. The paper presents an in-depth analysis of the soundscape within Sarek National Park, the oldest national park in Europe, situated in Lapland, northern Sweden. The comprehensive acoustic measurements, ambisonic recordings, and 360○ video recordings were carried out during a scientific expedition in the summer of 2020. The aim of the paper is to show the soundscape analysis of carefully selected characteristic locations in various parts of the valley. The paper extensively discusses the findings derived from the recorded data using both classical acoustic methods and the soundscape approach. The classic acoustic parameters, commonly employed in environmental acoustics as well as eco-acoustic indices such as: ACI (acoustic complexity index), ADI (acoustic diversity index), AEI (acoustic evenness index), NDSI (normalized difference soundscape index), BIO (energy level of biophony), amplitude index (M), and total entropy (H) were calculated. To gain further insights, listening tests, facilitated through virtual reality tools, were conducted, enabling participants to engage in soundwalk experiences. By employing a combination of traditional acoustic methods and innovative soundscape approaches, the paper presents a holistic evaluation of the auditory environment in Sarek National Park. Datacenters are the primary driving force behind the energy shift to renewable sources. This shift limits the environmental impact of non-renewable sources and decarbonizes datacenters. However, renewable energy generation fluctuates with time and location, which introduces uncertainty in fulfilling user requests (URs). Thus, non-renewable energy generation continues to power the datacenters to make stability. Recent works direct to the use of renewable energy generation followed by non-renewable generation while assigning the URs to the resources of the datacenters. These works do not model the uncertainty of renewable and non-renewable energy resources and the level of uncertainty. This paper extends the three benchmark algorithms, namely future-aware best-fit (FABEF), highest available renewable energy first (HAREF) and round-robin (RR), by incorporating uncertainty and its level (UNL), and we call them UNL-FABEF, UNL-HAREF and UNL-RR, respectively. The goal of UNL-FABEF is to minimize the overall cost, whereas UNL-HAREF is to maximize the available renewable energy usage. On the contrary, UNL-RR assigns the datacenter to the URs in a roundabout fashion. This paper also introduces the UNL multi-objective scheduling algorithm (UNL-MOSA) to make a trade-off between UNL-FABEF and UNL-HAREF. UNL-MOSA creates a balance between the overall cost and the available renewable energy usage. All four algorithms consider three UNLs of URs, namely low, medium and high, for renewable energy resources. These algorithms are tested using fifty instances of ten datasets with 200 to 2000 URs and 20 to 200 datacenters and compared using five performance metrics: the overall cost, number of used renewable and non-renewable energy resource slots, and uncertainty cost and time. This paper describes a comprehensive energy-related dataset, collected from residential electricity households within an energy community in Ireland, as part of StoreNet project. The data includes local weather parameters and per household power (W) and energy (Wh) components for various aspects such as active power consumption, PV generation, grid import and export, charging and discharging, and the state of charge of energy storage. Additionally, it provides weather data for the location at a 1-minute temporal resolution for the year 2020. The dataset has been validated by comparing measurements that should yield identical results to standard load profiles, with no significant inconsistencies discovered. Validation examples have also been given through the published articles where this dataset has been used to analyse peer-to-peer energy trading benefits for the energy community and decision-making support for aggregators. The dataset aids in understanding patterns in electrical load curves and the duty cycle of energy storage within an energy community. The increasingly extensive use of non-linear loads, mostly including static power converters, in large industry, commercial, and domestic applications, as well as the spread of renewable energy sources in distribution-generated units, make the use of the most efficient power quality improvement systems a current concern. The use of active power filters proved to be the most advanced solution with the best compensation performance for harmonics, reactive power, and load unbalance. Thus, issues related to improving the power quality through active power filters are very topical and addressed by many researchers. This paper presents a topical review on the shunt active power filters in three-phase, three-wire systems. The power circuit and configurations of shunt active filtering systems are considered, including the multilevel topologies and use of advanced power semiconductor devices with lower switching losses and higher switching frequencies. Several compensation strategies, reference current generation methods, current control techniques, and DC-voltage control are pointed out and discussed. The direct power control method is also discussed. New advanced control methods that have better performance than conventional ones and gained attention in the recent literature are highlighted. The current state of renewable energy sources integration with shunt active power filters is analyzed. Concerns regarding the optimum placement and sizing of the active power filters in a given power network to reduce the investment costs are also presented. Trends and future developments are discussed at the end of this paper. In this paper, we investigate the Feshbach resonances of high partial waves and the influence of spin–spin (S–S) interaction on ultracold scattering processes. Taking the N a 23 - R b 87 system as an example, we plot the variations of weakly bound state energy and elastic scattering cross section with magnetic field and with collision energy. We find that the number of splittings in high partial wave Feshbach resonances does not strictly conform to the expected l + 1 (l is rotational angular momentum), and the deviation is attributed to the influence of bound states in other channels coupled by S–S interaction. For different ml (the projection of l on the external magnetic field direction), the effects of S–S interaction lead to different scattering patterns in the incident channels. In this paper, we are concerned with the nonlinear Love equation, which describes some sort of "propagation process" in physics. Firstly, we establish the local existence and uniqueness of the solution by using the contraction mapping principle and the regularity theory for the elliptic problem. Secondly, we construct a family of potential wells to obtain a threshold for the existence of global solutions and blowup in a finite time of the solution in both cases with subcritical and critical initial energy. Additionally, we provide the decay rate of the global solution and estimate the lifespan of a blow‐up solution. Moreover, at the supercritical initial energy level, we provide a sufficient condition for initial data leading to blow‐up results. This paper, along with the previous work of A. N. Carvalho, J. Problems with task distribution in cloud data centers persist despite earlier research in cloud computing (CC). Particularly in the infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud paradigm. In cloud data centers, effective task allocation is essential due to the restricted availability of resources and virtual machines (VMs). IaaS is one of the main CC models since it controls the backend, which includes VMs and data centers. Cloud service providers can ensure satisfactory service delivery performance in these models by preventing situations of host underutilization or overloading. This is because both results increase network execution time and lead to VM failure. To solve these problems, an improved load balancing approaches was proposed in this work. Therefore, this paper suggested an enhanced load balancing approaches to address these issues. The Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) method and the Bat algorithm are combined to create the balancing technique known as the Hybrid BAT and ABC (HBABC) algorithm, which dynamically distributes resources. The suggested HBABC method was assessed using CloudSim and standard workload format (SWF) data sets, which had file sizes of 200 KB and 400 KB. The evaluation was conducted on even workloads ranging from 200 to 20,000, and the performance of the HBABC method was compared with other state-of-the-art algorithms. The implementation of the suggested HBABC method resulted in a reduction of the Makespan (energy level) within the data center and showed improved accuracy in task allocation for VMs in a cloud data center. The ANOVA comparison test revealed a 1.98 percent enhancement in VM accuracy and task distribution, as well as a 0.98 percent decrease in the Makespan or energy level of the cloud data center. The outcomes are in line with various services broker rules that are employed during process of simulating the suggested algorithm in a cloud datacenter. In recent years, the incorporation of sensing technology into residential buildings has given rise to the concept of "smart buildings", aimed at enhancing resident comfort. These buildings are typically part of interconnected neighborhoods sharing common energy sources, which makes the energy consumption a critical consideration in decision-making processes. Consequently, optimizing energy usage in smart buildings has posed significant challenges for both enterprises and governments, prompting numerous studies to address this issue. One such challenge is organizing energy usage within neighborhood networks while ensuring the user comfort and without exceeding the total energy capacity. In this paper, we present a novel mechanism that predicts the future behavior of each house based on its historical consumption data, generating a weekly schedule annotated with hourly energy usage levels (high, normal, or low) tailored to individual user needs. Additionally, we introduce an incentive-based program that rewards users with bill discounts for adhering to high energy consumption periods. The scheduling process involves extracting features from data and utilizing a genetic algorithm for construction, coupled with dynamic programming to enhance efficiency by storing house features and schedules. This enables rapid provision of suitable schedules for similar houses. The article mainly examines spatial diversification of the green economy in EU countries in 2014 and 2021 in the context of the energy transformation process. In the theoretical part of the work, the green economy concept, with reference to the conditions of the green energy, was analyzed. The research procedure used in the article is based on multidimensional comparative analysis. The empirical verification was conducted using green economy indicators that are published periodically by the OECD and Eurostat. Based on 21 indicators, a synthetic green economy index was designed for 27 EU member states. In the selected set of detailed indicators, those related to green energy economy played an important role. This approach allowed for the creation of rankings and comparisons between EU countries in 2014 and 2021, i.e., the implementation period of the Europe 2020 Strategy. In this period, the priority areas of EU development were: the low-carbon economy, including the use of renewable energy sources and improvement of energy efficiency, as well as the