Background: The advent of Personalized Medicine (PM) holds significant promise in revolutionizing healthcare by tailoring treatments to individual patients based on their data. However, its successful implementation requires the seamless integration of innovative technologies and presents formidable challenges in terms of sustainability. To tackle these challenges head-on, the International Consortium for Personalized Medicine (ICPerMed) was established, and the IC2PerMed project, as part of this consortium, seeks to foster collaboration between the European Union (EU) and China in the field of Personalized Medicine. Based on the results collected by the project, the objective of this study is to discern the key priorities for the implementation of Personalised Medicine concerning Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Big Data and digital solutions, with a particular emphasis on data management and protection. Methods: A Delphi survey was conducted to gather expert's consensus on the main priorities for actions on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Big Data and digital solutions in the field of Personalized Medicine. Results: The survey identified seven priorities in the area of Big Data and digital solutions, including data interoperability, standards, security measures, and international partnerships. Additionally, twelve priorities were identified for the innovation-to-market process, emphasizing cost-effectiveness, need assessment, and value definition in resource allocation. Conclusions: The effective implementation of new technologies in Personalized Medicine research and practice is essential for the advancement of healthcare systems in both the European and Chinese contexts. The identified priorities play a pivotal role in promoting the sustainability of health systems and driving innovation in the implementation of Personalized Medicine. Addressing challenges related to data interoperability, standards, security, international collaboration, cost-effectiveness, and value assessment is of utmost importance in order to propel the progress of Personalized Medicine in healthcare systems. What constitutes good intelligence is best understood by practitioners but has not been explored through empirical analysis and in the context of a digital age. This paper presents the first research inside all the agencies that form the Australian National Intelligence Community exploring how they are impacted by big data. Intelligence is often opaque to outsiders, yet understanding the characteristics of good intelligence is important to societies that rely on intelligence agencies for national security. This paper reflects the previously unheard perspectives of members of the agencies that form the Australian National Intelligence Community – where there is a significant empirical gap. Semi-structured interviews with 47 participants explored the impact of big data on intelligence and decision-making in Australia. This paper finds that intelligence must meet the following characteristics, many established in historical literature, in order to be considered good intelligence; (i) timely, (ii) purposeful, (iii) actionable, (iv) accurate, (v) provides value-add for an intended audience, and, (vi) is unbiased. Digitalization and greening are key themes in global development, the manufacturing industry, as a major sector of energy consumption and carbon emissions, is in urgent need of transformation to realize energy conservation and emission reduction, digital transformation provides an opportunity for its green development. However, whether digital transformation can restrain the carbon emission intensity (CEI) of enterprises is still controversial. Based on the data of China's A‐share manufacturing listed companies from 2013 to 2020, this paper uses fixed effect model and intermediary effect model to explore the relationship between digital transformation and enterprise CEI and the influence path. the results show that: (1) Digital transformation has significantly reduced the CEI of manufacturing enterprises. (2) Mechanism analysis indicates that green technological innovation and resource allocation efficiency play a chain mediating role in this relationship. (3) Heterogeneity analysis shows that the carbon emission reduction effect of digital transformation is more significant when enterprises belong to an energy‐intensive manufacturing industry or face strong environmental regulations and industry competition. The analysis of this paper not only deepens enterprises' understanding of digital transformation and green development but also provides a policy basis for China to advocate the coordinated development of the digital economy and green economy. Compared with other health disciplines, there is a stagnation in technological innovation in the field of clinical neuropsychology. Traditional paper-and-pencil tests have a number of shortcomings, such as low-frequency data collection and limitations in ecological validity. While computerized cognitive assessment may help overcome some of these issues, current computerized paradigms do not address the majority of these limitations. In this paper, we review recent literature on the applications of novel digital health approaches, including ecological momentary assessment, smartphone-based assessment and sensors, wearable devices, passive driving sensors, smart homes, voice biomarkers, and electronic health record mining, in neurological populations. We describe how each digital tool may be applied to neurologic care and overcome limitations of traditional neuropsychological assessment. Over the past decade, virtual museums have rapidly evolved due to technological advancements, and after the COVID-19 disruption grew in importance, this sustained the innovation of storytelling