To explore whether the brain contains pattern differences in the rock–paper–scissors (RPS) imagery task, this paper attempts to classify this task using fNIRS and deep learning. In this study, we designed an RPS task with a total duration of 25 min and 40 s, and recruited 22 volunteers for the experiment. We used the fNIRS acquisition device (FOIRE-3000) to record the cerebral neural activities of these participants in the RPS task. The time series classification (TSC) algorithm was introduced into the time-domain fNIRS signal classification. Experiments show that CNN-based TSC methods can achieve 97% accuracy in RPS classification. CNN-based TSC method is suitable for the classification of fNIRS signals in RPS motor imagery tasks, and may find new application directions for the development of brain–computer interfaces (BCI). In this paper, research was conducted on anomaly detection of wheel flats. In the railway sector, conducting tests with actual railway vehicles is challenging due to safety concerns for passengers and maintenance issues as it is a public industry. Therefore, dynamics software was utilized. Next, STFT (short-time Fourier transform) was performed to create spectrogram images. In the case of railway vehicles, control, monitoring, and communication are performed through TCMS, but complex analysis and data processing are difficult because there are no devices such as GPUs. Furthermore, there are memory limitations. Therefore, in this paper, the relatively lightweight models LeNet-5, ResNet-20, and MobileNet-V3 were selected for deep learning experiments. At this time, the LeNet-5 and MobileNet-V3 models were modified from the basic architecture. Since railway vehicles are given preventive maintenance, it is difficult to obtain fault data. Therefore, semi-supervised learning was also performed. At this time, the Deep One Class Classification paper was referenced. The evaluation results indicated that the modified LeNet-5 and MobileNet-V3 models achieved approximately 97% and 96% accuracy, respectively. At this point, the LeNet-5 model showed a training time of 12 min faster than the MobileNet-V3 model. In addition, the semi-supervised learning results showed a significant outcome of approximately 94% accuracy when considering the railway maintenance environment. In conclusion, considering the railway vehicle maintenance environment and device specifications, it was inferred that the relatively simple and lightweight LeNet-5 model can be effectively utilized while using small images. This paper aims to use deep learning algorithms to identify and study the stability of breakwater armor blocks. It introduces a posture identification model for fender blocks using a Mask Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (R-CNN), which has been enhanced by considering factors affecting breakwater fender blocks. Furthermore, a wave prediction model for breakwaters is developed by integrating Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERTs) with Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM). The performance of these models is evaluated. The results show that the accuracy of the Mask R-CNN and its comparison algorithms initially increases and then decreases with higher Intersection Over Union (IOU) thresholds, peaking at 95.16% accuracy at an IOU threshold of 0.5. The BERT-BiLSTM wave prediction model maintains a loss value around 0.01 and an accuracy of approximately 90.00%. These results suggest that the proposed models offer more accurate stability assessments of breakwater armor blocks. By combining the random forest prediction model with BiLSTM, the wave characteristics and fender posture can be predicted better, offering reliable decision support for breakwater engineering. The rapid advancement of autonomous vehicle technology has brought into focus the critical need for enhanced road safety systems, particularly in the areas of road damage detection and surface classification. This paper explores these two essential components, highlighting their importance in autonomous driving. In the domain of road damage detection, this study explores a range of deep learning methods, particularly focusing on one-stage and two-stage detectors. These methodologies, including notable ones like YOLO and SSD for one-stage detection and Faster R-CNN for two-stage detection, are critically analyzed for their efficacy in identifying various road damages under diverse conditions. The review provides insights into their comparative advantages, balancing between real-time processing and accuracy in damage localization. For road surface classification, the paper investigates the classification techniques based on both environmental conditions and material road composition. It highlights the role of different convolutional neural network architectures and innovations at the neural level in enhancing classification accuracy under varying road and weather conditions. Handwriting is a biometric behavioral characteristic with evident individual distinctiveness. With the rise of the deep learning trend and demands for forensic identification, handwriting identification has become one of the focal points of research in the field of pattern recognition. Research in handwriting identification for major global languages has matured. However, in China, there is limited attention in the field of writer identification for minority languages such as Mongolian, making it challenging to resolve criminal cases involving handwriting issues. This paper initiates an initial exploration of Mongolian handwriting identification by constructing a structurally simple convolutional neural network. This convolutional neural network, consisting of 12 convolution operations and designed for Mongolian handwriting identification, is referred to as MWInet-12. In this paper, the model evaluation experiments were conducted using a dataset comprising 156,372 samples contributed by 125 writers from the MOLHW dataset. The dataset was divided into training, validation, and test sets in an 8:1:1 ratio. The final results of the experiments reveal impressive accuracy on the test set, achieving a top-1 accuracy of 89.60% and a top-5 accuracy of 97.53%. Furthermore, through comparative experiments involving Resnet50, Fragnet, GRRNN, VGG16, and VGG19 models, this paper establishes that the proposed model yields the most favorable results for Mongolian handwriting identification. The exploratory research on Mongolian handwriting identification in this paper contributes to increasing awareness of information processing for minority languages. A full connected world is expected to be introduced in the sixth generation mobile network (6G). As a typical fully connected scenario, the internet of vehicle (IoV) enables intelligent vehicle operations via artificial intelligence (AI) and edge computing technologies. Thus, integrating intelligence into edge computing is, no doubt, a promising development trend. In the future of vehicular networks, a massive variety of services need powerful computing resources and higher quality of service (QoS). Existing computing resources are insufficient to match those increasing requirements. Most works on this problem focused on finding the power-delay's trade-off, ignoring QoS and stable load balance. In this study, we found that the computing power and redundancy of vehicles' in IoV is increasing. So, those redundant computing resources are possible to be used to solve the shortage of computing resource. CNN is a typical AI technique. This technology is very suitable for solving the problems in this article. So, we adopted CNN technique of AI to design and algorithm of convolutional long short-term memory (CN_LSTM) based traffic prediction (ACLBTP). ACLBTP was designed to gain the predicted number of vehicles belonging to the edge node. Secondly, according to the problem of insufficient computing resources on remote servers, we found that a large amount of redundant computing resources exist in edge nodes. So, we used edge computing technique to solve the problem of insufficient computing resources on remote servers. ASOBCL was designed to distribute computing tasks to edge nodes. Meanwhile, an intelligent service offloading framework was provided in this article. Based on the framework, an algorithm of improved gradient descent (AIGD) was created to accelerate the speed of iteration. So, the ACLBTP's convergence of convolutional neural network (CNN) based on AIGD was able