introduction of eco-innovation. Green energy should be the basis for the functioning of highly developed countries and socio-economic progress in the case of developing countries. Based on the analysis, a large discrepancy in terms of green economy was observed in the examined countries. Particular attention was paid to disproportions in the area of green energy. The average value of the synthetic measure of the green economy in the EU countries increased in the studied years from 0.4488 to 0.4529, which can be interpreted as a slight acceleration in the greening processes. The added value of the research presented in the paper and its novelty is the analysis of the current patterns of green transformation in EU member states, with particular emphasis on energy factors. Improving the utilization of thermal energy is crucial in the world nowadays due to the high levels of energy consumption. One way to achieve this is to use phase change materials (PCMs) as thermal energy storage media, which can be used to regulate temperature or provide heating/cooling in various applications. However, PCMs have limitations like low thermal conductivity, leakage, and corrosion. To overcome these challenges, PCMs are encapsulated into microencapsulated phase change materials (MEPCMs) capsules/fibers. This encapsulation prevents PCMs from leakage and corrosion issues, and the microcapsules/fibers act as conduits for heat transfer, enabling efficient exchange between the PCM and its surroundings. Microfluidics‐based MEPCMs have attracted intensive attention over the past decade due to the exquisite control over flow conditions and size of microcapsules. This review paper aims to provide an overview of the state‐of‐art progress in microfluidics‐based encapsulation of PCMs. The principle and method of preparing MEPCM capsules/fibers using microfluidic technology are elaborated, followed by the analysis of their thermal and microstructure characteristics. Meanwhile, the applications of MEPCM in the fields of building energy conservation, textiles, military aviation, solar energy utilization, and bioengineering are summarized. Dynamic compaction (DC) represents a cost-effective method for reinforcing subgrade and is particularly suited to treating large-scale building subgrade. Nevertheless, the effect of DC reinforcement on high groundwater level (HGL) subgrade remains uncertain due to the lack of clarity surrounding the energy transfer mechanism of DC in HGL subgrade. In this paper, an outdoor model test of HGL subgrade was conducted based on the DC method. The temporal evolution of the internal transverse and vertical dynamic stresses in soil under different water levels, energy levels, and tamper weight conditions was monitored, and the DC mechanism of HGL subgrade was described from the perspectives of the dynamic stress waveform, peak development, and attenuation. On this basis, a novel methodology for assessing the extent of subgrade reinforcement through the utilization of impulses was put forth, thereby facilitating a more precise evaluation. The results showed that the HGL is obstructive in DC energy transfer. The peak dynamic stress, depth of impact and maximum impulse per unit area were markedly diminished when tamping the water surface. The study results also recommend that construction could expand the application range of the DC method and provide engineering suggestions for the selection of construction parameters and subsequent building construction. This paper presents a comprehensive study of hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si)-based detectors, utilizing electrical characterization, Raman spectroscopy, photoemission, and inverse photoemission techniques. The unique properties of a-Si have sparked interest in its application for radiation detection in both physics and medicine. Although amorphous silicon (a-Si) is inherently a highly defective material, hydrogenation significantly reduces defect density, enabling its use in radiation detector devices. Spectroscopic measurements provide insights into the intricate relationship between the structure and electronic properties of a-Si, enhancing our understanding of how specific configurations, such as the choice of substrate, can markedly influence detector performance. In this study, we compare the performance of a-Si detectors deposited on two different substrates: crystalline silicon (c-Si) and flexible Kapton. Our findings suggest that detectors deposited on Kapton exhibit reduced sensitivity, despite having comparable noise and leakage current levels to those on crystalline silicon. We hypothesize that this discrepancy may be attributed to the substrate material, differences in film morphology, and/or the alignment of energy levels. Over the past decade, the relation between the Balmer-line luminosity of HII galaxies and the velocity width of the emission lines, the L − σ relation, has been painstakingly calibrated as a cosmological distance indicator with seemingly spectacular results: the Hubble constant and the energy density of dark energy obtained using the L − σ indicator agree remarkably well with the values from canonical indicators. Since most of the luminosity of these young compact starburst galaxies is emitted by a few narrow emission lines, they can be observed with good precision up to redshifts of z ∼ 7 with JWST, making the L − σ indicator a potentially unique cosmological probe. However, the precision of the method remains too low to effectively constrain the relevant cosmological parameters, notably the equation of state of dark energy. The scatter of the L − σ relation is significantly larger than the random observational errors, so we do not have a good handle on the systematics of the method. In a previous paper, we posited that since the ionizing radiation of these young galaxies fades rapidly over timescales of only