and the digital transformation of touristic practices. This paper presents the outcomes of a cooperation project: a virtual museum for eight ports in the Adriatic area, constituting notable examples of widespread heritage. The platform Adrijo is a multi-scalar, multilayer virtual museum that leverages the concept of geo-storytelling and e-tourism, also applying two augmented reality technologies for site-specific installations. In addition to the project results, an assessment of the different levels and experiences is provided, based on qualitative and qualitative analysis. As a re-usable resource, the technical tender specification from the methodological work package is presented, encompassing details of the technology, structure, functionalities, costs, timing for realization, and accessibility for disabled people. This paper proposes, through the critical analysis of the VM, a methodology that can be reused in other contexts, also providing toolkits for both its implementation and user satisfaction surveys, as well as for analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of some specific examples. Digital technologies, such as big data, the Internet, and artificial intelligence, are rapidly advancing. Photovoltaic building materials enterprises (PBMEs) have been leveraging digital transformation to enhance their technological innovation capabilities and gain a competitive edge. In the global context of transitioning towards a low-carbon economy, the deep integration of digital technology offers a new solution for the green transformation of PBMEs. The synergy between green traction digitalization and digitalization enables green practices, making collaborative integration crucial for the far-reaching development of PBMEs. Within the framework of China's "double carbon" policy, domestic PBMEs are experiencing exponential growth, where digital green innovation (DGI) has become their primary objective. In this DGI context, selecting the right partners is the first step that significantly impacts the efficiency and effectiveness of DGI implementation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to assist PBMEs in selecting high-quality partners, promoting the DGI process, enhancing technological innovation capabilities, and gaining a competitive advantage. To achieve this, the paper proposes constructing a theoretical framework for evaluating the DGI cooperation ability of PBMEs using the theory of ecological reciprocity. Based on this framework, an evaluation index system is established to assess the DGI cooperation ability of potential partners The interval intuitionistic fuzzy evaluation method, combined with a double combination weighting approach, is employed to evaluate the DGI ability of selected partners. Furthermore, by applying field theory, a dynamic selection model for strategic alliance partners is developed to aid PBMEs in selecting high-quality partners for DGI and facilitating the DGI process. The research findings indicate that: i) The evaluation standard framework for DGI cooperation ability of PBMEs encompasses "symbiosis," "mutualism," and "regeneration," along with the crucial environmental element of mutual trust. ii) The evaluation method based on double combination weighting effectively assesses the comprehensive DGI capabilities of selected PBME partners. The application of field theory enables scientific and effective dynamic partner selection for PBMEs through resource complementarity. iii) The proposed framework and partner selection model can be employed in real partner selection scenarios for PBMEs, allowing them to choose high-quality partners, enhance their DGI capabilities, and attain practical selection outcomes. This paper presents novel partner selection model that integrates decision rules and resource complementarity, enabling PBMEs to efficiently select DGI partners from a pool of potential candidates and improve their innovation efficiency. The utilization of the double combination weighting method and field theory in the partner selection paradigm of D extends the theoretical foundation, while the establishment of the DGI capability evaluation index system for PBME partners contributes to empirical applications. This paper addresses the need for theoretical advancements in understanding team processes and the impact of technology on teams. Specifically, it examines the use of digital collaboration technologies by organizational teams and their effect on team communication and collaboration. Technological change has brought a new dimension to the interaction between civic protest and policing in post-Soviet societies. Social media has had a revolutionary impact on protests during the last decade, mobilising citizens to resist state corruption and despotism, notably in states like Armenia, the Republic of Moldova and Belarus. Enhanced surveillance techniques and new communication channels have, at the same time, changed policing techniques and the modes of interaction between citizens and the police. This article examines the dynamics of transformed protest and policing practices, particularly of public order police, in the context of digitisation and social/political protest and change. It sheds light on the transformation of citizen-police relations and, ultimately, on the repercussions this has on the respective polities. The principal findings of the paper reveal that digital technology has been an important element in the evolution of practices of policing and police reform across the region. Yet, it is only one aspect of many in the somewhat divergent development of citizen-police relations. So far, it has produced rather negative effects instead of having been conducive to the mentality and ethos of the police. Geographers have long been interested in popular culture, exploring