Abstract
In this article, former Clinton administration China specialist, Kenneth Lieberthal, is advising U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for making climate change the key topic on the policy agenda for Washington-Beijing ties. Lieberthal, now at the Brookings Institution, said in a recent paper that China's environment is in bad shape and threatens the pace of economic growth. According to Lieberthal, the environmental problem is a threat to both China and the U.S.