a few million years, age differences could be the main underlying cause of the scatter. In this paper, we explore several different ways of explaining the scatter of the correlation, but without success. We show that the majority of HII galaxies are powered by multiple starbursts of slightly different ages, and therefore that the equivalent widths are not reliable chronometers to correct the luminosities for evolution. Thus, it is not likely that the accuracy of the L − σ distance indicator can be improved in the near future. Since we do not fully understand either the systematics or the underlying physics of the L − σ relation, using large samples of distant HII galaxies may or may not improve the accuracy of the method. With the rapid development of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, the net load characteristics of power systems have undergone fundamental changes. This paper defines quantitative analysis indicators for net load characteristics and examines how these characteristics evolve as the proportion of wind and solar energy increases. By identifying inflection points in the system's adjustment capabilities, we categorize power systems into low, medium, and high renewable energy penetration. We then establish adjustment models that incorporate traditional coal power, hydropower, natural gas generation, adjustable loads, system interconnections, pumped-storage hydroelectricity, and new energy storage technologies. A genetic algorithm is employed to optimize and balance the net load curves under varying renewable energy proportions, analyzing the mechanism behind net load balance. A case study, based on real operational data from 2023 for a provincial power grid in western China, which is rich in renewable resources, conducts a quantitative analysis of the system's adjustment capability inflection point and net load balancing strategies. The results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively captures the evolution of the system's net load and reveals the mechanisms of net load balancing under different renewable energy penetration levels. In military activities, communication devices are widely used to confuse enemies' radars or communications to abandon their strategies and execute planned actions. Army sustainability goals are to upgrade the effectiveness of the mission, reduce army environmental impact, build green sustainable structures, and attain the energy level independence that improves the continuity of operations which are indispensable to the mission. The primary goal of this paper is to present an innovative mathematical model for selecting pertinent antennae in communication devices using an innovative idea called a Complex Linear Diophantine Fuzzy Soft set based on the various attributes by incorporating decision-making techniques. The extensive application of vibratory roller compaction in construction has resulted in a requirement to increase the effectiveness of compaction. This paper investigated the effect of the moisture content and the compactive effort on the behaviour of granite particles under compaction. Results from experiments showed that particle crushing depends on the level of imparted energy rather than the number of passes. Increases in the moisture content is not noticeably beneficial to the particle crushing with sufficient compaction but will lead to larger surface settlements with the same imparted energy in the studied range. The relationship between energy consumption, environmental pollution, and economic growth has been the subject of intense research over the past few decades. However, empirical evidence remains scarce and with mixed results. This paper throws a new light on the nonlinear impact of environmental degradation on economic growth depending on the level of energy intensity. This study provides an original approach in the context of Malaysia by utilizing an innovative threshold regression approach suggested by Hansen (Econometrica 68(3):575–603, 2000), which allows the data to endogenously divided into two regimes with an exogenous threshold variable. We find strong evidence that environmental degradation has a nonlinear effect on economic growth in Malaysia. In particular, CO2 has a negative effect on growth, but only after the primary energy intensity reaches a threshold level of 91.33 tons of oil equivalent (TOE)/GDP and the final energy intensity reaches 51.56 TOE/GDP, respectively. Our results are robust in terms of ecological footprint. Several policy implications are highlighted which aim to encourage sustainable energy use for sustainable growth in the future. The increasing reliance on electric vehicle (EV) charging in buildings requires balancing the load from other building systems to support the new demand. This paper uses a study case in a Near-Zero Energy Building (NZEB) educational facility located in the Brazilian Amazon to verify how much the energy efficiency (EE) measures would improve the existing ratings of the building and supply the expansion of EV demand. A comprehensive building energy load and energy performance analysis were conducted in four steps, following the mandatory Brazilian requirements for EE in public buildings, using measured data, computer modeling, and thermoenergetic analyses using OpenStudio version 1.1.0 and EnergyPlus software version 9.4.0. First, the EE retrofit measures were proposed and evaluated, targeting the air conditioning and lighting systems. Subsequently, an equation was elaborated to indicate the maximum level of energy consumption that could be increased without compromising the building's energy performance and NZEB classification. Finally, Open DSS software version 10.0.0.2 was used to simulate the increased availability of EV charging after the retrofit. With the proposed retrofit, the building improved the EE ratings by three levels, and the percentage