to be accelerated too. In ASOBCL, a sorting technique was adopted to speed up the offloading work. Simulation results demonstrated the fact that the prediction strategy designed in this paper had high accuracy. The low offloading time and maintaining stable load balance were gained via running ASOBCL. Low offloading time means short response time. Additionally, the QoS was guaranteed. In recent years, the increasing popularity of smart mobile devices has made the interaction between devices and users, particularly through voice interaction, more crucial. By enabling smart devices to better understand users' emotional states through voice data, it becomes possible to provide more personalized services. This paper proposes a novel machine learning model for speech emotion recognition called CLDNN, which combines convolutional neural networks (CNN), long short-term memory neural networks (LSTM), and deep neural networks (DNN). To design a system that closely resembles the human auditory system in recognizing audio signals, this article uses the Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCCs) of audio data as the input of the machine learning model. First, the MFCCs of the voice signal are extracted as the input of the model. Local feature learning blocks (LFLBs) composed of one-dimensional CNNs are employed to calculate the feature values of the data. As audio signals are time-series data, the resulting feature values from LFLBs are then fed into the LSTM layer to enhance learning on the time-series level. Finally, fully connected layers are used for classification and prediction. The experimental evaluation of the proposed model utilizes three databases: RAVDESS, EMO-DB, and IEMOCAP. The results demonstrate that the LSTM model effectively models the features extracted from the 1D CNN due to the time-series characteristics of speech signals. Additionally, the data augmentation method applied in this paper proves beneficial in improving the recognition accuracy and stability of the systems for different databases. AI plays a pivotal role in predicting plant growth in agricultural contexts and in creating optimized environments for cultivation. However, unlike agriculture, the application of AI in aquaculture is predominantly focused on diagnosing animal conditions and monitoring them for users. This paper introduces an Automated Fish-feeding System (AFS) based on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Gated Recurrent Units (GRUs), aiming to establish an automated system akin to smart farming in the aquaculture sector. The AFS operates by precisely calculating feed rations through two main modules. The Fish Growth Measurement Module (FGMM) utilizes fish data to assess the current growth status of the fish and transmits this information to the Feed Ration Prediction Module (FRPM). The FRPM integrates sensor data from the fish farm, fish growth data, and current feed ration status as time-series data, calculating the increase or decrease rate of ration based on the present fish conditions. This paper automates feed distribution within fish farms through these two modules and verifies the efficiency of automated feed distribution. Simulation results indicate that the FGMM neural network model effectively identifies fish body length with a minor deviation of less than 0.1%, while the FRPM neural network model demonstrates proficiency in predicting ration using a GRU cell with a structured layout of 64 × 48. In recent years, with the rapid development of deep learning technology, a large number of excellent convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been proposed, many of which are based on improvements to classical methods. Based on the Inception family of methods, depthwise separable convolution was applied to Xception to achieve lightweighting, and Inception-ResNet introduces residual connections to accelerate model convergence. However, existing improvements for the Inception module often neglect further enhancement of its receptive field, while increasing the receptive field of CNNs has been widely studied and proven to be effective in improving classification performance. Motivated by this fact, three effective expansion modules are proposed in this paper. The first expansion module, Inception expand (Inception-e) module, is proposed to improve the classification accuracy by concatenating more and deeper convolutional branches. To reduce the number of parameters for Inception e, this paper proposes a second expansion module—Equivalent Inception-e (Eception) module, which is equivalent to Inception-e in terms of feature extraction capability, but which suppresses the growth of the parameter quantity brought by the expansion by effectively reducing the redundant convolutional layers; on the basis of Eception, this paper proposes a third expansion module—Lightweight Eception (Lception) module, which crosses depthwise convolution with ordinary convolution to further effectively reduce the number of parameters. The three proposed modules have been validated on the Cifar10 dataset. The experimental results show that all these extensions are effective in improving the classification accuracy of the models, and the most significant effect is the Lception module, where Lception (rank = 4) on the Cifar10 dataset improves the accuracy by 1.5% compared to the baseline model (Inception module A) by using only 0.15 M more parameters. In the realm of autonomous vehicle technology, the multimodal vehicle detection network (MVDNet) represents a significant leap forward, particularly in the challenging context of weather conditions. This paper focuses on the enhancement of MVDNet through the integration of a multi-head attention layer, aimed at refining its performance. The integrated multi-head attention layer in the MVDNet model is a pivotal modification, advancing the network's ability to process and fuse multimodal sensor information more efficiently. The paper validates the improved performance of MVDNet with multi-head attention through comprehensive testing, which includes a training dataset derived from the Oxford Radar RobotCar. The results clearly demonstrate that the multi-head MVDNet outperforms the other related conventional models, particularly in the average precision (AP) of estimation, under challenging environmental conditions. With the increasing number of households owning pets, the importance of sensor data for recognizing pet behavior has grown significantly. However, challenges arise due to the costs and reliability issues associated with data collection. This paper proposes a method for classifying pet behavior using cleaned meta pseudo labels to overcome these issues. The data for this study were collected using wearable devices equipped with accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers, and pet behaviors were classified into five categories. Utilizing this data, we analyzed the impact of the quantity of labeled data on accuracy and further enhanced the learning process by integrating an additional Distance Loss. This method effectively improves the learning process by removing noise from unlabeled data. Experimental results demonstrated that while the conventional supervised learning method achieved an accuracy of 82.9%, the existing meta pseudo labels method showed an accuracy of 86.2%, and the cleaned meta pseudo labels method proposed in this study surpassed these with an accuracy of 88.3%. These results hold significant implications for the development of pet monitoring systems, and the approach of this paper provides an effective solution for recognizing and classifying pet behavior in environments with insufficient labels. This paper addresses the persistent threat of botnet attacks on IoT devices, emphasizing their continued existence despite various conventional and deep learning methodologies developed for intrusion detection. Utilizing the Bot-IoT dataset, we propose a hierarchical CNN (HCNN) approach featuring three levels of classification. The HCNN approach, presented in this paper, consists of two networks: the non-hierarchical and the hierarchical network. The hierarchical network works by combining features obtained at a higher level with those of its descender. This combined information is subsequently fed into the following level to extract features for the descendant nodes. The overall network consists of 1790 parameters, with the hierarchical network introducing an additional 942 parameters to the