everything from music and film, to fashion and sport. However, there remain some gaps in the field with some of the biggest and most widely consumed genres of popular culture suffering from neglect. Given the pace of technological change, geographers have been noticeably slow to come to grips with new digital popular media. This special issue presents work that interrogates popular culture ranging from the new to the old for its role as a vector for, or entry point into, encounters with places and people, and as a producer of spatiality and social relations. This editorial uses the concept of (em)placement to identify the complex overlaps, imbrications, and interlockings between social, cultural, and technological actors/actants. (Em)placement is also deployed to expand the space for popular culture as an object of study in geography in order to foster more diverse engagements, and the freedom to engage, with popular culture in the discipline. In doing so, we highlight contributions to cultural geography, bringing into focus the ways in which popular culture has been redefined in a time of heightened digital and deterritorialized engagement alongside restrictions on physical interaction enforced during the COVID-19 lockdowns. In the wave of the digital era, Building Information Modelling (BIM) has emerged as the primary tool for intelligent construction and digital transformation in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. China's focus on policy guidance for the dissemination and application of BIM technology has promoted high-quality development and technological innovation in the AEC industry. However, few studies have described the multi-dimensional evolution picture of BIM technology policy in China, and lack of effective grasp and prediction of policy evolution law and future direction. An improved policy quantitative analysis framework is built using natural language processing (NLP) based on deep learning in this paper. The dynamic characteristics of 242 Chinese BIM technology policy documents from 1998 to 2022 in the PKULAW database are quantitatively analyzed by the framework, and the four-stage integrated evolution of Chinese BIM technology policy is quantitatively mapped in a visual form through network analysis and dynamic topic model (DTM). Furthermore, this research conducts a comprehensive discussion from three dimensions, providing valuable insights for policy makers and industry participants in China. The findings contribute to the deep integration of policy optimization and the construction industry, while also aiming to share China's experience in BIM technology governance with other countries and regions. The digital economy is now the expected norm for economic development, warranting strategic importance for enterprise digital transformation. Nonetheless, enterprises have a lengthy journey to embark upon for digital transformation. On the one hand, resource-based demands pose a significant challenge due to the development characteristics of the initiative; on the other hand, excessive emphasis on economic gains may result in severe environmental issues. Therefore, this paper examines whether green innovation, which combines environmental and economic benefits, can effectively address the above dilemma. The study includes all A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2020 as the research sample, and empirically investigates the impact of green innovation on enterprise digital transformation and its mechanism based on resource-based view. The study concluded that (i) green innovation has a significant positive impact on corporate digital transformation performance, exhibiting asymmetric effects. The robustness tests confirmed the validity of the findings. (ii) Enterprises that actively engage in green innovation can effectively reduce their financial constraints, enhance their operational capacity, and enable the efficient allocation of resources, thereby promoting digital transformation within the enterprise. (iii) There is a regional imbalance in the conversion of green innovation performance into economic performance. The aforementioned results offer fresh insights for investigating the connection between green innovation and digital transformation. This paper presents a reflective examination of challenges to design and communication from the current digital revolution, using the prism of a 1980s television advertisement for the Yellow Pages. Originating at the same time as the height of the desktop publishing revolution, the advert illuminates a transitional period in the evolution of digital technology and media communications, marked by changing user practices and experiences. The advert's storyline follows a young man's quest to convert an old cine film (of his father) to videotape for his mother's birthday, in the process showcasing the impending shift from analogue to digital technologies and encapsulating the multifaceted implications and transitional challenges of the period. The hybrid setting of technologies, alongside the tensions, confusion and ambiguities of different stakeholders metaphorically symbolises and can be contrasted alongside, the challenges impacting the design, media and communications industry of the period and can inform reflection on contemporary challenges. Engaging with the narrative, the Yellow Pages advert is used as a creative device which functions as a cultural, historical, narrative lens with which to contrast against contemporary (and future) transitional challenges within the digital revolution. Humanistic Buddhism is one of the mainstreams of modern Buddhism, with special emphasis on the humanistic dimension. With the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Humanistic Buddhism is also at an important stage of modernization and