of the NZEB rating increased by 33.28%. These measures also increased the EV charging load by 20%, maintaining the maximum EE level and the NZEB classification, although EV maximization reduced self-sufficiency by 9.78% compared to the retrofit-only scenario. In the N-body problem, it is classical that there are conserved quantities of center of mass, linear momentum, angular momentum and energy. The level sets M (c , h) of these conserved quantities are parameterized by the angular momentum c and the energy h, and are known as the integral manifolds. A long-standing goal has been to identify the bifurcation values, especially the bifurcation values of energy for fixed non-zero angular momentum, and to describe the integral manifolds at the regular values. Alain Albouy identified two categories of singular values of energy: those corresponding to bifurcations at relative equilibria; and those corresponding to "bifurcations at infinity", and demonstrated that these are the only possible bifurcation values. This work examines the bifurcations for the four body problem with equal masses. There are four singular values corresponding to bifurcations at infinity. To establish that the topology of the integral manifolds changes at each of these values, and to describe the manifolds at the regular values of energy, the homology groups of the integral manifolds are computed for the five energy regions on either side of the singular values. The homology group calculations establish that all four energy levels are indeed bifurcation values, and allows some of the global properties of the integral manifolds to be explored. Aluminum powder particle size (D50) is quite important for how to improve the energy release level and formulation design of aluminized explosives. In this paper, four experimental samples of CL-20-based aluminized explosives with aluminum powder particle sizes including 2, 13, 24, and 43 μm were designed. The experiments were carried out through an underwater explosion tank and compared with explosives containing lithium fluoride of the same particle size. The results show that the burning of aluminum powder promoted the shock wave propagation and bubble expansion. Aluminized explosives have a lower and then higher decay rate than lithium fluoride-containing explosives. For the experimental range of aluminum powder particle sizes, with an increase in D50, the peak shock wave pressure first increased and then decreased, reaching the maximum at 24 μm; the shock wave and loss energy gradually increased, while the bubble energy, energy utilization, and underwater explosion total energy all gradually decreased. To a certain degree, the energy output structure can be regulated by adjusting the D50 under the premise of constant total energy of explosives. The experimental results improve our understanding of how D50 affects the underwater explosion parameters of aluminized explosives, which is of great significance for improving their energy utilization. In a previous paper [B. Poirier, J. Chem. Phys. 121, 4501 (2004)] a unique bipolar decomposition Ψ=Ψ1+Ψ2 was presented for stationary bound states Ψ of the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation, such that the components Ψ1 and Ψ2 approach their semiclassical WKB analogs in the large-action limit. The corresponding bipolar quantum trajectories, as defined in the usual Bohmian mechanical formulation, are classical-like and well behaved, even when Ψ has many nodes or is wildly oscillatory. A modification for discontinuous potential stationary scattering states was presented in a second, companion paper [C. Trahan and B. Poirier, J. Chem. Phys.124, 034115 (2006), previous paper], whose generalization for continuous potentials is given here. The result is an exact quantum scattering methodology using classical trajectories. Determination of cosmological parameters is a major goal in cosmology at present. The availability of improved data sets necessitates the development of novel statistical tools to interpret the inference from a cosmological model. In this paper, we combine the principal component analysis (PCA) and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method to infer the parameters of cosmological models. We use the No U-Turn Sampler (NUTS) to run the MCMC chains in the model parameter space. After determining the observable by PCA, we replace the observational and error parts of the likelihood analysis with the PCA reconstructed observable and find the most preferred model parameter set. To demonstrate our methodology, we assume a polynomial expansion as the parametrization of the dark energy equation of state and plug it into the reconstruction algorithm as our model. After testing our methodology with simulated data, we apply the same to the observed data sets, the Hubble parameter data, Supernova Type Ia data, and the Baryon acoustic oscillation data. This paper reviews observations on processes involving concentration gradients to show that (1) Concentration gradients can do external work during discharge if the system is arranged in a manner that requires it. (2) Work has to be done on the system (i.e. energy has to be added) to create a concentration gradient. (3) Concentration gradients can spontaneously discharge with no change in energy except interaction energy. These three observations are significant since, together, these observations demonstrate an apparent violation of the law of conservation of energy which is resolved by proposing that a probability field is a common element for all concentration gradients. This paper thus introduces two new concepts into thermodynamics: (1) Many spontaneous processes occur because of an increase in probability, not because of a decrease in the energy state of the system. Policies to address climate change have been implemented worldwide in recent years. The core of