existing backbone. The classification levels comprise a binary classification of normal vs attack in the first level, followed by 5 classes in the second level, and 11 classes in the third level. To assess the effectiveness of our proposed approach, we evaluate performance metrics such as Precision (P), Recall (R), F1 Score (F1), and Accuracy (Acc). Rigorous experiments are conducted to compare the performance of both the hierarchical and non-hierarchical models and existing state-of-the-art approaches, providing valuable insights into the efficiency of our proposed hierarchical CNN approach for addressing botnet attacks on IoT devices. Delamination represents one of the most significant and dangerous damages in composite plates. Recently, many papers have presented the capability of structural health monitoring (SHM) techniques for the investigation of structural delamination with various shapes and thickness depths. However, few studies have been conducted regarding the utilization of convolutional neural network (CNN) methods for automating the non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques database to identify the delamination size and depth. In this paper, an automated system qualified for distinguishing between pristine and damaged structures and classifying three classes of delamination with various depths is presented. This system includes a proposed CNN model and the Lamb wave technique. In this work, a unidirectional composite plate with three samples of delamination inserted at different depths was prepared for numerical and experimental investigations. In the numerical part, the guided wave propagation and interaction with three samples of delamination were studied to observe how the delamination depth can affect the scattered and trapped waves over the delamination region. This numerical study was validated experimentally using an efficient ultrasonic guided waves technique. This technique involved piezoelectric wafer active sensors (PWASs) and a scanning laser Doppler vibrometer (SLDV). Both numerical and experimental studies demonstrate that the delamination depth has a direct effect on the trapped waves' energy and distribution. Three different datasets were collected from the numerical and experimental studies, involving the numerical wavefield image dataset, experimental wavefield image dataset, and experimental wavenumber spectrum image dataset. These three datasets were used independently with the proposed CNN model to develop a system that can automatically classify four classes (pristine class and three different delamination classes). The results of all three datasets show the capability of the proposed CNN model for predicting the delamination depth with high accuracy. The proposed CNN model results of the three different datasets were validated using the GoogLeNet CNN. The results of both methods show an excellent agreement. Single Event Upsets (SEUs) are most likely to cause bit flips within the trained parameters of a convolutional neural network (CNN). Therefore, it is crucial to analyze and implement hardening techniques to enhance their reliability under radiation. In this paper, random fault injections into the weights of LeNet-5 were carried out in order to evaluate and propose strategies to improve the reliability of a CNN. According to the results of an SEU fault injection, the accuracy of the CNN can be classified into the following three categories: benign conditions, poor conditions, and critical conditions. Two efficient methods for mitigating weight-related SEUs are proposed, as follows: weight limiting and Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) for the critical bit of the critical layer. The hardening results show that when the number of SEU faults is small, the weight limiting almost completely eliminates the critical and poor conditions of LeNet-5's accuracy. Additionally, even when the number of SEU faults is large enough, combining the weight limiting and TMR methods for the critical bit of the critical layer can retain the occurrence rate of benign conditions at 98%, saving 99.3% of the hardware resources compared to the Full-TMR hardening method. As there is a lack of public mark samples of Tibetan historical document image characters at present, this paper proposes an unsupervised Tibetan historical document character recognition method based on deep learning (UD-CNN). Firstly, using the Tibetan historical document character component, the Tibetan historical document character sample data set is constructed for model-aided training. Then, the character baseline information is introduced, and a fine-grained feature learning strategy is proposed. For the samples above and below the baseline, the Up-CNN recognition model and Down-CNN recognition model are established. The convolution neural network model is trained and optimized for the samples above and below the baseline, respectively, to improve the recognition accuracy. The experimental results show that the proposed method obviously affects the unmarked character classification and recognition of real Tibetan historical document images. Street view imagery (SVI) is a rich source of information for architectural and urban analysis using computer vision techniques, but its integration with other building-level data sources requires an additional step of visual building identification. This step is particularly challenging in architecturally homogeneous, dense residential streets featuring narrow buildings, due to a combination of SVI geolocation errors and occlusions that significantly increase the risk of confusing a building with its neighboring buildings. This paper introduces a robust deep learning-based method to identify buildings across multiple street views taken at different angles and times, using global optimization to correct the position and orientation of street view panoramas relative to their surrounding building footprints. Evaluating the method on a dataset of 2000 street views shows that its identification accuracy (88%) outperforms previous deep learning-based methods (79%), while methods solely relying on geometric parameters correctly show the intended building less than 50% of the time. These results indicate that previous identification methods lack robustness to panorama pose errors when buildings are narrow, densely packed, and subject to occlusions, while collecting multiple views per building can be leveraged to increase the robustness of visual identification by ensuring that building views are consistent. Negative emotions of drivers may lead to some dangerous driving behaviors, which in turn lead to serious traffic accidents. However, most of the current studies on driver emotions use a single modality, such as EEG, eye trackers, and driving data. In complex situations, a single modality may not be able to fully consider a driver's complete emotional characteristics and provides poor robustness. In recent years, some studies have used multimodal thinking to monitor single emotions such as driver fatigue and anger, but in actual driving environments, negative emotions such as sadness, anger, fear, and fatigue all have a significant impact on driving safety. However, there are very few research cases using multimodal data to accurately predict drivers' comprehensive emotions. Therefore, based on the multi-modal idea, this paper aims to improve drivers' comprehensive emotion recognition. By combining the three modalities of a driver's voice, facial image, and video sequence, the six classification tasks of drivers' emotions are performed as follows: sadness, anger, fear, fatigue, happiness, and emotional neutrality. In order to accurately identify drivers' negative emotions to improve driving safety, this paper proposes a multi-modal fusion framework based on the CNN + Bi-LSTM + HAM to identify driver emotions. The framework fuses feature vectors of driver audio, facial expressions, and video sequences for comprehensive driver emotion recognition. Experiments have proved the effectiveness of the multi-modal data proposed in this paper for driver emotion recognition, and its recognition accuracy has reached 85.52%. In the era of the first Industrial Revolution, many buildings were built with red bricks, and the heritage buildings built at that time are more than 100 years old. In these old heritage buildings, damage is bound to occur due to chemical and physical effects. Technologies such as automatic damage detection can