transformation, thus facing a continuous negotiation between religious values and technological innovations. This paper first argues that AI is technically beneficial to the propagation of Buddhism by citing several cases in which AI technology has been used in Buddhism. Then, by comparing Master Hsing Yun's Buddhist ethics to "Posthuman" ethics, it points out that the theories of Humanistic Buddhism share similarities with AI and Posthuman ethics. Among them, Master Hsing Yun's theory of "the nature of insentient beings" provides an important theoretical reference for the question of "whether AI can become a Buddha". From the technical and ethical dimensions, it points out that the interaction between Humanistic Buddhism and AI can promote original uses or implementations of AI technology. However, it should also be noted that compared to the cases of "Artificial Narrow Intelligence"discussed in the paper, the "Strong AI" could lead to much more ethical crises. It is also likely to cause the cult of science and technology, and thus subvert the humanistic tradition of Buddhism with a new instrumental rationality. In addition, there are some potential pitfalls that Humanistic Buddhism may encounter when using AI. Hence, while it is necessary to encourage the use of technologies such as AI in contemporary Buddhism, it is also important for Buddhism to keep a critical distance from digital technologies. This paper critically and empirically explores how planning professionals understand a digital engagement tool and its use in effective and meaningful public participation. Through a series of focus groups where planners engaged with a Digital Participation Model (DPM), the research studied the functionality of this digital tool in relation to key communicative principles such as communication, comprehension and transparency. In doing so, this paper contributes to critical literature on the implications and politics of generalised technology developments for planning participation. Additionally, it offers a conceptual lens to critically guide application of digital engagement tools with the aim of reducing the risk that new technology dictates how we understand participatory engagement. To promote high-quality economic development, China continues to strengthen its network infrastructure, but it is unclear how this affects the regional ecosystem. To clarify the impact direction, based on the weekly data of river pollution in China from 2004 to 2018, this paper regards the Broadband China (BC) strategy as a quasi-natural experiment and uses a difference-in-difference (DID) model for empirical analysis. The study found that network infrastructure construction significantly exacerbates river pollution. After a series of robustness tests, such as the placebo test and propensity score matching DID (PSM-DID), this research conclusion still holds. The impact of network infrastructure construction on river pollution is more visible in economically developed regions as well as cities with a higher level of digital economy development. The mechanism analysis confirms that during the sample period, network infrastructure construction led to secondary industry agglomeration but did not have a significant impact on innovation ability or environmental regulation, thus leading to the continuous intensification of river pollution. Many forms of Intangible Culture Heritage (ICH) are fast disappearing. The Lantern Festival is an important part of Chinese tradition and a critical ICH of Taiwan. However, few young people attend ICH activities. Given the importance of ICH education, this study describes what participants learned after lantern exhibitions that combined Augmented Reality (AR), mobile websites, and Paper-based Exhibition Brochures. This study evaluated what a cohort of college students (n = 115) learned about ICH through experiments and questionnaires. The results show that the public understood ICH better through digital technology. All participants thought that applying AR to ICH was good for the public to gain more information on lantern culture, although it took a lot of time to learn the new technology. The results also encouraged the application of AR to engage in ICH education. Therefore, a large number of digital technologies that are popular among young people should be used as part of ICH education in order to improve their cultural awareness and learning motivation. Information and communication technology (ICT) threats, involving malicious use of ICTs, pose substantial risks to global security and stability. These threats, emanating from State and non-State actors, endanger economic growth, societal well-being, and human safety. The existing international legal framework struggles to adequately confront these challenges, resulting in issues concerning State sovereignty, cyber-attacks on critical infrastructure, and the emergence of cyberspace sovereignty. Cyber-attacks targeting key infrastructure can undermine sovereignty by aiding another State's territorial control. The enforcement of cyberspace legislation, whether regional or intra-State, can infringe upon other States' sovereignty due to cross-border repercussions. Despite the presence of numerous international and regional regulations, enforcement remains lacking. The concept of cyberspace sovereignty has arisen with technological advancements, signifying a need for digital realm sovereignty. Yet, this form of sovereignty is narrower compared to territorial sovereignty. This article delves into the nexus between international law, State sovereignty, and ICT threats, along with the progression of cyberspace sovereignty. Through qualitative analysis of primary and secondary sources, it examines the application of existing international law in the digital landscape. We can no longer realise