these policies is to control greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which primarily stem from the consumption of fossil fuels. Consequently, the implementation of climate policies can affect other energy-related issues, such as energy poverty, a critical element of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This paper uses cross-country data from 2000 to 2020 to study the possible policy spillovers from climate actions to energy poverty. We show that a spillover effect does exist. In other words, a higher number of climate policies is associated with a lower level of energy poverty. The spillover is realized through improvements in energy efficiency, the promotion of renewable energy, and support for innovations. In addition, legislative policies are found to have stronger spillover effects. While the overall policy effects are positive for executive policies, regulations tend to have negative impacts on energy development. There is also evidence demonstrating heterogeneous effects between long-term and short-term policies, and between developed and developing countries. Discovering this spillover effect gives extra motivation for countries to adopt climate policies and actively seek synergies in achieving broader sustainable goals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, the effect of C, N and O atom doping of intrinsic MoSe2 on the adsorption capacity of Ni is investigated based on first-principle research methods. The aim is to analyze whether intrinsic MoSe2 can be doped and modified to improve its adsorption capacity of Ni so that it can be used as a new type of adsorbent material. By calculating and analyzing the energy band structure, density of states, differential charge and optical properties of each system, the conclusions are as follows: the O-doped MoSe2 system has the best adsorption capacity for Ni, and the adsorption capacities of the three systems are in the following order: O>N>C. The bandgap value of intrinsic MoSe2 adsorbed Ni-atom decreases, while the Fermi energy level of the C-doped MoSe2 adsorbed Ni-atom system is located in the valence band, which shows p-type doping. The differential charge of the system was analyzed and the charge transfer of the adsorbed system was increased by C, N and O atom doping, and the O-doped system had the strongest adsorption capacity for Ni. It was shown that the charge distribution between the system and the adsorbed Ni-atom changed considerably after atomic doping, and the bonds between the Ni-atom and the dopant atoms of the C-, N- and O-doped adsorption system were strongly ionic. Optical analysis reveals that C, N and O atom doping improves the charge binding ability of Ni-adsorbed MoSe2 material, which gives it a higher polarization rate and faster electric field response. The absorption of ultraviolet light is greatly enhanced, which can improve the efficiency of solar cells and convert solar energy into electricity more effectively. Overall, the Ni adsorption capacity of atomically doped MoSe2 is improved, indicating that doping can be an effective means to improve the adsorption of Ni-atom by intrinsic MoSe2. Potential photovoltaic technology includes the newly developed dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells. Owing to their diverse qualities, polymers can be employed in third-generation photovoltaic cells to specifically alter their device elements and frameworks. Polymers containing phenothiazine, either as a part of their structure or as a dopant, are easy and economical to synthesize, are soluble in common organic solvents, and have the potential to acquire desired electrochemical and photophysical properties by mere tuning of their chemical structures. Such polymers have therefore been used either as photosensitizers in dye-sensitized solar cells, where they have produced power conversion efficiency (PCE) values as high as 5.30%, or as donor or acceptor materials in bulk heterojunction solar cells. Furthermore, they have been employed to prepare liquid-free polymer electrolytes for dye-sensitized and bulk heterojunction solar cells, producing a PCE of 8.5% in the case of DSSCs. This paper reviews and analyzes almost all research works published to date on phenothiazine-based polymers and their uses in dye-sensitized and bulk heterojunction solar cells. The impacts of their structure and molecular weight and the amount when used as a dopant in other polymers on the absorption, photoluminescence, energy levels of frontier orbitals, and, finally, photovoltaic parameters are reviewed. The rapid expansion of energy storage integration has not provided sufficient time to strengthen and expand the transmission and distribution network. This issue can lead to PCC congestion in green multi-microgrid (MMG) systems. In these systems, microgrids operate independently and connect to the grid at a point of common coupling (PCC) without sharing operational data with neighboring microgrids. To address this issue, this paper proposes a bi-level optimization model designed to reschedule hydrogen storage systems. The first level allows each microgrid to optimize its energy transactions with the grid and communicates any unbalanced energy to the second level, where a hydrogen management system (HMS) is introduced. The HMS optimizes virtual hydrogen prices to address the PCC congestion and maximize the MMG's profit. These virtual prices are then sent to the first level, allowing the microgrids to reschedule the hydrogen storage systems based on these virtual prices. Finally, the MMG's profit is fairly allocated among the microgrids using the Shapley value method. The proposed method's effectiveness is demonstrated using simulations, which show a six percent increase in MMG profit compared to scenarios that only share PCC capacity while maintaining the data privacy of all the involved microgrids.