effectively manage damage, but they can be affected by other categories present in heritage buildings. Therefore, this paper proposes a CNN algorithm that can automatically detect cracks and damage that occur in heritage buildings, as well as multi-label classification, such as doors, windows, arches, artwork, brick walls, stonewalls, and vents. A total of 2400 thermal infrared images are collected for 8 categories and automatic classification was performed using the CNN algorithm. The average precision and average sensitivity for the eight categories of heritage buildings are 97.72% and 97.43%, respectively. With the rapid development of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), abnormal state detection has become a critical technology to ensure the flight safety of UAVs. The position and orientation system (POS) data, etc., used to evaluate UAV flight status are from different sensors. The traditional abnormal state detection model ignores the difference of POS data in the frequency domain during feature learning, which leads to the loss of key feature information and limits the further improvement of detection performance. To deal with this and improve UAV flight safety, this paper presents a method for detecting the abnormal state of a UAV based on a timestamp slice and multi-separable convolutional neural network (TS-MSCNN). Firstly, TS-MSCNN divides the POS data reasonably in the time domain by setting a set of specific timestamps and then extracts and fuses the key features to avoid the loss of feature information. Secondly, TS-MSCNN converts these feature data into grayscale images by data reconstruction. Lastly, TS-MSCNN utilizes a multi-separable convolution neural network (MSCNN) to learn key features more effectively. The binary and multi-classification experiments conducted on the real flight data, Air Lab Fault and Anomaly (ALFA), demonstrate that the TS-MSCNN outperforms traditional machine learning (ML) and the latest deep learning methods in terms of accuracy. Waste disposal remains a challenge due to land availability, and environmental and health issues related to the main disposal method, landfilling. Combining computer vision (machine learning) and robotics to sort waste is a cost-effective solution for landfilling activities limitation. The objective of this study was to combine transfer and ensemble learning to process collected waste images and classify landfill waste into nine classes. Pretrained CNN models (Inception–ResNet-v2, EfficientNetb3, and DenseNet201) were used as base models to develop the ensemble network, and three other single CNN models (Models 1, 2, and 3). The single network performances were compared to the ensemble model. The waste dataset, initially grouped in two classes, was obtained from Kaggle, and reorganized into nine classes. Classes with a low number of data were improved by downloading additional images from Google search. The Ensemble Model showed the highest prediction precision (90%) compared to the precision of Models 1, 2, and 3, 86%, 87%, and 88%, respectively. All models had difficulties predicting overlapping classes, such as glass and plastics, and wood and paper/cardboard. The environmental costs for the Ensemble network, and Models 2 and 3, approximately 15 g CO2 equivalent per training, were lower than the 19.23 g CO2 equivalent per training for Model 1. As the penetration of renewable energy sources into a power system increases, the significance of precise short-term forecasts for wind power generation becomes paramount. However, the erratic and non-periodic nature of wind poses challenges in accurately predicting the output. This paper presents a comprehensive investigation into forecasting wind power generation for the following day, using three machine learning models: long short-term memory (LSTM), convolutional neural network-bidirectional LSTM (CNN-biLSTM), and light gradient boosting machine (LGBM). In addition, this paper proposes a method to improve the prediction performance of LGBM by separating data according to the distribution of features, and training and testing each separated dataset with a distinct model. This study includes a comparative analysis of the performance of the proposed models in predicting wind turbine output, offering valuable insights into their respective efficiencies. The results of this investigation were analyzed for two geographically distinct wind farms (Korea and the UK). The findings of this study are expected to facilitate the selection of efficient prediction models within the forecast accuracy auxiliary service market and assist grid operators in ensuring reliable power supply for the grid. Deep learning technology has made significant progress in agricultural image recognition tasks, but the parameter adjustment of deep models usually requires a lot of manual intervention, which is time-consuming and inefficient. To solve this challenge, this paper proposes an adaptive parameter tuning strategy that combines sine–cosine algorithm with Tent chaotic mapping to enhance sea horse optimization, which improves the search ability and convergence stability of standard sea horse optimization algorithm (SHO). Through adaptive optimization, this paper determines the best parameter configuration in ResNet-50 neural network and optimizes the model performance. The improved ESHO algorithm shows superior optimization effects than other algorithms in various performance indicators. The improved model achieves 96.7% accuracy in the corn disease image recognition task, and 96.4% accuracy in the jade fungus image recognition task. The main purpose of this paper is to provide information on how to create a convolutional neural network (CNN) for extracting features from EEG signals. Our task was to understand the primary aspects of creating and fine-tuning CNNs for various application scenarios. We considered the characteristics of EEG signals, coupled with an exploration of various signal processing and data preparation techniques. These techniques include noise reduction, filtering, encoding, decoding, and dimension reduction, among others. In addition, we conduct an in-depth analysis of well-known CNN architectures, categorizing them into four distinct groups: standard implementation, recurrent convolutional, decoder architecture, and combined architecture. In the realm of LiDAR-based place recognition tasks, three predominant methodologies have emerged: manually crafted feature descriptor-based methods, deep learning-based methods, and hybrid methods that combine the former two. Manually crafted feature descriptors often falter in reverse visits and confined indoor environments, while deep learning-based methods exhibit limitations in terms of generalization to distinct data domains. Hybrid methods tend to fix these problems, albeit at the cost of an expensive computational burden. In response to this, this paper introduces MixedSCNet, a novel hybrid approach designed to harness the strengths of manually crafted feature descriptors and deep learning models while keeping a relatively low computing overhead. MixedSCNet starts with constructing a BEV descriptor called MixedSC, which takes height, intensity, and smoothness into consideration simultaneously, thus offering a more comprehensive representation of the point cloud. Subsequently, MixedSC is fed into a compact Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), which further extracts high-level features, ultimately yielding a discriminative global point cloud descriptor. This descriptor is then employed for place retrieval, effectively bridging the gap between manually crafted feature descriptors and deep learning models. To substantiate the efficacy of this amalgamation, we undertake an extensive array of experiments on the KITTI and NCLT datasets. In response to the rapid advancements in facial manipulation technologies, particularly facilitated by Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Stable Diffusion-based methods, this paper explores the critical issue of deepfake content creation. The increasing accessibility of these tools necessitates robust detection methods to curb potential misuse. In this context, this paper investigates the potential of Vision Transformers (ViTs) for effective deepfake image detection, leveraging their capacity to extract global features. The aim of this article is to review the single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) segmentation methods used in