images solely through semiotic theories of interpretation and judgement fixed to earlier modes of communication, such as print. Instead, we engage with images through various networked digital devices and online social interactions. These engagements offer many possible experiences with images, some of which we have agency and others that are purely autonomic and some interactions resembling a healthy-bodied manifestation of visual agnosia or the loss of ability to recognise and identify. This paper utilises research from the 'Fast Image' study, a study of graphic design students and practitioners and their views on photographic image use, comparing print and online media. The author uses an interpretive approach supported by mixed data-gathering methods, including photo-elicitation, interviews and semi-structured questions. This discussion encourages advancing visual literacy and visual culture discourses to incorporate a Neurophenomenological approach toward understanding the effects of emerging technologies and viewing environments on photographic image use. The crafts sector, traditionally characterized by its adherence to heritage and small-scale familial enterprises, confronts an array of unprecedented challenges stemming from rapid technological advancement, globalization, climate change, and shifting demographics. This article presents a pioneering investigation into the profound and transformative effects of digitalization on the crafts sector, offering novel insights into the future trajectory of this industry. Through an explorative approach, we critically examine and interrogate the social imaginary underpinning the crafts sector, shedding light on the intricate interplay between tradition and innovation. Leveraging an inter- and transdisciplinary framework, our research brings together academics, experts, and practitioners from diverse regions in Italy and Austria to explore the nexus of digitalization and craft futures. We introduce three future scenarios for the crafts sector, each delineating varying degrees of digitalization and their potential implications. Employing a mixed-method approach encompassing expert interviews, a Delphi survey, focus groups, and scenario development, our study offers a comprehensive exploration of the multifaceted landscape of craft futures. Furthermore, through the visualization of these scenarios, we provide a tangible platform for envisioning and engaging with the myriad possibilities that lie ahead. By synthesizing innovative methodologies from future studies and social imaginaries with a specific focus on the crafts sector, our research offers a robust analytical framework for navigating the complex dynamics of digitalization and envisioning transformative futures. With the new challenges and crises facing agriculture, digitalization and green transformation have become important ways to solve the problems. This paper uses an international economics perspective to chart a new path for sustainable agricultural development. Specifically, it analyzes whether two-way international direct investment (FDI) can facilitate agricultural digital-green fusion(DGF)? Using a sample of 31 provinces (autonomous regions) from 2012 to 2021, this study finds: (1) Two-way FDI can significantly contribute to agriculture's DGF. (2) In the mechanism test, it is proved that two-way FDI can promote agriculture's DGF level by promoting green technology innovation capacity and overall regional technology innovation capacity. (3) The positive effects of two-way FDI are prominent in the eastern and central regions, coastal regions, and economically developed areas. (4) In the spatial Durbin model, the local two-way FDI growth improves agriculture's DGF level in the surrounding areas to a certain extent. The government is advised to prioritize openness, foster an environment for technological innovation, leverage spatial radiation for agricultural DGF, and advance digitally empowered agricultural modernization. This paper empirically investigates the impact of corporate digital transformation on total factor productivity and the mechanism of action, using A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2011–2021 as the research sample, and found that the digital transformation of companies significantly improves total factor productivity, with the plausibility of the findings being verified by a series of robustness tests. Based on the heterogeneity study, it is found that such effect is stronger for private companies, non-high-tech companies, and companies with a high degree of industry competition. The mechanism test indicates that digital transformation facilitates total factor productivity through four ways: strengthening company technological innovation, reducing operational costs, increasing resource allocation efficiency, and improving human capital structure. To promote the green and sustainable development of the foundry industry, it is necessary to further explore the new method, new technology, and new equipment for green foundry. In this paper, an innovative green casting method is proposed. The digital frozen sand casting technology uses water as the binder to replace the organic/inorganic binder for casting at low temperature, which solves the problems of difficult sand recovery and harmful gas emission during the casting process and realizes the high-performance green casting of complex castings. The green casting technology of digital frozen sand mold is a method to produce sand mold by freezing cutting and printing, and to obtain typical parts by mold assembling and pouring. In this paper, the basic theory, key technologies, and system equipment of frozen sand paving are systematically studied, and the application verification research is carried out on typical aluminum alloy parts. The digital