patient-specific dosimetry of 177Lu molecular therapy. Notably, 177Lu-labelled radiopharmaceuticals are currently used in molecular therapy of metastatic neuroendocrine tumours (ligands for somatostatin receptors) and metastatic prostate adenocarcinomas (PSMA ligands). The proper segmentation of the organs at risk and tumours in targeted radionuclide therapy is an important part of the optimisation process of internal patient dosimetry in this kind of therapy. Because this is the first step in dosimetry assessments, on which further dose calculations are based, it is important to know the level of uncertainty that is associated with this part of the analysis. However, the robust quantification of SPECT images, which would ensure accurate dosimetry assessments, is very hard to achieve due to the intrinsic features of this device. In this article, papers on this topic were collected and reviewed to weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of the segmentation methods used in clinical practice. Degrading factors of SPECT images were also studied to assess their impact on the quantification of 177Lu therapy images. Our review of the recent literature gives an insight into this important topic. However, based on the PubMed and IEEE databases, only a few papers investigating segmentation methods in 177Lumolecular therapy were found. Although segmentation is an important step in internal dose calculations, this subject has been relatively lightly investigated for SPECT systems. This is mostly due to the inner features of SPECT. What is more, even when studies are conducted, they usually utilise the diagnostic radionuclide 99mTc and not a therapeutic one like 177Lu, which could be of concern regarding SPECT camera performance and its overall outcome on dosimetry. The measurement and analysis of vital signs are a subject of significant research interest, particularly for monitoring the driver's physiological state, which is of crucial importance for road safety. Various approaches have been proposed using contact techniques to measure vital signs. However, all of these methods are invasive and cumbersome for the driver. This paper proposes using a non-contact sensor based on continuous wave (CW) radar at 24 GHz to measure vital signs. We associate these measurements with distinct temporal neural networks to analyze the signals to detect and extract heart and respiration rates as well as classify the physiological state of the driver. This approach offers robust performance in estimating the exact values of heart and respiration rates and in classifying the driver's physiological state. It is non-invasive and requires no physical contact with the driver, making it particularly practical and safe. In the last 10 years, the demand for robot-based depalletization systems has constantly increased due to the growth of sectors such as logistics, storage, and supply chains. Since the scenarios are becoming more and more unstructured, characterized by unknown pallet layouts and stock-keeping unit shapes, the classical depalletization systems based on the knowledge of predefined positions within the pallet frame are going to be substituted by innovative and robust solutions based on 2D/3D vision and Deep Learning (DL) methods. In particular, the Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are deep networks that have proven to be effective in processing 2D/3D images, for example in the automatic object detection task, and robust to the possible variability among the data. However, deep neural networks need a big amount of data to be trained. In this context, whenever deep networks are involved in object detection for supporting depalletization systems, the dataset collection represents one of the main bottlenecks during the commissioning phase. The present work aims at comparing different training strategies to customize an object detection model aiming at minimizing the number of images required for model fitting, while ensuring reliable and robust performances. Different approaches based on a CNN for object detection are proposed, evaluated, and compared in terms of the F1-score. The study was conducted considering different starting conditions in terms of the neural network's weights, the datasets, and the training set sizes. The proposed approaches were evaluated on the detection of different kinds of paper boxes placed on an industrial pallet. Hazy weather reduces contrast, narrows the dynamic range, and blurs the details of the remote sensing image. Additionally, color fidelity deteriorates, causing color shifts and image distortion, thereby impairing the utility of remote sensing data. In this paper, we propose a lightweight remote sensing-image-dehazing network, named LRSDN. The network comprises two tailored, lightweight modules arranged in cascade. The first module, the axial depthwise convolution and residual learning block (ADRB), is for feature extraction, efficiently expanding the convolutional receptive field with little computational overhead. The second is a feature-calibration module based on the hybrid attention block (HAB), which integrates a simplified, yet effective channel attention module and a pixel attention module embedded with an observational prior. This joint attention mechanism effectively enhances the representation of haze features. Furthermore, we introduce a novel method for remote sensing hazy image synthesis using Perlin noise, facilitating the creation of a large-scale, fine-grained remote sensing haze image dataset (RSHD). Finally, we conduct both quantitative and qualitative comparison experiments on multiple publicly available datasets. The results demonstrate that the LRSDN algorithm achieves superior dehazing performance with fewer than 0.1M parameters. Simulating animal movement has long been a central focus of study in the area of wildlife behaviour studies. Conventional modelling methods have difficulties in accurately representing changes over time and space in the data, and they generally do not effectively use telemetry data. Thus, this paper introduces a new and innovative deep reinforcement learning technique known as AnimalEnvNet. This approach combines historical trajectory data and remote sensing images to create an animal agent using deep reinforcement learning techniques. It overcomes the constraints of conventional modelling approaches. We selected pandas as the subject of our research and carried out research using GPS trajectory data, Google Earth images, and Sentinel-2A remote sensing images. The experimental findings indicate that AnimalEnvNet reaches convergence during supervised learning training, attaining a minimal mean absolute error (MAE) of 28.4 m in single-step prediction when compared to actual trajectories. During reinforcement learning training, the agent has the capability to replicate animal locomotion for a maximum of 12 iterations, while maintaining an error margin of 1000 m. Image denoising and super-resolution play vital roles in imaging systems, greatly reducing the preprocessing cost of many AI techniques for object detection, segmentation, and tracking. Various advancements have been accomplished in this field, but progress is still needed. In this paper, we have proposed a novel technique named the Enhanced Learning Enriched Features (ELEF) mechanism using a deep convolutional neural network, which makes significant improvements to existing techniques. ELEF consists of two major processes: (1) Denoising, which removes the noise from images; and (2) Super-resolution, which improves the clarity and details of images. Features are learned through deep CNN and not through traditional algorithms so that we can better refine and enhance images. To effectively capture features, the network architecture adopted Dual Attention Units (DUs), which align with the Multi-Scale Residual Block (MSRB) for robust feature extraction, working sidewise with the feature-matching Selective Kernel Extraction (SKF). In addition, resolution mismatching cases are processed in detail to produce high-quality images. The effectiveness of the ELEF model is highlighted by the performance metrics, achieving a Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) of 42.99 and a Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) of 0.9889, which indicates the ability to carry out the desired high-quality image restoration and enhancement. Timely and accurate rainfall prediction is crucial to social life and economic