economy is developing rapidly worldwide, which is of great strategic significance in leading and driving the process of high-quality and high-efficiency development of the economy. It has gradually become a new engine to promote China's economic growth. Therefore, it is vital to establish a digital economy indicator system. In this context, according to the connotation of digital economy, comprehensively consider the four dimensions of digital foundation, digital application, digital innovation and digital benefit, and build a full-scale digital economy indicator system. However, some previous literature proposed operating the K-means clustering algorithm in optimizing the index system. The algorithm, susceptible to the initial selection of cluster center, generates completely different clustering results with other random seed points and is thus unsuitable for optimizing the index system. Based on this, the advantages of GRA, SA, and K-means algorithms are combined to propose a K-means-SA algorithm that can obtain the global optimal solution. Then, by combining the K-means SA algorithm and the rough set algorithm, the constructed index system is further optimized. Ultimately, it establishes a set of all-round, multi-system and multi-dimensional digital economy index systems, which is of great reference significance for formulating relevant policies, provides scientific index support for the subsequent extension of digital economy theory, and promotes the benign growth of the worldwide economy. This paper explores the impact of technological advances and digital transformations, with a particular focus on the "future of work" and its implications for lifelong learning and adult working learners. We emphasize the pressing need for human‐centric solutions to address complex human challenges that technology alone cannot resolve, such as access to education, socioeconomic disparities, and cultural barriers. Drawing on articles in this issue, we advocate for cultivating improved human capabilities among systems, organizations, leaders, educators, and learners to navigate the accelerating technological and social transformations in work and education. Additionally, this paper underscores the significance of educators, policymakers, and advocates in serving the lifelong learning needs of adult working learners, while also highlighting the need for more agile and pragmatic strategies. Digital transformation that characterized by big data and artificial intelligence has brought unprecedented opportunities and challenges for enterprise developing. Thus, the possible economic impact and consequences of enterprise digital transformation on the enterprise itself, industry development, and economic operation have become a key topic of concern for governments and scholars. This paper theoretically illustrates the role of digital transformation in breaking industry and regional monopolies based on the concept of enterprise digital transformation. Using data of management discussion and analysis word frequencies of Chinese listed companies from 2009 to 2019, this paper identifies the intensity of digital transformation at the firm level and empirically tests the theoretical hypotheses. The study finds that corporate digital transformation significantly improves firm performance and be beneficial for breaking industry and regional monopolies. The further mechanism studying finds that corporate digital transformation significantly increases the innovation input and output of enterprises through the innovation effect, which ultimately promotes the improvement of corporate performance and facilitates the leapfrog development of enterprises. Industry 4.0 refers to the digital transformation in the manufacturing domain through new technology. Currently, it expands well beyond manufacturing, affecting many areas of life and posing implications for all types of business. This paper focuses on the relationships between Industry 4.0 and Healthcare which transitions to increased interconnectivity, automation and smart decision making. The integration context of Industry 4.0 into Healthcare is only partly understood. Little was done until now to consolidate what is known on the integration benefits and the challenges. This article reports results of a systematic mapping study that analysed 69 papers to extract knowledge about the concepts of Industry 4.0 and the emerging Healthcare 4.0., and the relationships between them. We found 10 different perspectives of Healthcare 4.0, ranging from strategic to tactical and operational levels. Next, our results show: (i) nine applications of Industry 4.0 in the Healthcare domain: Augmented Reality and Simulation, Autonomous Robotics, Cybersecurity, Big Data Analytics, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Additive Manufacturing and Systems Integration; and (ii) 10 benefits and nine challenges in Healthcare 4.0. The most frequently mentioned benefits are patients' diagnosis, monitoring, treatment, and financial benefits. Environmental audit is regarded as a kind of voluntary regulation and an important tool for environmental certification. This paper aims to investigate the impact of environmental audit on innovation strategy of enterprise in the short and long term, separately. Samples and dataset are established by 437 listed companies in China and their business and environmental data from 2009 to 2020, respectively. To identify the innovation strategy accurately, the innovation strategy of enterprise is divided into technology introduction, independent innovation, and technology cooperation. Environmental audit is selected as a proxy variable of voluntary environmental regulation. The results show that environmental audit positively affects technology introduction, independent innovation, and technology cooperation. Further, the sample companies are divided into two groups according to pollution intensity, and it finds that high-pollution enterprises are more inclined to technology cooperation and technology introduction in the short term. For these enterprises, they will not continue to upgrade technology in the long term after meeting environmental requirements. For low-pollution enterprises, the positive effect of environmental audit on innovation strategy is sustained, no matter in the long or short term. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate how the digital competence of academicians influences students' engagement in learning activities in the face of the pandemic outbreak. In addition to this, the paper investigates how digital competence influences each dimension of student engagement (cognitive, affective and behavioural). Design/methodology/approach: A cross-sectional, quantitative and explanatory research design was used to conduct the study. Data were gathered with an adopted questionnaire administered to a randomly selected sample of 500 university faculty members who were not digitally literate prior to the outbreak of the pandemic. Apart from the goodness of data tests, inferential statistics were applied to test hypotheses. Findings: Results indicate a significant influence of teachers' digital competence on student engagement and the pandemic outbreak positively moderates the relationship. Digital competence equally influences all three dimensions of student engagement. Practical implications: The outbreak of COVID-19 made the adoption of digital life more compulsive and the nations with already available digital infrastructure and digital competence effectively minimized the adverse effect of social distancing as a result of the pandemic outbreak. Findings emphasize practitioners to focus on the digital capacity building of academicians and the provision of digital infrastructure to facilitate student engagement. Social implications: Society is transforming into a hi-tech lifestyle and technological advancement is penetrating almost every sphere of life at an unprecedented pace. From the digitalization of day-to-day affairs to e-governance, the adoption of technology is becoming a new normal. The outbreak of the pandemic overtook academic institutions equally. So, the social distancing compelled academicians and other stakeholders of universities to switchover from in-campus classes to online classes. The findings enrich the existing body of literature by explaining how digital competence has a determining role in ensuring student engagement amid the COVID-19 outbreak. • This paper reviews past, current, and emerging options available for bettering medication adherence, taking care of both technological, as well as social innovation needed. Non-adherence to medication is a longstanding problem, profoundly affecting patient outcomes and sustainability of healthcare systems. Historically, non-adherence has been observed since the time of Hippocrates, however, when potent drugs became available in the midst of the 20th century, it became a pivotal concern. Despite numerous studies and interventions designed, medication adherence rates remain suboptimal, currently reaching about 50 % still, as described in WHO report two decades ago. What is worse, many healthcare professionals feel neither responsible nor able to change it. Enhancing adherence requires in-depth understanding of the concept, as many intuitive approaches fail to work. For example, contrary to expectations, patient education alone proves insufficient when addressing this issue. Both behavioural models and recent experience reflecting low acceptance of COVID-19 vaccinations strongly suggest that patients' decisions are driven by emotions, which often results in intentional non-adherence. Several technical innovations, such as smart inhalers and electronic pill dispensers, offer potential solutions. However, their effectiveness varies, and standardized certification procedures are lacking. Altogether, technical solutions do not eliminate the problem entirely. To move forward, social and health system innovation is equally needed. Multiple stakeholders could benefit from improved adherence, therefore their greater involvement is advisable to create an adherence-supporting environment. In conclusion, despite available evidence-based interventions, non-adherence remains a complex challenge. Technical and social innovations, combined with a shift in policy priorities, could lead to improved medication adherence and better patient outcomes. Digitalisation is portrayed as a transformative force, remodelling the way we live and businesses operate. In today's unprecedented business environment, the survival of organisations is in technological advancement and online presence. When masses rely on digital financial payments, there is a pressing need for the financial sector to offer innovative products and services to meet customers' needs and achieve sustainable performance. This paper aims to investigate the impact of data analytics on the productivity of banks in Pakistan and employed two-step system generalised methods of moments for estimation. The findings suggest that 5.9% productivity is increased for banks that invested in data analytics on average. It was also found that productivity increase is associated with an investment in data analytics compared to a mere investment in any software. However, the moderating role of dynamic capabilities on the relationship between data analytics and banks' productivity is insignificant, which raises a question on the relevance of research and development expense with human capital development. It is recommended that banks should invest in those analytics that have predictive, visualising and analytical capabilities.