activities. Because of the influence of numerous factors on rainfall, making precise predictions is challenging. In this study, the northern Xinjiang region of China is selected as the research area. Based on the pattern of rainfall in the local area and the needs of real life, rainfall is divided into four levels, namely 'no rain', 'light rain', 'moderate rain', and 'heavy rain and above', for rainfall levels nowcasting. To solve the problem that the existing model can only extract a single time dependence and cause the loss of some valuable information in rainfall data, a prediction model named DFFNet, which is based on dual-branch feature fusion, is proposed in this paper. The two branches of the model are composed of Transformer and CNN, which are used to extract time dependence and feature interaction in meteorological data, respectively. The features extracted from the two branches are fused for prediction. To verify the performance of DFFNet, the India public rainfall dataset and some sub-datasets in the UEA dataset are chosen for comparison. Compared with the baseline models, DFFNet achieves the best prediction performance on all the selected datasets; compared with the single-branch model, the training time consumption of DFFNet on the two rainfall datasets is reduced by 21% and 9.6%, respectively, and it has a faster convergence speed. In response to the challenge of timely fault identification in the spindle bearings of machine tools operating in complex environments, this study proposes a method based on a combination of infrared imaging with an Informer and a CNN + Swin Transformer. The aim is to achieve real-time monitoring of bearing faults, precise fault localization, and classification of fault severity. To accomplish this, an angular contact ball bearing was chosen as the research subject. Initially, an infrared image dataset was constructed, encompassing various fault positions and degrees, by simulating different forms of bearing faults. Subsequently, an Informer-based bearing temperature prediction model was established to select faulty bearing data. Lastly, the faulty data were input into the CNN + Swin Transformer model for bearing fault recognition and classification. The results demonstrate that the Informer model accurately identifies abnormal temperature rises during bearing operation, effectively screening out faulty bearings. Under steady-state conditions, the model achieves a classification accuracy of 97.8%. Furthermore, after employing the Informer screening process, the proposed model exhibits a recognition precision of 98.9%, surpassing other models such as CNN, SVM, and Swin Transformer, which are mentioned in this paper. Effective air quality prediction models are crucial for the timely prevention and control of air pollution. However, previous models often fail to fully consider air quality's temporal and spatial distribution characteristics. In this study, Xi'an City is used as the study area. Data from 1 January 2019 to 31 October 2020 are used as the training set, while data from 1 November 2020 to 31 December 2020 are used as the test set. This paper proposes a multi-time and multi-site air quality prediction model for Xi'an, leveraging a deep learning network model based on APSO-CNN-Bi-LSTM. The CNN model extracts the spatial features of the input data, the Bi-LSTM model extracts the time series features, and the PSO algorithm with adaptive inertia weight (APSO) optimizes the model's hyperparameters. The results show that the model achieves the best results in terms of MAE and RMSE. Compared to the PSO-SVR, BPTT, CNN-LSTM, and GA-ACO-BP models, the MAE improved by 9.375%, 6.667%, 2.276%, and 4.975%, while the RMSE improved by 8.371%, 8.217%, 6.327%, and 5.293%. This paper addresses the classification of images depicting the eruptive activity of Mount Etna, captured by a network of ground-based thermal cameras. The proposed approach utilizes Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), focusing on pretrained models. Eight popular pretrained neural networks underwent systematic evaluation, revealing their effectiveness in addressing the classification problem. The experimental results demonstrated that, following a retraining phase with a limited dataset, specific networks such as VGG-16 and AlexNet, achieved an impressive total accuracy of approximately 90 % . Notably, VGG-16 and AlexNet emerged as practical choices, exhibiting individual class accuracies exceeding 90 % . Floods cause disastrous damage to the environment, economy, and humanity. Flood losses can be reduced if adequate management is implemented in the pre-disaster period. Flood hazard maps comprise disaster risk information displayed on geo-location maps and the potential flood events that occur in an area. This paper proposes a spatiotemporal flood hazard map framework to generate a flood hazard map using spatiotemporal data. The framework has three processes: (1) temporal prediction, which uses the LSTM technique to predict water levels and rainfall for the next time; (2) spatial interpolation, which uses the IDW technique to estimate values; and (3) map generation, which uses the CNN technique to predict flood events and generate flood hazard maps. The study area is Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. The generated hazard map covers 20,107 km2. There are 14 water-level telemetry stations and 16 rain gauge stations. The proposed model accurately predicts water level and rainfall, as demonstrated by the evaluation results (RMSE, MAE, and R2). The generated map has a 95.25 % mean accuracy and a 97.25 % mean F1-score when compared to the actual flood event. Alzheimer's Disease (AD) poses a significant health risk globally, particularly among the elderly population. Recent studies underscore its prevalence, with over 50% of elderly Japanese facing a lifetime risk of dementia, primarily attributed to AD. As the most prevalent form of dementia, AD gradually erodes brain cells, leading to severe neurological decline. In this scenario, it is important to develop an automatic AD-detection system, and many researchers have been working to develop an AD-detection system by taking advantage of the advancement of deep learning (DL) techniques, which have shown promising results in various domains, including medical image analysis. However, existing approaches for AD detection often suffer from limited performance due to the complexities associated with training hierarchical convolutional neural networks (CNNs). In this paper, we introduce a novel multi-stage deep neural network architecture based on residual functions to address the limitations of existing AD-detection approaches. Inspired by the success of residual networks (ResNets) in image-classification tasks, our proposed system comprises five stages, each explicitly formulated to enhance feature effectiveness while maintaining model depth. Following feature extraction, a deep learning-based feature-selection module is applied to mitigate overfitting, incorporating batch normalization, dropout and fully connected layers. Subsequently, machine learning (ML)-based classification algorithms, including Support Vector Machines (SVM), Random Forest (RF) and SoftMax, are employed for classification tasks. Comprehensive evaluations conducted on three benchmark datasets, namely ADNI1: Complete 1Yr 1.5T, MIRAID and OASIS Kaggle, demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed model. Impressively, our model achieves accuracy rates of 99.47%, 99.10% and 99.70% for ADNI1: Complete 1Yr 1.5T, MIRAID and OASIS datasets, respectively, outperforming existing systems in binary class problems. Uyghur text detection and recognition in images with simple backgrounds is still a challenging task for Uyghur image content analysis. In this paper, we propose a new effective Uyghur text detection method based on channel-enhanced MSERs and the CNN classification model. In order to extract more complete text components, a new text candidate region extraction algorithm is put forward, which is based on the channel-enhanced MSERs according to the characteristics of Uyghur text. In order to effectively prune the non-text regions, we design a CNN classification network according to the LeNet-5, which gains the description characteristics automatically and avoids the tedious and low efficiency artificial characteristic extraction work. For Uyghur text recognition in images, we improved the traditional CRNN network, and to verify its effectiveness, the networks trained on a synthetic dataset and evaluated on the text recognition datasets. Tool wear condition monitoring is an important component of mechanical processing automation, and accurately identifying the wear status of tools can improve processing quality and production efficiency. This paper studied a new deep learning model, to identify the wear status of tools. The force signal was transformed into a two-dimensional image using continuous wavelet transform (CWT), short-time Fourier transform (STFT), and Gramian angular summation field (GASF) methods. The generated images were then fed into the proposed convolutional neural network (CNN) model for further analysis. The calculation results show that the accuracy of tool wear state recognition proposed in this paper was above 90%, which was higher than the accuracy of AlexNet, ResNet, and other models. The accuracy of the images generated using the CWT method and identified with the CNN model was the highest, which is attributed to the fact that the CWT method can extract local features of an image and is less affected by noise. Comparing the precision and recall values of the model, it was verified that the image obtained by the CWT method had the highest accuracy in identifying tool wear state. These results demonstrate the potential advantages of using a force signal transformed into a two-dimensional image for tool wear state recognition and of applying CNN models in this area. This paper presents a novel low-cost integrated system prototype, called School Violence Detection system (SVD), based on a 2D Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). It is used for classifying and identifying automatically violent actions in educational environments based on shallow cost hardware. Moreover, the paper fills the gap of real datasets in educational environments by proposing a new one, called Daily School Break dataset (DSB), containing original videos recorded in an Italian high school yard. The proposed CNN has been pre-trained with an ImageNet model and a transfer learning approach. To extend its capabilities, the DSB was enriched with online images representing students in school environments. Experimental results analyze the classification performances of the SVD and investigate how it performs through the proposed DSB dataset. The SVD, which achieves a recognition accuracy of 95%, is considered computably efficient and low-cost. Edge AI accelerators are utilized to accelerate the computation in edge AI devices such as image recognition sensors on robotics, door lockers, drones, and remote sensing satellites. Instead of using a general-purpose processor (GPP) or graphic processing unit (GPU), an edge AI accelerator brings a customized design to meet the requirements of the edge environment. The requirements include real-time processing, low-power consumption, and resource-awareness, including resources on field programmable gate array (FPGA) or limited application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) area. The system's reliability (e.g., permanent fault tolerance) is essential if the devices target radiation fields such as space and nuclear power stations. This paper proposes a dynamic reconfigurable column streaming-based convolution engine (DycSe) with programmable adder modules for low-power and resource-aware edge AI accelerators to meet the requirements. The proposed DycSe design does not target the FPGA platform only. Instead, it is an intellectual property (IP) core design. The FPGA platform used in this paper is for prototyping the design evaluation. This paper uses the Vivado synthesis tool to evaluate the power consumption and resource usage of DycSe. Since the synthesis tool is limited to giving the final complete system result in the designing stage, we compare DycSe to a commercial edge AI accelerator for cross-reference with other state-of-the-art works. The commercial architecture shares the competitive performance within the low-power ultra-small (LPUS) edge AI scopes. In this paper, research was conducted on Deep Learning Wavefront Sensing (DLWS) neural networks using simulated atmospheric turbulence datasets, and a novel DLWS was proposed based on attention mechanisms and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). The study encompassed both indoor experiments and kilometer-range laser transmission experiments employing DLWS. In terms of indoor experiments, data were collected and training was performed on the platform built by us. Subsequent comparative experiments with the Shack-Hartmann Wavefront Sensing (SHWS) method revealed that our DLWS model achieved accuracy on par with SHWS. For the kilometer-scale experiments, we directly applied the DLWS model obtained from the indoor platform, eliminating the need for new data collection or additional training. The DLWS predicts the wavefront from the beacon light PSF in real time and then uses it for aberration correction of the emitted laser. The results demonstrate a substantial improvement in the average peak intensity of the light spot at the target position after closed-loop correction, with a remarkable increase of 5.35 times compared to the open-loop configuration. The current mainstream intrusion detection models often have a high false negative rate, significantly affecting intrusion detection systems' (IDSs) practicability. To address this issue, we propose an intrusion detection model based on a multi-scale one-dimensional convolutional neural network module (MS1DCNN), an efficient channel attention module (ECA), and two bidirectional long short-term memory modules (BiLSTMs). The proposed hybrid MS1DCNN-ECA-BiLSTM model uses the MS1DCNN module to extract features with a different granularity from the input data and uses the ECA module to enhance the weight of important features. Finally, the model carries out sequence learning through two BiLSTM layers. We use the dung beetle optimizer (DBO) to optimize the hyperparameters in the model to obtain better classification results. Additionally, we use the synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) to fill several samples to reduce the local false negative rate. In this paper, we train and test the model using accurate network data from a water storage industrial control system. In the multi-classification experiment, the model's accuracy was 97.04%, the precision was 97.17%, and the false negative rate was 2.95%; in the binary classification experiment, the accuracy and false negative rate were 99.30% and 0.7%. Crowd counting, as a basic computer vision task, plays an important role in many fields such as video surveillance, accident prediction, public security, and intelligent transportation. At present, crowd counting tasks face various challenges. Firstly, due to the diversity of crowd distribution and increasing population density, there is a phenomenon of large-scale crowd aggregation in public places, sports stadiums, and stations, resulting in very serious occlusion. Secondly, when annotating large-scale datasets, positioning errors can also easily affect training results. In addition, the size of human head targets in dense images is not consistent, making it difficult to identify both near and far targets using only one network simultaneously. The existing crowd counting methods mainly use density plot regression methods. However, this framework does not distinguish the features between distant and near targets and cannot adaptively respond to scale changes. Therefore, the detection performance in areas with sparse population distribution is not good. To solve such problems, we propose an adaptive multi-scale far and near distance network based on the convolutional neural network (CNN) framework for counting dense populations and achieving a good balance between accuracy, inference speed, and performance. However, on the feature level, in order to enable the model to distinguish the differences between near and far features, we use stacked convolution layers to deepen the depth of the network, allocate different receptive fields according to the distance between the target and the camera, and fuse the features between nearby targets to enhance the feature extraction ability of pedestrians under nearby targets. Secondly, depth information is used to distinguish distant and near targets of different scales and the original image is cut into four different patches to perform pixel-level adaptive modeling on the population. In addition, we add density normalized average precision (nAP) indicators to analyze the accuracy of our method in spatial positioning. This paper validates the effectiveness of NF-Net on three challenging benchmarks in Shanghai Tech Part A and B, UCF_ CC_50, and UCF-QNRF datasets. Compared with SOTA, it has more significant performance in various scenarios. Mineral particle size is an important parameter in the mineral beneficiation process. In industrial processes, the grinding process produces pulp with qualified particle size for subsequent flotation processes. In this paper, a hierarchical intelligent control method for mineral particle size based on machine learning is proposed. In the machine learning layer, artificial intelligence technologies such as long and short memory neural networks (LSTM) and convolution neural networks (CNN) are used to solve the multi-source ore blending prediction and intelligent classification of dry and rainy season conditions, and then the ore-feeding intelligent expert control system and grinding process intelligent expert system are used to coordinate the production of semi-autogenous mill and Ball mill and Hydrocyclone (SAB) process and intelligently adjust the control parameters of DCS layer. This paper presents the practical application of the method in the SAB production process of an international mine to realize automation and intelligence. Introduction: Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the deadliest and most common causes of malignancy and death in men worldwide, with a higher prevalence and mortality in developing countries specifically. Factors such as age, family history, race and certain genetic mutations are some of the factors contributing to the occurrence of PCa in men. Recent advances in technology and algorithms gave rise to the computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) of PCa. With the availability of medical image datasets and emerging trends in state-of-the-art machine and deep learning techniques, there has been a growth in recent related publications. Materials and Methods: In this study, we present a systematic review of PCa diagnosis with medical images using machine learning and deep learning techniques. We conducted a thorough review of the relevant studies indexed in four databases (IEEE, PubMed, Springer and ScienceDirect) using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. With well-defined search terms, a total of 608 articles were identified, and 77 met the final inclusion criteria. The key elements in the included papers are presented and conclusions are drawn from them. Results: The findings show that the United States has the most research in PCa diagnosis with machine learning, Magnetic Resonance Images are the most used datasets and transfer learning is the most used method of diagnosing PCa in recent times. In addition, some available PCa datasets and some key considerations for the choice of loss function in the deep learning models are presented. The limitations and lessons learnt are discussed, and some key recommendations are made. Conclusion: The discoveries and the conclusions of this work are organized so as to enable researchers in the same domain to use this work and make crucial implementation decisions. The aero-engine system is complex, and the working environment is harsh. As the fundamental component of the aero-engine control system, the sensor must monitor its health status. Traditional sensor fault detection algorithms often have many parameters, complex architecture, and low detection accuracy. Aiming at this problem, a convolutional neural network (CNN) whose basic unit is an inception block composed of convolution kernels of different sizes in parallel is proposed. The network fully extracts redundant analytical information between sensors through different size convolution kernels and uses it for aero-engine sensor fault detection. On the sensor failure dataset generated by the Monte Carlo simulation method, the detection accuracy of Inception-CNN is 95.41%, which improves the prediction accuracy by 17.27% and 12.69% compared with the best-performing non-neural network algorithm and simple BP neural networks tested in the paper, respectively. In addition, the method simplifies the traditional fault detection unit composed of multiple fusion algorithms into one detection algorithm, which reduces the complexity of the algorithm. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the method are verified in two aspects of the typical sensor fault detection effect and fault detection and isolation process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the field of face biometrics, finding the identity of a person in an image is most researched, but there are other, soft biometric information that are equally as important, such as age, gender, ethnicity or emotion. Nowadays, ethnicity classification has a wide application area and is a prolific area of research. This paper gives an overview of recent advances in ethnicity classification with focus on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and proposes a new ethnicity classification method using only the middle part of the face and CNN. The paper also compares the differences in results of CNN with and without plotted landmarks. The proposed model was tested using holdout testing method on UTKFace dataset and FairFace dataset. The accuracy of the model was 80.34% for classification into five classes and 61.74% for classification into seven classes, which is slightly better than state-of-the-art, but it is also important to note that results in this paper are obtained by using only the middle part of the face which reduces the time and resources necessary. The normal operation of the marine diesel engine is of great significance to ensure the normal navigation of the ship. Predicting its operation state and judging whether the diesel engine is in the abnormal state in advance can guarantee the safe navigation of the vessel. In this paper, combining the feature extraction ability of the convolutional neural network (CNN) and the time series data prediction ability of the bidirectional gated recurrent unit (BiGRU), a marine diesel engine exhaust temperature prediction model is constructed. The results show that the mean square error (MSE) of the prediction model is 0.1156, the average absolute error (MAE) is 0.2501, and the average absolute percentage error (MAPE) is 0.0005336. Then, according to the residual distribution between the predicted value and the actual value of the model output and the standard deviation of the residual calculated by using the sliding window, we set the alarm threshold, where the upper limit of residual error is 1 and the lower limit is 1. The upper limit of the standard deviation is 0.604. Finally, we used the data set under abnormal conditions for experimental verification. The results show that the method can accurately determine the fault early warning of the marine diesel engine and provides a new reference for the health management of intelligent marine equipment. In this paper, anomaly detection of wheel flats based on signal processing and deep learning techniques is analyzed. Wheel flats mostly affect running stability and ride comfort. Currently, domestic railway companies visually inspect wheel flats one by one with their eyes after railway vehicles enter the railway depots for maintenance. Therefore, CBM (Condition-Based Maintenance) is required for wheel flats resolution. Anomaly detection for wheel flat signals of railway vehicles using Order analysis and STFT (Short Time Fourier Transform) is studied in this paper. In the case of railway vehicles, it is not easy to obtain actual failure data through running vehicles in a university laboratory due to safety and cost issues. Therefore, vibration-induced acceleration was obtained using a multibody dynamics simulation software, SIMPACK. This method is also proved in the other paper by rig tests. In addition, since the noise signal was not included in the simulated vibration, the noise signal obtained from the Seoul Metro Subway Line 7 vehicle was overlapped with the simulated one. Finally, to improve the performance of both detection rate and real-time of characteristics based on existing LeNet-5 architectures, spectrogram images transformed from time domain data were proceeded with the LeNet deep learning model modified with the pooling method and activation function.
